I start by understanding the pet’s usual schedule, diet, exercise needs, and any medical or behavioural requirements, and I follow these instructions closely to keep things consistent for them. Care typically includes feeding according to instructions, ensuring constant access to fresh water, walking or exercise as agreed, playtime and companionship, and administering medication if required. I also keep living areas clean by tidying feeding spaces, cleaning litter trays or cages, and washing bowls and bedding when needed. While in the owner’s home, I respect the space, keep it secure, and provide regular updates so owners feel reassured that their pet is happy and well cared for.
