“I left my beloved doggo with Tracey and Alex for 10 days/nights and I can’t recommend them highly enough. I got daily updates and pictures so I could relax on my holiday knowing that he was so loved and well taken care of. It was like leaving him with a member of my family, a real home from home and I’m just delighted that I’ve found this wonderful family as I’ll 100 percent be using them again. Absolute 10/10 ❤️🙌💚”

“Kobe had a great stay with Mel and her husband during the Easter holiday. We met with Mel before the stay to ensure everyone was happy and for Kobe to be familiar with Mel. We had regular updates with photos throughout the stay. Mel was extremely flexible with pick up and drop of times after our flights were changed. Kobe was very comfortable and got lots of walks and cuddles!”

“Wan Yi was so attentious and nice to my dog. She agreed to take him in in very short notice and did a tremendous job. I got pictures and updates all the way. I will be in contact with her again in the future. Thank you so much.”

“We left our doggy Bailey with Loulia whilst we went to Chessington World of adventures. He was so well cared for and had the best time. We were updated regularly and we will definitely be coming back! Thank you 😊”

“Harry was incredible for our pup. Front the start, Harry was incredible communicative and detail oriented in his approach to finding out about our pup. With a weeks long stay looming and our first time leaving him with a stranger for this long, Harry eased our worries by offering two meets up prior. Hamish enjoyed walks often and Harry made sure to give us lots of updates and photos whilst we were away. It was clear Hamish was more than content with Harry. From the photos, you could tell he was incredibly relaxed and loved all the cuddles and attention he got. Would not hesitate booking Harry again. Just wished he stayed around the UK longer so we could use him as our go to sitter! 🤪”

“Such a lovely and friendly family. Great communication and I can tell my pup had the best time there because he was very sleepy the next day!! Will definitely be back!”

“Aero very much enjoyed his stay with Tansy! It was clear from the photos and videos I received he was happy and comfortable, doing all the things he loves! Safe to say Aero was spoilt and taken care of. I would highly recommend Tansy!”

“Stirling lived his best life with Richard and his family! I am super grateful that you were able to provide Stirling a home away from home whilst my family and I travelled. Excellent communication, great updates and Stirling seemed so happy to be with you. Since coming home I am certain he has a case of the post holiday blues - a definite sign of a great time. Thank you, again!”

“Eddie had a lovely time with Andrew and his family when he went to stay for a weekend. They let us know he’d settled in well which was reassuring, and that he’d had a good walk and play date with another dog. They were very flexible with timings and responded quickly. Great sitters!”

“Annie and her family are wonderful! They took great care of my dog Benben, and communication was always easy and friendly. Benben came home with a happy face, clearly well looked after. I’ll definitely use their service again.”

“Hugo was amazing and our French Bulldog loved his stay! From the moment we enquired he was really quick and friendly in responses, put us at ease and gave daily updates and pics. Couldn't be happier with the experience and would definitely use Hugo again!”

“Our Border Collie Bess had a lovely time with Katarina and her family and their laid back dog Fred! Communication was excellent and Katarina was kind enough to send regular photo updates while we were away. The big plus is the lovely wooded area immediately behind their back garden so the dogs were able to be walked regularly and safely, away from main roads and traffic etc. Everything worked out very nicely indeed, thank you Katarina.”

“I would give 6 stars if I could, Luigi had a fabulous weekend!! Rhianna booked me super last minute and was super accommodating. I have tried several sitters but tmher comms was the best I've had so far - I received loads of updates throughout the weekend so I wasn't worried in any way. Luigi was administered all his meds as instructed which was very reassuring. My boy is a precious cavvie and he spent the weekend on blankets being cuddles so he really had the best time. I couldn't recommend Rhianna highly enough, I'll definitely reach out again if ever in need! Thank you so much again!”

“Maddie loved staying with Jessica (and Kent), who treated her wonderfully. Jessica kept us well informed about how Maddie was getting on, with lots of lovely photos, and showed a real interest in Maddie's wellbeing (Maddie felt a bit poorly on one occasion). As a Senior dog Maddie appreciated being carried up stairs, and being allowed to sleep wherever she wanted. Maddie would love to come back to Jessica when we are next away.”

Kobi stayed with Abby and her family for his longest visit yet. He was very well looked after and we were kept well updated. He got on particularly well with another visiting dog and we had some lovely videos of them playing together! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Abby.

A big thank you to Emily and Tony for hosting Bobby for a week while we were on holiday. Emily was very friendly, reliable and fantastic at ensuring we had regular updates of how he was doing including photos. We would be more than happy for her to look after him again in the future.

Mel and her husband looked after Milo, our cocker spaniel for 11 days while we were on holiday. He had the time of his life! Lots of lovely daily walks, cooling off with paddling in a dog friendly river and a first time trip on a bus which he enjoyed! He was cared for and loved by Mel and her husband with lots of lovely photos daily for us to see him enjoying his fun days, and lots of cuddles! Mel and her husband were the best dog sitters and we are very happy to recommend their services and wouldn’t hesitate to give them 5 stars.

Thank you John and Eleni for taking such good care of our Duke. He obviously had a great time and the many pictures and updates were much appreciated. It was a pleasure to meet you both and we certainly won’t hesitate to contact you again and warmly recommend you 😊

Roxanne looked after our Sphynx cat, Albie, for two weeks while we were on holiday, and we couldn't have been happier! She was easy to communicate with, quick to respond, and her home felt very secure for an indoor cat. She kept us updated on the things that were important to us, and we picked him up healthy, happy, and well cared for. Thank you so much, Roxanne

We are so happy we found Julia and her lovely family. ❤️ From the very beginning, Julia was kind, thoughtful and kept us updated with lots of photos and videos, which meant so much to us. Lulu is a sensitive little dog and we were naturally a bit nervous leaving her, but she was so well looked after and genuinely treated like one of the family. It was lovely to see how well she got on with Ruby too. When we picked Lulu up, she was happy, relaxed and her usual playful self. She settled straight back at home, ate her dinner as normal and was actually calmer than after any previous boarding stay, which really says it all. Thank you, Julia, and thank you to your lovely girls for giving Lulu so much love. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you and would happily leave Lulu with you again. 🥰🐾

Youssef was an amazing cat sitter! He was incredibly attentive, kept me updated throughout the stay, and sent me lots of photos, which gave me great peace of mind. It was clear that he took excellent care of my cat. When my cat came home, spoons was happy and relaxed, which says it all. I would definitely book with Youssef again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter. Thank you for taking excellent care of my cat.

Georgina and her family took wonderful care of Sammy for 8 days while we were away. She regularly sent us updates and photos, which gave us real peace of mind, and it was clear from every update that Sammy was happy, relaxed, and having a great time. He enjoyed beautiful walks, loved spending time with the other dogs, and it was obvious he was treated like one of the family. When we collected him, we could tell he had been genuinely well cared for. We wouldn’t hesitate to leave Sammy with Georgina again and would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and attentive dog sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 86% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 91% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
