About: I've had pets all my life. Rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and cats as a child. As an adult I've owned a house rabbit, 2 cats and currently have a dog and a cat. One of my cats sadly passed away with Feline Cystitis and he needed lots of medications. One of my dogs has allergies and sometimes needs medications for this. I'm a qualified nurse, who is comfortable with looking after unwell pets. I am currently on maternity leave. I am at home full time until November 2026. So I am available frequently. I may need to bring my daughter with me for some visits, but this would be discussed beforehand. I have a 6ft fence around the garden. Dogs are very much welcome on the sofa to be comfortable. I live near a huge woods and lots of lovely dog walks.
About: Experienced dog owner who have lived with and cared for miniature schnauzers. I am also a foster carer volunteering with the DogsTrust. I am working full time from home (most days) with a flexible schedule, looking to enjoy heading out and walking dogs when I am not caring for dogs on behalf of the DogsTrust I work from home most days of the week with a flexible schedule so I am able to provide multiple walks, play and training sessions a day I live close by to the canal and several large green spaces perfect for a dog. I am also able to provide basic training sessions e.g sit, stay/wait, toilet training etc.
“Grover appeared to have a fabulous day and had lots of fuss and attention! Communication with Alline was excellent and I felt reassured that he was in good hands.... this is the first day care I've used, normally having a dog walker for an hour over lunch when I'm on shift bit this feels a much better option. Have already booked a weekly slot! Thank you for a great service 😊”

About: I’ve had dogs for the past 12 years growing up with 2 working cocker spaniels on a farm and have cared for them from puppyhood through adulthood. Family and friends regularly rely on me to look after their dogs, trusting me to give them the same care and attention I give my own pets. I’m calm, patient, and genuinely love spending time with animals. I also love exploring and being outdoors, so dogs in my care can expect fun walks, and plenty of stimulation alongside lots of affection. I am a Financial accountant who can work from home for up to two weeks. I tend to go to CrossFit in the mornings and if it’s suitable to the dog I will bring them along, followed by a walk before the day job starts. I like to spend some time in the garden with them at lunch to provide some midday stimulation, followed by a short 30 minute walk after work before settling down for the evening. I have a fenced garden, with no escape routes near Newbury town centre, with lots of options for walks around the local conservation trail and local greenham common.

“Obi had a great day with Mathieu and Teddy! He settled in quickly when we arrived and I was pleased to get updates throughout the day on how he was doing. I would happily leave Obi with Mathieu again 😊”

“Remy had a lovely time with Caitlyn. She asked loads of questions to make sure she looked after him just like we would at home. Her excellent communication and attention to detail made us feel really comfortable leaving Remy in her care.”

About: Since my mid twenties I have had dogs, and get a great deal of enjoyment from being around them. Our standard labradoodle, also loves other dogs too. We have a good garden space for dogs, all fenced off. Dogs also have their own dry and warm space inside, which has direct access to the garden for play. I work from home full time and am always available. Often I get booked up, so in advance booking is recommended. Dog walks take place around my working gaps, so do vary from day to day and last between 20 minutes and 40 minutes. As mentioned above. The garden is a decent size for play and interaction between your dog(s) and my dog. The area is fenced and when I am in the garden the dogs can play. When not in the garden, the dogs are safe in a dry, pet friendly area, which has plenty space to lie down and relax in safely.
“Yasmin was very obliging in collecting our dogs where requested. She also delivered them back to us exactly on time where we required. Our precious pooches were as happy and lively as they always are and so I'm 100% positive they had a good time with Yasmin the whole day. No hesitation in recommending this lovely young lady to take good care of your precious pooch and we would definitely use her again should we visit Newbury again in the future. Thank you xx”

About: I’ve always grew up around dogs so walking and taking care of them has always been part of my life. I also have a dog myself who i take out 2-3 times daily. I’m very flexible as I’m a retired professional footballer who now does crossfit so can work my training around any schedule that might be required. All dog walks offered are highly professional and can suit to your needs depending on your preference or dogs requirements. Your dog will be loved and cared for and returned fully satisfied.

About: I had my dog, Sunny, for 17 years before he went to sleep for the last time :( Since then, renting has meant I haven't been able to have my own pet but I regularly look after family & friends dogs, cats, hamsters and fish! I have a soft spot for a staffy, having fell in love with one I regularly look after. I currently work from home with a very lose requirement to be "seen" in the office a couple of times a month so I am usually at home during the working day and evenings. Out of football season my weekends are usually pretty free also. I have a fully fenced, small garden for your four legged friend to relax in and am happy to follow any guidance or requests from you to keep your pet safe & happy.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.
Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
