“Poppy had the most wonderful time with Anna! Anna clearly loves dogs and Poppy took to her immediately when they met. Anna kept me updated with very cute pics and provided Poppy with all the love and attention she likes to have! I wouldn't hesitate to leave Poppy with Anna again - I know Poppy would adore it!”

“Eve was a great sitter for our Lady. Especially under the extreme circumstances of the heatwave. We had some updates, and Eve amended the care plan to fit the extra heat situation too. Will be rebooking for next month. Thank you for taking good care of our girl. Much appreciated. 🙏🏼💖”

“Ekko had a great time with Belinda on his first time away from home! He's a bit of a handful as a big overactive puppy but she managed him amazingly, he had plenty of exercise and I got plenty of updates on how he was. Thank you!”

“If Niro could speak, he'd be saying he wants to go back again. Great communication, and updates with photos s. During the stay. He clearly had a great time, and met his new friend Bailey. I can definitely recommend as a sitter if you want your dog liked after.”

“This was Peaches’ 2nd stay with Helen, arranged at short notice which was very helpful! Peaches and Helen have formed a precious bond, it was delightful to see Peaches so happy and excited running towards Helen and going into her house, evidently feeling very at home. Lovely house, garden and rural environment. Helen looked after Peaches brilliantly and was vigilant regarding Peaches’ joint issues, and gave her medicine accordingly. We have another stay booked for our summer holiday.”

“Sadie's two night stay went very positively with this sitter 😊 We had a very good initial meet and greet and felt very comfortable leaving Sadie in their home. I appreciated a couple of updates during her stay and was happy to see her settling in well! Sadie is an older and quieter dog and this sitter provided for her needs very well. I would definitely recommend this sitter based on my experience.”

“Hi! I just wanted to say a huge thank you for looking after Dash over the last four days. You did such an amazing job, and I really appreciated the daily updates and photos—they gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that Dash was happy, well cared for, and in great hands the whole time. Thank you for taking such good care of him and treating him like your own. I wouldn’t hesitate to ask you again in the future and would happily recommend you to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter. Thanks again!”

“Georgia looked after Alfie on short notice for us. He was well loved and came home, after a sleep over, tired from all the fun he had. She replied quickly to my many check in messages. This is the first time we've used Rover and left our dog with someone we don't know, so it was very reassuring.”

“Shelley was the perfect the dog sitter for our Vizsla Bailey. She made us feel so comfortable by ensuring she got to know us before the sit by meeting for a few walks prior. Bailey had a wonderful time and made some lovely bonds with her family. During the sit Shelley shared photos everyday of Bailey which was lovely to see her having a great time. We would highly recommend Shelley and her family to sit for your pets!”

“We had an excellent experience with Tara and her lovely family. A big THANK YOU to her and her family. They are warm, welcoming, and clearly genuine dog lovers. Our dog was so comfortable and well cared for, and the regular updates and photos were very reassuring. They extended their help and support during Christmas and treated Benji like their own, it meant so much. I could relax knowing he was in such a kind and loving household. We would absolutely recommend them without hesitation.”

About: We’re lifelong dog lovers that can’t wait to give your pup as much love as possible. We currently have a cocker spaniel x dachshund of our own that we’ve raised from a puppy, so we understand the patience, consistency, and care it takes to support them through every stage of life. On top of that, my partner (Grace) grew up with dogs so she has been surrounded by wagging tails and wet noses for as long as she can remember. Over the years, we’ve learned a lot about dog behavior, body language, and the importance of positive reinforcement. This knowledge has been incredibly helpful not just with our own dog, but also when caring for other people’s pets, whether its giving energetic pups an outlet, or sticking to training routines we’re happy to help. We know how important it is to keep dogs on their own schedule and in line with the habits they’re used to, so we’re happy to follow any training, feeding, walking, or play requirements you have in place. For us, dogs are part of our family. Our goal is to give your pet a safe, loving, and fun experience every time they’re with us so you can have peace of mind knowing they’re in great hands. Grace works full time from home with the odd day in the office but Tom works from home when Grace is in the office so there is always someone at home. We have a small fenced garden to keep your puppy safe, and as we mentioned before we have a dog of our own so walks and playtime are already in our routine. Our pup loves to snuggle up in the evenings so we would love for yours to join us too.
“Honestly would rate Mikayla higher if I could! I booked very last minute due to kennel cancellation the day before I was flying abroad! Mikayla met me and my dog Luna for a quick meet and greet and all went so well with both Luna and her dog Susan. Luna is a Weimaraner and is naturally a nervous dog but she took to them very quickly. I received beautiful pictures and updates during her weekend stay and felt so relaxed knowing Luna was being looked after and loved while I was away. I will 100% use Mikayla in the future and would highly recommend her services.”
“I feel so lucky to have found Ella. She treated Clover like family and included her in everything from walks to the family BBQ! Clover loved her dog and came home completely tuckered! Clover can’t wait to visit Ella again!”

“Kenzo had an amazing time!! She really looked after him and made sure he had enough exercise throughout the day. He is quite a fussy dog so she did everything to make sure he is eating enough and most importantly, she was constantly updating me and sending me pictures and videos of him while I was away. Highly recommended and will definitely be rebooking!! :)”

“Sam and Rob are clearly dog lovers and welcomed Boni and Truffle into their home, where they settled very well. They were given lots of cuddles and love. Sam kept me updated several times a day with newsy reports and photos of their daily antics! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a loving home from home. Thank you so much Sam and Rob for everything!”

“Emma and her husband looked after my puppy for the night, they were both very understanding as unfortunately he became ill overnight after being at a dog show and eating something that didn’t agree with him. Very good communication and very understanding with a stressful situation.”

“Very happy to have found Jess! I could tell from the meet and greet that Wilbur would be well looked after and treated as one of the family. He had a great time with Jess, lots of time playing outdoors and plenty of snoozing and Jess sent lots of photos so I could see how he was getting on through the day. Would highly recommend Jess for your dog care.”

“Nicola was really lovely looking after Ailsa for me last weekend; she was very welcoming and caring, kind and I would definitely recommend Nicola for the future to looking after Ailsa again. First class , thank you 🙏 😊🐕🦺🐾”

Highly recommended! My two boys are a boisterous pair (Lab and Cockerpoo) who need space, attention and lots of activity which is exactly what they received with James and his family. They can be an overwhelming combination so a calm atmosphere with plenty of cuddles is a home from home for them. James sent lots of photos so that we could relax and enjoy our weekend on hols and our dogs bonded with Bailey straight away. Carson the Lab even got a good brush - he sheds like you wouldn't believe - and both boys came home happy and relaxed. Our Cockerpoo is a Covid pup and my little shadow whilst I work at home so he in particular needs lots of doggo-time. We will definitely be booking with James again!

We couldn't have asked for a better overnight sitter for our two Labrador Retrievers. Leanne was lovely, kept us updated throughout their stay with regular messages and photos, and gave us complete peace of mind. It was clear our dogs were happy, relaxed, and very well looked after. We'd happily book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter. Thank you!

Eve was a great sitter for our Lady. Especially under the extreme circumstances of the heatwave. We had some updates, and Eve amended the care plan to fit the extra heat situation too. Will be rebooking for next month. Thank you for taking good care of our girl. Much appreciated. 🙏🏼💖

My dog loves Alicia and could tell he is very comfortable around her and in her house, he would always want to go in whenever we go past hers on our walk. He feels at home at Alicia’s and would always runs straight upstairs when I drop him off. Alicia keeps me updated on how my dog is doing and share pictures when the day is finished which I always look forward to. She is our favourite Dogsitter in the area 💯

I would highly recommend using Anna! She was so good with our dog and really took time to get to know him so that he could be as happy as possible when staying with her. She treated him as her own and took him on all kinds of adventures and kept us updated the whole time so we didn’t feel worried once.

Shelley was the perfect the dog sitter for our Vizsla Bailey. She made us feel so comfortable by ensuring she got to know us before the sit by meeting for a few walks prior. Bailey had a wonderful time and made some lovely bonds with her family. During the sit Shelley shared photos everyday of Bailey which was lovely to see her having a great time. We would highly recommend Shelley and her family to sit for your pets!

Charlotte was absolutely wonderful with Zoey! It was our first time leaving her, but the regular photo updates kept my mind completely at ease. Zoey looked so happy and relaxed in every shot, which tells me she felt right at home. I can’t recommend Charlotte enough for her communication and genuine care. We will definitely be booking again! 🐾

Anisha was amazing with our little Nani and took great care of her whilst we were away for a week. We received many photo updates of Nani happily playing with her dog Storm, and we are sure Nani was sad to see their time together come to an end. We would highly recommend Anisha as a fantastic and trustworthy dog sitter!

Emma and her husband looked after my puppy for the night, they were both very understanding as unfortunately he became ill overnight after being at a dog show and eating something that didn’t agree with him. Very good communication and very understanding with a stressful situation.

Thank you Albee and Lily for taking such good care of Baxter. Loved the updates I got whilst aboard so that I could focus on my holiday without worrying about him. Thank you for dropping him home last night and sorting him out before I got home - appreciate you both going above and beyond to make sure he was home safe and sound!!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
