Pongo has stayed overnight & gone for daycare separately. He always comes home tired & happy which is perfect 💚 I enjoy seeing the photos of his walks & him chilling around. They also catered for him when he was a little restless on his first night. Would certainly recommend 😊

Simba really enjoyed spending time at Sarah's - Shy to start with it did not take him long to start being playful - Sarah took him for a long walk, which he likes especially in different park/areas we normally take him to. I could take from the photos I received that Sarah has spend time with him and Simba seemed quite happy and content - I would definitely book Sarah again next time I'm in need of a dogsitter - Many thanks Sarah

Where do I even start? I sent quite a few messages to detail Lola’s needs and asked so many questions. Karen always responded very quickly, having read all the information action and sounded so calm and reassuring. Lola spent the first 2 days with Karen, Alex and Pablo and I couldn’t be happier for my baby girl. She is being made to be part of the family but is also cared for according to her needs. She returned home after a full day in Karen’s care being very happy, having zoomies 🫶🏼 Karen is extremely conscientious, caring and lovely person. She truly takes great pride in looking after my girl. Karen, I cannot thank you enough for restoring my faith in people, especially orally when it comes to looking after my baby girl. You have been godsend and we are so relieved knowing Lola is in the best home she can be when I am in the office. THANK YOU 🫶🏼

About: I've owned, looked after, and been around various dogs since I was a teenager (many years ago now), including terriers, GSDs, border collies, daschunds, and labradors. I have a fun friendly shepsky who loves being around other dogs.. big or small.. lounging about the house, chilling in the back garden, playing sniff hide and seek, fetch, or a walk through the woods or a run in the field. This is a family home, and I mostly work from home, so can only offer pet care on the days I am at home. The family have a friendly dog, so walks and doggy company is guaranteed, with 1-2 hours of exercise each day. To the rear od the house there is a good sized fenced lawned garden with plenty of shrubs, bushes, trees, and shaded areas, as well as access to downstairs rooms in the house. There are always bowls of fresh water inside and outside, as well as toys to run after, find, and chew. We encourage our furry friends to chill out on dog beds and rugs instead of (human) furniture.

About: Dogs have always been a large part of my world and I do love them very much. My family are from the obedience show dog world, my mother is a dog trainer, behaviourist and breeder. She has competed for Wales at Crufts in obedience, and my Aunt once won Crufts obedience once outright (Bev Hughes, Woughstock Wisdom, or Jasper for short). We had a rotating cast of 7 border collies mixed with various pet dogs, well over 25 dogs over the years, five of them my own. Our pack has included poodles, sausage dogs, a Labrador cross, a Yorky, probably about 15 Border Collies + cross breds, GSD’s, Staffies, various others and finally the only current resident, a little male Jackawowa. We believe in the highest standards of care for all dogs, this means plenty of walks, plenty of play, and plenty of cuddles. I now offer professional dog walking and pet care services to the current generation of our four legged friends, this is my main work, so I’m not spending all day on Zoom calls ignoring your dog! and your dog will get lots of exercise on our regular walks unless they don’t want that. They will be looked after in our home, allowed on the sofa and treated as part of the family. So if you would like your dog to join our small pack for expert care on a temporary or permanent basis, get in touch. Please note: • While I’m happy to consider most dogs, I do not board, day care or group walk aggressive dogs. However, I can offer 1 to 1 walks for some smaller breeds and help with desensitisation. • I’m happy to refer you for larger dogs—there’s always a way forward, don’t give up! • I only board small females that are neutered or not more than four months past their last season, as my own dog is an intact male. If you’re unsure about suitability or have any concerns, feel free to reach out—I’m always happy to discuss your dog’s needs. (You can message or call through the rover phone App by clicking my profile/tap teh 3 dots at the top/Call Catherine.) Waggy tails! Cathy I like to give my own dogs two walks a day morning and afternoon/evening, and various games and breaks in between, I'll do the same for your dog, (unless your dog is elderly or it's too hot, or by other arrangement). Plus cuddles. For those dogs that like cuddles, lots of cuddles. Dogs are looked after in the same way as my own dog is, kept inside our house when not walking, and we have a secure enclosed garden. They are allowed on the furniture.

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life, growing up with dogs, horses, cats, rabbits, and many others. Caring for animals has always been my passion, and dogs and horses have a very special place in my heart. I treat every dog as if they were my own, the dog of my photo profile was Prince my best friend he pass away 2 years ago and since then I’m helping other people to take care of their best friends, making sure they feel safe, loved, and happy while in my care. I’m patient, reliable, and always follow each dog’s routine and individual needs. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can have peace of mind knowing your best friend is in good hands. Pet care is a big part of my daily routine.I have a friendly 3-year-old Golden Retriever is a good girl! We go on two walks every day, usually lasting 1–2 hours each. We both love spending time in nature, and Holly especially enjoys swimming, so during the summer we often visit lakes. Our walks are usually scheduled early in the morning or in the evening around sunset, but I’m also available for midday walks if needed. I’m happy to adapt to your dog’s schedule! I currently live in a home with two secure back gardens where dogs have plenty of space to explore, play, and relax safely. I provide a calm, clean, and loving environment where every dog is treated like family. I always follow each owner’s instructions and keep pets on their usual routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special care they may need. My goal is to make every dog feel comfortable, happy, and at home while giving owners complete peace of mind.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and have had a dog in my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve also regularly looked after dogs for friends and family, including a variety of different breeds, sizes and personalities. Since moving out of my family home, I really miss having a dog around! I work from home, which means I can give your dog plenty of company, attention and affection throughout the day. I’m confident and comfortable around dogs and would treat yours just as I would my own, with lots of care, walks, playtime and cuddles. I work from home most of the week, so I’m around throughout the day to give your dog plenty of company, attention, walks and playtime. I occasionally work from the office on a Tuesday, but otherwise I’m home and can be flexible around your dog’s usual routine and needs. I have a secure, fully enclosed garden where dogs can safely enjoy time outside. I’m happy to follow each owner’s individual instructions around feeding, walks, sleeping arrangements and house rules, so your dog can keep to the routine they’re used to and feel settled and comfortable while staying with me.

About: I grew up with my family dogs (3 or 4 at any one time), I was a regular pet sitter whilst at university and now have my own dog. It is safe to say, I absolutely love dogs. I started pet sitting at university in Australia because I missed having dogs to walk and care for. I picked up many regular clients who used my services throughout university and beyond. When I moved back home, I got my own dog Raffy who thoroughly enjoys walks by the river and playing in my garden. I have a lot of experience in dog training having trained my family dogs and Raffy. I also have experience with a wide range of ages from puppies to senior dogs. I am looking to start up pet sitting again to help you out with whatever it is you need (day care, walks, overnight boarding) and ideally to give Raffy some company as he is a very sociable dog! I work full time. I am in the office on Mondays and Tuesdays. I work from home Wednesday to Friday. My work is quite flexible when I am at home so I am able to pop out during the day. I walk Raffy twice a day and on weekends I usually take him swimming down by the river. Depending on my plans I can help on weekends too. I have a fully fenced garden and live walking distance to parks and the river. My dog has free range of the downstairs area with his bed and does not come upstairs.

About: Hi, I am Aakanksha (and Akshay! 😊), proud parents to a 5-year-old Golden Retriever, RIO, who is basically a big bundle of energy, curiosity and cheekiness! 🐶 Having a high-energy dog myself, I know that every dog comes with their own little personality, habits and funny quirks. I’ve also looked after friends’ dogs over the years, from tiny pups to big breeds, so I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes. Having a large dog of my own means I’m confident handling bigger dogs too — whether it’s managing their excitement on walks, keeping them entertained, or just making sure they’re happy and comfortable. To me, dogs are babies, and I always treat them with love and care. I absolutely love spending time with dogs, whether that’s going on walks, playing, giving them attention, or simply keeping them company. I’m also happy to look after puppies and understand that they need a little extra patience, supervision and care while they’re learning and exploring the world. Rio has taught me that dogs aren’t just pets — they’re family. So when your furry friend is with me, I’ll treat them with the same love, patience and care that I’d want someone to give Rio. Expect plenty of walks, cuddles, playtime and maybe a few funny dog stories along the way! 🐾 Since I work from home, pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. I’m around most of the day, which means your dog will get plenty of attention, company and care rather than being left alone for long periods. My partner also mostly works from home and is a big dog lover, so there’s usually someone around to give extra cuddles, playtime and attention. We both genuinely enjoy having dogs around and love the joy and energy they bring into the home. My own dog Rio has a routine of walks, playtime, meals and lots of interaction, so I’m already used to building my day around a dog’s needs. I enjoy taking breaks for walks, play sessions and giving dogs the attention they need throughout the day. I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual routine — whether that’s regular walks, feeding schedules, puppy breaks, or simply having someone around for company. My aim is to make your furry friend feel safe, comfortable and at home while they’re with me. 🐾 I’m happy to offer care both in my own home and in the pet owner’s home, depending on what works best for the dog and their family. At my home, I live in a house with a garden, giving dogs a comfortable space to relax, play and enjoy some outdoor time. I’ll make sure they feel at home, with plenty of attention, walks, playtime and cuddles. Since I’m a dog mum to Rio, my 5-year-old Golden Retriever, I’m already used to having a dog as part of my daily life and understand the importance of keeping a consistent routine. For boarding, I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual habits — including feeding times, walks, sleeping arrangements and any little things that help them feel settled. I know every dog is different, so I take the time to understand their personality and what makes them comfortable. If caring for your dog in your home, I’ll make sure they feel safe and relaxed in their familiar environment while keeping their routine as normal as possible. Whether they’re staying with me or I’m looking after them in their own home, my priority is always the same — making sure they feel loved, comfortable and well cared for while you’re away. 🐾

We are very happy to have found Amanda and her family. Since meet & great they have always been super friendly and you could see that they like dogs a lot, which made us very comfortable to leave Paçoca and Lennon with them. We love the organization in asking for the vaccination card and with the form we filled out. During the day we received photos and updates which left us very relieved. We definitely recommend it and we will contact them again if we need it, it is important to have someone to trust to leave our baby’s 🐶

Thank you so much to Suki and Chenyan for always looking after Nessa with such great care. You are incredibly reliable, and we have complete trust in you both. Nessa also had a wonderful time bonding with Mae (the whippet), who is so well behaved, gentle and respectful. They clearly enjoy each other’s company! Nessa now even recognises when we turn towards their house and starts getting excited before she’s even out of the car, which says it all! Thank you for the lovely photos and updates too - it’s always so nice to see how happy she is. 😊

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Reading on Rover is £28.75 per day (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 10,741 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Reading. About 87% of Reading sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Reading commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee.
