Very happy with how Berkeley was looker after by Lorraine, plenty of walks and cuddles for him. Regular updates sent to us whilst we were away with pictures showing how he was enjoying himself during our absence :-). Would definitely recommend Lorraine and would have no hesitation in choosing her again to look after Berkeley.

It's so obvious that Frank and Chloe love dogs. They was so attentive, affectionate and good with our Labrador. Frank took care of Sammi like he was his own. I'm so glad we booked with him! Will be booking for our next trip now :)

Andy looked after our dog Lottie overnight and we honestly couldn’t have asked for better care. From the moment we met him, it was clear how kind, trustworthy and genuinely caring he is with animals. Lottie settled immediately and was so happy and relaxed when we collected her. Andy kept us updated, treated her like one of his own, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It’s obvious he truly loves dogs and takes great pride in what he does. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and will absolutely be using him again in the future. First class in every way!

About: Hi, we’re Harry & Dale. We’ve both grown up with dogs and, as a couple, cared for two very different personalities: Max, a high-energy Patterdale Terrier, and Molly, a gentle senior Black Labrador. That experience means we’re comfortable adapting care to suit individual dogs - from energetic walks and play to calmer routines, medication awareness, and senior needs. We’re patient, attentive, and good at reading behaviour, routines, and cues, helping dogs settle quickly and feel at home. Harry works from home most weekdays, so dogs are rarely left alone and can enjoy company, supervision, and regular comfort breaks throughout the day. Our routine is flexible, calm, and built around the dog’s usual feeding, walking, and rest schedule. Our home is relaxed, clean, and dog-friendly, with a secure garden for supervised outdoor time. We keep routines clear and consistent, follow owner instructions closely, and only take on dogs we’re confident we can care for safely and attentively. We don’t have children, and visiting family is always considered carefully around any dog in our care. Clear communication, regular updates, and your dog’s comfort and wellbeing always come first.

Richard and Elaine came to the rescue when another sitter had to cancel two weeks before my trip. I'm so pleased I found them as they looked after Bella really well and made her feel immediately at home and are lovely people. They will definitely be top of my list when I'm next looking for boarding for Bella.

About: Throughout my life, I have always had pets, especially cats. I have cared for one, two or even three cats at a time. I have also looked after friends’ cats and dogs, including a Doberman and three Boston Terriers. I genuinely love animals and understand how important it is to provide them with care, attention, and companionship. I can have pets over night, every night and on my days off, mostly Thursday and Sunday, on the days off I have lots of time to spend with little furry friends 🧡 I have secured balcony there cats can enjoy sunshine and watching birds, I love cuddling them and play with them. About: Hi! 🐾 I’m a caring and reliable dog lover who would be delighted to look after your furry family member while you’re away. I understand how important it is to leave your dog with someone you trust, so I provide a safe, loving and comfortable home-from-home environment. Your dog will get plenty of attention, cuddles, playtime and regular walks, while keeping to their usual routine as much as possible. I’m happy to follow specific feeding instructions and accommodate individual needs. I’ll also keep you updated during their stay with messages and photos, so you can relax knowing they’re happy and well cared for. ❤️ I treat every dog as if they were my own and want them to feel safe, settled and loved throughout their stay. I’d love to meet you and your dog before booking! I’m available full time for dog boarding and can offer walking services also. Myself and my husband both work from home so your dog will have around the clock love and affection! I have a fenced secure garden, I live near multiple fields which I have used for dog walking. There is also a local dog walking field which I can hire for those more energetic dogs who enjoy to be off lead. Although we allow dogs on the sofa and our bed, we can accomodate a crate too.

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of our lives, and over the years we have owned and cared for a wide range of breeds, including Border Collies, Alsatians, German Shepherds, Spaniels, Labradoodles, and now two wonderful dogs of our own—a 3 year old rescue from Cyprus and a 2 year old German Shorthaired Pointer. We live in a large home with a spacious, fully enclosed and secure garden, giving dogs plenty of room to play safely. Our own dogs are crate trained, so we're happy to accommodate crate-trained dogs if that's part of their normal routine, but it's by no means essential. We'll always follow the routine that your dog is most comfortable with. Exercise is a big part of our day. We walk our dogs three times daily: a lead walk in the morning, another lead walk at lunchtime, and an evening walk by the river where dogs can enjoy some off-lead time if they have reliable recall and you are happy for them to do so. If not, we're equally happy to keep them on the lead. As I work fully remotely, your dog will rarely be left alone and will have company, attention, and supervision throughout the day. We understand how important it is to know your dog is being cared for just as they would be at home, and that's exactly the environment we aim to provide. Our dogs are part of the family, and any dog staying with us will be treated the same—with plenty of love, attention, exercise, and care. We know every dog is different, so we'll always take the time to understand their personality, routine, and any specific needs to make sure they have a happy, relaxed stay. I work full-time remotely, which means I am home throughout the day and able to provide plenty of company, supervision, and attention for your dog. Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine as our own dogs already have a structured exercise schedule. We walk our dogs three times a day: a morning lead walk, a lunchtime lead walk, and an evening walk by the river where dogs can enjoy off-lead time if they are allowed and have good recall. We also have a large secure garden where dogs can relax and play safely. I am available for boarding, daycare, and weekend stays, and I will always aim to keep your dog's normal routine as consistent and comfortable as possible. Your dog's safety and wellbeing are extremely important to us. We have a large home with a spacious, fully fenced and secure garden, giving dogs plenty of room to relax, play, and enjoy themselves safely. We have years of experience owning and caring for different breeds, including Border Collies, German Shepherds, Spaniels, Labradoodles, and currently our rescue dog from Cyprus and our German Shorthaired Pointer. Both of our dogs are crate trained, and we are happy to accommodate crate-trained dogs if that is part of their normal routine, although it is not essential. We understand that every dog has different needs, so we will always follow your instructions around feeding, exercise, behaviour, and comfort. We are also experienced with administering medication, as our German Shorthaired Pointer requires medication as part of her care routine. Because I work remotely, dogs staying with us will have regular company and supervision throughout the day. Our aim is to make every dog feel safe, settled, and treated as part of the family while they are with us.

We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter for our Yoshi! ❤️ She had an absolutely wonderful week with Oliviu and his lovely family, and she even made a special friendship with his dog. Oliviu treated Yoshi like a little princess, giving her lots of love, attention, and even homemade treats! 🥰 It was so reassuring to receive daily updates, photos, and videos, which showed us just how happy and well cared for she was. Oliviu is genuinely a lovely man who clearly has a huge heart for animals. We felt completely comfortable knowing Yoshi was in such caring and loving hands. If you’re looking for someone to care for your dog, we can’t recommend Oliviu highly enough. He is absolutely amazing with animals, and we would happily trust him with Yoshi again, and I am sure she would love to come back for this 5 star holidays ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
