Safety, trust & environment

In regards of home boarding, I have plenty of experience dog sitting for clients in their homes and I would be happy to provide new clients with references upon request. I am very comfortable with cameras being within the home as I understand the importance of earning trust. Whist I am able to provide boarding at my home, it is important to note I have two residents dogs. One being a very chill independent female neutered French bulldog and one more active playful female neutered golden retriever. I will also provide clients with daily photos and updates of their dogs whilst they are in my care.

The things I will need to know about your dog when looking after your dog; - Recall on walks or need to be kept on lead - behaviour around other dogs on walks (I am open to looking after reactive dogs but this will need to be in client’s home due to resident dogs) -behaviour in the home such as where they sleep, any resource guarding around food bowl or chews - medication and grooming schedule - any training that needs to be carried on whilst I am staying there - how your dog feels about handling (are they comfortable with their lead and harness being put on, are they comfortable being touched all over) - vet details or emergency contacts / permission to take to the vet if unable to reach owner or emergency contact - how they are in the car and if you’re comfortable with your dog travelling to different places for walks

A typical day

Activities will be dog dependent. If I am looking after high-energy working breed, I will ensure they are enriched mentally for each meal using brain games such as puzzles, kongs, or even learning a new trick. Regarding, physical activities I am able to provide two 1 hour walks in wooded areas such as Banstead woods. If the dogs enjoy playing with toys, I will be more than happy to add some needed playtime. With puppies, I am happy to do puppy training such as socialisation to the outside world, basic commands, house training and providing enrichment for teething. With older, or more relaxed dogs, I can do 1 hour walks in one go or split into two 30 minute walks and provide them with simple mental enrichment such as a licky mat.

Pet care experience

Hi, I’m Grace! Dogs have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with two lovely Labradors and was always surrounded by dogs of all shapes and sizes, from energetic Spaniels to gentle giants like Dogue de Bordeaux. Since 2018, I’ve worked professionally with dogs, starting as a dog walker and progressing to Operations Manager at a busy dog walking company. In that role, I regularly handled groups of up to 4 dogs at once and was trusted by owners to care for their pets in their homes. I also spent time volunteering at a dog and cat rescue in Thailand, working closely with animals from difficult backgrounds. That experience taught me patience, empathy, and how to build trust with nervous or reactive pets. I hold a Level 2 Award in Canine Care & Behaviour, and for the past four years I worked at Battersea Dogs & Cats Homeas a Rehoming and Welfare Coordinator. There, I supported dogs with a wide range of behavioural and medical needs, helping them transition into safe, loving homes. I now work for another charity in a home-based role, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to dedicate more time and attention to the dogs in my care.

Grace is absolutely wonderful with dogs, even if you have a somewhat unpredictable and anxious rescue like we do. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her to anyone looking for a loving, thoughtful and really experienced dog sitter/walker/trainer. I never worried for a moment when my dog was with her and Amber always came home happy and exhausted from all the fun she had had. I knew that Grace could handle whatever came up, even if it involved a sudden game of chase Amber wanted to play with joggers! I always got really good, honest feedback too but above all else, I felt like she treated my dog like she was her own, and you can't really ask for more than that.

Firstly let me explain that we have a very complicated Romanian rescue dog, yet from the first time Grace met her, she trusted Grace. Grace has a way with all dogs, not just the complicated ones, that means they feel safe and they ‘take’ to her. No one gets the welcome Grace gets, not even me annoyingly! She is super confident with them, dogs who ‘freeze’ or have anxiety, soon ease up, and it’s a huge relief to see my dog happily walk off with Grace. I Know she is in control of my dog, and I completely trust Grace. She is really very special, and has become part of my dogs family. Unreservedly recommend Grace.

Grace is the best walker I’ve ever had. She is phenomenal with dogs both in a 1 on 1 setting and in group walks. She has worked hard to support and train my dog since 12 weeks old. I’d trust no one but her with him!

Grace has been walking, dog sitting and training my French bulldog since he was 12 weeks old. She has been a pillar of support for us with owning a dog, providing insight into behaviours, training needs and always providing an amazing walking service both in 1 on 1 settings and in pack walks. I don’t trust many witn my dog as he can be hard to handle due to his reactive nature but Grace has always been patient and understanding of his requirements. She has also dog sat in our house and I am very trusting of her in my home alone, looking after our boy!
