“Rhiannon was a fantastic dog sitter. She got on so well with my dog and clearly knew how to take good care of him. He quickly settled with her and felt safe. From my meet and greet I could see what a lovely and respectful person she is. My home was spotless on you return showing her care for my home as well as my dog. I will certainly be booking Rhiannon again and highly recommend her. Me and Bodhi thank you 😊”

“Sarah was great looking after our pooches - they’re not the easiest being rescues and Bobby and Poppy needing daily medication but Sarah took this in her stride and was happy to administer and take the time to let them warm up to her.”

About: I have two dogs of my own and love caring for them and exercising them. I have trained them both from 8 weeks old and whilst it has had its challenges I persevered and have two well behaved retrievers. I have grown up with dogs and have plenty of experience in training and caring for them. I currently work for the ambulance service and care and treat people. On my days off I would love to care for and exercise dogs. I currently work full time as an EMT for the ambulance service but would love to spend my days off caring for and walking dogs. My schedule changes from week to week but I know when I’m working quite far in advance so can book you in when needed. I have a fenced garden. I have two dogs of my own so the house is set up for large dogs to roam. No clutter and it is clean and tidy.
“Thank you so much, Courteney, for taking such great care of Bobby and Bertie! It was lovely to see how happy and settled they were, and it was such a relief knowing they were being looked after so well while they were with you. The house was spotless and lovely and clean. They clearly had a wonderful time and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with you again. Thank you for making their stay so enjoyable! 🐾❤️”

“After an initial meet & greet with my dogs, Zoe was able to help on fairly short notice. The dogs were happy and walked when it was cool enough, and the house was well kept - very happy to have had Zoe, and will be looking to use her again.”

“From the first meeting, we just knew Jonathan was the right fit for us and our little fur babies. Jonathan is warm kind gentle and bury engaged with our pets and we felt most comfortable leaving them in his care. We have received photos and updates while we were on our holiday and have already booked Jonathan in for our next one. Highly recommend.”

About: I have about 5 years experience looking after my mother in-laws dog. He is a cross between a labrador and a husky, he was rescued from the streets of Romania, at 4 months old. I feed him, give him treats, I change his water, take him out for walks & I play with him. At the moment I'm available immediately to come & look after your furbabies, whether it's a visit or pet sitting overnight. I'm really looking forward to sharing my love for them all. I will only be able to visit your home, as I have 3 cats of my own. This way I can pay them more attention in your own home, or take them for walks if this is their normal routine.
“Lovely young lady. Ty-Lee was brilliant with my little daushaund. It’s the first time I’d ever used a house sitter but Ty - Lee was wonderful and put me at ease straight away. She came to meet Millie pre booking and whilst looking after her for the weekend she kept me updated with pics. Will definately use her again.”

“Joanne looked after our young dog really well. She was attentive to Jodie’s need not to be left. They clearly had fun together and we came home to a healthy, happy dog. She looked after our house with great respect and left everything clean and tidy. Joanne kept us well informed about both Jodie and other things going on. We would here no hesitation in using her again or recommending her”

“What can we say about Martina very friendly and professional went above and beyond really especially for the times she arrived to care for Daisy. Martina is lovely and was very good with Daisy who appeared very happy in the photos that Martina sent to us which reassured us she was being well looked after and Daisy had plenty of excercise. Daisy is very much in the moment when walked Martina was unfazed by this and has taught her some great manners so thanks for that. Daisy loved Martina and had a great time and she was looking for her this morning when we got up so that's a big plus. It was the first time we had left Daisy so was slightly nervous but there was no need she was in good hands and I will definitely be asking for Martina next time we plan a trip. Thanks again Martina your a star.”

“Ashika was great with our dog. Was a bit nervous leaving her with someone new but ashika made sure she took her time so she could get used to a new person in the house. Lots of updates throughout the day and followed our instructions. Will use again”
About: I have a qualification in animal welfare and have experience and a current career in a pet shop. All my time is spent around animals I’m currently working full time which are normal 9-5 work hours but have 2 days off in the week! I am constantly around animals and can’t imagine a life without them I have a fenced in garden that allows lots of room for your animals to play in! I do have animals in my house but not ones that they would meet if they have any problems with other animals!

“Mel is an experienced dog owner and therefore I had no reservations leaving Loki with her. She took time to understand his personality, commands, likes and dislikes and was adaptable to make sure he had a great stay. The excitement he showed seeing her after their intro meet was clear he had a great time. He was definitely spoilt and would absolutely book with her again !”

About: I've taken care of dogs since i was a young child. I am happy to deal with all types of dogs and am available for dog walking, sitting and in home visits to feed and let the dogs out. I can also look after cats and have been a cat owner in the past too. I do flexible local delivery so looking after the dog or cat comes first and i can organise deliveries around that. So first of all i would agree which days and times i'm offering my services then stick to it as a priority. I only do care within other peoples homes. I have a dbs for added security. I always use items provided by the pet owner to keep the dog familiar with it's environment.

Millie was great looking after our 2 dogs for the day. It was the first time using her services and we felt very comfortable leaving our dogs with her. We had updates throughout out the day and when we got home the dogs were very relaxed and happy. Definitely recommend Millie

Sabrina looked after my dog Ruby whilst we went away and stayed in our house with her. She kept me updated with pictures. Majority of her rolled over for belly rubs or sleeping looking very chilled. The house was kept tidy when we came back. I felt at ease knowing she was being looked after by Sabrina. She is very caring and I will definitely use her again. She has made a friend for life with Ruby ..she loves seeing her and gets excited when i say sabrina is coming. Thanks so much.

Rebecca is absolutely fantastic, she helped me out at short notice and looked after my dog and two cats whilst I was at an event. She took so much care with following feeding schedules and leaving the house lovely - will definitely be booking again. It’s such a worry trusting your pets with someone new but Rebecca came highly recommended!

Our dog loved his time with Angela. She ensured he had plenty of walks, gave him lots of attention, and played endless tuggy. Angela stayed in regular contact, sent lots of photos and updates. She kept the house clean and tidy and I would highly recommend her if you are looking for an experienced, confident dog walker.

Wow what a find Christine was! Was great before we went and absolutely fantastic while we were away. Sending daily update’s, be it a photo or video at least once a day. We were a little nervous to leave our fur babies as it’s the first time we have left them with anyone apart from our immediate family but wow would recommend Christine to anyone that needs your fur babies to be looked after in their own home. 5 stars 🌟 all the way.

I honestly can't recommend Zak highly enough. Although Bennie (staffy rotty cross) is a big softy at heart, he can be a boisterous handful - he's still very young and loves to play. Zak made an effort to meet Bennie beforehand and understand all of his needs, he was incredibly attentive and Bennie adores him. Zak looked after Bennie in our home and we felt completely at ease knowing he was with him, he sent photos letting us know Bennie was having as good a time as we were. Zak was the perfect house guest and I'm so pleased we've found someone trustworthy and genuine who Bennie felt right at home with...I don't think he missed us at all :) Thanks again Zak

Danielle came across very professionally throughout, she was quick to respond and took the time to come over and meet us and our dogs before the booking. On the day she arrived on time, and took into account all our instructions. Our dogs were very happy with her and well looked after!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Northampton walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Northampton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
