“Luna had a fantastic day with Robyn and Arya - she hardly knew we were gone! We would definitely recommend Robyn to anyone - she organised a pre-meet, she was punctual and kept us informed, but most importantly, she was really good with Luna, who loved having Arya around to play with too. Thanks very much Robyn!”

“Lily was able to help us at short notice. Communication was fantastic and the dogs looked like they had a great time. I would highly recommend Lily, and if we need a pet sitter again I would contact her straight away.”

“Angela was the perfect house and dog sitter. Our puppy was just a year old, full of energy and mischief! Angela took her for lovely long walks, kept her entertained and cuddled up together in the evenings. It gave us peace of mind that Berry was safe, happy and loved. We will be booking with Angela again when we go away.”

“Wow - we are so lucky and blessed to have found Jess. She is an absolute gem and worked wonders with our Romanian rescue dog Charlie, who adored her, and even let her take him for a walk on her first sit with him, which is amazing. She really has such a natural love for dogs and it showed from the first neet and greet. We had updates and beautiful photos sent to us and she kept to his routine and we wouldnt hesitate to recommend her to anyone with complete trust that you will love and value her as much as we do already. Charlie can't wait to see you again in a few weeks!!”

“Brilliant!! Couldn't have done a better job! Cats are all healthy and happy! I was given regular updates and photos, and I'll be honest I'm pretty sure my house is cleaner than when I left 🤣 10/10 would recommend and will be using again!! 🥰”

“Maria was amazing taking care of my dog Sammy. He was relaxed and happy with her. She took great care of Sammy, sent me updates and photos and the house was left clean and tidy.”

“Kiah was amazing with our two dogs. She’s sat them twice now and we will definitely be rebooking her whenever we can. Felt totally comfortable with her in our home and kept us updated on how they were doing. Thank you Kiah!”

About: I’ve always had a genuine love for animals. I grew up around dogs and have regularly helped friends and family with caring for their pets, including walks, feeding, companionship, and overnight care. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, daycare, and house sitting, and I understand how important it is for pet owners to know their animals are safe, happy, and well cared for while they’re away. I’m reliable, patient, attentive, and comfortable around both dogs and cats of different personalities and energy levels. I take the time to help pets feel relaxed and comfortable, and I’m very attentive to each pet’s routine, needs, and any instructions provided so they can stay happy and settled in their usual environment. I currently don’t have pets of my own due to previously working full time, which means I can now dedicate my attention and care to the pets I look after. Whether your dog loves long walks and playtime or prefers calm company and cuddles, I’ll make sure they receive plenty of care, affection, and attention. I’m also happy to provide regular photo and video updates, so you can feel reassured and connected to your pet while you’re away. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pet! My availability is currently flexible, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets I care for. I’m available for dog walking, drop-in visits, daycare, and house sitting throughout the week and on weekends. I understand how important consistency and reliability are for both pets and owners, and I always aim to be responsive, dependable, and accommodating wherever possible. I’m happy to discuss your pet’s routine and scheduling needs to find what works best for you. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and wellbeing will always be my priority. I understand that every pet has their own routine, personality, and needs, so I always take the time to carefully follow any instructions provided regarding feeding, walks, medication, exercise, and home routines. I aim to create a calm, safe, and reassuring environment where pets feel comfortable and cared for, whether in their own home or during walks and visits. I’m attentive, responsible, and respectful of both pets and owners’ homes, and I’m happy to provide regular photo and video updates for extra peace of mind while you’re away.

“Tani was so so lovely and the girls were both very happy and well looked after. She sent us photo updates and was great with my slightly anxious texts. It was also a bit last minute so I failed to leave great instructions, but she was really flexible with me sending info sporadically (sorry!! 😅🙏). Moira is a rescue and Sophia is a senior, Tani was fantastic in both respects and super understanding about their needs. Our house was in great condition and clean when we got home too. Thank you again! 💖”

“Keyah was fantastic! She was really communicative and accommodating throughout, and took such great care of our dog, Rafferty. He clearly adored her! The house was spotless when we got back too. We’d definitely book with her again and highly recommend her to others.”

“Nicola did a wonderful job looking after Rasmus the cat and taking care of our house, the plants, etc. I would recommend her without reservation to anyone looking for pet sitters and/or house sitting. Not only did she look after our cat and the house beautifully, she went above and beyond, dealing with extra issues that came up along the way and even thinking of asking us if we needed anything like milk and bread for our return. She left the house spotless for us which was absolutely lovely to come back to. During our absence, she kept me posted with pictures and videos and we all noticed how happy Rasmus looked--he obviously adores Nicola! We would be delighted to have Nicola permanently as our cat/house sitter and really hope she will come back next time.”

About: I appreciate and understand your dog is your baby as such we offer a FREE OF CHARGE meet up at a local park and home visit prior to a cash booking. -----I have always been an animal lover. We have hosted friends and families pets for many years. We are a fun house with 1 resident pet Storm a high energy staffy. We love going for walks along the river and playing at the park. I love baking dog treats and dog ice creams ! I work remotely so control my diary. Storm and I take an hour to 90 minutes stroll in the afternoon and usually throw in a few blasts to the local park as needed. We live by the canal and with ample dog friendly fields in under 3 minutes. I have a fenced garden which is entirely enclosed. During the warmer months I secure the garden so the dogs can wander in an out of the house. Whilst Storm is not especially great with cats ( unless they are black) she is highly socialized and can handle even high anxiety alpha personalities. Storm and I are well known in our region by dog owners and sitters alike and I'm personally a huge fan of bully breeds and skilled at handling them regardless of prey vs hunt drives.
About: I absolutely love dogs, to the point that I'm considering dog caring as a new career option. I have owned a pedigree Westie for the last five years since he was a puppy and took him to puppy training classes locally. I am very friendly and enjoy meeting people as well as getting to know their dogs and often chat to other owners and stroke their dogs when out walking my own. We have lots of great walks nearby and I also love exploring! I have a dog-flap installed so your dog can access a fenced garden as they need throughout the day so that's one less thing for them to worry about. I am relaxed and happy to welcome your dog as if this is their own home from home. We're looking forward to meeting you.
About: I’ve taken care of animals my whole life including cats and dogs. I frequently look after multiple dogs and am always keen to go out for long walks, all weathers permitted! I currently work 8-4 and I am available at the weekends for walking and sitting. Happy to cover days as required and flexible with weekend hours. I will make sure your pet has structured eating times and plenty of water to drink, often taking them into the garden to play and of course many belly rubs!
“Zara was absolutely wonderful with our two dogs while we were away. Both dogs were so relaxed when we got home — even Daisy, who normally gets quite stressed, was calm and happy. It was clear they’d been really well cared for and given lots of love and attention. The house was tidy, and we couldn’t have asked for better care. We’d definitely recommend Zara to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter!”

About: I’ve had dogs for the past 12 years growing up with 2 working cocker spaniels on a farm and have cared for them from puppyhood through adulthood. Family and friends regularly rely on me to look after their dogs, trusting me to give them the same care and attention I give my own pets. I’m calm, patient, and genuinely love spending time with animals. I also love exploring and being outdoors, so dogs in my care can expect fun walks, and plenty of stimulation alongside lots of affection. I am a Financial accountant who can work from home for up to two weeks. I tend to go to CrossFit in the mornings and if it’s suitable to the dog I will bring them along, followed by a walk before the day job starts. I like to spend some time in the garden with them at lunch to provide some midday stimulation, followed by a short 30 minute walk after work before settling down for the evening. I have a fenced garden, with no escape routes near Newbury town centre, with lots of options for walks around the local conservation trail and local greenham common.

However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Berkshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 90% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
