“Another fabulous daycare experience with Sarah. I picked up a happy and snoozy whippet - reluctant to leave (!) Maya loves spending time with Sarah and her family of humans and four-legged friends. Sarah is hands down one of the kindest most experienced dog sitters out there and we love coming back.”

“Charlotte is amazing and so is her family. I would highly recommend her to anyone. She is so caring and loved my little bear!. Couldn't of asked for a nicer family to keep bear entertained”

“Alex and her family have looked after Bruno for a day. Seems he has enjoyed the stay there. We called her last minute and the day care was arranged really quickly without any problems. Definitely recommend her service.”

About: I have had dogs my whole life some from puppies some rescued. I am at home in the day and offer a warm environment with fabulous local dog walks. Our children are all at school so I am available term time during the week. Plenty of time for walks and play. Overnight stays may be possible. We have a large fenced garden on a private road with good walking. I have a large kitchen with an aga so nice and warm!
“Lindsey was absolutely wonderful with Maya. It meant so much to know that Maya was not only well looked after but clearly having such a great time as well. From the beginning I felt completely reassured leaving her there — Lindsey created such a warm, calm, and caring environment. Knowing Maya was in such good hands made the whole experience incredibly easy and stress-free for me. I’m so grateful to have found her and will definitely be coming back. It was a fantastic experience all around.”

“Buddy had a great time with Mark, his wife and relations dogs. Great and regular communication throughout and lots of photos, thank you so much for looking after him. They are a lovely family, well recommended and we'll use them again.”

“Emma looked after our pointer so wonderfully. She was instantly at home in Emma's home and even befriended the cat! They have an excellent home set-up for the dogs - I couldn't have asked for more attentive care”

“Rosie and her family were the perfect match for our energetic and loving golden! Easy going, excellent communication and Ziggy clearly had SUCH a fun day with them with walks and plenty of cuddles. Rosie even managed to work around his stubborn nature when it comes to getting in the car, not an easy job when he is testing but she handled him so well. Would love to have him stay with Rosie and family again. Trustworthy and friendly - thank you so much!!”

“Jenna was a lovely sitter - she communicated well during the booking process and while our (very excitable!) puppy was with her. She was clearly great with him as he seemed very happy with her when I picked him up! Would definitely re-book ☺️”

Another really fabulous two days for Maya, with lots of fun in the water and plenty of happy adventures! I couldn't recommend Sarah highly enough. She's absolutely fantastic, and Maya always has such a wonderful time with her. It's such a comfort knowing she's in such caring and capable hands, and I always come back to a very happy dog. Thank you, Sarah!

Lindsey is fabulous! This is Toby's second time with her and he had a brilliant time. This is even more testament to Lindsey as Toby's very anxious and struggles to settle in new places - but when I picked him up he didn't want to leave! Lindsey is great at communicating too, keeping me posted on his day with photos and a video.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
