About: I’ve been caring for animals since age of 10. From hand rearing baby bunnies, feeding ducks, chicken and kittens to puppies to all grown up cats she dogs even feeding baby cows I just love animals. Happy to help where I can. I currently work at a local medical practice 3 days a week part time so can fit in on my days off and come before and after work. I work part time 3 short days a week with 4 out of 7 days off it fits in pretty easy. I always make it work. I have 3 children who just love animals aswell sometimes they like to come with me and help me with walking fussing and feeding under my supervision but they know on occasions they can’t if your furry friend is not overly keen on children. As I work in healthcare I’m fully dbs checked also.
“Monika is very welcoming and took good care of Mochi. This is Mochi’s first day care experience. Monika communicated with me throughout the day to update his situation so that I can have peace of mind. I will definitely book again with Monika.”

“Emily and Scott are a super couple. Tabu spent 12 hours with them in their lovely home and didn’t want to leave. They are doggy friendly and have made their home very welcoming to dogs and their owners. I can’t recommend highly enough and we will definitely be back. Already looking at our diaries to ensure Tabu can stay there again!! Thank you both.”

About: I have been around dogs my whole life & have rescued 2 dogs of my own (ages 9 & 6) along with regularly caring for family and friends pets. Over the recent years, I have fostered 4 dogs which have included Rottweiler and Cane Corsos. I work from home regularly and on days where I am working in the office (typically 2 days a week) I will have 1 hour break to spend time/let out/walk your dog along with my 2 so they will never be left for more than 4 hours at any one time during the day. I live directly next to a number of large fields which I will ensure your pet has sufficient exercise during their stay. Due to my 2 dogs coming from rescue centres, they are used to being around plenty of dogs of all sizes. As previously mentioned, all dogs that I have cared for in the last 3 years have all come from different backgrounds with some difficult behaviours/personalities so I am able to adapt to any dogs needs. Your pet will have access to my full home and will be allowed on the sofas if this is something your pet is used too. I am also happy to crate your pet should this be their routine, please provide a crate for the duration of their stay. Your pet will receive a minimum of 2 long walks a day with plenty of breaks in the garden during the day with plenty of toys to play with inside too. I have a large fenced garden with plenty of walks nearby without having to travel. Due to having 2 needy dogs they are very rarely left unattended which means your pet will have company 90% of the time. During any stay at your pets home I will ensure that their routine is followed just the same and will remain professional throughout.

“My dog Vinnie was always happy to go to Maria. She sent lots of pictures and videos showing Vinnie have a great time. He returned daily happy and tired. Could not ask for more than that. I never had any cause for concern about his wellbeing. I will use Maria again.”

“I cannot express enough gratitude and praise to Jing S & Eugine. This is the first time I’ve left my pet with someone in their home. My pet came home happy, relaxed and content. I got regular updates and pictures. Thank you both. You have been amazing and I’m ever so grateful for your assistance in looking after Bubzy 🙏🙏”

“Would highly recommend Claire for dog sitting. Ralph spent the day with both Claire and her lovely dog Marlowe when we were visiting the area for an event. She was very quick to reply to my request and I had excellent communication with Claire from start to finish. Ralph looked very happy and relaxed when I collected him & Claire sent lovely photos of him snuggled on the her sofa. She evidently loves her charges and takes pride in making them feel very welcome. Wish I lived nearer as would definitely love to use Claire for dog sitting again.”

“Nicole is amazing with Coco. Coco had a great time. Coco enjoyed pup group. Was so nice to see them all playimg so well. Nicole sent photos throughout the day. So pleased to have found Nicole”

“Wanda spent a great day with Lisa. My Wanda had a treatment on her paws and Lisa applied it without problem. She spent a great day resting and exploring the garden. Very happy with the service, I definitely recommend daycare with Lisa.”

About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was 11 years old and have experience with dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens. Growing up, my family had two cats, and I was responsible for their daily care, feeding and giving them plenty of love and attention. My family dog has always been my baby, and although I have now moved out the family home, I have been heavily involved in his care throughout his life. I regularly fed and walked him, groomed him, clipped his nails, and made sure he was happy, healthy, and well cared for. I’ve also looked after neighbours’ cats and dogs while they were away on holiday and have cared for friends’ dogs, giving me experience with pets of different ages, breeds, and personalities. In addition, I have experience helping care for newborn puppies, including bottle-feeding. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I genuinely love spending time with them. I understand that every pet is part of the family, and I will care for yours with the same patience, affection, and attention that I give to my own. Me and my fiancé do work full time but I work from home on Mondays and I have a day off every other Friday so can be there all day and provide full attention on Mondays, every other Friday and at the weekends. Unfortunately, in the week I am not at home in the day Tuesday-Thursday/Friday but I am always back home by 5pm or earlier if I am working so if that works for you then amazing! If not, then I will be around all the time Friday-Monday for any weekend bookings. I have a fenced garden and a little cosy one bed house. Pets are welcomed in the bed and on the sofa (or not if you want that boundary upheld!) but I will welcome them like my own. We have a lovely load of fields right by our house which are a beautiful and fun long walk. We do not currently have any pets of our own and this is genuinely just because my family dog is by baby and I would feel like I am betraying him by getting another baby so hopefully we can welcome your fur babies instead to fill that gap in our lives when we don’t have my family dog to stay! :)
“I am so glad to have found Emily and Ed to look after Ghillie two days a week. Emily took the time to understand Ghillie’s needs and story, which put me at ease. I experience them both as kind and caring; communication is smooth and easy. Highly recommend ☺️”

About: We have been looking after pets for 20+ years. From my first puppy, Muffin, when I was 10 to looking after friends and family’s dogs simply because we love them. We have got extensive experience looking after multiple breeds. I work from home so I am around at all times of day to look after your dog. We are also available at weekends and during school holidays. We have multiple closed off spaces so your pet can have their own space when they want/need it if we are looking after more than one dog at a time. We have a few dogs that we frequently look after, so your dog will quickly become friends with them - coming to our house is like meeting up with all their friends (they get so excited to see each other). We have a safe and enclosed medium sized garden, and are surrounded by miles and miles of fields so there is plenty of space for your dog to play.
About: I always had a deep affection for animals, and dogs hold particularly special place in my heart. The truly are a person's best friend! I love spending time with them- playing going for walks, and giving them the care and attention they deserve. I will treat your dog as if they were my own, with lots of love and kindness. I have flexible schedule that includes working from home and days off during the week (my partner). Will only be able to care for 2 dogs at the time. I have fenced garden and playfull yet calm dog myself. I have Doggy splash pool in the garden ready for some action when warm outside 😀

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
