From One Pet Family to Another
I live in Basingstoke with my family and have been in the UK since 2003, having grown up in South Africa. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I can’t imagine a home without pets in it. I share my home with one awesome little Jack Russell who is truly the centre of my heart and my family’s world. Growing up with pets has taught me how important they are as family members, not “just animals,” and I understand the love, patience, and care they deserve. I’m fortunate to work from home, which means I’m always around for my children and our fur baby. This also allows me to offer reliable, attentive care for other people’s precious companions. I have the time, availability, and genuine passion to help give pets the care, comfort, and attention they need while their owners are away.

Shelley was the perfect the dog sitter for our Vizsla Bailey. She made us feel so comfortable by ensuring she got to know us before the sit by meeting for a few walks prior. Bailey had a wonderful time and made some lovely bonds with her family. During the sit Shelley shared photos everyday of Bailey which was lovely to see her having a great time. We would highly recommend Shelley and her family to sit for your pets!
Shelley looked after my two dogs in our home beautifully. We have a high energy spaniel and a highly needy sausage dog! She kept in touch with regular updates, pictures and videos and they seem extremely happy and well cared for on our return home! Our house was more tidy when we got home than when we left! Thank you so much Shelley for making our holiday completely stress free, we can’t recommend you highly enough ☺️🌟

Schedule
I work flexible hours from home and do the daily school run, but outside of that I’m available for pop-in visits, walks, daycare (at my home or yours), and overnight boarding — both during the week and at weekends.

Safety, trust & environment
Pets in my care are treated as part of the family and looked after in a calm, safe, and loving environment. I live in a family home with children who are kind, gentle, and used to being around animals, as well as our friendly 1-year-old Jack Russell, who is well socialised and loves having company. All interactions are always supervised to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe. In my home, pets are never left alone for long periods and their routines are kept as close as possible to what they’re used to, including feeding times, walks, play, and rest. My home is clean, secure, and pet-safe, with plenty of space for relaxation and play. I carefully consider each booking to ensure it’s a good fit for a home environment and introduce pets slowly and thoughtfully. When caring for pets in an owner’s home, I’m respectful, reliable, and follow all instructions closely to maintain consistency and trust. I understand how important it is to feel confident leaving your pet with someone else, so I treat every animal as if they were my own and provide regular updates and photos for peace of mind.

A typical day
I will play games with dogs and ensure they have fun toys to play with. I will also take them on walks around the neighbourhood to experience new smells and stretch their legs with a good run on the nearby fields.
