“Christopher looked after our 2 cats for a few days and we would definitely recommend. He was always prompt and we felt as ease that our cats were taken care of, even though one in particular can be quite nervous. Thank you!”

“I am so pleased that I have Ellie as my cat sitter. She is really kind to the cats, sends me cute comments and videos of them and is great at comms. My real challenge is that I don't want to leave a great review or you will all steal her!!”

“Cleo had a wonderful experience with Sara-Jane and we returned to a very happy cat. Great communication and we felt at ease with all the lovely photos we were sent while on holiday.”

“Theo was absolutely wonderful. I could not have asked to find a better pet carer. If I am going away again I will not hesitate to book with him. He was very thorough and helped me enjoy my time away knowing my cat was in great hands.”

“As usual totally reliable and great company for my aging basset hound who needed settling in and reassurance Charlie is kind , punctual, sensitive to the dogs needs and I can recommend him totally I trust him in my home and am so glad that I have found him.”

About: Most importantly — I have a 4yo miniature dachshund boy of my own called Hurley. I'm extremely loving and keen to spoil my canine friends with plenty of cuddles and attention. Looking after a number of dogs over the years (during lockdown especially) from a miniature dachshund puppy to golden retrievers, samoyeds and labradors, helped me to overcome my anxiety so when I worked remotely I began to dog sit frequently. I bought my first house back in 2018 where I live with Hurley. I have recently decided to take a break from working in Formula 1 in search of a better work life balance which means I am home a lot and keen to socialise Hurley with dogs of a good temperament. I have a small, fenced garden for pups to run around in and dogs have free roam of downstairs. I am a 5 minute walk away from some beautiful walks of all lengths and make sure I get out at least once a day.
“We had to find a sitter last minute and found Erin to be a friendly and professional sitter. Erin popped in for an hour to let Nellie out in the garden and play ball with her. We’ll definitely use Erin again.”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats most my life and my family just loves having pets around. It will be myself taking care of your pet and I can’t wait to meet them :) I work from home and so am home all day and would usually go for the walks in the morning and sometimes the afternoon too, if your pet requires 2 walks, please let me know, I have a fenced off back yard and a lot of space in the house. I can crate your dog if needed (please provide the crate), or he/she can have full roam of the house. My dog gets on very well with other dogs, he is a neutered golden retriever.
“Alycia was really helpful with looking after my dog at short notice. She put my dog at ease even though it was their first time meeting and she was lovely with him which was really appreciated. I got some great pictures and update on how the visit went. Thank you!”

About: After years of begging my parents, we finally got our golden retriever Arlo in 2021. I spent the first few months with him at home, working on training and obedience skills. Now that I live away from my parents, I miss having a dog at home. I am unable to have a dog of my own due to work commitments and my current tenancy so I would love the opportunity to look after a dog at the weekends. I work full time, mostly in the office but will be available on weekends (Friday night- Sunday night) and then potentially some week nights too I have a large fenced garden and a huge park nearby to the house for lots of walks if necessary. happy to accommodate all needs

“Fay was an excellent Mary Poppins for our two cats. We were always excited to receive our check in information updates and pictures of them eating and playing. It was great to see how they quickly trusted her and enjoyed her visits. She was also kind enough to water some of our more needy plants. Full service! Thanks Fay”

About: I have taken care of pets all my life. I grew up with three Sharpeis in the household at all times. I absolutely love dogs and the joy that they bring to our lives. I relocated to the England in 2020 to pursue my medical career. I had moved from Florida where I had my own dog walking company with over 30 customers. This kept me active and allowed me to do something that I enjoyed every day while also making my income. Since moving to England, I have immensely missed the daily interactions I had with dogs. Due to my studying and work in the medical field, I am sadly not ready to commit to owning my own dog. But, I would absolutely love to help you. I am comfortable with walking, Feeding, bathing, medication, etc. Please message me with any questions you may have. Can’t wait to meet your furry friends🤍 I work locum shifts at a GP surgery as a medical professional. This saves me plenty of time to be available to help for pet care I am happy to come to you or happy to host your furry friend at our flat. I live in Central Guilford within a two minute walk to two large parks. I am also a 10 minute walk from Stoke Park.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Guildford
Theo is so great! He is kind, knowledgeable and thorough, giving excellent feedback and working closely with your dog’s behavioural guidelines. He’s a really lovely person who seems very dedicated to offering the best service, and wasn’t put off by my still very bouncy 10-month-old vizsla.

Navania is a very lovely young lady. She looked after our shy cat Katie for 3 weeks. After the first week Katie started to trust her and came out of hiding for her food strokes and play. We would not hesitate to book her for future cat visits. She did everything expected and more.and sent lots of photos. we cannot recommend her highly enough.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
