Actress who's had a menagerie of pets in her life

I've always loved animals & have had loads of pets. My first pets were a sausage dog called Lucy we were inseparable, and two cats a B&W one called Whisky & a ginger & white Tom called Moggsie. But when I lived in Sussex on a country estate I had 6 cats, 2 dogs, one parrot, 2 buggies, 2 goldfish, 2 hamsters, a sheep & a donkey (all rescues) local kids use to ask to visit my zoo. When my last pet died of old age, in 2009 I'd became more busy acting wise, so rather having a full time pet, when my acting schedule was erratic, I started fitting dog walking around my acting & cat & dog sitting for friends who were going away on holiday but didn't want to use a kennels or cattery. I'm not scared of big dogs I've worked as a volunteer for the Born Free Foundation in the past, handling young lions & tigers, so big dogs are a breeze. I also volunteered for The Diane Fossey Gorilla Group, raised funds for various animal charity. And protested Fox hunting for years, and protested Yulin yearly since the mid 80s Check my diary for availability, tho do be pre warned, sometimes it says I’m free to sit, when I’m already booked for boarding, or daycare & vice versa, the app doesn’t seem to realise I can’t be in two places at the same time (& I’m so busy I don’t have time to manually check that on all bookings) so if I tell you I’m already booked, but the app shows I’m free, it’s down to that glitch, it won’t be me blowing you off.

June really looked after Shaka well. She kept us updated daily with photos of his walks, his general activity and was very quick to respond to WhatsApp messages. She showed caring and kindness to Shaka, and he enjoyed her company-even lying on her feet when relaxing! She put our minds at ease knowing our old doggy, and our home, were in good hands while we were away. Thank you, June 😊

Oreo had a wonderful long weekend stay! As always, June kept us up to date with pictures of their outings ❤️ Oreo is home happy, but very tired (perfect to give me time to unpack etc) from his lovely little holiday with June. Thank you x

Schedule

I am a jobbing self employed actress, so I often have free days in the week, sometimes free weeks, or free months, it's not a 5 days a week, 9-5 life, and I still occasionally get starstruck, such as when I met the late great Bob The Cat (profile pic) when in Soho with friends for Gay Pride. I don't have a car/drive so walks and drop ins will have to be within 5miles so I can walk or get a bus there, stay overs especially of for more than one day I'm happy to travel 25+ miles for, by train/bus etc (but meet & greets outside of St Albans or outside walking distance of St Albans will need bus/train travel reimbursement) also sitting outside St Albans area, will require bus fare reimbursement if only for 1 day or it’s not cost effective for me as I don’t drive, sadly.

Safety, trust & environment

I don't have a garden just an unfenced courtyard, but I have a huge local park and 3 other parks in a short distance from my home. I've always allowed pets to cuddle up with me on sofa or bed if they want. I'm happy with more than one pet that live together (rather than more than one pet from different households) if I don't know if they'll get on or not. I've stayed in many friends homes for 1-2weeks if they're away on holiday, fitting in my work while there on some occasions, and there 24/7 for their pets on some weeks, when I've no booked acting work, they've also recommended me to people, who I've then pet sat for. I had a special bond with a male Tabby called Lennie, a very needy boy, he followed me everywhere. He had to sit either on my lap (especially if I had the cheek to be reading a newspaper when he demanded 100% attention) or by my head on sofa or in bed. He'd often drop a live mouse gift on my head at 4-5am, when I was asleep in bed, which would result in me having to rescue the poor thing in the wee hrs (just in case his black brother Elvis ate it as he had a high mouse death score, unlike Lennie who brought them in live) & then petting Lennie, after the successful rescue was complete, as I knew it was his way of thanking me (tho at those times I wished he didn't love me so much lol)

A typical day

A typical day will vary if a cat or dog, and also by breed and age, but what they are assured is lots of kisses & cuddles, play time, long or short walks in park (depending on needs)

Cats
0 to 7 kg
7 to 18 kg
18 to 45 kg
over 45 kg
No females in heat
Takes only 1 client at a time
June can host up to 1 pet per night
If your dog/cat is nervous or aggressive around other animals/dogs if they're able to go off lead in a big park & not run off. Any diet or health needs. If they are nervous in crowded areas or noisy areas... basically anything you feel is important to know about your furry relative. Also flea treatment needs to be up to date if boarding with me. Also meet & greets outside of my local area will need train/bus fare Reimbursement, as I don’t drive. Same with dog or cat sitting, outside of St Albans, if the sit is not over 1 day.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
