About: Hi, I’m Rita. My experience with animals began growing up on a farm, where caring for animals was part of everyday life. Since then, animals have always been a big part of my world. I’ve had both dogs and cats of my own, volunteered for several years with the Animal Welfare Trust in Watford, and cared for different dogs through BorrowMyDoggy. These experiences have helped me understand how unique every pet is. I’m calm, patient, and reliable, and I take time to get to know each pet so they feel safe and comfortable in my care. Whether it’s a walk, drop-in visit, or overnight stay, I provide attentive care tailored to your pet’s routine and personality. I’ll care for your pet as if they were my own, and I look forward to meeting you both. I am flexible and able to provide pet care throughout the week, including weekdays and weekends. I am also happy to care for both cats and dogs and can adapt to different routines depending on each pet’s individual needs. I am available for dog walking and drop-in visits during the day, and I am also open to discussing house sitting arrangements depending on each pet’s requirements and routine. I always aim to be reliable, responsive, and clear when arranging bookings. I understand how important it is to trust someone caring for your pet and entering your home. Your pet’s safety, wellbeing and routine are always my top priority. I follow all owner instructions carefully, including feeding, routines, and any specific care requirements. I have been DBS checked, and I aim to provide a calm, reliable and respectful service at all times. During visits, I will provide updates and photos so you can feel reassured that your pet is happy and well cared for. For safety, dogs are always walked on a lead unless the owner has specifically requested otherwise and provided clear recall instructions.

About: I've always loved animals, and I've had cats and dogs most of my life. I volunteered at a pet shelter in Brazil, in which I learnt a lot about caring for cats and dogs. I've been looking after friends' and families' houses, cats and dogs for over two decades. I'm confident in taking care of pets, giving them lots of love, cuddles, playing with them, and also taking them outside and for a walk, as necessary. I have experience with pets with special needs, be it physical or mental disabilities. I'm also confident in giving them medication when necessary. I currently work as a programme coordinator at a charity and work remotely, which gives me plenty of time to care for your furry family members. I can keep up with their routine and keep them company. I find it important to make sure your pets maintain their routines. I respect the rules you set for them and make sure that their day-to-day is disturbed as little as possible. If they feel comfortable and safe, that makes me happy.
“Megan was great looking after Leo who took to her quickly. She was highly communicative and sent lots of pics, and managed the situation brilliantly and in good humour. when she got locked in the bathroom due to a faulty lock. Will definitely ask Megan to sit / walk Leo again.”

“Obi had a really lovely day with Kelly - lots of walks, treats and cuddles - plus plenty of updates for us! Would definitely recommend Kelly and in fact we've re-booked her to look after Obi for a whole week next time...”

About: I’ve had animals my whole life and have gained years of hands-on experience caring for a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, and smaller animals. Over the years, I’ve also regularly looked after friends’ and family members’ pets, helping with feeding, walking, playtime, administering basic care, and providing companionship while they were away. I’m comfortable with pets of different ages, sizes( having had an American Akita myself), and temperaments, and I always make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for in my company. I’m reliable, patient, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs, whether that means sticking to a routine, giving extra exercise, or simply providing plenty of affection and attention. I’m currently working full time but can be made available most evenings during the week. I am fully flexible at weekends and when I’m not spending time with my lovely dog i will happily dedicate my time to your fur babies. I have a fenced garden and one friendly dog to keep your fur baby company. My dog is very content and will be happy to be kept separate if required, he’s such a lovely boy.

Flexible and consistent. Trustworthy. Responsible. I have a maisonette situated in Croxley near the moor and canal so easy access for walks. The maisonette is spacious with 2 levels. “Ginny took care of my dogs at my house, during a long weekend. She was confident, comfortable and affectionate with my dogs from the onset. They certainly enjoyed having her visit. She kept me informed during the weekend and sent me pictures of them playing with her. It's also worth mentioning that she left the house neat and tidy. I'd definitely use Ginny again in the future.”

About: I’ve always loved dogs and recently lost my own, a Spaniel-Dachshund cross who kept me on my toes with plenty of long walks, playtime and adventures. While I’m not ready for another dog of my own yet, I’d love to spend time caring for yours. I’m active, reliable and enjoy being outdoors, so whether your dog loves long countryside walks or shorter strolls, I’m happy to tailor their care to their needs. I’ll treat every dog as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, loved and well looked after. I work from home almost full-time, with just one day every couple of weeks in my London office, so I have plenty of flexibility to fit around your dog’s routine. Whether it’s early morning toilet breaks, lunchtime walks, evening cuddles or regular company throughout the day, I’m happy to adapt to what your dog is used to. I also drive and have a second car that I previously used for dog walks, so I’m more than happy transporting muddy paws after countryside adventures or trips to local parks. I’ll be caring for your dog in your own home because I believe that’s where they’re happiest and most comfortable. Staying in familiar surroundings helps reduce stress and allows them to stick to their normal routine while you’re away. I’ll treat both your home and your dog with the utmost respect, keeping everything clean, secure and exactly as you’ve asked. I’ll provide regular photo updates and messages so you can relax knowing your dog is safe, loved and well cared for.

“Absolutely brilliant dogsitter/housesitter, can't thank her enough for the care and attention she gave to everything as well as daily updates, photos and videos showing how happy my boy was, lots of walks, lots of play and even some training too! Great cat sitter! She's amazing with cats. Before I left my girl, I noticed that she had a paw injury. Ellesha checked my baby's paw everyday and sent me updates on she was healing. She also successfully gave her pain meds for 4 days. She took very good care of our home as well. Thanks! I came home to 2 happy cats 🩵

Great housesitting from Charlotte. We left our 4months old puppy for the first time with someone else and Charlotte helped us not to feel worried and confident we left our puppy in good hands. Everything went perfectly. Charlotte also kindly privided feedback and gave advice on food and training.

Alexandra was amazing in looking after our two dogs and our house. We got daily updates from her and it was obvious she was caring for them well. When we got back the house was clean and tidy and the dogs were in great shape. Highly recommend her services and will be using her again. Thank you Alexandra!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Three Rivers choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
