“We welcomed Fiona into.our home to look after our two golden retrievers and she did a fabulous job. Long walks in the country she takes awesome photos Will definitely be hiring Fiona in the future Many Thanks James and Laura”

“Charlie took great care of our girl. He was really great at asking questions around her care and formed an instant bond with her! Great communication and regular updates too which were really appreciated. We wouldn’t hesitate to use Charlie again!!”

“Rosie was great with Kylo. They enjoyed a little walk together and plenty of cuddles in the sofa! She kept us updated throughout the sit which was great - would definitely rebook her!”

“So I secured the services of Rafaelle to house sit 3 dogs for a week. All instructions and suggestions followed, they got more walks than they ever do with me, and I think they were disappointed to see her go! One instance of one of the dogs injuring himself (minor) was dealt with as I would have wished and I was notified at an early stage. I returned to a clean house, washed bed linen, a clean lawn and 3 very happy pooches. Recommended (I'd certainly request her services again)”

“Annie has looked after our pup a few times in our home and we wouldn’t hesitate to book her again. She kept us updated, took him for a walk and played with him. Thank you Annie!”

“Erin was amazing with our 4 month old puppy. She kept her entertained and made sure nap times were enforced. Erin kept to our routine and helped us maintain the training we had started and even did a little extra. I wouldn't hesitate to book Erin in again. Thank you!”

About: “I’m a reliable and attentive pet lover with hands-on experience caring for animals for family and friends. I previously raised and cared for my own dog from a young age, helping with basic puppy training, daily walks, feeding, and playtime. I’ve also looked after a friend’s dog for a weekend while they were away and currently care for my parents’ cats during their holidays. I focus on building trust with both pets and their owners by keeping to their routines, being patient and attentive to each pet’s personality, and providing regular updates and photos so owners feel reassured while they’re away. I always treat every pet with the same care and attention I would give my own. I work from home 3 out of 5 day a week. I’m available for walks and feeding during the week. Throughout the weekend I can do overnight stays, as well as walks and feeding through the weekend. For overnight stays I would need at least 7 days notice so I can plan ahead. When caring for pets in the owner’s home, I make sure to follow the pet’s usual routine as closely as possible so they feel comfortable and secure in their familiar environment. This includes feeding them at their normal times, taking dogs out for walks and exercise, and making sure they have plenty of playtime and attention. I also keep their living areas clean, such as refreshing water, cleaning litter trays for cats, and ensuring everything is tidy. I’m very respectful of the owner’s home and always communicate with updates and photos so they feel reassured that their pet is happy and well looked after while they’re away.
“Hannah was lovely. She was punctual and personable. She took good care of our dachshund. She managed to get our daxy into his jumper before going on a walk, which is definitely not easy. She also gave us updates throughout the day while we were out. I would recommend Hannah and will continue to request her services.”

“Lady Liquorice who is quite a shy Cavapoo, adored Alicya at first sight. Alycia shared pictures of all the fun things they got up to, giving me comfort that my baby was happy while I was on holiday. Being a Vet student I also knew she could handle any unexpected situation. She was also a very considerate house sitter. I highly recommend Alycia.”

“Anna was great - came for a thorough meet and greet first to make sure she understood the girls and her needs, checked in with me regularly through the sit, and when I got back the dogs were happy and relaxed. Definitely recommend !”

“Freddie was looked after by Harriet through most of one day and then overnight and looked after very well indeed. We had regular updates, he had a couple of walks, fed well and generally seemed to be happy”

“Fay was brilliant with my pup George, he's clearly had a brilliant day! Fay kept me up to date with a photo and video which was lovely! Would definitely recommend. Also it was a very last minute request so I really appreciate Fay stepping in! Thank you!”

“Elliot stepped in at the last minute with overnight house sitting, he was brilliant with our cat and dog and super helpful, I definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a dog / cat sitter in the Guildford area 😊”

About: I’ve had dogs for my whole life, my father is a dog walker and boards dogs so i have taken care of all sizes and breeds of dogs. I have also helped my family raise 6 litters of puppies and have raised 3 different dogs now throughout my life. I’m currently unemployed so i will be able to look after your pets any time. Ideally i’d prefer to house sit unless you are local to me and would need somewhere i could walk your pets in walking distance. I’ll be able to take your pets on a walk daily for up to an hour depending on them and i’ll make sure to give them any medication they need or stick to any routines they follow.
“Veronica is an amazing sitter! She took the best care of our boy Reggie! He absolutely loved her and her little doggie Anja! She provided pictures and videos throughout the whole time! I couldn’t recommend her enough! An absolute star and will definitely rebook! Thank you Veronica! 💕”

“Charlotte helped us out last minute and was brilliant! She kept us updated throughout, and we came home to a very happy Henri and an immaculate home. Would highly recommend to anyone needing a pet sitter or walker!”

“Many thanks to Anne-Lise and Mike for taking such good care of all our pets. Our cat had to go to the vet 3 days before the house sit was due to take place , as he was suddenly unwell and as a result was prescribed antibiotics and an oral medication. I told Anne-Lise straight away and she wasn’t fazed at all and put me totally at ease. She sent me regular updates whilst we were away, which meant I could relax knowing everything was ok. Great communication, and it’s clear how much Anne-Lise and Mike love animals. Thanks again.”

“Clare has been so warm and caring to Aiko from the start. He has been really comfortable with Clare. Plus she was really communicative and gave updates regularly. I thoroughly recommend Clare.”

We had never left our dog before but I felt that he was very looked after by Jacqui. I was a little worried about him as we went away at the start of a heatwave but Jacqui kept in touch regularly to let us know how he was doing which was very reassuring. I wouldn’t hesitate to use her again.

We met Rosie a couple of weeks ago for a meet and greet and were immediately impressed with her calm and friendly nature and both our dogs were very relaxed in her company. We booked Rosie to look after our dogs while we were out for the day. She arrived on time and the dogs were very pleased to see her. One of our dogs has a tendency to get stressed in the heat and it was an extremely hot day. Rosie kept both dogs cool and calm throughout the day and sent messages and photos which showed two very happy, settled dogs. We feel very lucky to have found Rosie. She is a very calm and friendly person who is very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Would definitely recommend!

Anna looked after Buzz (dog) & Moshi (Cat) incredibly well. It was clear that Buzz absolutely loved his time with her. Beautiful walks and cuddles were very much enjoyed by him. In addition she looked after our home and it was kept very clean and tidy. Would recommend her anytime. Thank you.

Erin was amazing with our 4 month old puppy. She kept her entertained and made sure nap times were enforced. Erin kept to our routine and helped us maintain the training we had started and even did a little extra. I wouldn't hesitate to book Erin in again. Thank you!

Estheffany Spent time with Milo (our 3 year old beagle/cockerpoo cross) in our home for the second time, everything went so smoothly. The dog was happy, the house was tidy, and great updates shared throughout her stay. We'll definitely be in touch for a third booking!

Charlotte has been amazing. She has spent a night with our dogs and has kept us updated with pictures which has helped us having good time. The dogs have loved spending time with her (I can definitely say that as one of our dogs is very shay with new people). We will definitely reach her out in the future.

Samantha was great with Dash and remained professional throughout a very difficult situation. During the stay, Dash became distressed after getting a stick lodged in his mouth. While Samantha was trying to help remove it, Dash bit her hand/finger. Because of the incident, we mutually decided not to continue the remainder of the stay. Throughout the entire process, Samantha’s communication was excellent. She kept us updated on everything and remained incredibly kind, patient, and understanding despite the circumstances. We really appreciated her honesty and the grace with which she handled everything. We still highly recommend her as a sitter.

Clare was such a lovely sitter! Wilf, our golden retriever, took her to her straight away and we felt completely comfortable leaving him in her care. She sent photos and gave us regular updates whilst we away and Wilf looked relaxed and happy. ☺️ We would 100% recommend Clare to others and Wilf is already looking forward to seeing her again very soon!

Fiona was wonderful! Really quick to respond and help us out with a couple of last minute dog sitting requests. Fiona was super calm and confident with our lively pup Leila, which made her very relaxed. She even fell asleep on her lap. I came home to a happy dog and was given regular updates and photos throughout the day. Will definitely be rebooking again!

Charlotte is a really great sitter. She immediately bonded with our golden retriever Wilf and we fely completely comfortable leaving her to care for him whilst away for two nights. She gave us regular updates and sent photos too! We came back to a clean house and a happy dog. We have already booked her to look after Wilf for our next holiday! ☺️

Really lovely to meet Annabel and Oli. They were super flexible as our request was last minute. Quickly understood what our pup needed and then looked after and cared for him overnight. They even took him for a lovely long morning walk 🙏 Wouldn’t hesitate to book them again - thanks guys! Much appreciated.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Guildford walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Guildford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
