About: I have had 6 cats, 2 dogs, 3 guinea pigs, 2 hamsters and 4 chickens of my own who I have looked after with the upmost care. I have a lot of experience in caring for family friends pets while they have been away on holiday or if they just need me to pop in for a feed and a walk. One of my dogs was a high energy big dog, he had severe separation anxiety so I have experience in dogs with specific needs, I have full understanding of pets who need a little extra love and attention and I have the patience to provide that for them. I understand it can be an anxious time to leave them alone while you leave the house and my family used Rover sitters/walkers for our anxious dog so I would love to give back and provide that same help that I received for you. All of my pets I have rescued from fairly young and nurtured them until their old age, so I know full well that when animals get older they will need extra help or attention to help them go about their days. I have so much love for animals and I would be honoured to care for your pet and ease your mind while you're at work or away. I am currently freelance so I have all the time in the world to provide the most care and attention for your pet. I unfortunately am unable to board animals at my home as I have a young kitten but I drive and will visit you at your home if that suits your schedule. While I can't host your pets at my home I have full awareness of what needs to be in place to keep your pet safe. I would like to get to know you and your systems for your animal and I will adapt my work accordingly
“Alycia was so wonderful with our two vizslas, one young and one senior. She gave us updates and pictures, and took them for plenty of walks. She tried to run with Ruth (which is great!) but Ruth was a little too naughty/jumpy. Maybe next time, as Ruth’s energy is never ending! The flat was very clean, and Alycia seems very responsible and trust worthy. We will definitely work with her again!”
“Erin was absolutely fantastic and I felt really reassured knowing Juni was having a great day with her whilst we were both in the office. She sent updates and pictures throughout the day and you can tell she really loves dogs. Thank you so much, we will definitely be in touch again!”

About: “I’m a reliable and attentive pet lover with hands-on experience caring for animals for family and friends. I previously raised and cared for my own dog from a young age, helping with basic puppy training, daily walks, feeding, and playtime. I’ve also looked after a friend’s dog for a weekend while they were away and currently care for my parents’ cats during their holidays. I focus on building trust with both pets and their owners by keeping to their routines, being patient and attentive to each pet’s personality, and providing regular updates and photos so owners feel reassured while they’re away. I always treat every pet with the same care and attention I would give my own. I work from home 3 out of 5 day a week. I’m available for walks and feeding during the week. Throughout the weekend I can do overnight stays, as well as walks and feeding through the weekend. For overnight stays I would need at least 7 days notice so I can plan ahead. When caring for pets in the owner’s home, I make sure to follow the pet’s usual routine as closely as possible so they feel comfortable and secure in their familiar environment. This includes feeding them at their normal times, taking dogs out for walks and exercise, and making sure they have plenty of playtime and attention. I also keep their living areas clean, such as refreshing water, cleaning litter trays for cats, and ensuring everything is tidy. I’m very respectful of the owner’s home and always communicate with updates and photos so they feel reassured that their pet is happy and well looked after while they’re away.
“Anna was wonderful! Very communicative, asked lots of questions, was very respectful! She clearly loved our big old labradors. Walked them, and cleaned up after them, gave them lots of love. Im pretty sure they like her more than us! We will be booking her again.”

“Fay was brilliant with my pup George, he's clearly had a brilliant day! Fay kept me up to date with a photo and video which was lovely! Would definitely recommend. Also it was a very last minute request so I really appreciate Fay stepping in! Thank you!”

“Rachel was absolutely great with Ticky, they got on so well straight away. Loads of updates throughout the day, great communication. Have rebooked already, would highly recommend!!”

“If you are looking for the best person to care for your pet - look no further than Mary. Mary has just looked after our very senior dog, getting used to her 'ways' without any problem. Poppy had a paw problem during this time and the care Mary gave her was amazing - including much patience and perseverance giving her antibiotics. All this during the very hot weather which is not easy for anyone let alone a dog! We were kept up to date very regularly with messages and photos and it was very reassuring to know how happy she was. I would not hesitate to ask Mary again if we need care for Poppy and would recommend her to all.”

“Katie was an excellent companion, carer and cuddler of our dog Peggy whilst we were travelling. Super reliable, confident and caring, Katie had an instant bond with our nervous Border terrier. It was also great to get regular updates and pictures too...”

“Really lovely to meet Annabel and Oli. They were super flexible as our request was last minute. Quickly understood what our pup needed and then looked after and cared for him overnight. They even took him for a lovely long morning walk 🙏 Wouldn’t hesitate to book them again - thanks guys! Much appreciated.”

About: I looked after my little dog Sandy ever since I was a wee girl. We grew up together and became the best of friends. Before that, there was Nibbles and 5 other degus (a type of rodent), 2 gerbils, and a neighbour’s cat who quite frankly adopted us. I had the amazing opportunity to watch one of the degus give birth, and hold her newborn as it fell asleep in my arms. I love going on walks and regularly hike around Guildford, it would be amazing to have a four-legged companion! I am currently enjoying a break from studying, so my schedule is mostly free, but come September I will be attending university and partaking in societies that may take up some evenings. I am very happy to do all the things your pet is used to and attend to all of their needs. Walking, feeding, training, administering medication, playing etc. are all things I am capable of and expect to do.

About: I grew up 2 dogs since the age of 10 and have loved them ever since. They are my pride and joy. I slept with them, walked them, trained them and basically did everything with them my whole life. Almost all of my family have owned dogs their whole lives and so have spent most of my life caring for them. I have done dog sitting on numerous occasions for family and friends and am very confident I will provide the best care possible for your pets! Also a big cat lover, have looked after cats and kittens as young as 8 weeks (english blue’s are a fave of mine) I’m currently looking for work and so have lots of free time to spend with your pets! I am free almost anytime any day. I live in a flat with no garden access so boarding at the requesters home would be preferred. Will feed, walk and spend time with your pets however needed. Please make sure you inform of any regular routines your pets have so I can make them feel as at home as possible whilst you are away

About: I have been a dog owner for 7 years and truly understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pet. I recently lost my own dog, so I really miss having that companionship and would love to give that same care, attention and love to other dogs, especially on weekends and during school holidays. I live in a calm, cool temperature, comfortable flat in St John’s with access to a large nearby field, perfect for walks and playtime. I am reliable, patient, and will treat every dog as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, happy and well cared for while you’re away. I work full time during the week, so I’m mainly available for pet care on weekends (I can do Friday night house sitting after 5pm). This means I can give your dog my full attention, whether that’s for walks, playtime or overnight stays. I’m also available during school holidays and half terms, so I can offer more flexible care during those times. When I’m with your pet, they will have plenty of attention, exercise and company. Your dog will be cared for in a calm, safe and comfortable flat that’s kept at a cool, pleasant temperature. I live close to a large field, which is perfect for regular walks and giving dogs space to run and explore. Your baby will also have a place outside my flat where they can have regular toilet breaks, supervised by myself. Having owned and cared for my own dog for 7 years, I understand how important it is to treat every pet with patience, kindness and attention, just as I would my own.

Thank you so much Rafaelle for taking such good care of our elderly dog Celery. Celery is blind and can need a little extra care and Raf was just brilliant at being understanding and taking everything in her stride. Nothing was ever a worry and we came home to a very happy dog! Thanks again Rafaelle!

We couldn’t recommend Anastasia more highly! She was fantastic at communicating since my first message right up until the end of our 14 day trip. She went above and beyond to make sure our dogs were cared for and felt loved; especially our old dog Ivy who can be very demanding particularly at night and this was well within Anastasia’s skill set! Thank you, we will definitely be requesting your services again :)

Sarah was fantastic and took great care of both Milo and our home. She obviously cared deeply for Milo, and sent us lots of lovely updates - and we came back to a house which I'm sure was cleaner than when we left it! We'd highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for someone to house/dog sit, and we'll definitely be in touch the next time we're away!

It was wonderful to have Lucy taking care of Ziggy and our house. We left our house clean and very tidy, and when we returned , we found it in exactly the same condition. Lucy is a wonderful young lady, and we feel completely confident leaving Ziggy and our home in her care. We would definitely ask her to look after Ziggy again. We highly recommend her.

Having met Fiona previously for a meet and greet we felt confident that she was the perfect person to look after our two Labradors. We booked her to dog-sit while we were out for the day/evening. She arrived on time and the dogs were very pleased to see her. We received lovely messages and photos throughout the day which showed two very happy, settled dogs. We feel very lucky to have found Fiona. She is a very calm and friendly person who is very easy to communicate with. We feel completely at ease leaving our dogs in her care and would most definitely recommend!

Katie looked after our dogs, Bowie and Luna, for the day, and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. From the moment we met her, she was warm, friendly, and clearly loves dogs. She took wonderful care of Bowie and Luna, keeping us updated throughout the day with messages and photos, which gave us complete peace of mind. When we came home, they were happy, relaxed, and clearly had a fantastic time. Katie was perfect in every way—kind, reliable, professional, and genuinely caring. It’s such a relief to know we’ve found someone we can trust completely with our dogs. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional dog sitter, and we’ll definitely be booking with her again. Thank you so much, Katie!

Erin was amazing with our 4 month old puppy. She kept her entertained and made sure nap times were enforced. Erin kept to our routine and helped us maintain the training we had started and even did a little extra. I wouldn't hesitate to book Erin in again. Thank you!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Guildford walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Guildford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
