“Paula was wonderful with Monty, who is a shy timid cat. However he was very comfortable with Paula, which was very reassuring for me. Paula came punctually each day and followed the instructions for caring for Monty. I would definitely ask her to care for Monty again.”

About: We’ve had dogs in my family since I was 4, and now living away from my parents i desperately miss them! We’ve had mostly very active spaniels, as well as more spaniels and terriers in my wider family. I’m very dog-orientated, understand the responsibility of looking after a dog, as well as taking into account the personality and sensitivities and needs of each dog individually. I work full time but work from home twice a week, and can be flexible most weekends with enough notice. I’m very keen to help out with dog sitting, or walking as needed. I have a fenced garden which backs onto a very quiet residents’ car park. We have plenty of green spaces and fields nearby. Our small estate is extremely quiet as well.
“Deniz was very lovely with our cat, and we were so grateful for the time she spent with her not just feeding but also playing. Very reliable and friendly, we would absolutely book Deniz again!”

About: Hi, I’m Kate! ❤️🐾 I’m a caring and reliable dog lover based in Witney, and I treat every dog as part of the family. I know how hard it can be to leave your dog with someone new, so my priority is making them feel safe, loved and comfortable. I follow each dog’s usual routine, including feeding, walks and medication if needed, to help them settle in quickly. Your dog will enjoy a calm home, plenty of attention, cuddles and walks tailored to their needs. I only take a small number of dogs at a time, so every guest gets lots of one to one care. I’ll also send regular photo and video updates, so you can relax knowing your dog is happy while you’re away. My schedule is flexible and centred around the dogs in my care. I keep a calm, structured routine with plenty of time for walks, play, rest and one to one attention. I always try to follow your dog’s normal routine so they feel safe and settled. I provide a calm, safe and loving home where every dog is treated like family. I only take a small number of dogs at a time, allowing me to give each one plenty of attention. I’m happy to follow feeding schedules, administer medication if needed and accommodate your dog’s usual routine. Dogs are welcome on the sofa and bed if that’s what they’re used to.
“Imogen accepted a very last minute request to watch our puppy Charlie for an hour - she was super prompt in accepting, very communicative and did a wonderful job with Charlie whilst we were out! She kept us updated with pics and Charlie was a happy sleepy boy on our return. Would 100% recommend Imogen - a very safe and trustworthy pair of hands!🥰”

About: I am the proud owner of a one-year-old Golden Retriever who is truly part of the family. Having spent many years caring for and walking dogs of all breeds and sizes, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pet. As a member of the RAF based at Brize Norton, I quickly discovered how difficult it can be to find reliable and caring dog care. This inspired me to provide the kind of service I would want for my own dog—safe, loving, and tailored to each dog’s individual needs. During your dog’s stay, either myself or my partner will be at home throughout the day, ensuring your pet is never left alone and receives plenty of attention, companionship, and care. We have a secure, gated garden and a child-free home, providing a calm and safe environment for your dog. We are happy to accommodate your dog’s usual routines and preferences, whether that means relaxing on the sofa, sleeping on the bed, or having access to a crate if they find comfort and security in one. Our goal is to make your dog’s stay feel like a home away from home, giving you complete peace of mind while you’re away. I work shift pattern so my available days will be my days off or when my partner is home so your dog won’t ever be left alone! I have a fenced garden and a 1 year old golden retriever who loves all dogs and will keep your fur baby company during their stay!

I also have a friendly Cocker Spaniel who enjoys the company of other dogs. I’m happy to provide regular photo updates so owners feel reassured while they are away. I work part-time, so I’m often at home during the day. When I’m out, my partner is always home, so your pets are never left alone and always have company. “Lily did a very good job, I'm so grateful! She took good care of my cat, she was very communicative and I really appreciated all the work as she went beyond. I'd definitely book with her again!”

I'll make sure they have fresh water after their walk, clean muddy paws if needed, and give them plenty of affection and reassurance throughout our time together. I'll keep you updated with regular messages and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, well cared for, and in safe hands. My goal is to provide dependable, loving care that gives both you and your pet complete peace of mind.
“Claire did a wonderful job. I was very worried about leaving the dogs as one of them is a very nervous, needy rescue dog who I have only had for six weeks or so. They were both very happy and relaxed when we got back from our long day in London, and had clearly had a very nice time with Claire. I will definitely be asking her to help again if needed.”

About: I've always been surrounded by animals, having been responsible for my own pets from a very young age. I'm currently studying Animal Behaviour and Welfare at Hartpury university and as such I have learnt/am learning about a range of different animals. I'm currently at university 3 days a week and will be available to pet sit, walk, or do drop ins primarily in the evenings. However, I am available Wednesday and Thursday as well as weekends. I provide attentive and compassionate care tailored to your animals individual personalities and routines. By monitoring behaviour and comfort, as well as maintaining a secure environment I ensure the safety of your animals. I respect customers homes and offer regular video or photo communication if you would prefer.

“Emily is amazing! Very clear and easy communication, very accommodating to the cat’s needs and she also sent regular updates. Our cat was very happy on our return, would definitely recommend and contact again in the future.”

“We were really pleased with the care and attention given to Our Dog over the weekend. The drop-in visits were reliable, professional, and gave us real peace of mind while we were away. It was clear our Luna was well looked after, happy, and comfortable. Communication from Anna was excellent throughout, with updates and reassurance that everything was going smoothly. We would happily recommend and would definitely book again.”

“Kate was really good with Luna. Kept us updated all the time with Photos and messages. Luna is very much looking forward to seeing Kate again. Would not hesitate to recommend Kate.”

About: I absolutely love dogs of all kinds. I have a dog since I was tiny. My last dog we had for 17 years, a lovely family Jack Russell who is greatly missed. Im currently working part-time and when working from home have flexibility to fit in caring for pets. I normally have a few days free per week. I feed animals, play with them, talk to them and if needed can groom them and take them for walks. I am able to clear and replace cat litter. I would be happy to give medication if needed.
About: I love all animals and have grown up with cats and dogs at my family home. Since becoming a nurse, shift work means that although I’d love to have a pet, I know I couldn’t provide the right care and support every day for them now. That’s why I am hoping to look after your loved ones (I have experience with this, both humans and animals!) and will be able to care for a pet that I can’t currently support full time myself. I guarantee your pet will be loved, well looked after, and safe in my hands. I do shift work so availability will be variable but I am fortunate enough to write my own rota and so can adjust my schedule to suit others needs. I wouldn’t be able to board or sit overnight for longer than a night or 2 normally but if it needed to be longer this could be arranged with a good amount of pre-planning. I have a fenced house with easy access to fields and dog walking routes at the back door and I live in a quiet village away from busy roads. I also have a fairly large vehicle for any pick up or drop off needs. I have no current pets or children in my own household and so can offer a relaxed and quiet environment. Despite having my own pets in the past I am respectful of the training and behaviours you instil with your own pets and will do my utmost to follow this.
About: Growing up with many dogs and being a huge animal lover, this was naturally a job I had to do! I've been a dog walker for years now and have experience with many different types of breeds. Living in a flat I've been unable to have a dog of my own, and after losing my angel of a German Shepherd 2 years ago now this job has been so perfect for me and I enjoy getting to meet all kinds of wonderful pups and giving them the care they deserve 💜 I'm a pet sitter and dog walker full time, so if you have a pup that needs extra attention or cannot be left, then I'm perfect for the job! Please note that I do not have a car and can only get to you via busses, so please make sure there is a bus stop nearby before booking! When looking after pets, their safety is my priority. I like to keep an eye on them and make sure all gates are locked if they enjoy their alone time outside! After experience with my own escape artist husky as a teen, I'm always hyper aware and will never leave front doors or windows open. I also attach all keys to my own to ensure they are safe and cannot be lost! You can trust me to keep your home tidy, water plants and clean up any mess from muddy walks when I'm house sitting! My aim is to always leave your home as tidy and perfect as when I arrive there.

We couldn’t have asked for anyone better to come and look after our cats. Communication beforehand and during were fantastic with daily photos and video. Helps to give peace of mind while away and we were absolutely confident the cats were well looked after. Very knowledgeable about cats and they were comfortable with Paula from the first meeting.

Amy helped us out super short notice and was so communicative and patient whilst we figured out what we needed and booked it in. Our pup Charlie was a very relaxed and a happy boy on our return home - Amy sent us pics and updates which was lovely too! Would 10/10 recommend!! Thanks so much Amy!

We can happily go on holiday knowing our cat’s in safe hands with Utku. On his very first visit to our home, he had such a natural way with animals that it felt like they’d known each other for ages. Our cat was well fed, well cared for, and never short of attention. If you’re looking for someone you can fully trust with your furry mate, Utku’s the one.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Oxfordshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
