About: I work for a local company in accounts and have had many pets since I was young, I have had a total of 3 cats in my youth and lived with and cared for a family dog and have personally owned since then 6 hamsters, 3 degus, 6 chinchillas, a bearded dragon and multiple fish from cold water goldfish to tropical angel fish, I get on with all pets equally. I always provide pet sitting for friends and family while they are away on holiday.

“Lisa was a lovely cat sitter. The cats had obviously been really comfortable during her stay and were very relaxed when we came home. She kept us updated every day with pictures of the cats obviously enjoying themselves. She was very meticulous regarding the instructions that were given regarding the medication. I would definitely .”

“Charlotte looked after my dog Bailey for 2 nights. She was friendly and came round to meet him before she was due to look after him to see how they got on which I thought was good. Bailey enjoyed his time with her. She was experienced and I trusted her completely with him.”

“We’ve now booked Adam six times since first finding him at the beginning of July, which probably says everything about how highly we rate him! He’s incredibly reliable, friendly and communicative, always respectful of our home, and sends the loveliest (and often very funny!) updates and photos throughout the day. Most importantly, our three pets absolutely adore him. They all crowd around to greet him as soon as he arrives and are clearly completely happy and comfortable in his company, which makes leaving them so much easier for us. Adam has very quickly become someone we trust completely with both our pets and our home, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a kind, dependable and genuinely lovely sitter. We’re so glad we found him!”

“Ellie looked after our 5 month old lab for an evening. First time we have used a dog sitter and got on with Willow really well, and even gave us a few pupdates throughout the night. We are so grateful and really recommend.”

“Taryn has been brilliant with our old girl Bean. We were away a night and Taryn stayed at our house. We got regular updates and came home to a very happy, tired dog. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Taryn, so glad she’s local to us and we’ve found her. Great communicator, came and met Bean beforehand and we’ll definitely use her again. Thanks Taryn”

“Martin was a great ‘sitter’ with our dog Holly. He was kind and compassionate and willing to meet up a couple of times as she is very nervous. He can ‘ready’ to ask relevant questions and took the time to get to know her. He was confident in taking her out first time and also lovely person to chat with. We’re still away, but house was left in perfect condition from what I have heard. Many thanks, Martin and I wouldn’t hesitate to call again in the future.”

“Cate is just wonderful! She looked after our two cats and our dog for a longer sit this weekend, and once again, they were completely at ease with her the whole time. All three of them followed her around like she was part of the family, and it’s so reassuring to know they’re in such loving, capable hands. We came home to happy, relaxed pets and great updates throughout the day. Couldn’t recommend her more highly!”

“Maureen looked after our sausage dog Eric for 10 days while we were on holiday. She was very good at communicating before and during the stay and sent regular photos and updates. Eric was clearly very happy being with her. In addition she looked out for our numerous parcel deliveries, put the bins out on bin collection day and watered my plant. The accommodation was spotless when she left. Maureen is a lovely lady and we are hoping she will sit for us again in August.”

“Becky moved in to look after our young greyhound cross. Before the booking she was quick to reply to questions and seemed happy to chat about/get to know about our dog so she knew what to expect. During her stay, she sent regular updates and was happy to keep his routine. We came home to a happy dog so what more could you ask for!”

“Michael stayed for a week while we went on holiday. He took exceptionally good care of our four legged family members. We would be more than happy to have him return and take care of our dogs again.”

“Rachel was professional and the 2 border collies fell in love with her from the beginning. Rachel took them on walks and was great at playing games with them. Thank you so much Rachel!”

About: I have had family dogs since I was 7, looking after 2 large dog breeds. My childhood dog is now 14 so I have experience in senior dog care along with helping to train my younger dog when he was a puppy. I moved away last year and I’m missing having dogs around. I love looking after pets in general and walking dogs. I’m currently working shifts meaning I have lots of free time during the week. I currently have no pets or children so love the opportunity to get out and about walking dogs and pet sitting. I currently am living in a flat so am unable to house dogs. I am very flexible to follow whatever routine your pet is following.
“We have just returned from a week's holiday having left our two dogs in the care of Rocio and couldn’t have asked for a better service. She stayed at our home for a week to care for our dogs, and from the moment she arrived, it was clear we were in excellent hands. Rocio is very knowledgeable and experienced—she understood our dogs’ routines and personalities right away, and handled everything with calm confidence. What really stood out was how easy she was to communicate with. She kept us updated throughout the week, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We came home to two happy dogs and a spotless house. If you're looking for someone reliable, kind, and truly capable, Rocio is the one. We will certainly use her services again.”

Ella looked after our dog and guinea pig (+ fish and stick insects!) for us for 2 weeks while we went abroad. She was absolutely amazing with all and we came back to a very relaxed and happy dog, and a nice clean and tidy house. Kemba clearly felt happy and comfortable with her and we would definitely book her again. Thank you Ella x

Claudia was fantastic with our two dogs. We felt completely at ease leaving them with her for the day, and really enjoyed receiving all the updates. They had a great day with her! She is friendly, kind, flexible and communicative. Super recommended. Would book her again!

Martin was prompt with arriving. He was the perfect house sitter ,watering the garden with the watering cans and feeding the fish in the pond. He made great friends with our dog Arthur. Two walks a day during the coldest part of the day. The heat has been a challenge. The house was left very clean and tidy. I would certainly recommend him to anyone wanting a house sitter.
We were fortunate to find Jemima at very short notice, and she was incredibly accommodating with our dates. From the outset, she was friendly, professional, and very easy to communicate with. She took excellent care of our two Labradors, and it was clear they were happy and well looked after while we were away. We particularly appreciated the regular updates and photos, which gave us real peace of mind. When we returned home, the house was tidy and well cared for, and everything had been looked after responsibly. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jemima to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and caring dog sitter, and we would be delighted to have her stay again.

Lisa was a lovely cat sitter. The cats had obviously been really comfortable during her stay and were very relaxed when we came home. She kept us updated every day with pictures of the cats obviously enjoying themselves. She was very meticulous regarding the instructions that were given regarding the medication. I would definitely .

However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hart choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
