“Woody had a wonderful time with Anna. They seem to have had a lot of adventures, and when we went to pick him up he was completely chilled and relaxed. Anna provided lots of updates and photos so we knew our boy was in safe hands. Would completely recommend Anna.”

“Shelley was the perfect the dog sitter for our Vizsla Bailey. She made us feel so comfortable by ensuring she got to know us before the sit by meeting for a few walks prior. Bailey had a wonderful time and made some lovely bonds with her family. During the sit Shelley shared photos everyday of Bailey which was lovely to see her having a great time. We would highly recommend Shelley and her family to sit for your pets!”

“Eve was a great sitter for our Lady. Especially under the extreme circumstances of the heatwave. We had some updates, and Eve amended the care plan to fit the extra heat situation too. Will be rebooking for next month. Thank you for taking good care of our girl. Much appreciated. 🙏🏼💖”

About: As a dog owner myself, and with lots of experience looking after family/friend's pets, I understand the importance of giving your pets plenty of attention, love, exercise & play 🦮🦴 I'm reliable, patient, and genuinely love spending time with animals ❤️ I'll make sure your furry friend has lots of play & cuddles 🐶☺️🐾 Caring for pets fits naturally into my daily routine as I already care for my own dog. I can provide regular walks & lots of attention throughout the day 🦮🦴 Your pet's safety & wellbeing are my top priorities. I understand that every pet has different needs & routines. I provide a calm, caring environment & will treat your pet as if they were my own, with plenty of affection & supervision 🐾
“Ekko had a great time with Belinda on his first time away from home! He's a bit of a handful as a big overactive puppy but she managed him amazingly, he had plenty of exercise and I got plenty of updates on how he was. Thank you!”

“Fly had a good stay with these sitters. She was looked after very well and I was kept informed by messages and videos of how she was doing. I would certainly leave her here again. Thank you and well done.”

“Sadie's two night stay went very positively with this sitter 😊 We had a very good initial meet and greet and felt very comfortable leaving Sadie in their home. I appreciated a couple of updates during her stay and was happy to see her settling in well! Sadie is an older and quieter dog and this sitter provided for her needs very well. I would definitely recommend this sitter based on my experience.”

“Obi stayed with Nicola overnight on quite short notice, and Nicola couldn’t have been more flexible or accommodating to our requests and timings. She and her family treated Obi like one of their own and were incredibly considerate of his needs, making sure he was safe in the sun and comfortable in their home. We received plenty of updates and photos of how he was getting on and we wouldn’t hesitate to leave Obi in Nicola’s care again!”

“My one year old cocker spaniel had a fabulous 10 days with Mikayla and Alec! Mikayla arranged a meet and greet to check he would get on with their dog Susan and wanted to know his routine, likes, dislikes etc so she would know how to care for him. He was treated like one of the family and got on with Susan brilliantly. Mikayla kept me updated with frequent photos so I knew he was getting on well. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mikayla to anyone looking for a boarder who will care for your dog like their own 🐶”

“Kenzo had an amazing time!! She really looked after him and made sure he had enough exercise throughout the day. He is quite a fussy dog so she did everything to make sure he is eating enough and most importantly, she was constantly updating me and sending me pictures and videos of him while I was away. Highly recommended and will definitely be rebooking!! :)”

“Thank you Ella, Patrick and Nova for looking after Teddy. The photos and updates were so reassuring. I've never left Teddy with anyone (except my sister) before so I was a bit worried he might be sad. I didn't need to worry! Ella and co took great care of Teddy taking him on walks and played fetch, his favourite things to do, I could tell from the photos he was very happy and contented. I would not hesitate to contact Ella again if needed, she's warm and friendly and I can tell a natural with our precious pooches . Thank you again, Teddy sends hugs and licks.”

About: I have loved dogs and animals all my life and have many years of hands-on experience caring for and training dogs. I grew up with a Border Collie and had my beautiful Golden Retriever for 14 years. I now have Hudson, my two-year-old chocolate Labrador, who I trained from a puppy. I understand that every dog has their own personality, needs and routine, and I take the time to make them feel safe, happy and settled. I am patient, caring and responsible, and genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs, whether that’s walking, playing, cuddling or simply keeping them company. New to Rover, but certainly not new to dogs. 🐶 I work a mix of home and office-based hours, giving me good flexibility for pet care. My day starts with an early 5.30am walk, and I usually spend only a couple of hours in the office before working from home. I am home with Hudson for most of the day and we have another walk every evening, usually covering 4–5 miles a day. I can offer boarding and walks depending on your dog’s needs and my availability. I have a secure, fully fenced garden and a safe, comfortable home where dogs can relax and feel at ease. I have plenty of space and can use separate rooms if dogs need their own space or time to settle. Hudson is friendly and used to being around other dogs, but I understand that every dog is different and will always follow their individual routine and needs. I will provide plenty of supervision, exercise, affection and attention so your dog feels safe and cared for while they are with me.
“Harry had the best time with Gloria!! He was completely spoiled and probably would’ve preferred to stay there as opposed to come home! We will definitely be using them again! They treated Harry as one of their own 🐶 🐾”

“Eleanor could not have done more to ensure a fantastic stay for Lisa, even collecting and dropping off to help me out. Lisa had a fantastic time with Custard, Peter (and the cat) and came back full of health and bounce. I could not rate Eleanor and family more highly.”

About: A little about me 🐾 I’m basically the go to pet sitter for friends and family, although I don’t have any pets of my own at the moment, I’m usually looking after everyone else’s! Whether they come and stay with me or I stay at theirs, I absolutely love having animals around. I treat every pet like they’re my own - lots of walks, adventures, playtime, cuddles and of course…plenty of treats 🐶🐱 I love taking dogs out on fun days, finding new places to explore and making sure they’re having just as good a time as their humans are. I’m also more than happy with a cosy night in and some four-legged company. Basically, your pet will be thoroughly spoilt, very well loved and probably wonder why you’ve come back so soon! 💜 I’m currently working as a freelancer, so I work from home and have lots of flexibility with my time. This means I can easily fit pet care around my day rather than leaving them alone for long periods. I actually love having a reason to step away from my laptop for a walk, so it works perfectly for both me and the pet! I’m happy to adapt my routine around their usual walks, feeding times and needs. I’m happy to either have pets stay at my home or look after them in their own home, depending on what works best for them. At my home, I have a fully fenced garden, big comfy sofas and plenty of space for them to relax and feel at home. I’ll keep to their normal routine as much as possible, with lots of walks, playtime, attention and, of course, cuddles! If I’m staying at a pet owner’s home, I’ll make sure their pet is comfortable and cared for in their familiar surroundings, while sticking to their usual routine and any specific instructions you leave me.
“Leanne thank you for taking such good care of Baxter while I was away. All of your photos and updates were great so I could enjoy my holiday knowing Baxter was in good hands and having a great time!”

“Took my young labrador for a little holiday. Not had him long myself. He did not have the best start in life. We went to Sam a week beforehand and discussed the issues with him. Sam took the time to train him in the 3 days she had him. I had regular daily updates and photos and more. Thoroughly recommend for a dog holiday. I had no worries with him there.”

Rila had a great time staying with Gloria whilst I was away and got on really well with Marley! I was sent so many lovely photos and videos updating me how she was doing and what they were getting up to, which made being apart all that more comfortable. I would have absolutely leave Rila with them again - thank you for taking such good care!!! :)

Kat was absolutely incredible with my 11-week-old puppy, Taz! Leaving such a young pup while away could have been nerve-wracking, but Kat provided daily updates, stuck strictly to his routine, and even kept up with his ongoing training. Knowing he was in such capable and caring hands gave me complete peace of mind so I could fully enjoy my holiday. I couldn't have asked for a better sitter and highly recommend Kat to anyone looking for top-tier care!

Our labrador, Bertie, has just had an 8 night stay with Josh. It was the first time we'd left him, so we were a bit apprehensive. We met Josh for an initial walk, then Bertie had a trial day before his 'holiday'. He had the best time, he loved being with Josh's dogs and the different experience of being with someone else. We had lots of updates and there were no issues. We are pleased to have found a place for Bertie to go in the future. Thank you!

Belinda is amazing! She is really friendly and has a lovely energy. She is clearly a dog lover and I felt very reassured and comfortable leaving my elderly dog with her. She sent daily updates and pictures and my boy clearly had a wonderful time. I would definitely recommend Belinda!

My dog loves Alicia and could tell he is very comfortable around her and in her house, he would always want to go in whenever we go past hers on our walk. He feels at home at Alicia’s and would always runs straight upstairs when I drop him off. Alicia keeps me updated on how my dog is doing and share pictures when the day is finished which I always look forward to. She is our favourite Dogsitter in the area 💯

Shelley was the perfect the dog sitter for our Vizsla Bailey. She made us feel so comfortable by ensuring she got to know us before the sit by meeting for a few walks prior. Bailey had a wonderful time and made some lovely bonds with her family. During the sit Shelley shared photos everyday of Bailey which was lovely to see her having a great time. We would highly recommend Shelley and her family to sit for your pets!

Anisha was amazing with our little Nani and took great care of her whilst we were away for a week. We received many photo updates of Nani happily playing with her dog Storm, and we are sure Nani was sad to see their time together come to an end. We would highly recommend Anisha as a fantastic and trustworthy dog sitter!

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
