“Erin was absolutely fantastic and I felt really reassured knowing Juni was having a great day with her whilst we were both in the office. She sent updates and pictures throughout the day and you can tell she really loves dogs. Thank you so much, we will definitely be in touch again!”

“I would thoroughly recommend Rafaelle. She was on time and always available when checking in. She took really good care of Aiko and he was a very happy and relaxed boy when I got home. We would love to continue working with Rafaelle going forward.”

“Since Aero has separation anxiety he cannot be left home alone but Fiona made sure he was comfortable and he felt relaxed in her presence. She did above and beyond what we asked. I would definitely recommend her to keep your pets safe and happy!”

“Lady Liquorice who is quite a shy Cavapoo, adored Alicya at first sight. Alycia shared pictures of all the fun things they got up to, giving me comfort that my baby was happy while I was on holiday. Being a Vet student I also knew she could handle any unexpected situation. She was also a very considerate house sitter. I highly recommend Alycia.”

“Charlie took great care of our girl. He was really great at asking questions around her care and formed an instant bond with her! Great communication and regular updates too which were really appreciated. We wouldn’t hesitate to use Charlie again!!”

“Freddie was looked after by Harriet through most of one day and then overnight and looked after very well indeed. We had regular updates, he had a couple of walks, fed well and generally seemed to be happy”

“This was our first time using a dog sitter but Holly made our experience very easy indeed. She was very communicative, beforehand and during our time away, and reassured us that she knew what she was doing. We even got a photo of Lottie which was a nice plus. Lottie seems to have had the best time with Holly and we’d definitely recommend her to others.”

“Anne was a fantastic dog sitter. She looked after our little corgi so well and stayed at our place while we were away. We came home to a happy pup and a well-looked-after house. We would absolutely recommend Anne as a pup sitter”

“Fay has done 2 sits for us in 3 days on Thurs 28th & Sat 30th August. She has arrived on time, has been willing to sit our Cavapoochon Oscar till late & is very easy-going. Will definitely use Fay again”

“Anna was great - came for a thorough meet and greet first to make sure she understood the girls and her needs, checked in with me regularly through the sit, and when I got back the dogs were happy and relaxed. Definitely recommend !”

“If you are looking for the best person to care for your pet - look no further than Mary. Mary has just looked after our very senior dog, getting used to her 'ways' without any problem. Poppy had a paw problem during this time and the care Mary gave her was amazing - including much patience and perseverance giving her antibiotics. All this during the very hot weather which is not easy for anyone let alone a dog! We were kept up to date very regularly with messages and photos and it was very reassuring to know how happy she was. I would not hesitate to ask Mary again if we need care for Poppy and would recommend her to all.”

About: “I’m a reliable and attentive pet lover with hands-on experience caring for animals for family and friends. I previously raised and cared for my own dog from a young age, helping with basic puppy training, daily walks, feeding, and playtime. I’ve also looked after a friend’s dog for a weekend while they were away and currently care for my parents’ cats during their holidays. I focus on building trust with both pets and their owners by keeping to their routines, being patient and attentive to each pet’s personality, and providing regular updates and photos so owners feel reassured while they’re away. I always treat every pet with the same care and attention I would give my own. I work from home 3 out of 5 day a week. I’m available for walks and feeding during the week. Throughout the weekend I can do overnight stays, as well as walks and feeding through the weekend. For overnight stays I would need at least 7 days notice so I can plan ahead. When caring for pets in the owner’s home, I make sure to follow the pet’s usual routine as closely as possible so they feel comfortable and secure in their familiar environment. This includes feeding them at their normal times, taking dogs out for walks and exercise, and making sure they have plenty of playtime and attention. I also keep their living areas clean, such as refreshing water, cleaning litter trays for cats, and ensuring everything is tidy. I’m very respectful of the owner’s home and always communicate with updates and photos so they feel reassured that their pet is happy and well looked after while they’re away.
“Anne-Lise and her husband Mike looked after our 2 Corgi girls and did an amazing job. This was a trial run to make sure the girls are ok being left with people other than ourselves during a longer break we are planning and I am more than happy that we have picked the right couple. We were sent daily updates and video compilations which made us feel at ease and when we got home the girls were really happy which is all a dog parent wants.”

“Clare has been so warm and caring to Aiko from the start. He has been really comfortable with Clare. Plus she was really communicative and gave updates regularly. I thoroughly recommend Clare.”

“Jacqui took great care of our boys again!! They love her, as she really treats them as her own kitties. We received wonderful updates and pics from her, and the boys were healthy and happy upon our return. We will continue using Jacqui per her availability, in the future. Thank you so much for your attentive and loving care for our pets.”

“Theo is a wonderful dog sitter both our dogs love him. It was the first time we had used a house sitter and dog sitter service so we were quite apprehensive Theo sent us some great videos while we were away of the dogs to reassure us. We would definitely use Theo on our next trip”

About: I have been a dog owner for 7 years and truly understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pet. I recently lost my own dog, so I really miss having that companionship and would love to give that same care, attention and love to other dogs, especially on weekends and during school holidays. I live in a calm, cool temperature, comfortable flat in St John’s with access to a large nearby field, perfect for walks and playtime. I am reliable, patient, and will treat every dog as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, happy and well cared for while you’re away. I work full time during the week, so I’m mainly available for pet care on weekends. This means I can give your dog my full attention, whether that’s for walks, playtime or overnight stays. I’m also available during school holidays and half terms, so I can offer more flexible care during those times. When I’m with your pet, they will have plenty of attention, exercise and company. Your dog will be cared for in a calm, safe and comfortable flat that’s kept at a cool, pleasant temperature. I live close to a large field, which is perfect for regular walks and giving dogs space to run and explore. Your baby will also have a place outside my flat where they can have regular toilet breaks, supervised by myself. Having owned and cared for my own dog for 7 years, I understand how important it is to treat every pet with patience, kindness and attention, just as I would my own.
“Katie was an excellent companion, carer and cuddler of our dog Peggy whilst we were travelling. Super reliable, confident and caring, Katie had an instant bond with our nervous Border terrier. It was also great to get regular updates and pictures too...”

With just a week's notice, Anna very kindly accommodated us to look after our two dogs (one of whom is a 16-year-old lab who needs extra special attention!) and my daughter's dog (another, more boisterous, labrador!) whilst we were all at a friend's wedding - and I have nothing but praise fo her! She is a lovely person, very good communicator, was happy to come over to our house to get to know the dogs and the set-up before the day, and was very thorough in her questions and reassuring in her confirmation that she had understood the mission!! It was a very hot day, so walkies were not on the menu since Anna's sit was not during the cooler hours, but we came home to three happy, relaxed doggies, all of whom had finished off their food (clean bowls), which is a feat in itself in this heat! Everything was left clean and tidy and as arranged re. keys/access, etc. as Anna left before we got home (which was the plan). I would happily book Anna again.

We had never left our dog before but I felt that he was very looked after by Jacqui. I was a little worried about him as we went away at the start of a heatwave but Jacqui kept in touch regularly to let us know how he was doing which was very reassuring. I wouldn’t hesitate to use her again.

Erin was amazing with our 4 month old puppy. She kept her entertained and made sure nap times were enforced. Erin kept to our routine and helped us maintain the training we had started and even did a little extra. I wouldn't hesitate to book Erin in again. Thank you!

Estheffany Spent time with Milo (our 3 year old beagle/cockerpoo cross) in our home for the second time, everything went so smoothly. The dog was happy, the house was tidy, and great updates shared throughout her stay. We'll definitely be in touch for a third booking!

Samantha was great with Dash and remained professional throughout a very difficult situation. During the stay, Dash became distressed after getting a stick lodged in his mouth. While Samantha was trying to help remove it, Dash bit her hand/finger. Because of the incident, we mutually decided not to continue the remainder of the stay. Throughout the entire process, Samantha’s communication was excellent. She kept us updated on everything and remained incredibly kind, patient, and understanding despite the circumstances. We really appreciated her honesty and the grace with which she handled everything. We still highly recommend her as a sitter.

Clare was such a lovely sitter! Wilf, our golden retriever, took her to her straight away and we felt completely comfortable leaving him in her care. She sent photos and gave us regular updates whilst we away and Wilf looked relaxed and happy. ☺️ We would 100% recommend Clare to others and Wilf is already looking forward to seeing her again very soon!

Fiona was wonderful! Really quick to respond and help us out with a couple of last minute dog sitting requests. Fiona was super calm and confident with our lively pup Leila, which made her very relaxed. She even fell asleep on her lap. I came home to a happy dog and was given regular updates and photos throughout the day. Will definitely be rebooking again!

Charlotte is a really great sitter. She immediately bonded with our golden retriever Wilf and we fely completely comfortable leaving her to care for him whilst away for two nights. She gave us regular updates and sent photos too! We came back to a clean house and a happy dog. We have already booked her to look after Wilf for our next holiday! ☺️

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Guildford walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Guildford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
