“Sarah and Saurabh were fabulous. Sarah is super responsive on messages, booking was really quick and easy. Both Sarah and Saurabh are friendly lovely people, Saurabh took great care of our dog Bailey over a long weekend. He's an older dog so needs extra care with attention and meds, Saurabh was very caring and sent us lots of updates. Thanks both of you and we would love to book Bailey with you again.”

“Left my 1.5yr old sprocker spaniel with Ciaran for a week, who was fantastic with her. He checked he fully understood her schedule before we left her, as well as her medication and diet which was very reassuring. Left us loads of pictures and videos as well throughout the week which was lovely to see how happy she was and how much of an effort Ciaran made.”

“Really pleased with Sally taking care of Ringo while we were away. She is such nice person that I didn’t get anxious even once while he was staying with her. Sally will be always my first choice when I need someone to be looking after my dog. Highly recommended”

Rebecca looked after Asher exceptionally well. Asher is a ten year old springer and can be anxious, but he was well looked after and not stressed. She was great at keeping in touch and - because let’s be honest, we love our dogs and like to know what they are up to - sent updates and a few photos. Asher went on some nice walks. Thank you! If the need arises, we would use your help again.

Jolene was fantastic looking after our Beagle, Nala. It was our first time leaving Nala with someone outside of the family, so we were naturally a little nervous, but Jolene put our minds completely at ease. Nala stayed for a week, and we received regular updates and photos showing just how happy and settled she was. She also got on brilliantly with Jolene’s dog, Gracie, which was lovely to see. Being able to relax and enjoy our holiday knowing that Nala was so well cared for meant a lot to us. We wouldn’t hesitate to use Jolene again and would highly recommend her to anyone

I was nervous about leaving my cockapoo with someone I'd found online for the first time, but I absolutely shouldn't have been! Malcolm and his family went above and beyond to look after her. They sent photos and videos throughout the stay so I always knew she was happy and settled, and they were easily contactable whenever I wanted to check in. She also got on brilliantly with their dog Frank, which made it even more reassuring to know she had a little companion to play with. It's clear they treated her like one of their own. I couldn't recommend them more highly and will definitely be booking again!

Hannah and Jack are truly amazing dog sitters. Lola had only been left once before and we were a little unsure of how she’d be. Hannah and Jack were very reassuring, took time to listen to Lola’s routine and quirks and were very aware of her individual needs, leaving us completely at ease. They gave regular updates and sent plenty of pictures and videos so we could see how Lola was getting on - by the looks of it she enjoyed life with them (and Copper) more than her life with us! Really grateful to have found you both and will definitely use again.

Nita and her family were wonderful carers for our dog. The second time we went back Milo went straight in and was keen to see Nita. Milo needed probiotics the second time and Nita was absolutely fine to give them. I got lots of videos and photos on their walks. I have booked twice already and will book again!

We can’t thank Orla enough. It was our first time going away for a long trip and leaving our dog with someone else for 10 days, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter. Orla sent us daily updates and photos, which was such a comfort, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. We were able to completely relax knowing our dog was so well looked after. Highly recommend Orla – we’ll definitely be booking again!

Nathan was outstanding once again. My pup went into her first season on day one with him while I was overseas. He attended to her every need, buying her pads (which she tore up 😆) and made sure she was supervised at all times, particularly around male dogs. Nathan seems to be an absolute natural and took what was a very challenging situation completely in his stride. I felt really relieved my little Kolisi was in such capable hands. Thank you so much! 🙏

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
