About: I have a remote job for a tech company which means that your dog will never be left alone and can go outside or play with me whenever they like. I can easily adapt when I walk them based on their usual routines from early mornings till late evening, as well as multiple times a day. I want to dog sit mainly because I work remotely, my partner Alex works full time in Rugby so most of the day I am alone so I would adore some dog company! I would one day love to have a dog of my own, but as I have recently finished my Masters degree, started my career and bought a house that is still a few years away. My family dog Amber lives with my parents so I miss her terribly! Every dog I would look after would get the same love and care I would give her. I also spend a lot of time with my boyfriend’s family’s three Jack Russels, and having grown up in a village full of dogs who we often looked after growing up, I am very comfortable with different breeds, temperaments and energy levels including the really high energy ones. My home is in a quiet village with a fully dog proofed garden (chicken wire has been nailed to the open fence) that overlooks the fields. There is a dog park opposite where the dog can also be let of the lead for a good run around, as well as lots of good walks nearby. Even though I am new to this app I am setting my years of experience to when my family first got Amber which was 10 years ago as I have been looking after her so much in that time, as well as looking after different dogs in the village for either the day or for a week at a time. As I work remotely I can take my breaks and lunch whenever is needed for your dog. I am up early morning a few hours before work if they need a good walk in there as well. I have a fenced garden and can keep watch of them at all times to make sure they are safe and happy. I can adapt their living based on what they have at home: I can put a baby gate up if they are usually not allowed upstairs, or allow them or not onto furniture depending on your preferences as well. I also have a dog seatbelt for the car if they prefer to go to a certain park or need to be driven anywhere for any reason.

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely enjoy. As an owner of two tiny Pomeranians, I understand that pets are family and deserve patience, love, and individual attention. Whether it’s walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, I provide personalised care to help every pet feel safe, relaxed, and happy. My goal is to give owners complete peace of mind, knowing their beloved companions are in caring and trustworthy hands. My schedule is very flexible, giving me the opportunity to provide attentive, one-on-one care throughout the day. I can easily adapt to your pet’s routine, ensuring they receive regular walks, playtime, affection, and companionship while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my highest priorities. I provide a calm, loving, and secure home with a fully fenced garden where dogs can safely enjoy fresh air and play under supervision. I live with two adorable, small Pomeranians who are incredibly friendly and love the company of other dogs, helping to create a warm and relaxed environment for every guest. I understand that every pet is unique, so I always take the time to follow their usual routine and make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved, giving you complete peace of mind while you’re away.

About: I’ve had dogs around my whole life. We recently lost our sweet pup after 14 amazing years together, so the house has just been way too quiet lately! Having raised dogs from crazy puppies all the way to gentle seniors, I totally get that they aren't just pets—they're proper family. I'm completely used to all the little details that keep a dog happy, whether that's sticking to strict meal times, managing meds, or just making sure they get plenty of affection and feel right at home. I work from home and own my own business. Having a dog around again will be a great pleasure as I miss the companionship. I have plenty flexibility and their routine would become my routine. They would become my co-worker. I keep things super comfortable and flexible for guest dogs. My home has laminate flooring throughout, plus a nice rug in my office where I work. They’ll also have access to a large, high-fenced garden with plenty of grass to stretch their legs. On warm days, I leave the garden doors open so they can potter in and out as they like. Your pup can hang out with me in the office all day or find their own favourite cozy spot!

Lovely home from home for Tiggy. She obviously had a great time with Bobbie and Gary. We loved Bobbie's updates, making us smile on numerous occasions! We would be very happy for Tiggy to stay again in the future, and would fully recommend Bobbie and Gary to anyone looking for a safe and secure 'home from home' boarding experience for their canine family members.

I cannot recommend Angela enough. Angela and Mark are both amazing and to say they took good care of our dog is an understatement. They gave him a family member care and went above and beyond in many ways. Our dog is a rescue so he can get nervous in new situations but Angela and Mark's experience and gentle approach made him settle quickly. Thank you so much for being on Rover.

We are a family of 4, myself, my husband Rowan, our 4 year old son and of course our gorgeous Labrador Harley! We are very outdoorsy and love to be out in all weathers! Always more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Available most weekends Friday - Sunday for boarding, check ins and walks. I work locally and my husband works shifts. During boarding dogs are never left alone as we are home and love to take them everywhere we go too! I have a fenced garden and live in a quiet area. About: I have been walking and looking after pets for the last 4 years or so. I really enjoying walking dogs, spending time with them and learning about their different personalities. I’m well equipped for dogs with behavioural issues. I have 2 dogs and a cat aswell as Guinea pigs and hamsters previously. I have it listed on here that I don’t own any dogs, this is because they are not currently living at the home in London and are at my mum house in Oxfordshire. I can look after senior dogs and can administer medication. My schedule can be quite flexible however I am dipping in and out of shifts and different places. I am however mostly available. I am taking a year out before going to Bristol next September I live near big fields and also have sufficient land so will take the pet on multiple walks a day. I have 2 dogs at home, a 4 year old female cocker spaniel and a 1 year old female jack Russell puppy. They are both good with dogs and other animals.

About: Hi! I’ve grown up with dogs, horses and other animals my whole life and can’t imagine a home without them. I currently have one dog of my own who will come with me for overnight stays and will be at my house if I am looking after your pooch. I work from home most days, which means plenty of company and attention for your dog. I’m lucky to have countryside walks just minutes away, plus a secure garden for safe playtime. I’m experienced with all varieties - from lively puppies to gentle seniors, and I’m comfortable with administering medication and sticking to special diets! I have been pet sitting alongside my day to day job for 10 years now and can provide references. When your dog stays with me, they’ll be treated like part of the family. I can adjust my routine to fit theirs! You’ll get daily photo updates so you can see how much fun they’re having. The only thing I ask is that they are friendly with my pooch. I currently work full time, mainly from home other than 5 hours on a Tuesday. I can amend my routine to fit around dogs needs. I can do day boarding and overnight boarding but my own dog will be here with me. I have a fenced garden, many walks straight from my doorstep. I have a dog of my own here and my neighbours do have dogs on the other side of the fence, so just something to think about if you have a highly reactive doggo! Dogs are allowed on the furniture but if you prefer dogs to be crated whilst I’m out - usually only short burst to pop to the shop, I do have small crates from when mine was a pup. For larger dogs you would need to provide the crate.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
