About: I’m currently working my way into the animal care industry. I’ve always loved animals, both wild and domestic. I have a lot of free time at the moment so I’d love to spend it wisely and productively so what better way to do so by pet sitting a neighbour in need. There are many cats in my area, some strays and others belong to neighbours but they somehow always find their way in our home and make it their own due to all the love and attention they find here.
“Aiste carried out a drop in visit for our 2 dogs and did a meet & greet a week or so before. Our dogs loved her and she was great with them too. She spent the time on the drop in visit playing with them in the garden & sent us loads of pictures. This is the first time we have used a dog sitter and we will definitely use Aiste again. Thank you.”

“My cats really got on well with Andrea and he provided lots of updates on their time with him. Everything was left lovely and clean when I got home. Andrea was really prepared and made sure to do everything just the way I (and the cats) liked it.”

“Christina was wonderful at checking in on my cats while I was away on holiday. Knowing someone who understood cats was looking after them really put me at ease. It was great having daily updates and photos. I would absolutely use her services again and would highly recommend”

“Elaine is a fantastic cat sitter! She goes the extra mile in caring for our fur babies, and has a very calming presence. I was nervous before, because one of my cats has diabetes and it's a new diagnosis that I'm getting used to, but Elaine calmed me with her presence and kindness, but also her extensive knowledge with her veterinary background! ”

About: I have no special skills other than lots of love, cuddles long walks, and play time,to give your loved fur babies,I lost my shadow ( see photos ) at the start of the year and it broke my heart saying goodbye, he has left a big hole in my life,I cant bring myself to have another dog myself , as funny as it sounds I feel guilty at the thought of getting another dog, i cant replace him ! I dont work weekends so am home more, so able to have over night stays, if your dog is used to being alone for a work day, except pop ins for a wee break lol, then I can do over night stays during the week too, also happy to stay at your own home so your dog feels more at ease and comfortable. Any dog that comes into my home, will be made to feel at home , loved, spoilt, happy to keep to any routines with walks food times etc, allowed to sleep upstairs with myself or downstairs if thats what they are used too, If staying in owners home then I respect your home and any belongings im not a messy person , and will give your dog as much or as little fuss as they want,

About: Lennie and I both grew up with dogs and as soon as we moved in together, we missed them and the welcome home so much, we had to get our own dogs. Now, 30 years later and 4 dogs later, we still love sharing our home with our 4 legged furry friends. Myself and Lennie both work part time so we can arrange for one of us to be available for dog sitting, walking and taking care of our visitors. We both have very high standards in regards to looking after your dog family. We will treat them as we would our dogs - with total love and care. We will also follow all the instructions that you have given us to ensure they are incredibly well looked after. Dogs are our family and we would love for yours to join our family to.

About: Hi, I’m Victoria! I’m a medical student with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs. I currently have a boxer dog and previously cared for another, so I’m very comfortable with energetic, strong breeds and understand the attention, exercise, and patience they need. I’m reliable, attentive, and have a flexible schedule, including weekends, to provide loving care for your pets. I typically have weekends fully free and can have a flexible schedule during the week. I am currently a medical student, which means I am highly dependable, detail-oriented, and excellent at following precise routines. When caring for pets in your home, I strictly follow your routine, ensure all doors and gates are secure, and never leave them unattended. I am highly respectful of your space and keep it tidy.

Zara was absolutely wonderful, and I couldn't have asked for a better cat sitter. She was incredibly helpful, caring, and reliable throughout the two weeks I was away. It was clear from the updates and photos that my cat was happy, relaxed, and thoroughly enjoying her visits... he was always purring and looked completely content with her. She truly spoiled and pampered him, giving him plenty of love and attention, which gave me great peace of mind while I was away. Zara went above and beyond my expectations. She kept the litter area clean, and I came home to a tidy house after two weeks. As an incredibly thoughtful gesture, she even made me food for when I returned, which was such a kind surprise. She is genuinely one of the best cat sitters I have ever hired. I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for someone who will care for their pets and home as if they were her own.

Aiste took wonderful care of our cat, while we were away. She was reliable, kind, and kept us updated with messages and photos, which gave us real peace of mind. It was clear that our cat felt comfortable and relaxed with her, and seeing how happy she looked meant so much to us. We truly appreciated the care and attention Aiste gave her, and we wouldn't hesitate to book with her again. We highly recommend Aiste to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. Thank you so much!

Gizmo was absolutely thrilled to have Maggie looking after him once more while on holidays. For me it was so comforting to know he was in good hands. Maggie was fabulous once again and I returned to a very happy and clearly well looked after cat. Thank you once again.

Rianna was so so lovely with our cat Willow when we went away for a few days. She sent lovely pictures and Willow was looked after so well. She was really professional and not phased when I said out kitty had some weird habits 😅 It was lovely to know Willow was in such good hands whilst we were away. I would definitely recommend Rianna and will be booking with her again 😊

Lucie is brilliant. So caring and gentle with Zara who is a rescue and has never had this environment before. She’s reliable and diligent and always checks in and leaves a message for every visit. She’s so patient and instinctively knows the dog. Zara is calm and content after a visit and that gives such peace of mind. Thoroughly recommend.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Milton Keynes choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
