“I can’t rate Courteney highly enough! Communication was excellent right from the start and she was very flexible. Most importantly, my dog was immediately taken with her and I was able to go out without any worries at all about how she was doing. I got updates over the evening too. Would definitely ask Courteney to help again in the future!”

“After an initial meet & greet with my dogs, Zoe was able to help on fairly short notice. The dogs were happy and walked when it was cool enough, and the house was well kept - very happy to have had Zoe, and will be looking to use her again.”

About: I’ve always loved animals and grew up with pets, but my real hands-on experience began when I rescued my Spanish Greyhound, Luna, in 2020. She came from a difficult start. Found on the streets and never having lived in a home, so building her confidence, routine, and trust has been an incredibly rewarding journey. She’s now a happy, well-adjusted dog and a huge part of my life. Through caring for Luna, I’ve developed a strong understanding of patience, consistency, and reading a dog’s behaviour, especially with more sensitive or nervous dogs. While I’m at the beginning of offering pet care professionally, I regularly look after pets for friends and family, and I genuinely love spending time with animals of all personalities. I know how important it is to feel confident leaving your pet in someone else’s care. It’s not just about walks or feeding, it’s about trust, routine, and making sure they feel safe and happy. That’s exactly what I aim to provide. I’m reliable, attentive, and will always treat your pet as if they were my own. Whether it’s walks, drop-ins, or pet sitting, I’m here to give you peace of mind and your pet the care, attention, and affection they deserve. I currently work full time so the majority of my availability would be in the evenings during the week, I also have availability all day over weekends. I have a fenced garden and have my own dog that is very sociable with others to keep them company on walks. I’m also happy to visit your home and spend time with your animal in their own environment as I know not all dogs are comfortable in new places.
“Isabelle was fantastic, she moved her world to take care of Daisy following an unfortunate situation that meant I had to go to hospital following an accident the night before. Isabelle and Daisy became great friends too in such a short space of time, I had to stop her getting into the car as Isabelle was leaving, all things considered it was a successful first meeting, and we are all looking forward to our next encounter.. 😂😂 seriously a lovely person with a great kindest for animals, it's the second experience on Rover and both have been truly satisfying. Keep up the good work you dog lovers 🥇”

About: I am a family dog lover with hands on experience caring for dogs of all ages and sizes. I have my own dog and understand routines, boundaries and reassurance. I offer calm, reliable care, regular walks, feeding, playtime and plenty of affection. I treat every dog as part of the family and always follow your instructions so your pet feels safe, settled and well cared for. Dog care fits easily around my routine. I work flexibly, so I am available morning, afternoon and evening for walks, feeding, play and company. I am used to sticking to routines and can follow your dog’s usual schedule, including exercise needs, medication and downtime. I am available on weekdays and weekends and can be flexible where needed. Your dog’s safety and comfort always come first. My home is calm, clean and dog friendly, with clear boundaries and supervision. I follow your dog’s routine closely, including feeding, walks and rest time. I am confident managing different temperaments and will separate dogs if needed. I can also care for dogs in their own home, keeping things familiar and low stress. I keep owners updated so you feel reassured while you are away.
“Lovely young lady. Ty-Lee was brilliant with my little daushaund. It’s the first time I’d ever used a house sitter but Ty - Lee was wonderful and put me at ease straight away. She came to meet Millie pre booking and whilst looking after her for the weekend she kept me updated with pics. Will definately use her again.”

About: I have taken care of many dogs and other animals over the years since i was 16. I have a terrier mix who is reactive I have helped care for since she was 6 months old, she is now 9. A rescue and my beloved baby. I also recently had my family buy a German Shepard who is currently 10 months old, and consistently help to keep her entertained, many fun walks alongside my Terrier mix and overall just have had the great experience of watching her grow into her personality! I also have a cat who has lived with me for the past 2 years and my sister recently got rats which I also help care for. Back in April 2026 I looked after my uncle's three schnauzer's, one of which was a diabetic and needed insulin ever meal, and also 2 needed medication every day also , so if you have dogs with health needs I am more then able to accommodate that ! And at the end of May 2026, I looked after my aunts dogs, a cockapoo and a crazy but lovable cocker spaniel. Many walks with those two spent mostly getting soaked and throwing a very wet ball. I can work with dog walking any dog of any size, having grown up walking dogs of all sizes all my life. I know about medical routines any dogs may need and can stick to them. Also with dog walking i know how to tire a dog out so they are happy without it being a stressful experience for them. I have no work currently, and if I do get work it'll be part time! Looking after pets is something I really enjoy , and I believe any and all pets should be able to get the care they deserve ! Currently I have no other obligations, so I am free to come look after your pets whenever you need. I am DBS checked and have insurance ! Also have basic pet first aid knowledge and i' on a course for pet sitting and dog walking. Keep to routines the pets know! It can be confusing for a pet to have someone they don't fully know coming out look after them so I know sticking to the routines they are use too is a big way to help them feel more comfortable and safe. Same with if a pet has any medical issues and such, I would stick to routines with that too so they get what they need daily. Ensuring I have my eye on them when walking or if they out in a garden to make sure their safe is something else I ensure I do .
“Martina is our new angel! She was amazing from before her dates even started and only continued to amaze there after! Martina came out and walked with the dogs before the start date so that they felt more comfortable when we left. She actually came over at 2:30am when we left so they’d be less stressed as wee left, even though I assured her it wasn’t necessary. She went above and beyond in every interaction she had with the dogs and us. Martina provided comprehensive updates everyday, which is was very reassuring for us whilst we were away. She even noticed medical requirements that arose on one of my dogs and after consulting me, started to provide care according to my wishes. Even kept the house clean when we said she didn’t need to. Cannot recommend enough, one of the most conscientious dog carers we have ever used and I’ll definitely be leaning on her for dog walks and boardin in the future as the dogs clearly love her. Many thanks Martina”

“From the first meeting, we just knew Jonathan was the right fit for us and our little fur babies. Jonathan is warm kind gentle and bury engaged with our pets and we felt most comfortable leaving them in his care. We have received photos and updates while we were on our holiday and have already booked Jonathan in for our next one. Highly recommend.”

“Caitlin was on time and looked after Rocky overnight in our house. She sent updates while we were away and took him out for walks. Can’t recommend her enough! Thank you Caitlin!”

“Luke came to meet us and our dogs Bear and Aura before our agreed date. He kept in contact with us and was punctual and polite. Made us feel at ease knowing he was there and although for a short stay the dogs were looked after. I would recommend Luke as Bear is a fussy dog but accepted Luke which is a thumbs up. Would use again in the future.”

About: I grew up around dogs and have extensive experience caring for them. I regularly look after dogs for family members when they're away on holiday, so I'm comfortable with different breeds, personalities, and routines. As I work from home three days a week, I have the flexibility to check in on your pup throughout the day, whether they need care, company, or a walk in the morning, afternoon, or evening. Being a dog owner myself, I understand the love, attention, and care our dogs deserve. I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs, and it would be a pleasure to care for your pup while giving you peace of mind that they're in safe and caring hands.

About: I am a 25 year old animal lover with over 7 years experience, looking to offer my support through Rover. I have a wide range of experience having house sat and pet sat for people in their own homes, staying for a minimum of 1 night to a maximum of 10 days. Along side this experience, I have also had the pleasure of looking after people’s pets in my own home aswell. And along side this I have huge experience in walking all types of dogs. I have cared for a variety of dogs including Hungarian Vizsla, Cockapoo, Golden Retriever, Shih Tzu, and many more from puppy stages through to older ages. I’m more than happy to have meet ups provided we both have time, mainly to make sure you get to know me and to check we are the right fit for each other, which we always are. ☺️ I’m currently working from home and are able to walk your pet whenever they need to, to fit their routine. Every evening I’m available so I would also love to do it then as well. I have a fenced garden and live right next to a huge park. I like to go above and beyond learning your pets routine, as disrupting this can cause more distress especially when away from home. I’m prepared to do whatever I need to in order to make your pet comfortable, no ask is too big!
About: I’m a fully qualified dog groomer, working in the animal industry for 10+ years. I’m up to date with pet first aid. I currently work full time, until the end of July, where I will then be working part time (Mondays and Tuesdays). Therefore will have availability from Wednesday to Sunday! I’d treat every dog as I treat my own, with lots of love, cuddles and respect. All information will be taken very seriously, so your pets will be kept to the same routine you give them.

“Ellie was polite, professional and very caring with my 2 dogs and always kept me updated. She went above what was expected and treated my home with respect and consideration. I would happily recommend her and use her services again ☺️”

Rebecca is absolutely fantastic, she helped me out at short notice and looked after my dog and two cats whilst I was at an event. She took so much care with following feeding schedules and leaving the house lovely - will definitely be booking again. It’s such a worry trusting your pets with someone new but Rebecca came highly recommended!

Millie is an absolute gem of a find. Bertie took to her immediately, her knowledge of dog care, training, behaviours and welfare is fantastic. Here care for Bertie is second to none absolutely first class and five star. She has worked on his separation anxiety with super results. Can’t wait for her to return. Her daily updates and photos have been incredible and we highly recommend her for your dog. On every level of dog welfare, care and love for your special friend. Thank you Millie 5⭐️ ❤️❤️

Our dog loved his time with Angela. She ensured he had plenty of walks, gave him lots of attention, and played endless tuggy. Angela stayed in regular contact, sent lots of photos and updates. She kept the house clean and tidy and I would highly recommend her if you are looking for an experienced, confident dog walker.

Wow what a find Christine was! Was great before we went and absolutely fantastic while we were away. Sending daily update’s, be it a photo or video at least once a day. We were a little nervous to leave our fur babies as it’s the first time we have left them with anyone apart from our immediate family but wow would recommend Christine to anyone that needs your fur babies to be looked after in their own home. 5 stars 🌟 all the way.

I honestly can't recommend Zak highly enough. Although Bennie (staffy rotty cross) is a big softy at heart, he can be a boisterous handful - he's still very young and loves to play. Zak made an effort to meet Bennie beforehand and understand all of his needs, he was incredibly attentive and Bennie adores him. Zak looked after Bennie in our home and we felt completely at ease knowing he was with him, he sent photos letting us know Bennie was having as good a time as we were. Zak was the perfect house guest and I'm so pleased we've found someone trustworthy and genuine who Bennie felt right at home with...I don't think he missed us at all :) Thanks again Zak

Danielle came across very professionally throughout, she was quick to respond and took the time to come over and meet us and our dogs before the booking. On the day she arrived on time, and took into account all our instructions. Our dogs were very happy with her and well looked after!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Northampton walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Northampton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
