It was great to meet Sandra & Ivor and our dogs and cats seemed to be very happy with Ivor house-sitting to look after them. Everything was left tidily in the house and all went smoothly. We were most grateful, especially as it was a fairly short notice booking. It was good to receive regular update photos and news whilst we were away.

We chose Anna as she has experience of large breeds, Shepherds in particular. Our Belgian Mali needs stimulation and Anna not only came up with new ways to keep him stimulated and entertained but she did this all in the very hot weather we had. Regular updates and pics showed Bodie having a great time. Anna also looked after my garden and allotment and kept the house clean and tidy. I highly recommend her services.

We highly recommended Katherine. She is calm and communicative, responsible and efficient. Katherine arrived on time for a handover, and our dogs immediately fell for her charms! All instruction was followed, with regular photo updates while we were out. We arrived home to two very contented doggos. We couldn't ask for better, and Katherine will definitely be on our short list for future sitters.

Tara was a fantastic house & dog sitter. She updated me frequently with lots of photos and I could tell my dog had quickly settled with her which was great and reassuring. It was also good to know that the house was being well looked after during one of the coldest months of the year. I wouldn't hesitate to use her again! Thank you Tara 🥰

About: I have a rescue dog of my own called Womble. I found him in Kosovo, and a kitten called Gigi and we 3 lived in a brown bear sanctuary for 2 weeks together before I eventually got Womble home to the UK and Gigi found a home with a family in the mountains. I have lots of experience caring for cats and dogs, and wild animals too. I currently live in a flat so until I move into a house Womble is living with my parents in Bristol and I really miss animal company. I currently work 3 days in the office and 2 days from home and often have an evening or a day over the weekend free. My hours are flexible so perfect for taking an extra long lunch or finishing early for some pet sitting. I walk everywhere and love exploring the parks and green spaces where I live to get my steps in. My flat is calm with our neighbourhood being very quiet with cars rarely coming past. We don’t have a garden but lots of local parks and green spaces for a walk.

Kept us updated daily about how they were getting on and even sent photos, which we really appreciated! Couldn’t haves asked for more, will definitely be requesting her services again!

About: Greetings, pet parents! My passion for animals is matched only by my proven patience with nervous dogs. For almost 8 years, my own beloved, often anxious canine companion has been my greatest teacher, showing me just how much a gentle approach can transform their well-being. I also had two wonderful cats as family members for about 13 years, which truly deepened my appreciation for their unique personalities and needs. My career as a freelance prop maker provides me with a highly flexible and mobile schedule, which is a real advantage when it comes to pet sitting and dog walking. This availability means I can usually be there for your furry friend whenever they need me. Im available daily after 2pm for walkies. Check-in visit available daily. Boarding is also availabe. Fenced yard available. I also have a friendly dog to keep your fur baby company. Walkies will be on leash ALL the time. Daily photo update available upon request.

Lewis has looked after my two boys several times now and I will definitely be using him in the future. He was patient with my two who can be a bit noisy and nervous when meeting new people. He went above and beyond helping and keeping me updated when my boy was poorly and cleaned up all his unfortunate messes which I was so thankful for. I have already recommended him to people and would continue to do so. 10/10

About: I have a small rescue Maltese who is my whole world, and I’ve grown up with dogs of all breeds and sizes, so I’m confident caring for different personalities and needs. I’m pet first aid qualified, DBS checked, and fully insured, so you can feel confident your pet is in safe hands. I’ve looked after many pets for friends and family over the years, and caring for animals is something I truly love. Every dog I look after is treated like one of my own, with plenty of love, patience, and attention. Pet care is my full-time job, so I have plenty of time to give each dog the attention, exercise, and companionship they deserve. My daily routine is built around the pets I’m caring for, allowing me to be flexible with walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting. Whether your dog enjoys long adventures or a quieter pace, I’ll make sure their routine is followed as closely as possible so they feel happy and comfortable. I will care for your pet in your home as if they were my own, while also treating your home with the utmost respect. I know how important it is for pets to stay in a familiar environment, so I will stick closely to their usual routine, including feeding times, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions you provide. I will make sure they receive plenty of attention, comfort, and companionship, and I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

About: My wife Livia and I have had dogs for our whole life, ever since we were kids. I am always any new dogs best friend and Livia understands them to such a deep level. We both love dogs and treat them as a member of the family. Our old dog Bailey (11) is also co-parent to our two kids (8 and 5) and they have grown up with a love for animals. Together we all love going on adventures! We feel absolutely confident we can help look after your furry friends. Honestly, we would want your dog to have a nice time with us and help you feel that they are being looked after as they should be. We both work part time from home so there is always someone in the house and around. The kids will be in school during school times so around most of the time. We already have our dog so we don't go on long trips without him and wouldn't anyway when looking after other animals. In our home, it would very much depend on what your dog(s) need. We are pretty adaptable and can move things around to suit. We have a routine of sorts with our dog Bailey around feeding and walking but some things are more flexible. Our house has some green areas around as I like to get some off lead time with Bailey when we go on walks - this can all be discussed. Bailey has his bed and you can obviously bring your dogs bed. The bed is somewhere that a dog can go if they want peace and quiet which will be respected. Obviously there are a million and other things that you may want to know! I am very happy for any questions.

Simply put, Anna is the best dog sitter we have ever met and ticks every box we had and more. Communication from the start was very good, she listened to each and every need we listed and was happy to meet before confirming the booking. We are very particular on who looks after Lumi and Anna did not disappoint. She provided constant updates throughout our trip and we felt very secure in knowing that she was looking after Lumi in the best way possible. All in all, we recommend Anna to anyone. If you're finding it hard to choose, give her a shot as she looked after Lumi in such a way that it felt like we left her with family. Lastly, on top of all this, when we returned from holiday the house was left spotless and she washed the bedsheets she used which was very much appreciated. Thank you Anna, we look forward to booking you again in the future. Lumi is already missing you. Phil, Ami and Lumi.

Alex and Steve were excellent carers to my 2 little shih tzus. I have never left my fur babies with anyone but family. Alex was very understanding and kept me fully up to date with pup dates. Sending me photographs of their day. My house was left immaculate, and all my instructions followed to the letter. I cannot praise Alex and Steve enough for putting my mind at rest and taking care of Hugo and Isla. On top of that, they looked after our fish and even took care of the garden, which we really appreciated. Overall, incredibly reliable, caring, and thorough we wouldn’t hesitate to book them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter.

Thank you so much Shelley for making our holiday completely stress free, we can’t recommend you highly enough ☺️🌟

FAQs for House Sitting - Deane

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Deane on Rover is £46 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 2,496 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Deane. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Deane walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Deane choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
