This was my first time using Rover for pet sitting. Lisa and her husband did an excellent job taking care of my dog and cat through drop-in visits. They provided daily updates and pictures which I greatly appreciated. After our meet and greet, I trusted that they would take great care of my babies. My pets were very affectionate with them so I knew they would be in great hands. Lisa went above and beyond. She and her husband spent extra time walking and playing with my dog. While being away, I am usually slightly worried about my pets because I'm not sure how they will be, especially my dog because he is a high energy breed, but I had no issues at all. The daily check-ins easied my mind greatly. I will definitely be booking with Lisa again!

MJ has been great throughout. She responded quickly to all messages, and went above and beyond with photos and videos while we were away. She took care to get to know our shy girl, who seemed to take to her straight away! Thank you so much!

About: I have been walking and looking after pets for the last 4 years or so. I really enjoying walking dogs, spending time with them and learning about their different personalities. I’m well equipped for dogs with behavioural issues. I have 2 dogs and a cat aswell as Guinea pigs and hamsters previously. I have it listed on here that I don’t own any dogs, this is because they are not currently living at the home in London and are at my mum house in Oxfordshire. I can look after senior dogs and can administer medication. My schedule can be quite flexible however I am dipping in and out of shifts and different places. I am however mostly available. I am taking a year out before going to Bristol next September I live near big fields and also have sufficient land so will take the pet on multiple walks a day. I have 2 dogs at home, a 4 year old female cocker spaniel and a 1 year old female jack Russell puppy. They are both good with dogs and other animals.

About: I have worked professionally with dogs for the last 10 years - working in kennels, dog walking and more recently becoming a dog trainer. I am experienced walking dogs of all breeds and sizes, and with all different behavioural needs. I also have a 9 month old Labrador puppy, so I am happy walking dogs of all ages :) I am dog walking full time, and so I can accommodate longer walks, and can fit into your busy schedule to ensure you pup gets all the physical exercise they need! I have a crash proof crate in my car if you would like the dog to be taken somewhere new to walk. I also have plenty of long-lines and flexi leads to allow freedom without the risk of your dog not recalling back to me.

Sian was amazing, we are very grateful to her for taking such wonderful care of our two cats. She used the drop in logging and visit report features really well, so we felt really well informed, and her communication was excellent. When we got home the cats weren’t bothered, which must be a sign of how well looked after they felt 😂 thanks again Sian!

About: PLEASE NOTE: I am only offering boarding and day care in the dog owners home, in effect, I would also be house sitting for the dog owner. PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately I don't drive and can only take requests from dog owners who live near a bus route or train station. I have always had an affinity with dogs; or rather they have an affinity with me! Dogs I have never met before always bound up to me and want to play! I have a very calm and patient personality which I think dogs pick up on. This in turn calms them and makes them feel comfortable. I am also an artist and a lover of the outdoors, which means I am always aware of my surroundings, taking in information that could inform my art as well as the surroundings the dog is in - I take my time whilst walking dogs as it's important for them to explore the environment they are most comfortable in - the outdoors. I work part-time so I will be able to work round people's individual needs. I will block off on my calendar when I am unavailable I always follow sitters specific instructions regarding how well their dogs are around other people, other dogs and stick to specific areas permitted by the owner.

About: Finding someone you trust with your pets isn’t always easy. especially if your dog is reactive, nervous, or has behavioural challenges. As someone who owns a reactive dog myself, I truly understand how difficult it can be to find someone you feel comfortable leaving them with. The worry, the guilt, and the fear that they’ll be misunderstood is something I’ve experienced too. That’s why one of my favourite parts of pet sitting is building a genuine relationship with both you and your pet. I love taking the time to earn your pet’s trust, learn their personality, and create a bond where they feel safe, comfortable, and happy. At the same time, I want you to feel just as confident, knowing your pet is being cared for by someone who genuinely understands and treats them like family. Whether your pet is reactive, nervous, full of confidence, or somewhere in between, I always adapt my care to suit their individual needs. Every pet deserves patience, kindness, and understanding. Thank you for trusting me with your four-legged family members and I can’t wait to meet you all. i am currently coming out of a kennel job to try and fulfill my dream of having my own walking and sitting business, i would love to be the one you pick and trust i am knowledgeable on all breeds and behaviours, working with anxious, aggressive and resource guarding dogs at work, my dog at home is also people and dog reactive so i know the struggle of taking them on walks or trying to get care

About: I have experience of very large houses in the UK/USA and complex multi-pet sits along with medicines and would be sensitive to your dogs needs and optionally enjoy running which my dog-sit-dogs love about me. I have managed two huge black labs and even walked them at the same time. So energy/size is fine. We've also managed both very old dogs (with associated issues/meds) and rescue dogs (with their unique issues) and have references to that. I think it is a good match as I am home all the time (mostly retired). For a pet sit I am a HIIT sprinter which the dogs love as it is exciting to take them out and run about. For cats I like to hide small water bowls around the place as I find they enjoy the surprise. I'm part retired and a home worker; for play and security. I'm very physically active and enthusiastic about your pet getting out also each day. I'm part retired and a home worker; for play and security. About: I have had pets my whole life and looked after family, friends and strangers animals for over 10 years. I believe all animals deserve the best care from their owners and/ or pet sitters. I have experience administrating/ injecting diabetes medication for dogs and have looked after deaf, blind, big or small dogs. I’m currently working part time, so roughly 3 to 4 hours a day so pet care works really well with my schedule as there is no long periods where they are left alone! I have a secured garden where my own dog roams and has not managed to escape for 10 years! There is grass and lots of various things for them to sniff around and explore.

There are 760 sitters on Rover for Cat Sitting in Cherwell. About 90% of Cherwell sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
