About: I have been around dogs my whole life & have rescued 2 dogs of my own (ages 9 & 6) along with regularly caring for family and friends pets. Over the recent years, I have fostered 4 dogs which have included Rottweiler and Cane Corsos. I work from home regularly and on days where I am working in the office (typically 2 days a week) I will have 1 hour break to spend time/let out/walk your dog along with my 2 so they will never be left for more than 4 hours at any one time during the day. I live directly next to a number of large fields which I will ensure your pet has sufficient exercise during their stay. Due to my 2 dogs coming from rescue centres, they are used to being around plenty of dogs of all sizes. As previously mentioned, all dogs that I have cared for in the last 3 years have all come from different backgrounds with some difficult behaviours/personalities so I am able to adapt to any dogs needs. Your pet will have access to my full home and will be allowed on the sofas if this is something your pet is used too. I am also happy to crate your pet should this be their routine, please provide a crate for the duration of their stay. Your pet will receive a minimum of 2 long walks a day with plenty of breaks in the garden during the day with plenty of toys to play with inside too. I have a large fenced garden with plenty of walks nearby without having to travel. Due to having 2 needy dogs they are very rarely left unattended which means your pet will have company 90% of the time. During any stay at your pets home I will ensure that their routine is followed just the same and will remain professional throughout.

“Claire took care of my Luna whilst I was away for the day, took her out to shaded spot as it’s quite hot, and spent time with her 😊 Also made sure that my house key was securely locked away upon leaving. I’d definitely recommend her!”

“Have used Cora a number of times now. Very reassuring to find somebody you are comfortable with to look after your beloved pets. No issues with booking. Times are kept, photos videos shared and no issues on our return. One of our dogs is quite a nervous dog and can be difficult. Cora has been excellent with her so great to hear she has become quite settled with Cora - thanks Cora”

About: Being a veterinary nurse gives me the skill set to care for those pets with additional needs, both medical and behavioural. I have experiance with puppies and kittens, from hand rearing to puppy parties. I enjoy care of senior patients with mobility issues or those needing that extra TLC. I work as a veterinary nurse still but on reduced hours so it will be around my hours. When house sitting I will not be taking on nursing shifts at the same time so I can give your pets my full attention. When caring for your pets in your own home I look to keep there routine as normal as possible. I find the key to happy and settled pets is ensuring there routine isn't disruptive.
“Francesca is great: a fantastic communicator, and really attentive to the needs of my chihuahua. Ruby seemed really relaxed when I got home, even on her first visit. I entirely recommend her services!”

About: Hi, I’m Jako. I am a responsible, loving parent based in Oxford with a deep passion for animals. Because I have children, I understand exactly what it means to trust someone with a loved one. I treat every dog I care for with the same level of patience, safety, and attention to detail that I do my own family. Whether it’s sticking to a strict feeding schedule or knowing exactly how to handle a sudden burst of energy, I am calm, capable, and ready to help. For me, dogs are the ultimate stress-busters. In a busy world, I love how dogs remind us to slow down and enjoy the simple things, a walk in the fresh air, a game of fetch, or a quiet cuddle on the sofa. I love their honesty and their unconditional love. Spending time with dogs brings a genuine smile to my face; their excitement is contagious, and I find their company incredibly therapeutic. As a parent, my life runs on a solid routine. After the morning school drop-off, I have dedicated hours free for long walks and play. I am up early and active all day, meaning I can stick to your pet's feeding and walking schedule perfectly without ever missing a beat. As a parent, my home is secure, child-proofed, and safe. I provide constant supervision in a loving family environment, strictly following your rules and routine.
“Loreta has looked after Mooncake a few times now and I have been consistently impressed and reassured by her care and communication. I highly recommend Loreta and will certainly be booking her services again!”

“First time booking Georgia and very pleased with her service - she was dropping in on my cat for 2 evenings and made sure to take pics of the cat and also how she'd set up the autofeeder to ensure I could see it was set up correctly.”

About: I’ve been caring for pets since 2022 across several platforms, from energetic puppies and affectionate cats to rabbits, lizards, and even the occasional guinea pig. At home, I’m a proud cat mum to Quilla, my 4-year-old feline companion who keeps me on my toes and reminds me how every pet has its own personality and needs. I treat every animal I look after as if they were my own, with patience, love, and a focus on safety and comfort. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, feeding, or following special care instructions, I pay attention to every detail to make sure your furry friend feels secure, stimulated, and happy while you’re away. Since I work from home, I’m around throughout the day to give your pet plenty of attention, companionship, and outdoor breaks. My flexible schedule means I can easily adjust to feeding times, walks, and cuddle breaks, ensuring your pet’s routine stays consistent and stress-free. Our house is a modest size safe home. No children and has a decent garden fully fenced. Our home is a calm, clean, and pet-safe environment, fully equipped for both active pets and those who prefer quiet company. We have secure indoor spaces, a cozy resting area, and plenty of room for play and enrichment. Pets are never left unsupervised, and I always tailor the setup to suit their comfort level and routine.
About: I am a student with plenty of free time and a lifelong love of dogs. I have a 7 year old dog of my own, currently staying in Spain, so I know firsthand what it takes to care for a happy, healthy pup. I enjoy keeping dogs active and entertained whether that's going for walks, hiking, running, or simply having a great time at the park with a ball. Whatever your dog loves, I'm happy to make it happen. I live in my own home in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood surrounded by open land and green spaces, with a wonderful dog loving community nearby. The perfect environment for any dog to feel safe, comfortable, and right at home. I am currently studying for a Master's degree, which only requires me to commute to London a couple of days a week. The rest of the time I am at home studying, or out enjoying outdoor activities and exercise. I will be able to dog the walk as many times is needed. I got my own house with a reasonable garden with artificial grass connected to the kitchen. Also my house is sorrounded by green areas. I always make sure the dog is attended and get fully tired when is the play time.
About: I have experience with dogs and cats. I’ve always had pets growing up and have always absolutely loved all animals. I love enriching pets lives by creating new games and toys to ensure they are not bored! I have all week free due to not currently working due to the SAG strikes! I’m looking to fill my day with making pets days brighter! I have a ground floor flat with a garden. I live near Brockwell Park and love going on walks and would love to take your pets with me!
“Stacey was great: prompt, professional, warm, and enthusiastic. It’s clear she really cares about the animals she looks after, and that she wants their owners to feel confident and reassured. Highly recommended; I’ll certainly use Stacey again when Ruby needs a sitter!”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs for over 6 years now from friends pets to family dogs and I’ve had the chance to look after all kinds of breeds and personalities! I’ve always loved dogs, and nearly two years ago I finally got one of my own my sweet girl, Miko. That experience really taught me just how much time, patience and care dogs need (and deserve!). Looking after dogs is something I genuinely enjoy it keeps me active, boosts my mental health, and just makes me happy. I’m lucky to have the time and flexibility to give them my full attention. Dogs are such loyal, fun, and loving animals, and that’s exactly why I’ve started offering dog walking and sitting services. I truly believe they deserve the best care and I’m here to provide just that! I’m currently self-employed, which gives me the flexibility to set my own schedule. This means I can prioritize dog care and am available any day or time your pup needs me. When I’m not looking after dogs, I work around their schedule so your dog always comes first! I have a secure, fenced garden where dogs can safely play and relax. My own dog Miko, is a friendly and playful female who loves the company of other dogs but she’s also great at reading the room and knows when to settle down. If your dog prefers some quiet time or space to themselves, that’s no problem at all. Miko is very calm and respectful, so your pup can feel comfortable and at ease here. 😋

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Oxfordshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
