About: I've looked after small and large dogs including maltese, staffies and great danes - the most I've ever looked after in one go is five! I've done everything from bathing, meals and dietary requirements, activities (I have a massive park opposite my flat with lots of space for exercise) and enjoy being active myself. Plus, I've also looked after budgies and cats and a general all-round animal lover! I work from home Monday, Wednesday and Fridays so I can do some mid week house sitting and check ins and walks. I can do house sitting, walks and check ins on weekends too with a bit of notice - generally a couple of days ahead of time. I don't offer day care or boarding. For house sitting, walking and check ins, I can do feeding and food prep (just provide instructions if theres lots of steps or specific feeding and prep instructions), provide oral medication, generally mixed into food, and I love to play with pets and happy to do lots of walking. I currently have a few dogs that I routinely care for who like to have lots of playtime like fetch, tug, treat finding and puzzles as a few examples and regular walks. I have done a basic pet first aid course (please note that this isnt to replace proper vet care, but can assist in assessing incidents, recognise illness, provide early care prior to getting a vet). This includes, bleeding and bandaging, vomiting, heat stroke, bites, stings. Full information on this course is on the Animal Academy website. I have a current DBS check dated Jan 2024.

About: I’ve always lived with dogs - childhood pets, dog sitting when studying and now having my own dogs. Currently we have a young setter whom we trained from a puppy. I have experience in looking after a range of dogs but the majority of my experience is with spaniels (my previous dog was a springer spaniel), retrievers and Labrador’s and their needs. I’m used to high energy dogs who need lots of walking and game playing. I have experienced first hand the transformation in a dog once it has sufficient exercise and stimulation, so will always look to ensure that your dog has enough walking and play. Our setter has suffered from separation anxiety, so I very aware of the challenges of this & the resulting behaviour. We have worked hard to overcome this & with the right routine in place can now leave him for a couple of hours. We are also working very hard with his recall & making progress, I have honestly found training a ongoing personal achievement and has strengthened our bond hugely. With active dogs, in and out of puddles etc. I am very aware regular brushing is essential to keep their coat untangled and clean. Personally I think this is a lovely way to spent sometime with your dog when they are calm in the evening and happy to spend time with your dog in this way. I’m work from home part time supporting my partners carpentry business. I have two children (4&7) so have school runs twice a day. I’m around the majority of the day otherwise. I walk our dog after school drop off for at least an hour, we go to local open spaces or drive to the country parks. I will take him for another shorter walk either before pick up or later in the day once my partner is home. I'm happy to take additional walks if this is needed for your dog or play scent games in the house & when I'm home they are always free to go in the garden. I have a two year old friendly neutered male English Setter in my home. He likes all dogs and if they are energetic he will play with them. If they are senior he respects this and is gentle. I walk with him for over an hour a day and often go for runs. I can walk other dogs with or without him. If your dog was in our home, they would be in the same space as him on the ground floor and in the garden. Dogs are not allowed upstairs in the bedrooms but provide beds in each room, so they are able to to be with me throughout the day & are not left alone. Whilst the dog will never be left alone around the children (and my children have been around dogs all their lives), it will need to be happy to be in a family environment. Our setter (like a Labrador) is happy to try and eat anything! During mealtimes, our dog and any visiting dogs will be put in a different room. He is a counter surfer and so surfaces and tables are clear of food aside from mealtimes, so they do not get anything that might upset their tummies. I'm very vigilant on keeping any non dog friendly foods well away (raisins, chocolate etc.)

About: Ever since I was little, I’ve had a connection and deep love for dogs. Although I’ve never owned a dog personally, I have grew up in a life that has constantly been surrounded by animals. I had a cat which I cherished and took great care of. And I have spent weeks at people’s houses helping them take care of their pets, mainly being dogs. Nothing makes me happier than seeing the faces of each dog I meet light up and jump for joy once they’re fully acquainted with me. I’m currently working part-time at the weekends but am fully flexible throughout the week for pet care. Monday to Friday from 9am to 7pm. I service dog walking but nevertheless, the safety of the pet is of the utmost priority. Without ensuring the safety of our animals, we cannot guarantee the safety of ourselves and those around us.

About: With over a decade of hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes, I bring passion, patience, and genuine love for animals to every visit. From playful walks and cuddles to meal times and cozy snuggles, I treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether it’s housesitting for friends, family, or through trusted pet services, I’ve built a reputation as a responsible, reliable, and attentive caregiver who truly understands the unique personality and needs of each animal. Your pet’s happiness and safety are my top priority. I’ll keep tails wagging, purrs flowing, and owners at ease knowing their furry friends are in caring, capable hands. I'm self-employed running my own coaching business from home and have full flexibility and autonomy of my diary. I can work remotely from anywhere and currently, only have a handful of regular, commited client hours to cater for. This flexibility means I can be on hand to deliver attentive, dedicated time, focus and care to your pets. I love caring for pets in the comfort of their own home, creating a safe, calm, and happy environment where they feel completely at ease. I always respect each pet’s space and boundaries, paying close attention to their body language so I can respond to their unique personalities, knowing whether they’re in the mood for play, cuddles, or some quiet time. I stick to their usual routines for feeding, walks, and enrichment for minimum disruption to them and helping them feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. From keeping their home safe and tidy to giving them gentle attention and companionship, my goal is to build trust and make every pet feel loved, happy, and cared for.

About: I have got experienced with several breeds of dogs: dachshund, jack russell, golden retriever and american staffordshire terrier. I had my first dog when I was 15, he was an old dachshund, from that I have got experience on taking care of older dogs.I am currently with a american staffordshire terrier of 1 year and 4 months which led me to join the training course when she was 4 months which led me increase my knowledge concerning about dog behaviors and to help me with pet sitting. Even though I had only two dogs, I had many pet sitting experiences with the dogs i listed before. I am a university student currently doing my mechanical engineering degree. I like to make dogs feel comfortable, satisfying all their needs. If the dog needs to discharge energy I am willing to do several hours of walking and play, instead if they need only company, I can meet that requirement as well.

About: I’ve loved cats and dogs for as long as I can remember. Growing up with a cocker spaniel who was my best friend for 14 years sparked my passion for pet care. Since then, I’ve happily cared for many dogs belonging to friends and family, and I’m currently a proud cat parent to two unique cats each with their own personalities, routines, and quirks. Whether it’s energetic walks, calm cuddles, or keeping up with feeding and medication schedules, I always adapt to whatever your pet needs to feel comfortable and loved. I recently moved to Wainscott from Margate, and I’m really missing the joy of being around dogs every day! While I share my home with my two cats, I’d love to bring some tail wags and dog energy back into my life. I’m reliable, gentle, and genuinely enjoy building bonds with every animal I meet. You can trust that I’ll treat your pet like part of the family. I work a 9–5 schedule with an hour lunch break, which gives me time for morning visits or walks before work, quick check-ins during lunch, and evening care after hours. I especially enjoy early morning walks - it’s one of my favourite ways to start the day! I’m available on weekends and can be flexible with timing outside of my work hours to make sure your pet gets the attention they need. When caring for pets in their own home, I focus on keeping things as familiar and stress-free as possible. I follow your pet’s usual routine, whether that includes feeding times, walks, medications, or specific house rules. I’m respectful of your space, tidy, and always make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I pay close attention to each pet’s body language and needs, and I aim to build trust through calm, consistent care.

About: I've been around animals my whole life and currently share my home with my own Labrador and Cavapoo, so I understand first-hand what different breeds and sizes need day to day, from a Lab's energy to a Cavapoo's smaller size and routine. Friends and family have always trusted me with their pets, whether that's a quick check-in or a full house sit while they're away, and I know how much of a difference it makes for a pet to stay in their own home with their own routine rather than being uprooted. I have real experience with pets who need a bit more patience, including anxious or reactive dogs who need a calm, steady presence and clear boundaries rather than pressure. I'm comfortable reading body language and adjusting my approach so nervous pets feel safe rather than overwhelmed. I'm also confident with puppies and kittens, from basic house training and crate routines to gentle socialisation, and equally experienced with senior pets, including administering medication, managing mobility issues and keeping an eye out for changes that owners should know about. Whether it's a drop-in visit or a full house sit, you can expect close attention, honest updates and a pet who's genuinely cared for in the comfort of their own home. I'm flexible with timing and always aim to follow your pet's usual routine as closely as possible. I offer morning, afternoon and evening drop-in visits, as well as overnight house sitting. I confirm exact visit times in advance and keep them consistent throughout the booking, which helps cats and dogs alike feel settled and secure, especially those who rely on a predictable routine. Your pet's safety and comfort are always my top priority. I follow all instructions exactly as provided and make sure doors, windows, gates and feeding areas are secure at all times. I maintain a calm, respectful presence in your home so your pet can stay in a familiar, stress-free environment rather than being uprooted. I also send regular updates so you always know how things are going while you're away.

About: Loving, reliable and active pet sitter 🐶🫶🏻 I’m Charlie, a friendly and reliable pet sitter based in Caterham. I genuinely love animals and want every pet I look after to feel happy, safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I’ve cared for dogs and cats throughout my life, including raising my own fox red Labrador from a puppy. I’m comfortable with different personalities, routines and energy levels, and I’m also experienced with administering medication when needed. I recently spent two weeks house sitting for two spaniels, looking after their daily routines, walks, meals and everything they needed while their owner was away. I really enjoyed it and would love to build on this experience through Rover. What you can expect from me 🐾 I’m happy to provide plenty of attention, walks, playtime and cuddles, while keeping your pet’s usual routine as consistent as possible. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well cared for. I’m available for house sitting in your home, dog walks and drop in visits around Caterham and the surrounding areas. I work during the week but have flexibility around my working days, as well as availability in the mornings, evenings and weekends. I’ll always arrange a meet & greet beforehand so we can get to know each other, go through your pet’s routine and make sure I’m the right fit for you and your pet. I’d love to meet your furry family! 🐶🐱 For house visits and dog walks 🍃 I work full-time, so my availability is mainly evenings, weekends and when I’m able to work from home. For dog/house sitting 🏠 I am able to work remotely for long period of time if I have some warning to give to work. I’m happy to discuss your pet’s usual routine and make sure I can give them the time and attention they need before accepting a booking. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my priority. I’m responsible, attentive and will always follow your instructions around feeding, walks, medication and anything else they need. I’m also respectful of your home and will keep you updated with photos and messages so you know your pet is happy and settled.

Thank you so much, Mandy, for dropping-in on Moomin for us! I had absolutely zero concerns with Mandy popping-in once a day while we were abroad to look after our cat for us. Mandy is very personable and trustworthy and I'd have absolutely no hesitation in asking her to drop-in for us again next time. The daily updates, including videos or photos, were superb and we felt confident that Moomin was looked after. Thanks again, Mandy.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Medway choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 90% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
