“Yet another amazing time Charlie has had so much so she is sulking with us. We always know our dog is in great hands with Bobby& Gary absolute genuine wonderful couple very friendly and always welcoming, see you soon”

“Andy was loving and caring towards our two dogs! He was not only professional but easily contactable and replied promptly every time. We were not only comfortable with him looking after our dogs, we would consider visiting their family as they got along so well with our pups! We received images of the dogs and updates daily! Would highly recommend.”

“Emily was excellent, great communication sending us photos and updates. She really put us at ease about leaving our dog for the first time with a sitter. We will definitely be using Emily again and lola loved her time there.”

“So grateful to have discovered June. Our senior dog was so happy and really well cared for and we didn't worry about him for a second while we were away. We've already booked him in for his next holiday 🥰”

“What a fantastic experience; thanks so much Tracy for all the messages, pictures, walks and attentive care whilst we were away. I could continue, but think the best review came from Waffle herself when she was reluctant to leave you and come home with me!!...clearly she'd be more than happy to stay with you again, so look forward to booking her in with you soon.”

“I left Sparkey with JiaYuan for 5 days while we were on holiday and they were amazing! Sparkey came back home very happy and clean and I got video updates of him every day having the best time with Nana.”

“Bernie had a great few days with Melissa. She provided plenty of updates and photos, and he came home tired and happy. Would definitely recommend, and are using her again later this year.”

“Our first time using Rover and we certainly picked the right person! Leaving the dogs with Emma felt completely safe. Emma sent us pictures of the dogs throughout the time she had them which we really appreciated. The dogs always looked happy. We would 100% use Emma again and would recommend her to anyone. Thank you so much for looking after them for us.”

“Thank you so much for looking after Milo and the photos and updates. I’m sure he had so much fun, he’s probably sad to be back home! Will definitely book again in the future.”

“This was Shadow's second stay with Charlotte and her family and I could clearly tell, when picking her up, that she had a blast as she didn't want to leave! Highly recommend Charlotte's services (and special shoutout to her little assistant, Reuben!)”

“Katherine accepted to look after my dogs despite it was a very short notice . The communication was very smooth and easy . Unfortunately, one of my dogs turn out to be not very good with children and we had to shorten the period for staying , but she gave us a great support by communicating with Rover's support team patiently so that we receive the refund for those dates . Thank you very much !”

“Goofy had a very joyful time at Shreya’s , specially his companion Riley. This was our second time with Shreya and she is very good will definitely book her again and recommend always”

“Rey and Suki had another 2 night stay with Angela and her family. I was sent photos and updates throughout, which made my weekend relaxing. They had many walks and I believe a lot of fuss. Thank you for having them 🐾🐾”

About: I've had my own dogs for over 20 years, and they have always been a vital part of my life. I have 15 years of experience with dog sitting and boarding, and have a great knowledge of how to handle dogs of all shapes and sizes, including senior dogs, puppies, and rescues. I'm confident with what to do in an emergency, and you can guarantee that your dogs will be loved intensely when I'm around! I love spending time playing, doing training sessions, going for short walks or just snuggling. I also have experience with a variety of other smaller pets, including caged pets, parrots, fish, reptiles and amphibians - I would be happy to arrange an extra fee to care for any other smaller pets you may have while I do housesitting or drop-ins for your dog or cat! I'm self-employed, and I can arrange my work around any pet sitting I do - when I'm with your pet, they will be my sole focus and number one priority. If I'm staying for longer than 3-4 days, I may need to arrange to nip home for an hour or so to look after my other pets - they're all reptiles/amphibians, so only need feeding twice a week! I will work with you to make sure your pet is happy, either by bringing them with me in the car, or making sure they're content being left for an hour. I work with you, the owner, in terms of safety, to determine what your pet's requirements are. I'm happy to maintain their usual day-to-day schedules regarding feeding times, play and rest, and toilet breaks. I currently have a sprained ankle that means I can't take dogs for walks longer than about 20 minutes, which is why I'm only available to sit small dogs that would be content with getting most of their exercise and stimulation by way of playing, inside or in the garden. For your peace of mind, I have a Pet First Aid Level 2 certification and an Enhanced DBS Check. I always bring a fully stocked pet-specific first aid kit with me to every booking, and also make sure to carry it with me on every walk, so I'm prepared for any event that may happen, however unlikely it may be.
“Amanda was so kind, and excellent communication and updates throughout really set us at ease. The whole family took such good care of our Hazel-- I think she loved her stay. I'd strongly recommend Amanda and we'll definitely be working with her again in future.”

“We cannot say enough good things about Jennifer! Our dog, Dookie absolutely loves spending time with her. It’s such a relief to go away knowing he isn’t just being watched, but truly cared for. Whether he’s having the time of his life out on the farm or relaxing at home, Jennifer ensures he gets tons of stimulation and attention. Dookie always comes back happy, and we can tell he’s been treated like family. If you’re looking for a sitter who genuinely loves animals, Jennifer is the best!”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Cherwell
Annabelle was very lovely, friendly and thoughtful. After initial meet and greet at her house, my dogs were very excited to come back and looked comfortable like at home. I've never seen them be so comfortable at someone else's home! I received photos and updates through their stay with Annabelle which was great. Definitely would recommend, Annabelle is a great sitter 👍

Highly recommend Bryce and family for dog sitting. They followed our instructions for Jet to the letter with feeding, walks, etc., and he clearly had a lovely overnight stay, appearing calm and relaxed when we picked him up. The house and garden set up was perfect. An added bonus was an adorable child for Jet to play with. Would not hesitate to book again.

Bryce and his family were absolutely wonderful with Dot, they took care of her like she was their own, even doing things like cleaning her eye crease when it looked a bit sore. Wouldn’t hesitate to book him again. She got 2 walks and lots of love which is all you can hope for!

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
