“Mushroom had a fantastic time with Veena and family that he didn’t want to leave. Being a Springer Spaniel Mushroom can be very frisky, but Veena was able to manage him very well. He got his long walks and play time and was very well taken care of. It was very obvious that Veena loved and understood dogs and very quickly was able to adapt to Mushroom’s needs. They were flex and accommodating. The big yard in the back is a definite plus. Will definitely leave Mushroom here again. Highly recommended.”

Luna had a lovely time with Caroline, lots of walks and she got to meet and stay with other dogs in a home from home. Caroline kept us up to date frequently with photos and messages, she looks after her visitors like they were her own! I would definitely book with her again and would'nt hesitate to recommend her to others. Thank you again Caroline xx

This was the first time I've left Albert with anyone I didn't know so was a little hesitant as you can imagine. Olivia offered to do an initial meet which definitely helped with my nerves, she kept me updated while I was away with pics also, was very communicative throughout the whole time, and really understood the needs/routine of my dog well. Albert came back home really happy, I could tell he had been well looked after, highly recommend her for anyone who needs their dog looked after. I will definitely be in touch again to look after Albert.

Katie has been absolutely fantastic from start to end. She gave us reassurance over the settings (house and garden) as having a rescue dog, we were a bit worried our dog may want to get out. But Katie went the extra mile and measured and photographed her fence and also used a tracking device on our pooch. I truly felt our dog had an amazing holiday too whilst we were away. The whole family has looked after her brilliantly and cared for her as if they were her owners. I was also amazed by how highly communicative Katie has been the whole time with pictures and videos. I would definitely recommend Katie to others but also we will use her services in the future.

Ebony was our first Rover pet sitter. She took well to all the instructions to take care of Tilly. I received updates and any inquiries regarding Tilly the response came quickly. Tilly is easy company, despite her ability to pull on the lead with new walkers whom she need to obey or her “chancer” antics to try eat food that is rubbished on walks, seems like Ebony got hang of Tilly. I would hope to have Ebony again for future care for Tilly as she seems fine when we got her, back to her normal routine and peaceful sleep.

Anna took great care of my nervous dog. She arranged a meet and greet ahead of time and was very communicative leading up to his visit. She shared a photo of him settling in after the drop off and made sure his stay was comfortable. I trust her to treat my dog like her own!

She took such wonderful care of Odin and really went above and beyond. With the heatwave, she even woke up early to make sure he could have his walk before it became too hot, and followed all of his care instructions diligently. I left Odin with her for two nights and a day while I was away for work, and when I picked him up, he was happy and completely himself — as though I’d never been away! It was really reassuring knowing he was so well looked after. I’d happily leave Odin in her care again. 😊

Absolutely fantastic dog sitter - Joanne kept me updated about my dog throughout the weekend and sent photos and videos. He was super happy and tired when I picked him up. Joanne wasn’t phased by my dog being somewhat reactive to other dogs, and also managed his medication really easily. Thank you so much!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
