Sausage dog crazy nurse who loves all little dogs.
Licensed for boarding with St.Albans Council - I love all little dogs but especially sausage dogs. I have looked after poodles, Yorkshire terriers, whippets and now have my own sausage dog Nellie. I am a member of St Alban's sausage dogs and have looked after many sausage dogs in St Alban's and abroad. I am registered as a foster carer with Dachshund Rescue UK and hold a dog boarding license with the council. Experience of looking after IVDD dogs and adhering to their schedule. I am a nurse but I prefer looking after dogs to humans 🤣. I am patient and caring, I don't worry about dogs on furniture or beds and am happy to administer medicine etc. Your fur baby is welcome to sleep where they like even on my bed. I can walk your doggy as much or as little as you need. Your doggy will be loved and cuddled a lot and I will bombard you with updates and pics until you tell me to stop🤣

We were really happy with the care Rolo received. He stayed for a week and absolutely loved it — he enjoyed the walks with Nellie and playing with the other dogs staying as well. We had plenty of updates and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kerri. It’s clear Kerri genuinely loves miniature dachshunds and we will definitely use her again :)
Kerri looked after our very nervous mini Dachshund, Lulu, over Christmas and we couldn't have made a better choice for her. Kerri is a devoted and loving mummy for Dachunds and has a real passion for these cute little creatures. Lulu was thoroughly spoilt and felt right at home from the first day. Kerri was brilliant with communication and updating us everyday about Lulu's walks and playtime and also nap times on her knee whilst she was doing chores like sewing or working. Dachunds need a lap and Kerri gave Lulu the most loving lap and the attention she loves so much. Would definitely book again 100 %.
Kerri did an amazing job with our little sausage dog, Poppy. She provided frequent updates, took Poppy on a walk, and made sure she was comfortable and happy. Kerri really understands sausage dogs and how to care for them. Thank you so much, Kerri!

🐾 Kerri really should change her professional title to 'Dachshund Whisperer' - from the moment we reluctantly left Noodle with her, to picking him up and saying some fond farewells, our little sausage dog was enamoured with Kerri and her kind and caring nature. Noodle bonded with both Kerri and Nelly, it was so clear to see and a huge relief for us, as it was the first time we'd left Noodle with anyone over night, never mind 10 days. Although we were miles away over the the other side of the world, the daily updates, little videos and photos were so comforting and assuring, each day another indication Noodle was settling and enjoying his time, in safety and with oodles of happy playing, as well as some very important family chill time. Kerri is wonderful ☀️ and we have all feel like - she and Nelly are part of the family now, Noodle will be back! I cannot recommend her enough - just fabulous !!! 🎉
Kerri was the perfect sitter for Denzel. I couldn't have left him with anyone better. She kept me up to date with regular photos and videos. Let me know frequently how he was getting on and was very accommodating with certain needs for Denzel. I felt at ease knowing he was being looked after with such great care and love. Denzel is already missing Kerri and being around the other sausages.

Schedule
I am semi retired. Your dog will never be left home alone except for twice a week for no more than 3 hours when I look after a local elderly lady. Often on these days my 17 year old dog crazy son is home.

Safety, trust & environment
I have looked after many sausage dogs in my home and am registered as a foster carer with Dachshund UK, their application process was stringent and involved references and a home check. I have an enclosed garden and plenty of open spaces for dog walking and exercise/play nearby. I have many regular sausage dog guests who always bounce into my home with great excitement and saggy tails.
Pets
A typical day
I usually get up about 0730 / 0800 (though can be earlier). I give my dog her breakfast and she plays with me in the garden. A walk is usually late morning or early afternoon. I am exceptionally good at sitting on the sofa and cuddling dogs ! If it is safe to do so (your dog has good recall) I like to do at least one walk off leash so they can have a little freedom. I have a fully enclosed dog field nearby which is a great place for exercise. Sometimes we hop in the car and go to Greenwood Park or the forest.

- I am happy to walk dogs locally if they are a small dog. I am not very strong or experienced with bigger dogs who pull on the lead so for their (and my safety) I cannot do this. I will consider dog sitting in your home if it is local and you are happy for me to come with my sausage dog too.
