“Sarah was absolutely amazing! I really appreciated her flexibility in accommodating my schedule, and Maya had such a great time she didn’t want to leave. Couldn’t recommend her more!”

“Lindsey is so lovely and clearly a dog lover. She was so kind and patient with our very nervous young dog and great with communication too. She took Toby for a long walk and has a great home set-up with a lovely garden. Toby was following her around and taking treats from her by the end of his day which is testament to Lindsey as he takes a long time to warm up to new people. Lindsey's little dog Wilf is also a sweetheart.”

“Gizmo had a lovely day with Mark and Mandy yesterday. He came home and went straight to sleep after lots of walks and loving. Thank you both. Gizmo looks forward to his next adventure at yours.”

“Arlos stay with Emma was amazing. From the moment we walked in there was a sense of calm with zen music playing and the room carefully sectioned off to create a play space with air con and a lovely big outdoor garden for him to play in. We had lots of updates and some beautiful photographs throughout the day and he even received a complimentary groom which was a lovely surprise! I would really recommend Emma and her Partner to look after Arlo again - it’s clear they take care and pride in their work and were a pleasure to meet.”

“Thank you so much Lisa & Tim. Shula had such fun with you and Roxy. The second day I brought her she couldn't wait to get in your house. It's such a relief to know she is happy and well cared for when I have to leave her. Thank you.”

“Charlotte is amazing and so is her family. I would highly recommend her to anyone. She is so caring and loved my little bear!. Couldn't of asked for a nicer family to keep bear entertained”

“Thank you so much Shirley & Chris & Jazz for looking after Marty today. It’s so lovely that he’s relaxed about going into your home at ease as confidence with people as a rescue was a big factor for him.”

About: I'm a mum of 2 older children that are both at school, my husband is Chris, who works from home. Im currently doing a flexible online course so am home most of the day. I live in Brockham which is surrounded by paths and fields. I love the outdoors and try and go for walks everyday. I'm easy going and very flexible, I have a car so travelling is not a problem. I drop my children off around 8:30 and then collect them at 3. In between those times I'm very flexible with walks and slotting it around my studies and children. We have a fenced garden and are both home all day, our children are generally at home from about 4. Both of them are very used to dogs as all our extended family have dogs, Grandma has Izzy a golden retriever, Uncle Paul has Milly a lab cross, then we have 2 lots of spaniels and a beagle. We often have Obi come to stay and he is a labradoodle . We do have Bluey our cat, she usually goes upstairs when dogs are here. We have a big open area downstairs but prefer to not have dogs upstairs.

“First time we left Simba with anyone and he had a great sleepover. Lucie was incredible with Simba and kept me updated on how he was doing to help me feel far more relaxed whilst at my brothers wedding. He is already booked in for his next holiday!”

“Lottie has stayed with Roger and Barbara many times and she is always very well cared for and she is always very happy to see them. The updates throughout the day are also lovely to see. I can’t recommend them highly enough.”

About: Having grown up with many pets including dogs, cats, birds, fish etc. I have lots of experience caring for them and their individual needs. After moving to London I have really missed being around animals, as I am unable to care for one full time, I am looking to spend some quality time with your animals on the weekends. I am currently working full time on weekdays, occasionally remote, so I will mainly be available for weekend pet care with some exceptions. I am a very active individual so am happy to take your pets on long outdoor walks and to nearby parks etc. I live in a 550sqft pet friendly apartment with lots of outdoor space and grass areas nearby to go on walks. I am able to accommodate for any individual needs/routines that your pets may have.
“Rosie and her family were the perfect match for our energetic and loving golden! Easy going, excellent communication and Ziggy clearly had SUCH a fun day with them with walks and plenty of cuddles. Rosie even managed to work around his stubborn nature when it comes to getting in the car, not an easy job when he is testing but she handled him so well. Would love to have him stay with Rosie and family again. Trustworthy and friendly - thank you so much!!”

Lindsey is fabulous! This is Toby's second time with her and he had a brilliant time. This is even more testament to Lindsey as Toby's very anxious and struggles to settle in new places - but when I picked him up he didn't want to leave! Lindsey is great at communicating too, keeping me posted on his day with photos and a video.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
