“I highly recommend Lauren as a dog and house sitter! She was on time, communicated clearly, and made everything incredibly easy. She took such wonderful care of Rue. We came home to a happy dog and a tidy house. I couldn’t ask for better care. Will definitely book again!”

“Caitlin was on time and looked after Rocky overnight in our house. She sent updates while we were away and took him out for walks. Can’t recommend her enough! Thank you Caitlin!”

“Phoebe looked after our two dogs while we were away and did a fantastic job from start to finish. Both dogs were happy, well cared for, and clearly comfortable in her company. Beyond the dogs, she went well above what we’d expected. The house was immaculate when we got back: tidy, organized, and everything just as we’d left it. She also watered the plants and took care of feeding our other animals, so we came home to a household that had clearly been in very capable hands. Phoebe is reliable, thoughtful, and genuinely trustworthy, the kind of sitter you can leave in charge and not think twice about. We wouldn’t hesitate to have her back, and we recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone looking for someone to care for their pets.”

“This is the first time I have left my dog at home with a sitter, he is 14 years old & a bit grumpy. Zanthi was great with him, and he was absolutely fine with her from the word go. Zanthi came to meet us before she came to sit & made friends with my dog. I went away happy that my dog was being cared for by her. She sent me regular updates & photos, and when I returned, the house was spotless. I would absolutely recommend Zanthi as a sitter, and will definitely be booking her again.”

“Millie was amazing looking after our 2 dogs while we were away for a long weekend. Kept us updated throughout. Wouldn’t hesitate in using her again when we next need our dogs caring for. Thanks again Millie!!”

“Chelsea looked after my 5 month old Doberman Rocco whilst i was away for a few days! Being a large, strong puppy, I was nervous about finding someone who could handle him. Chelsea was absolutely amazing with him. She was patient, loving and knew how to handle his energetic outbursts & wasn’t afraid to give him a time out if needed. Chelsea sent me regular updates and pictures. I returned home to a happy, healthy pup! Would definitely recommend! Thank you Chelsea! ?”

About: Hi! I’ve grown up with dogs, horses and other animals my whole life and can’t imagine a home without them. I currently have one dog of my own who will come with me for overnight stays and will be at my house if I am looking after your pooch. I work from home most days, which means plenty of company and attention for your dog. I’m lucky to have countryside walks just minutes away, plus a secure garden for safe playtime. I’m experienced with all varieties - from lively puppies to gentle seniors, and I’m comfortable with administering medication and sticking to special diets! I have been pet sitting alongside my day to day job for 10 years now and can provide references. When your dog stays with me, they’ll be treated like part of the family. I can adjust my routine to fit theirs! You’ll get daily photo updates so you can see how much fun they’re having. The only thing I ask is that they are friendly with my pooch. I currently work full time, mainly from home other than 5 hours on a Tuesday. I can amend my routine to fit around dogs needs. I can do day boarding and overnight boarding but my own dog will be here with me. I have a fenced garden, many walks straight from my doorstep. I have a dog of my own here and my neighbours do have dogs on the other side of the fence, so just something to think about if you have a highly reactive doggo! Dogs are allowed on the furniture but if you prefer dogs to be crated whilst I’m out - usually only short burst to pop to the shop, I do have small crates from when mine was a pup. For larger dogs you would need to provide the crate.
“Donna and Nyki are wonderful sitters and I would have no hesitation using them again and recommending them. They clearly love animals and ensure their care is the priority. They give regular updates too which is nice and reassuring. Friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.”

“Martina is our new angel! She was amazing from before her dates even started and only continued to amaze there after! Martina came out and walked with the dogs before the start date so that they felt more comfortable when we left. She actually came over at 2:30am when we left so they’d be less stressed as wee left, even though I assured her it wasn’t necessary. She went above and beyond in every interaction she had with the dogs and us. Martina provided comprehensive updates everyday, which is was very reassuring for us whilst we were away. She even noticed medical requirements that arose on one of my dogs and after consulting me, started to provide care according to my wishes. Even kept the house clean when we said she didn’t need to. Cannot recommend enough, one of the most conscientious dog carers we have ever used and I’ll definitely be leaning on her for dog walks and boardin in the future as the dogs clearly love her. Many thanks Martina”

About: My family has had dogs and cats my entire life. Our previous pets were a beautiful cocker spaniel and a ginger male cat. Now our home has no pets and I would be happy to help with yours! I am an equestrian specialist and have just returned from global work. My entire BSc degree and then career has been shaped around animal training and care, please get in touch for any help you need! While living in the Caribbean, I would spend some of my time off helping at the dog shelter on my street. I would take the adult dogs out for day trips at the beach (it was so sweet!). I am currently in the office two days a week (wed&thur). For the rest of the week I can choose how much work I complete! This is a great time for me to help out with pets. They are able to have my full attention. We have a grass covered garden that is well fenced in. Directly next to our house we have many fields and lovely walks. I am happy to take on any of your pets routines so they are comfortable. There is a 9 and 12 year old in my home part of the time. The time they are here will change weekly. They adore pets, and are great with animals… please be in contact about wether any boarding will be around the children or not :)

About: Hi, I'm Kirstie, thank you for looking at my profile! I have owned animals my whole life, we are definitely a family of animal lovers! At the moment we have eight cats, Joey, Lacie, Dynamo, Kurt, Saxon, Mini Big, Ginge and Gus, two long haired and the rest short haired. They all have their own unique personalities, but mostly have one thing in common, they love a fuss and a cuddle! We do have one cat who has her 'boundaries' and so I am used to those cats who prefer their own space! I could think of nothing better than spending my days getting to fuss over lots of different animals, cats are my first love but I have a soft spot for all animals 🥰 This is my full time job so I have plenty of availability! I work to their routine, in every way. They become family to me! I work to you and your pets routine, feeding times, walk times, where they sleep etc. Pets prefer to stay in their own homes, and I will do everything I can to make sure they feel at home with me.
About: I have been working around animals pretty much my entire life, so much so that I have formal qualifications in animal care. I have experience working in Catteries which came with professional training on administering medication and treatments while on the job! I have a deep seated interest in cat and dog behaviour and psychology. I have studied this for years, employing what i have learnt onto my own furry friend to great effect, to the point that she performed on stage, in a rendition of "The Wizard of Oz" where she, of course, played the role of Toto I look forward to hearing from you and meeting all of your pets! I'm available all hours of the day and every day of the week! So if you need a dog sitter for your holiday in 3 months, or if you need one in 30 minutes, I'll be there! When I'm sitting with your dog I will do exactly what you need and request! If your dog has a specific regime then let me know and it'll be followed to the letter! I have a large amount of experience with giving medication to cats and dogs, so if your furry friend struggles with any health issue then let me know! That way you can rest easy knowing that they will be kept in peak health while you're away However if you have a dog that can be a little silly and needs to be trained or helped in some way then look no further! I have a triple distinction in animal care so I have the qualifications to make sure your furry friend is the happiest they can be! I can always offer the services of my own dog if that's something which floats your boat! She is a very well trained dog that has endless experience with helping other dogs, by giving them an example to follow if needed.

“Luke came to meet us and our dogs Bear and Aura before our agreed date. He kept in contact with us and was punctual and polite. Made us feel at ease knowing he was there and although for a short stay the dogs were looked after. I would recommend Luke as Bear is a fussy dog but accepted Luke which is a thumbs up. Would use again in the future.”

“I have used rover quite a few times over the past year and I can confidently say Ruby & Danny and by fast the best out there. My dogs can be very needy with attention and difficult to walk however Ruby & Danny took this in their stride. They loved my dogs as if they were their own, letting them have cuddles in bed and face kisses when ever they wanted. They also sent daily Pupdates with pictures of how they were getting on so I always felt at ease and reassured that they were happy and not missing me. 100000/10🌟”

“Good job, well done. Angela AKA Sandie house say and looked after our 2 little wolves in Monday. They were settled and calm and i appreciated the pics she messaged me of them resting. With her partner Tony, they looked after them again on Tuesday.”

About: I just completed a level 3 extended diploma in animal management and hold a level 2 pet sitting qualification alongside a level 2 dog walking certificate. I've worked on canine training and monitoring behaviours and behaviour modification in college along with many other skills. I work on a dairy farm alongside cows, and our farm dog who I work on training with regularly. My family have also had dogs since I was born. I am currently off for the summer, focusing on my freelance work, so I am available to either provide my undivided attention to your pet or if they are a bit more independent, I can pop in and provide care. I also babysit along with petcare so may occassionally have babysitting jobs that may cross over with the pet sitting. I am very attentive, I will keep your pet occupied and happy, and ensure that any safety such as leash are used and will treat your pet like my own. I will ensure that any abnormal behaviours are reported to yourself and leave everything as I found it in regards to your home. I will provide your pet with plenty of love, care and attention.
About: Hi I'm Giulia! I absolutely love animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. I share my life with a highly trained Belgian Malinois, and my partner also works closely with working dogs, so I’m very comfortable handling intelligent, energetic and sensitive breeds, as well as maintaining consistent routines and calm handling. I often care for my friend’s dog when they’re away from feeding schedules to long walks, playtime and cuddles. Whether your pet loves adventure, gentle company or quiet companionship at home, I’ll make sure they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I work three days a week (Tuesday - Wednesday - Thursday) and after my gym session I have plenty of time on my days off. I would love to walk dogs and take care of animals in the countryside. Happy to do overnights with your pups! I have plenty of space in the garden for you puppy to have a wander, the garden has a fence all around so it’s pretty secure.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - South Northamptonshire
We had such a lovely experience with Danny and Ruby and felt completely at ease leaving our dog and cat in their care. They were incredibly reliable and so kind and understanding when our plans changed unexpectedly due to the loss of another of our pets. Their flexibility and compassion really meant a lot to us during a difficult time. They sent loads of photo updates, which we absolutely loved, and it was clear our dog was having the best time with plenty of long, happy walks and lots of attention. It made being away so much easier knowing our pets and our house were so well cared for. They were always quick to respond, thoughtful in their communication, and just genuinely lovely to deal with. We’d happily book them again in a heartbeat and would recommend them without hesitation. We hope to see them again before too long - we think the dog might be pining!

Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Northamptonshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
