“Paula was wonderful with Monty, who is a shy timid cat. However he was very comfortable with Paula, which was very reassuring for me. Paula came punctually each day and followed the instructions for caring for Monty. I would definitely ask her to care for Monty again.”

“Claire looked after my dog for an afternoon while I was out and I'm really happy with the care and attention she provided. My dog was relaxed and happy when I returned home. I will definitely use Claire again.”

About: Growing up with many dogs and being a huge animal lover, this was naturally a job I had to do! I've been a dog walker for years now and have experience with many different types of breeds. Living in a flat I've been unable to have a dog of my own, and after losing my angel of a German Shepherd 2 years ago now this job has been so perfect for me and I enjoy getting to meet all kinds of wonderful pups and giving them the care they deserve 💜 I'm a pet sitter and dog walker full time, so if you have a pup that needs extra attention or cannot be left, then I'm perfect for the job! Please note that I do not have a car and can only get to you via busses, so please make sure there is a bus stop nearby before booking! When looking after pets, their safety is my priority. I like to keep an eye on them and make sure all gates are locked if they enjoy their alone time outside! After experience with my own escape artist husky as a teen, I'm always hyper aware and will never leave front doors or windows open. I also attach all keys to my own to ensure they are safe and cannot be lost! You can trust me to keep your home tidy, water plants and clean up any mess from muddy walks when I'm house sitting! My aim is to always leave your home as tidy and perfect as when I arrive there.

About: We’ve had dogs in my family since I was 4, and now living away from my parents i desperately miss them! We’ve had mostly very active spaniels, as well as more spaniels and terriers in my wider family. I’m very dog-orientated, understand the responsibility of looking after a dog, as well as taking into account the personality and sensitivities and needs of each dog individually. I work full time but work from home twice a week, and can be flexible most weekends with enough notice. I’m very keen to help out with dog sitting, or walking as needed. I have a fenced garden which backs onto a very quiet residents’ car park. We have plenty of green spaces and fields nearby. Our small estate is extremely quiet as well.
“Kate was really good with Luna. Kept us updated all the time with Photos and messages. Luna is very much looking forward to seeing Kate again. Would not hesitate to recommend Kate.”

About: Hello, I’m Steph! I’m a lifelong dog lover offering drop-ins and doggy daycare. I’ve grown up around dogs and share my home with a very friendly cocker spaniel who loves canine company. I’m currently training as a dog groomer, which has given me a strong understanding of gentle handling, patience, and recognising when dogs need space or reassurance. Daycare guests can relax and play in a calm home environment with a secure fenced garden. Whether your dog is energetic, shy, young, or senior, I’ll adapt care to suit them. I’ll always keep you updated with messages and photos so you know your dog is happy and settled. Reach out to me to secure your space! I’m currently training part-time, which allows me to offer flexible and reliable daytime availability for drop-ins and doggy daycare. This means I can provide calm, attentive, and consistent care for your dog. I understand how important it is to feel completely confident leaving your dog in someone else’s care. My home is safe, peaceful, and dog-friendly, with a secure fenced garden for supervised play and fresh air. I create a relaxed environment where dogs can settle comfortably, whether they love activity or prefer a quieter pace. With my own very friendly cocker spaniel, I’m experienced in managing dog dynamics and ensuring positive, stress-free interactions. I’m extremely attentive and always guided by what makes each dog feel happiest and most secure.
About: Hello! My name is Amelia and I’m a dog lover who is currently dogless so would love to help you with yours. Having had a dog previously, I have lots of experience with walking, feeding, bathing and most importantly, giving them attention. I work a mixture of in the office and from home but am very flexible. I live in Witney and have a secure garden should they ever need to come to me. My neighbours have a couple of cats. If you have any questions or would like my help, please do not hesitate to get in touch 😊. I work full time but my hours can be flexible. I also work a mixture of at home and in the office, again this is flexible. I have a terraced house with a secure fenced garden. There is a door between the lounge and front door should I have any unexpected visitors.
About: I am the proud owner of a one-year-old Golden Retriever who is truly part of the family. Having spent many years caring for and walking dogs of all breeds and sizes, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pet. As a member of the RAF based at Brize Norton, I quickly discovered how difficult it can be to find reliable and caring dog care. This inspired me to provide the kind of service I would want for my own dog—safe, loving, and tailored to each dog’s individual needs. During your dog’s stay, either myself or my partner will be at home throughout the day, ensuring your pet is never left alone and receives plenty of attention, companionship, and care. We have a secure, gated garden and a child-free home, providing a calm and safe environment for your dog. We are happy to accommodate your dog’s usual routines and preferences, whether that means relaxing on the sofa, sleeping on the bed, or having access to a crate if they find comfort and security in one. Our goal is to make your dog’s stay feel like a home away from home, giving you complete peace of mind while you’re away. I work shift pattern so my available days will be my days off or when my partner is home so your dog won’t ever be left alone! I have a fenced garden and a 1 year old golden retriever who loves all dogs and will keep your fur baby company during their stay!
About: I love all animals and have grown up with cats and dogs at my family home. Since becoming a nurse, shift work means that although I’d love to have a pet, I know I couldn’t provide the right care and support every day for them now. That’s why I am hoping to look after your loved ones (I have experience with this, both humans and animals!) and will be able to care for a pet that I can’t currently support full time myself. I guarantee your pet will be loved, well looked after, and safe in my hands. I do shift work so availability will be variable but I am fortunate enough to write my own rota and so can adjust my schedule to suit others needs. I wouldn’t be able to board or sit overnight for longer than a night or 2 normally but if it needed to be longer this could be arranged with a good amount of pre-planning. I have a fenced house with easy access to fields and dog walking routes at the back door and I live in a quiet village away from busy roads. I also have a fairly large vehicle for any pick up or drop off needs. I have no current pets or children in my own household and so can offer a relaxed and quiet environment. Despite having my own pets in the past I am respectful of the training and behaviours you instil with your own pets and will do my utmost to follow this.

About: Hi, I’m Lucy - a reliable and experienced dog lover based in Charlbury 🐾 I provide a calm, home-from-home environment for dogs, where they are treated like part of the family. I live in a spacious home on the edge of Charlbury, surrounded by beautiful countryside walks, and I have a very flexible schedule so your dog will get plenty of time, attention, and care throughout the day. I’ve been around dogs my whole life and grew up around my dad’s work as a police dog handler and trainer, giving me experience with dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. I’ve also raised my own dogs from puppies and have experience with senior dogs, so I understand the different needs they may have. At home currently, I have two friendly and well-socialised dogs: • Kobe, a 5 year old cockapoo, who is calm, gentle, and very relaxed • Ovie, a 1 year old toy poodle, who is playful, friendly, and loves other dogs Both are great with other dogs and have spent plenty of time around dogs of all sizes, ages and many different temperaments. Your dog will be cared for in a relaxed household setting, with: • Daily walks (morning and afternoon) • Lots of attention and companionship throughout the day • Comfortable and flexible sleeping arrangements (crates available if preferred) • The option to socialise or have their own space if needed We also have a secure patio garden and a fully sectioned home, so I can easily adapt the environment depending on your dog’s needs and personality. I understand how important it is to feel confident leaving your dog with someone, so I’ll always keep you updated with photos and messages to give you peace of mind. I’d love to meet you and your dog so feel free to get in touch! 🐶🩷 I currently have a very flexible schedule, so I’m able to give dogs plenty of time, attention, and supervision throughout the day. My own dogs are walked every morning and at least once again in the afternoon, with a mix of longer countryside walks and shorter outings depending on their needs. Dogs staying with me are included in this routine and are rarely left alone or can be supervised at all times if required, making this ideal for dogs who enjoy company and a home environment. I provide a safe, calm, and home-from-home environment where dogs are treated as part of the family. I live in a spacious home with plenty of room to relax, and I can easily section areas of the house if a dog needs their own space. I have two very friendly, well-socialised dogs, and I always introduce dogs carefully to make sure everyone is comfortable. We have a secure patio garden for outdoor time, and we’re surrounded by beautiful countryside walks. Dogs are walked at least twice daily, with a mix of longer and shorter walks depending on their needs. I’m happy to walk dogs on or off lead (with owner consent), depending on their recall, temperament, and what they’re used to. All walks are done with safety as the top priority. I also have access to nearby secure dog fields, which are a great option for safe, enclosed off-lead exercise and playtime, particularly for dogs who enjoy more freedom or need a secure space for a good run around. I have experience with dogs of all ages and temperaments, and I’m confident adapting care to suit each dog’s individual needs. Crates can be provided if preferred. We also have a very calm, elderly cat who keeps to himself and has his own space away from the dogs. I’m always happy to provide regular updates, photos, and messages so you can feel completely at ease while you’re away.

Amy helped us out super short notice and was so communicative and patient whilst we figured out what we needed and booked it in. Our pup Charlie was a very relaxed and a happy boy on our return home - Amy sent us pics and updates which was lovely too! Would 10/10 recommend!! Thanks so much Amy!

Imogen accepted a very last minute request to watch our puppy Charlie for an hour - she was super prompt in accepting, very communicative and did a wonderful job with Charlie whilst we were out! She kept us updated with pics and Charlie was a happy sleepy boy on our return. Would 100% recommend Imogen - a very safe and trustworthy pair of hands!🥰

We can happily go on holiday knowing our cat’s in safe hands with Utku. On his very first visit to our home, he had such a natural way with animals that it felt like they’d known each other for ages. Our cat was well fed, well cared for, and never short of attention. If you’re looking for someone you can fully trust with your furry mate, Utku’s the one.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Oxfordshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
