About: I have had a range of different dogs and have always trained my own puppies to sit, stay, paw, rollover (some got it), toilet training, getting them slowly used to noises, ands to walk nicely. I able to walk dogs any days between 8.am and 5pm. I have a cocker spaniel that will come out on a few walks with me to. I have a fenced back garden for the dogs to play in and relax. Selda visited once a day to feed my one-year-old cat, Mabel, while I was away over Christmas, and I couldn’t have felt more at ease. From our first meeting when I handed over the house key, I was completely confident that Mabel was in safe and caring hands. While I was away, Selda sent regular photos and videos, and it was lovely to see how relaxed and happy Mabel was in her company. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Selda and will definitely be using her again. Thank you 🤗

Emily is a really lovely young lady with a calm manner. She came to meet Otis with a few bags of treats and won him (and us!) over immediately! She is very quick to respond to requests on Rover and was always on time and prepared to take care of Otis. We felt very comfortable and at ease leaving Otis is Emily’s care.

I hired Philippa to look after my cats and she was truly amazing. I was so scared as I never left them, but she reassured me. She is incredibly kind, patient, and loving, you can tell straight away how much she genuinely cares about animals. My cats adored her, even the kittens which says everything! About: As a dog owner myself, I completely understand how stressful it can be to book a holiday or spend time away from home while worrying about who will care for your furry family member. I will provide your pet with all the love and care they would receive at home so you can relax knowing they are in safe hands. I have been looking after friends’ dogs and pets for many years while they are away on weekends or longer holidays abroad. It is something I have always found incredibly rewarding and fulfilling, which is why I decided to make it part of my career. This year, I completed a Dog First Aid course at Capel Manor College. I grew up with dogs, so caring for animals has always come naturally to me. Safety and comfort are my top priorities. I follow routines closely, keep owners updated, and make sure every pet settles in quickly so they feel secure and relaxed. I treat every animal as if they were my own and genuinely love having them around Our home is perfectly set up for pet care, with a large private garden, plenty of nearby parks and green spaces, and a peaceful indoor environment for naps and downtime. You tell me your pet’s routine, and I’ll stick to it while keeping you updated throughout their stay. I also offer daycare services with plenty of walks and enrichment, which can be ideal if you’re working, planning a day out, or simply want your dog to have some company and stimulation during the day. We have an 8-year-old crossbreed dog who loves having furry friends around. We also have a dwarf rabbit who lives in a separate room and free-roams around unless we have guests. The room remains closed when we have visiting pets, ensuring everyone stays safe and comfortable. We regularly enjoy walks in beautiful local areas such as Whitewebbs Park and Forty Hall, as well as exploring other nearby parks and green spaces. If your dog is nervous around other dogs, that’s absolutely fine. I have the space to keep pets separate when needed and always give them the patience and reassurance they need to feel comfortable in their new surroundings. While you’re away, I’ll keep you updated with regular messages and photos, so you never have to worry about how your pet is settling in, whether they’re eating well, or if they’re missing you. My aim is to give you complete peace of mind while making sure your pet feels happy, loved, and cared for every step of the way. My pet sitting schedule is designed to keep dogs comfortable, happy, and settled in their usual routine. As I work from home, dogs are rarely left alone and have plenty of companionship, supervision, and reassurance throughout the day. The day typically starts with a trip into the garden for a quick toilet break as soon as they wake up, followed by breakfast and some relaxed morning time. Dogs are welcome to join me on my daughter’s school run if suitable for them, giving them some gentle stimulation and company. Throughout the day, there is plenty of time for resting, relaxing, and naps to ensure they feel calm and at home. Around midday, I usually take dogs for a walk with time for play, ball catching, and exercise depending on their energy levels and preferences. Later in the afternoon, we head out again for the school pick-up walk. On weekends, we love exploring different parks, walking routes, and new areas, giving dogs plenty of opportunities for enrichment, sniffing, and adventure if they enjoy being active and outdoors. I always aim to stick closely to each dog’s normal routine and will happily adapt to their individual needs. If a dog prefers a quieter, less active day, I will absolutely accommodate their pace and preferences to make sure they feel safe, relaxed, and cared for. Safety, trust, and creating a calm home environment are extremely important to me when caring for dogs. I have a secure fenced garden for safe outdoor time and always make sure doors are kept locked and windows are not left open to prevent any chance of escape. My home and garden are pet-friendly, and I do not keep any poisonous plants accessible to dogs. Dogs are treated as part of the family while staying with us and are free to relax comfortably around the home. I do not use kennels or cages unless this is specifically requested by the owner and is part of the dog’s normal routine. I work from home, so dogs receive plenty of supervision, attention, and companionship throughout the day. My daughter is a teenager who absolutely loves animals and has grown up surrounded by pets, so she is very calm, gentle, and confident around dogs. My husband is also a huge dog lover, as is our son, who is currently at university but comes home frequently and has also grown up with pets all his life. I know how important peace of mind is when leaving your pet with someone else, so I provide daily updates along with photos and videos so owners can see their dog happy, settled, and enjoying their stay.

About: My Dalmatian, Jack went to the Rainbow Bridge 14 days before Christmas 2024. It broke me completely. I have had to say goodbye to many over the years, but there was something about Jack that left me reeling for months. Caring for a pet is one of life’s most rewarding responsibilities, offering unconditional love, companionship, joy and laughter. Pets are not just something that we own, they are part of our family and deserve all the love, respect and as much attention as possible. I am called Nanny Biscuits because all the dogs in my family know that I am going to give them loads of cuddles and doggy biscuits if they are allowed. I am aware that not all dogs are allowed to have treats for various reasons and I am very comfortable with that. Your wishes for your pet have to be respected. I have found that if I look after a pet in my home, it is good to have a blanket or item of clothing from you that has the familiar smell of you and the home the pet lives in. Comfort items boost emotional safety and comfort which every pet needs if they are in unfamiliar surroundings. I work full time, Monday - Friday. I work from home on a Monday and a Friday. My job does not give me annual leave, but we get "vacation time". I have 3 weeks off over Christmas. Two weeks off at Easter and a week off for Whitsun. I am available throughout the summer from the last working day in July until the first working day in October. I do have "vacation duty" for two weeks this September from 14th September - 21st September. I am happy to care for your pet in my home or yours, or, wherever you pet feels safe and comfortable. Morning, afternoon and evening walks are always on the agenda, I enjoy dog walking, and I am also content with a dog that does not need as much exercise as others.

About: I have extensive experience caring for a wide variety of animals. Growing up, I owned two dogs — a Cocker Spaniel and a Springer Spaniel — which gave me a strong foundation in responsible pet care and training. I also kept budgies and successfully raised their chicks, gaining valuable experience in handling and nurturing small animals. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have looked after friends’ dogs of various breeds and sizes while they were on holiday, ensuring each pet received appropriate exercise, attention, and care. More recently, I have been providing cat care for my neighbours during their time away, maintaining their routines and offering companionship. I take pride in providing reliable, compassionate, and attentive care for all animals entrusted to me. I am currently working full time 9-5 during the week and looking for some lovely pets to help me relax after a stressful day at work. I am also willing to offer my services on weekends depending on my availability. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always take the time to understand each pet’s routine, personality, and special needs, ensuring they feel secure and cared for while you’re away. Whether it’s following specific feeding instructions, keeping walks safe and fun, or sending regular updates, I treat every dog as if they were my own. You can trust that your pet will be in responsible, loving hands at all times.

About: Hello! My name is Chimma and I love taking care of pets :) Some experience I have is dog walking, washing dogs, looking after senior dogs and cats mainly, but prefer to look after older dogs as I feel like they need a bit more attention and nurturing I work from home 2 days a week and do not work Fridays so I’m more than happy to dog sit/cat sit when needed. I can travel anywhere around London and Hertfordshire so travel isn’t a problem to drop in It’s imperative that each pet is cared for in a way that suits them; safety measures include having removal of anything toxic and life threatening, keeping the main areas of the house clear of toys pets may have used and making sure everywhere is to a high level of standards for cleanliness.

About: I I’ve got over 8 years of hands-on dog-sitting experience and have grown up around pets all my life. At home, I care for my two dogs, Cookie and Lola, and my two cats, Marvel and Zeus, so I’m very used to different personalities, routines, and little quirks. I also help out with my mum’s doggy day care, looking after a wide range of dogs, many of them are now long-term regulars who I’ve really grown attached to over time. It’s such a lovely feeling seeing familiar faces come back, and I’ve honestly fallen a bit in love with quite a few of them! This experience has helped me feel confident handling different temperaments and making sure each dog feels safe, settled, and genuinely cared for. I truly love what I do and always want every pet to feel like they’re in a calm, happy, and caring home. I work full time Monday to Friday, but I’m available in the evenings as well as full weekends and overnight care. I can offer a range of services including walks, feeding, playtime, sitting, and keeping your pet company. Due to living at home with other pets and family members, I currently offer pet care in the owner’s home. I’m always respectful of your space and will make sure to follow any house rules, routines, or specific instructions you have for your pet.

Siobhan did a great job whilst I was away for 3 weeks. She gave Honey, my cat, a lot of cuddles and really went the extra mile to make her feel cared for. I was really pleased to receive regular updates and videos/ photos of Honey. Siobhan also watered my plants - inside and outside which was a great help.

Philip was absolutely amazing, and I can't recommend him highly enough! From the moment we went away, he kept us updated with photos and videos, which gave us complete peace of mind knowing our cats were happy and well cared for. All of our cats absolutely adore him and are so comfortable around him. What really impressed us was that he even managed to win over our semi-feral two-year-old cat, who normally runs away and hides from everyone. Seeing him earn her trust so quickly was incredible. Philip is kind, reliable, and clearly has a real love and understanding of cats. We were so impressed that we've already booked him again for our next trip in August. Thank you so much, Philip—we wouldn't trust anyone else with our cats! 😺😺😺😺

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Broxbourne pet parents with similar pet households.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Broxbourne choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
