“We used Jessica last minute due to unforeseen circumstances, but she was amazing throughout putting our minds at ease knowing Leo was being well looked after. After the first meet my partner and myself were really happy with Jessica and Troy and left feeling Leo would be cared for. Jessica provided daily updates for the duration of his stay, which helped us massively enjoy our time away knowing our boy was in good hands.. I would recommend and will be using Jessica again in the future.”

About: I have a remote job for a tech company which means that your dog will never be left alone and can go outside or play with me whenever they like. I can easily adapt when I walk them based on their usual routines from early mornings till late evening, as well as multiple times a day. I want to dog sit mainly because I work remotely, my partner Alex works full time in Rugby so most of the day I am alone so I would adore some dog company! I would one day love to have a dog of my own, but as I have recently finished my Masters degree, started my career and bought a house that is still a few years away. My family dog Amber lives with my parents so I miss her terribly! Every dog I would look after would get the same love and care I would give her. I also spend a lot of time with my boyfriend’s family’s three Jack Russels, and having grown up in a village full of dogs who we often looked after growing up, I am very comfortable with different breeds, temperaments and energy levels including the really high energy ones. My home is in a quiet village with a fully dog proofed garden (chicken wire has been nailed to the open fence) that overlooks the fields. There is a dog park opposite where the dog can also be let of the lead for a good run around, as well as lots of good walks nearby. Even though I am new to this app I am setting my years of experience to when my family first got Amber which was 10 years ago as I have been looking after her so much in that time, as well as looking after different dogs in the village for either the day or for a week at a time. As I work remotely I can take my breaks and lunch whenever is needed for your dog. I am up early morning a few hours before work if they need a good walk in there as well. I have a fenced garden and can keep watch of them at all times to make sure they are safe and happy. I can adapt their living based on what they have at home: I can put a baby gate up if they are usually not allowed upstairs, or allow them or not onto furniture depending on your preferences as well. I also have a dog seatbelt for the car if they prefer to go to a certain park or need to be driven anywhere for any reason.
“Angela and Mark are wonderful with Ruff. They take her to new places, let her sniff, gives her lots of cuddles and send us lots of pictures to document her stay with them. 2nd time we’ve used their services and we certainly will again. Always an absolute pleasure to meet them and people we know we can trust.”

“Emily was lovely and so kind to Dali, she definitely understands the dog world :) her two lovely pups are so cute as well and special thanks to her daugter Elizabeth for having fun time with Dali :) lovely to meet them!”

“Emily was excellent, great communication sending us photos and updates. She really put us at ease about leaving our dog for the first time with a sitter. We will definitely be using Emily again and lola loved her time there.”

“Bentley’s first ever stay over that really went perfect for not only Bentley but for us too. He settled immediately in after meeting Alice, Will and Winston , who treated him as their baby too, which meant we knew he was in safe hands. Alice made us instantly feel at ease and reassured us he was going to get the same attention that we give him. Thank you 🥰”

“Otis is a bit anxious and always very busy so we were nervous about leaving him in someone's home, but right from the start Kristy put us at ease. Krisy gave us daily updates about long walks and swimming, which, as it was our first time was really appreciated. Otis will definitely be holidaying with Kristy again!”

“Fantastic stay! Joe has been fantastic from first contact. Really easy contact amd arrangements. Joe has been so accommodating and my dog, Pinkman, clearly loves staying there! Joe sent lovely photos and videos of our dog very happy in his stay, playing and snoozing like a home from home.”

“I left Sparkey with JiaYuan for 5 days while we were on holiday and they were amazing! Sparkey came back home very happy and clean and I got video updates of him every day having the best time with Nana.”

“Humbug had an excellent stay with Melissa. We received photos of various adventures, walks, and naps, and he clearly enjoyed his snacks. It was our first time using Rover, and Melissa made everything easy. We will definitely be using her services again.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Emily and Paul. This was the first time we’d ever left our dog, Zulu, with anyone, so we were naturally a little anxious. From the very beginning they were fantastic, even taking the time to meet us beforehand so we could get to know them and introduce Zulu to them and their own dog. Throughout his stay they kept us updated with regular photos and messages, which really put our minds at ease. It was clear they genuinely cared about making sure Zulu felt comfortable, settled and happy, and they did everything they could to make the whole experience as stress free as possible for both him and us. We came home with a very happy dog and couldn’t be more grateful for the care they gave him. We’d recommend Emily and Paul without hesitation and will definitely be booking with them again. Thank you both for looking after Zulu so well!”

“Skye was very well looked after by Craig and loved running around with his two lively Dalmatians. I loved the photo updates. It's clear that Craig is a dog lover and treats the visiting dog like his own. I would definitely recommend him.”

“Ben spent his first sleep over at Bobbies and had a great time. Bobbie and Gary are obviously very ‘ doggy’ oriented people and we are now confident to let him have further stays and lots of outings. Thanks again both.”

About: My wife and I both grew up with dogs, we've had our own for over 3 years now. We've been sitting dogs via rover for over two years now. We like to take our dogs for a long morning walk, around 5km and a shorter afternoon walk to make sure they're well exercised. My partner and I work mostly remote, there is always one of us at home so we are very flexible with sitting and walking dogs. We have a dog of our own, we always like to have a short introduction first to ensure they get on (we haven't had any rejections yet!). We always walk the dogs at least twice a day: a long walk in the morning and a shorter walk in the afternoon. We have a fenced garden with lawn area for the dogs to sunbath and run around in.

“We were leaving on Holidays and my wife and I needed to find someone we could trust our baby boy as this was our first time on Rover. We found Alex and saw very good reviews so we went for it. We met with her and immediately felt she was perfect and our dog would be in great hands. I cant stress enough how good she was with our dog, constantly sending us pictures and videos and updates, our puppy had the time of his life and we were calm that he was OK and having lots of fun. If you need a dog sitter dont hesitate to trust Alex, you will not regret and your dog will be with someone who really loves dogs. Thank you Alex for looking after our boy, we will definitely come back when we need you”

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
