Over the years, I've looked after neighbours' cats and dogs while they've been away, and more recently I've been fostering cats of all ages and backgrounds. Whether your cat is confident and playful or shy and nervous, I'll take the time to get to know them and help them feel safe and comfortable while you're away. I offer reliable pop-in visits for feeding, fresh water, litter tray cleaning, medication (where needed), playtime, cuddles and plenty of reassurance. I'll also send regular photo updates, so you can relax knowing your cat is in caring, experienced hands. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else, and I'll care for your cat as if they were my own.

“Yasmin has been absolutely brilliant! We were able to enjoy our wedding stressfree and know that she will give our kittens the same love, care and affection that she would give to her own. Thank you Yasmin dor being amazing! ”

“Honestly the best decision I made. This was my first time having a cat sitter and Philomena was wonderful. As soon as she came to visit I knew she was just what we needed. The cats loved her visits and played happily with her. She always had something interesting for them to get excited about. She fed them, kept the water bowl topped up and cleaned the litter and food items each day. She even fixed a broken plinth in my kitchen! Her daily updates about the cats became a fun daily read for th family whilst we were away. What a wonderful lady.”

“This was my first time booking with Chloe, and it was such a great experience. When I got back, my cats were incredibly relaxed, which says everything about the care they received. “Julie helped us out at short notice and with a longer walk and I have to say Larry absolutely loved it. He tootled off happy as anything and Julie gave such detailed updates on the app. Really pleased I tried an extended walk and Julie gave me the confidence that Larry was ready. Which he was! With the updates Julie sends on the app it’s brilliant. I would recommend 100%.”

About: Hi! I'm Rachel, and I’m a dog walker and dog/cat sitter in central Berkhamsted. I’m very responsible, thoughtful, playful and loving with all animals and I've been called Miss Doolittle (the Dr Doolittle reference not as it sounds!). I've owned a very playful labradoodle and active bengal cats for many years, dogwalked and cared for two very active terriers, a collie, two large labrador and golden retrievers, a chihuahua, a nervous rescue cross breed and dogwalked a wide variety of breeds for a dog rescue centre for several years. I'm experienced with young to elderly, anxious, deaf dogs and cats, and administering medication if needed. If you’re looking for an occasional or regular dog walker, animal sitter or holiday sitter I’m looking for clients around Berkhamsted and the nearby areas right now while studying to make a big career change from office work. I offer solo care or take out small groups for walks along the canal, to the nearby parks and Ashridge, also offer more active dogwalking, balltime and playtime. I know the area very well around here after living here for over 10 years and being very 'outdoorsy'! :) All breeds and ages welcome ❤❤❤ Your pets will be well looked after! I hope to meet you and your much loved pet(s) very soon! Best, Rachel I'm studying to be a health coach and make a career change while animal sitting and will balance this across the week. Mondays to Fridays are preferable for me but I can potentially offer Sundays as well. I'm especially interested in longer, holiday sits too. I'll take the lead from you on what's needed for your pet(s) and any special requirements or needs. I'm very responsible and in tune with animal body language and needs so they'll be well looked after, exercise, food, water and bathroom visits wise!
“John walked our lively recue dog for several days whilst we were away. He was incredibly punctual and happy to come early in the morning to avoid the heat of the day. Our dog is reactive to other dogs and I was quite nervous - but no need. John understood her nervousness and ensured walks were safe and uneventful for her. Thank you!”

About: With over 9 years of personal experience caring for dogs of all sizes and temperaments, I provide attentive, loving care tailored to each pet’s unique needs. Having raised a toy-sized poodle and a golden retriever mix, I’m skilled at handling both small and large breeds. I excel in creating a safe, comfortable environment, whether it’s for energetic puppies, senior dogs requiring extra patience, or pets with specific routines. My dedication, reliability, and genuine love for animals set me apart as a trusted sitter. Caring for pets has always been a natural part of my daily routine. I enjoy dedicating time to walks, play, and providing companionship, ensuring each pet feels loved and well-cared for. My flexible schedule allows me to accommodate feeding times, exercise, and any special needs pets may have. Whether it’s a quick drop-in visit or an overnight stay, I prioritize creating a structured yet comforting routine for the pets in my care. In my home, I create a warm and secure environment where pets feel like part of the family. I ensure they have a cozy space to relax, plenty of exercise, and engaging activities to keep them happy. I follow their routines closely, including feeding, walks, and playtime, while offering lots of attention and affection. When caring for pets in a pet owner’s home, I maintain their established routines to minimize stress. I’m respectful of the space, keep it tidy, and communicate regularly with updates and photos to provide peace of mind. My focus is always on the pet’s comfort and well-being, whether at my home or theirs.

About: My dream is to have my own dog one day! Until then, I’d love to help take care of yours 🥰 I am a small dog lover providing loving care from our peaceful family home in Gadebridge, Hemel Hempstead. I live with my parents in a quiet, safe neighbourhood, where we have a small grassed garden that is completely secure and perfect for fresh air and playtime. Your pet will enjoy a constant routine of companionship, plenty of potty breaks, and endless affection. I specialise in overnight stays (at mine) specifically for smaller breeds. Our home is a calm, safe sanctuary where smaller pups can feel completely relaxed without being overwhelmed. I only accept one dog at a time. While I keep overnights exclusive to smaller dogs, I am completely comfortable walking, visiting, and hanging out with small-medium sized dogs! We are located right by fantastic walking routes for high-energy exercise or just slow pottering! We treat every guest dog like a member of our own family. I always recommend a Meet & Greet in our home/garden first so you can be reassured the stay will be a perfect fit for your furry best friend and we can ask each other plenty of questions. Please note I do not do overnight stays at owners' houses nor do I look after cats. Because I work from home twice a week alongside my parents, our house is almost never empty for more than half a day. This means your pet will enjoy constant company, reassurance, and supervision throughout the day. Your pet’s safety is my absolute number one priority. Our family home is located in a quiet, safe neighbourhood in Gadebridge. We have a partially-grassed garden that is fully enclosed with high, secure walls and a side gate, ensuring zero chance of escape during outdoor playtime. Inside, the house is kept clean, calm, and entirely 'pet-proofed' so curious paws cannot get into anything they shouldn't. Because we are a multi-person household with people working from home, pets would rarely be left unattended for more than half a day. I track subtle changes in energy, appetite, or bathroom breaks ; I will be open with you if there are any issues In the rare event of an illness or accident, I maintain a clear emergency protocol. I keep your preferred vet's details on hand, know the quickest routes to the local 24/7 emergency animal hospital, and will contact you immediately. Paws are wiped down after walks, and fresh, filtered water is always available in a clean bowl in the utility room. I know how hard it is to leave your beloved pet with someone else. To ensure total transparency and trust, I will provide photo and video updates on a schedule we agree so you will always know your dog is well cared for.
About: Hi, I’m Becca, I really love spending time with dogs and have experience in taking care of them. I have grown up with my Golden Retriever best friend and often dogsit and walk my friends Labrador. I have always grown up confident around pets and I will always stop a cute dog on its walk and ask to say hello! I have an enclosed garden at home for lots of play! I work from home 3 times a week so I am always around for cuddles and walkies and occasional weekends when I do not have plans! I have an enclosed garden and lots of energy to use up with your furry friend! In your home, I will of course follow any rules you have in place for your dog, ensuring they are well fed, well walked and safe each day
About: I am a kind, friendly and honest person, and enjoy helping others. I am reliable and have always had a love for animals. Indeed, I have had cats for around 15 years, and several smaller animals in my youth. I currently have an elderly cat who would not accept a dog into the household, so I am keen to walk dogs, until such a day when I can join the dog owning community I love meeting dog owners and friends who have dogs, and I always make a huge fuss of them. They in turn know instinctively that I am a friend, and always respond accordingly, bringing mutual happiness! I live opposite fields, the canal and Boxmoor Trust land, so regularly meet other neighbours/dog walkers, as this is a popular place to exercise dogs. I have walked friends’ dogs from time to time, but I have more time, now that I work part-time from home. I often walk around the Boxmoor Trust land or in around Ashridge Forest in my spare time, and would be happy to collect dogs in and around Hemel Hempstead, Apsley, King’s Langley, Berkhamsted, and Northchurch. I often regularly walk alone, wishing I was walking a dog! Hopefully soon I will be walking dogs more regularly. As a professional and trustworthy person, I will take care of your beloved friend and be punctual for agreed walkies times. I am a softie, and am able to have fun with your dog, while managing and keeping him/her safe. I am an active person and can walk or run with your dog - whatever the breed or athletic ability. I would love to hear from you and look forward to meeting you and your beloved friend. I currently work Monday - Wednesday, but could walk your dog on an evening, especially as the evenings are becoming lighter, and on any of the remaining days. I have a large fenced garden and overlook fields as far as the eye can see! I am a responsible pet owner who is experienced with keeping animals and administering medication to cats. I would take care of your animal with the same consideration and care, that I would my own.
“We were really struggling for a reliable walker before going on holiday this year. I found Steve on Rover and couldn't have been happier, he came around prior to us leaving to meet Monte and us and made us feel at ease. We trusted him with a key and to feed Monte after walks and we came back to a really happy and healthy dog. Couldn't recommend Steve enough and will be definitely using him again in the future when we require more dog walking and care!”

About: Having always grown up surrounded by animals, the pure love for them was there from the beginning. I then fuelled that love into education by studying A Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management at the Berkshire College of Agriculture. BCA consisted of an Exotics house, Small mammals and kennels, Farm livestock, Zoo and British wildlife which allowed me to work alongside a range of different animals. During this course I learnt about mixture of units including: Breeding and Genetics, Animal biology, Animal health and diseases, Animal Behaviour, Animal Welfare and Ethics, Advanced Animal Nutrition, Industry Placement, Exotic Animal Husbandry, Ecology and Conservation. I was able to perfect many skills including: - Practical handling skills - Observation and monitoring - Compassion and empathy - Adaptability - Animal care and welfare knowledge I am currently working Monday to Friday 09:00-17:30. This gives me the availability on weekends and before / after work to care for your furry friends! I do also work from home on Mondays and Fridays so will also have some availability on these days aswell :) I have a fenced garden that is very secure, I also have many dog toys to hand aswell as a crate / bed if needed.

“We were a little nervous leaving Hugo as he'd never stayed away from home before, but Leanne made the whole experience really easy. She was very responsive, responsible, and clearly knows how to look after dogs properly. Hugo had lots of lovely long walks and plenty of attention, and it was really reassuring to see how much affection he got from Leanne's son too. We could tell he was well cared for and happy. We'll definitely be booking with Leanne again in the future and would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.”

“Many thanks to Amanda for looking after Teddy so well - dog boarding for 4 nights. He was welcomed into her home and treated as if he was her own - Amanda’s own two lovely dogs were also very welcoming to Teddy. It seemed as if he had been on his own little holiday with lovely walks across the fields and lots of attention. I picked him up tired but clearly very content. Amanda kept me updated throughout with updates and photos and was quick to respond to my messages on dates. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and I know Teddy will be very pleased to go back again- thank you!”
