About: Myself and Ben have both grown up surrounded by family pets and have always had a huge love for animals. Over the years, we've been the go-to pet sitters for family and friends, caring for dogs and cats for anything from a single day to several weeks at a time. Sadly, we lost our beloved 18-year-old cat last year. While we're not quite ready for another permanent furry family member, we would love the opportunity to share our home, care, and affection with your pets. We understand how important it is to know your pet is safe, happy, and well looked after while you're away. Whether it's walks, feeding, playtime, cuddles, sticking to their usual routine, or simply providing companionship, we're happy to help. We'll treat your pet as if they were our own and make sure they receive plenty of love, attention, and care. I currently work from home full time Monday - Friday and my partner is at home 2-3 days during the week; this means we are on hand to give your pet the best care. We live in a home with a flat, secure garden, perfect for supervised outdoor time, and an open-plan living space downstairs. We do not have any other pets or children so if any specifics are needed (i.e dog beds / crate) these will have to be provided.
“What an absolute 5 star find 🌟 Anna was amazing with a 2 day and overnight stay! My princess was treated like royalty and came home super happy. Will absolutely be using Anna again.”

“Belinda was a very last minute emergency booking for an overnight stay and our first one through Rover. She was so lovely and understanding and sent some lovely pictures of our doggo. She sent us updates and was so accommodating. Would definitely book her again (if she'll have us!)”

“I’d like to thank James and his family for looking after Pepper so well. For me finding someone who realised and understood how nervous I was leaving her with anyone was so important, she’s basically my emotional support dog(but aren’t they all). I needn’t have worried. She was welcomed into James’ family and was treated as one of their own. James sent updates daily which allowed me to relax into and enjoy my holiday safe in the knowledge that Pepper was being well looked after. Pepper is quite a needy dog, a “lock down pup”, so all the cuddles and attention was exactly what she wanted and she befriended James’ dog Bailey which was wonderful to see. I will definitely be asking James to look after Pepper again and can without hesitation recommend him.”

“Helen looked after our French Bulldog perfectly and our pup clearly developed trust and affection immediately. It was only for a few days but she was completely at home and happy when we picked her up. We have more trips away than usual this year and will definitely be returning and are so happy we know our beloved Frenchie will be having an amazing time!”

About: We’re lifelong dog lovers that can’t wait to give your pup as much love as possible. We currently have a cocker spaniel x dachshund of our own that we’ve raised from a puppy, so we understand the patience, consistency, and care it takes to support them through every stage of life. On top of that, my partner (Grace) grew up with dogs so she has been surrounded by wagging tails and wet noses for as long as she can remember. Over the years, we’ve learned a lot about dog behavior, body language, and the importance of positive reinforcement. This knowledge has been incredibly helpful not just with our own dog, but also when caring for other people’s pets, whether its giving energetic pups an outlet, or sticking to training routines we’re happy to help. We know how important it is to keep dogs on their own schedule and in line with the habits they’re used to, so we’re happy to follow any training, feeding, walking, or play requirements you have in place. For us, dogs are part of our family. Our goal is to give your pet a safe, loving, and fun experience every time they’re with us so you can have peace of mind knowing they’re in great hands. Grace works full time from home with the odd day in the office but Tom works from home when Grace is in the office so there is always someone at home. We have a small fenced garden to keep your puppy safe, and as we mentioned before we have a dog of our own so walks and playtime are already in our routine. Our pup loves to snuggle up in the evenings so we would love for yours to join us too.

About: James and Toni have both had family dogs throughout our lives. James has a 14 year old black lab at his parents who we look after and miss not being around every day! James is self employed so can fit his schedule around the dogs. Early start so is home in the afternoons. Toni works from home 2 days a week which is flexible. We have an open plan downstairs with lots of space, and a stair gate to keep the dogs downstairs. We have an enclosed garden with space to explore.
“Dex had a lovely stay with Georgia and her family. He seemed very well cared for. I found Georgia really easy to communicate with and plan Dexters stay with her. I would definitely use her services again”

“Shelley was the perfect the dog sitter for our Vizsla Bailey. She made us feel so comfortable by ensuring she got to know us before the sit by meeting for a few walks prior. Bailey had a wonderful time and made some lovely bonds with her family. During the sit Shelley shared photos everyday of Bailey which was lovely to see her having a great time. We would highly recommend Shelley and her family to sit for your pets!”

“Eve was a great sitter for our Lady. Especially under the extreme circumstances of the heatwave. We had some updates, and Eve amended the care plan to fit the extra heat situation too. Will be rebooking for next month. Thank you for taking good care of our girl. Much appreciated. 🙏🏼💖”

“Emma and her husband looked after my puppy for the night, they were both very understanding as unfortunately he became ill overnight after being at a dog show and eating something that didn’t agree with him. Very good communication and very understanding with a stressful situation.”

“Honestly would rate Mikayla higher if I could! I booked very last minute due to kennel cancellation the day before I was flying abroad! Mikayla met me and my dog Luna for a quick meet and greet and all went so well with both Luna and her dog Susan. Luna is a Weimaraner and is naturally a nervous dog but she took to them very quickly. I received beautiful pictures and updates during her weekend stay and felt so relaxed knowing Luna was being looked after and loved while I was away. I will 100% use Mikayla in the future and would highly recommend her services.”

“It was difficult for us to leave our baby for a few days but we definitely found the right person to look after her. Jess sent through photos and videos of Bella playing with her dogs, and by the looks of it she didn’t miss us! We are very happy to leave Bella with Jess in the future and can’t thank her enough for taking such good care of her. Would highly recommend Jess to anyone looking for a dog sitter!”

“I feel so lucky to have found Ella. She treated Clover like family and included her in everything from walks to the family BBQ! Clover loved her dog and came home completely tuckered! Clover can’t wait to visit Ella again!”

“Lauren provided lots of updates as to how Ralph was doing and customised the experience to meet the needs of our dog. Ralph had a great time, we would be more than happy to book with Lauren again”

“Kenzo had an amazing time!! She really looked after him and made sure he had enough exercise throughout the day. He is quite a fussy dog so she did everything to make sure he is eating enough and most importantly, she was constantly updating me and sending me pictures and videos of him while I was away. Highly recommended and will definitely be rebooking!! :)”

“Leanne was incredibly warm with us upon our arrival and she looked after our fur baby exceptionally well. He returned walked, happy and definitely had a spring in his step. Leanne kept us updated throughout with messages and photographic updates. Thank you, Leanne”

Margarita was fantastic with Simba, taking a last minute booking and doing a great job of making sure Simba was well looked after and had everything she needed. I would highly recommend and we would definitely book Margarita again if we are back in the area. Thank you!

My dog loves Alicia and could tell he is very comfortable around her and in her house, he would always want to go in whenever we go past hers on our walk. He feels at home at Alicia’s and would always runs straight upstairs when I drop him off. Alicia keeps me updated on how my dog is doing and share pictures when the day is finished which I always look forward to. She is our favourite Dogsitter in the area 💯

Barney had the best week with Leanne and Keegan! As a sensitive dog, we always feel a little nervous if we have to leave him, but we could not have found him a better home for his holiday. It was reassuring to see him so happy and loved in all the daily updates and making a new best friend with another dog that was also staying. We can’t recommend Leanne highly enough and look forward to booking more stays in the future!

I would highly recommend using Anna! She was so good with our dog and really took time to get to know him so that he could be as happy as possible when staying with her. She treated him as her own and took him on all kinds of adventures and kept us updated the whole time so we didn’t feel worried once.

Shelley was the perfect the dog sitter for our Vizsla Bailey. She made us feel so comfortable by ensuring she got to know us before the sit by meeting for a few walks prior. Bailey had a wonderful time and made some lovely bonds with her family. During the sit Shelley shared photos everyday of Bailey which was lovely to see her having a great time. We would highly recommend Shelley and her family to sit for your pets!

Charlotte was absolutely wonderful with Zoey! It was our first time leaving her, but the regular photo updates kept my mind completely at ease. Zoey looked so happy and relaxed in every shot, which tells me she felt right at home. I can’t recommend Charlotte enough for her communication and genuine care. We will definitely be booking again! 🐾

Anisha was amazing with our little Nani and took great care of her whilst we were away for a week. We received many photo updates of Nani happily playing with her dog Storm, and we are sure Nani was sad to see their time together come to an end. We would highly recommend Anisha as a fantastic and trustworthy dog sitter!

Emma and her husband looked after my puppy for the night, they were both very understanding as unfortunately he became ill overnight after being at a dog show and eating something that didn’t agree with him. Very good communication and very understanding with a stressful situation.

Thank you Albee and Lily for taking such good care of Baxter. Loved the updates I got whilst aboard so that I could focus on my holiday without worrying about him. Thank you for dropping him home last night and sorting him out before I got home - appreciate you both going above and beyond to make sure he was home safe and sound!!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
