I work in the office on Wednesdays. If my husband is at home on the Wednesday that I am not, he looks after visiting dogs but in this scenario he would come to the Meet & Greet where possible

I live in central Reading which is super handy if you are travelling into town or even into London for work! The area I live in is super quiet and we have a lovely fenced back garden where your dog can catch some rays in the afternoon sun! Inside our home, we truly believe that it is a zen space - there is lots of comfort and warmth oozing from each room which I pride myself on and I am assured from pet owners that they like this aspect too. Your dog can have their bed wherever you feel it is best - or they may decide to make themselves at home on the sofa! Dogs are fed in their own space away from one another where boundaries can be respected.

Information Caroline O. would like to know about your pet
Please inform me if your dog has any behavioural issues such as hyperactivity, destructiveness or resource-guarding tendencies. It's important I understand this so I can either prepare the house accordingly or reconsider whether the dog is right for our environment. I prefer dogs whose energy levels are medium/low as I must consider my elderly dog's needs in and around the home.
A typical day
Young or old, energetic or not so - I love to get your dog out and about 2-3 times a day for a walk down by the canal/river, in the park or around the neighbourhood. It is safe to say every dog always comes back to my house super tired! I take into consideration the energy levels of each dog - sometimes they will join my elderly rescue on a walk or sometimes they may go on their own with me or instead with another visiting dog. This is something that I will discuss with you. I truly believe that dogs should be able to communicate with each other without too much interference from me. If a dog doesn't like another one getting too close and barks, that is them indicating they need some space and those emotions aren't something I'll actively suppress in that moment. To me it's important that your dog feels they can communicate their every need and feeling whilst they are here staying with me so I will always closely observe to understand the dynamic between multiple dogs. Of course if a dog is anxious, stressed or upset I will make sure they have some time on their own to decompress. I look after max. 2 dogs a day - but sometimes I will only accept 1 if I feel this is the best option for the dynamics of the house.

Pet care experience
💘 Are you looking for a place for your RESCUE and/or ELDERLY dog to stay? Or perhaps you've been unsure about leaving your dog with a sitter for the FIRST time and you're not sure where to start or who to turn to? I get it and I've been in the same position myself as a dog owner. Hello! Welcome to my profile - I'm Caroline and I absolutely adore dogs (can't you tell?)! Having been a dogsitter on Rover for 3 years, I am well versed in providing care to nervous dogs, old dogs, low energy dogs, rescues and everything in between. Myself and my husband see our house as a little bit of a sanctuary - it is a calm, quiet space for dogs to decompress whilst away from their normal routines. Your dog would be joining our elderly rescue, Crecho! Crecho is all bark and no bite and is a cuddly companion. He likes to give a bark (or two!) to any visiting canine when they arrive for the first time - but he means no harm and is just letting them know that this is his territory! We have found Crecho to be a calming influence on many dogs that come here - it's probably quite nice for your dog to have a canine companion when they come to visit and this is the feedback I get from a lot of dog owners/pawrents. 💕 What can you expect from me as your dogsitter? ➡I like to go at the pace of your dog. If they love their walks we will go for miles and miles. I miss walking as my own dog is too old now so count me in for some good hikes! ➡Structured meal times are a must. I like to ensure your dog has a healthy association with mealtime so food will not be left out during the day (this is also to stop Crecho from eating food that isn't his!) ➡I try to imitate your dog's normal schedule as much as possible. Does your dog sleep downstairs or upstairs? Is your dog allowed on the sofa? I will ask questions to ensure our space is suitable for your dog and to help them to feel as comfortable as possible with a schedule that they are used to ➡I appreciate every dog is different and there is never any pressure for them to feel at home straightaway - after all it is all about building trust and reassurance between me and your pet whilst you are away from them Interested or want to hear more..? Look no further and let's arrange a Meet & Greet to best understand the needs of your dog. I look forward to getting to know your precious paws! 😊
Reviews

5 stars yet again! Plenty of walks and love ❤️ Really good at sending updates too 🎉

From our initial "meet and greet" until the time I collected Hugo from Caroline after his stay, everything went perfectly. Caroline provided such wonderful care for Hugo, getting to understand his personality and sending me updates as to how he was getting along in a different environment. You can just tell your dog will be in safe hands. Definitely the gold standard of dog care.....definitely recommended!

Caroline took great care of my dog, Loki, for the day. She was attentive, reliable, and made sure he was comfortable and happy throughout his stay. Loki can be reactive on walks, but Caroline handled him confidently and managed the situation very well. It was clear she understood his needs and knew how to keep him calm and under control. I really appreciated the updates and the care she showed him. I would happily recommend Caroline to anyone looking for a trustworthy and capable dog sitter.

Very accommodating and provided excellent care to my boy! Highly recommend 🔥
