Megan is just great! Excellent communication and really took care to understand our dog’s needs. She’s super friendly and calm, and was the perfect companion to look after our nervous sighthound for the evening. Recommend her completely!

About: Hi, I’m Rita. My experience with animals began growing up on a farm, where caring for animals was part of everyday life. Since then, animals have always been a big part of my world. I’ve had both dogs and cats of my own, volunteered for several years with the Animal Welfare Trust in Watford, and cared for different dogs through BorrowMyDoggy. These experiences have helped me understand how unique every pet is. I’m calm, patient, and reliable, and I take time to get to know each pet so they feel safe and comfortable in my care. Whether it’s a walk, drop-in visit, or overnight stay, I provide attentive care tailored to your pet’s routine and personality. I’ll care for your pet as if they were my own, and I look forward to meeting you both. I am flexible and able to provide pet care throughout the week, including weekdays and weekends. I am also happy to care for both cats and dogs and can adapt to different routines depending on each pet’s individual needs. I am available for dog walking and drop-in visits during the day, and I am also open to discussing house sitting arrangements depending on each pet’s requirements and routine. I always aim to be reliable, responsive, and clear when arranging bookings. I understand how important it is to trust someone caring for your pet and entering your home. Your pet’s safety, wellbeing and routine are always my top priority. I follow all owner instructions carefully, including feeding, routines, and any specific care requirements. I have been DBS checked, and I aim to provide a calm, reliable and respectful service at all times. During visits, I will provide updates and photos so you can feel reassured that your pet is happy and well cared for. For safety, dogs are always walked on a lead unless the owner has specifically requested otherwise and provided clear recall instructions.

About: I’ve had a dog, and looked after family and friends dogs since my teens. I work from home and am flexible, and have access to a lovely park nearby for walks. I’m really a dog lover through and through, all breeds and ages I work from home 4 days a week with a relatively flexible schedule so my availability is open. Depending on weekend plans, I can also be available then with a bit more advance notice. I understand that every pet has their own routine, and I'm happy to follow your instructions to help them feel comfortable and secure in their own home. Whether I'm taking your dog for a walk or caring for them while you're away, I'll make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, fresh water, meals if needed, and lots of snuggles. I can send updates and photos for you peace of mind.

About: I’ve had animals my whole life and have gained years of hands-on experience caring for a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, and smaller animals. Over the years, I’ve also regularly looked after friends’ and family members’ pets, helping with feeding, walking, playtime, administering basic care, and providing companionship while they were away. I’m comfortable with pets of different ages, sizes( having had an American Akita myself), and temperaments, and I always make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for in my company. I’m reliable, patient, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs, whether that means sticking to a routine, giving extra exercise, or simply providing plenty of affection and attention. I’m currently working full time but can be made available most evenings during the week. I am fully flexible at weekends and when I’m not spending time with my lovely dog i will happily dedicate my time to your fur babies. I have a fenced garden and one friendly dog to keep your fur baby company. My dog is very content and will be happy to be kept separate if required, he’s such a lovely boy.

Ginny took care of my dogs at my house, during a long weekend. She was confident, comfortable and affectionate with my dogs from the onset. They certainly enjoyed having her visit. She kept me informed during the weekend and sent me pictures of them playing with her. It's also worth mentioning that she left the house neat and tidy. I'd definitely use Ginny again in the future.

She did a meet and greet first, asked all the right questions, and kept me updated the whole time. Easygoing, caring, and reliable. Chaves and I are lucky to have found her!☺️🐶

About: Hi, I'm Ellen! I'm a veterinary student at the University of Nottingham with hands-on experience caring for animals of all ages, sizes and temperaments. I've always loved animals, and becoming a vet has been my dream for years. Looking after pets is something I genuinely enjoy, and I love getting to know each animal's unique personality. I know how difficult it can feel leaving your pet with someone new, so my aim is to make them feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible while keeping their routine as normal as I can. I'll also send regular updates and photos so you can enjoy your time away knowing they're happy and well looked after. As part of my veterinary training, I'm confident handling dogs and cats with different temperaments, including energetic puppies, senior pets and those who may need a little extra patience. I'm also experienced administering oral and injectable medications and am happy caring for pets with additional medical needs or following post-operative care instructions where appropriate. I have previous paid experience with dog walking and pet care, and I always prioritise your pet's wellbeing, safety and happiness. Whether that's long walks, playtime, cuddles, enrichment activities or simply sticking to their usual routine, I'll tailor my care to suit their individual needs. I've recently finished my veterinary placements and will be completing a research project from home until the end of September, so I have a very flexible schedule with plenty of daytime, evening and weekend availability. I'm respectful of clients' homes, reliable, communicative and treat every pet as if they were my own. I'd love the opportunity to meet you and your pet! I’ve recently finished the majority of my veterinary placements, so I now have a very flexible schedule and am available for pet care most days and times throughout the week, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends. As I’ll be completing a research project from home through to the end of September, I’m able to offer plenty of daytime availability as well as flexible care to suit your pet’s routine and needs. As a veterinary student, I understand the importance of safe, attentive and compassionate animal care. I’m happy to follow your pet’s usual routine to help them feel comfortable and relaxed in their own home. I can provide feeding, walks, playtime, litter tray cleaning, medication administration if needed, and regular updates while you’re away. I’m respectful of clients’ homes, reliable with instructions, and always prioritise your pet’s wellbeing and safety.

Great cat sitter! She's amazing with cats. Before I left my girl, I noticed that she had a paw injury. Ellesha checked my baby's paw everyday and sent me updates on she was healing. She also successfully gave her pain meds for 4 days. She took very good care of our home as well. Thanks! I came home to 2 happy cats 🩵

Ella looked after my golden retriever, Bailey, at my home last night and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Her communication was excellent from the start—she was responsive, clear, and kept me updated throughout the evening. Bailey immediately warmed to her, and it was obvious when I returned that he’d had a calm, enjoyable evening in her care. The house was exactly as I left it, and she even left a quick note recapping how the night went, which was a lovely touch. Ella is clearly very experienced and comfortable with dogs, and I felt completely at ease knowing Bailey was in such capable hands. I would definitely use her again and highly recommend her to anyone in need of a trustworthy, attentive sitter.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Three Rivers walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Three Rivers choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
