“Sabrina has looked after our dogs a couple times now, including walks and an overnight stay, and she has been absolutely fantastic. She’s incredibly reliable which gave us total peace of mind. The dogs were completely comfortable with her from the start, and it’s clear she genuinely cares about them. She left our home spotless, it looked like no one had even been there. We’re so grateful to have found someone so trustworthy, caring, and professional, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.”

“Zuzanna did a lovely job looking after Louie, stayed at our house with no issues at all, sent photo updates of a very happy dog to be in her company! Would definitely rebook & recommend, Thanks, Lucy”

“Odie can sometimes be touch and go depending on who he stays with. He seemed totally calm and happy in the many updates that Ella sent us as well as when we got home. Would highly recommend - thanks Ella!”

“Lovely young lady. Ty-Lee was brilliant with my little daushaund. It’s the first time I’d ever used a house sitter but Ty - Lee was wonderful and put me at ease straight away. She came to meet Millie pre booking and whilst looking after her for the weekend she kept me updated with pics. Will definately use her again.”

“I can’t rate Courteney highly enough! Communication was excellent right from the start and she was very flexible. Most importantly, my dog was immediately taken with her and I was able to go out without any worries at all about how she was doing. I got updates over the evening too. Would definitely ask Courteney to help again in the future!”

“Luke came to meet us and our dogs Bear and Aura before our agreed date. He kept in contact with us and was punctual and polite. Made us feel at ease knowing he was there and although for a short stay the dogs were looked after. I would recommend Luke as Bear is a fussy dog but accepted Luke which is a thumbs up. Would use again in the future.”

About: I have been working around animals pretty much my entire life, so much so that I have formal qualifications in animal care. I have experience working in Catteries which came with professional training on administering medication and treatments while on the job! I have a deep seated interest in cat and dog behaviour and psychology. I have studied this for years, employing what i have learnt onto my own furry friend to great effect, to the point that she performed on stage, in a rendition of "The Wizard of Oz" where she, of course, played the role of Toto I look forward to hearing from you and meeting all of your pets! I'm available all hours of the day and every day of the week! So if you need a dog sitter for your holiday in 3 months, or if you need one in 30 minutes, I'll be there! When I'm sitting with your dog I will do exactly what you need and request! If your dog has a specific regime then let me know and it'll be followed to the letter! I have a large amount of experience with giving medication to cats and dogs, so if your furry friend struggles with any health issue then let me know! That way you can rest easy knowing that they will be kept in peak health while you're away However if you have a dog that can be a little silly and needs to be trained or helped in some way then look no further! I have a triple distinction in animal care so I have the qualifications to make sure your furry friend is the happiest they can be! I can always offer the services of my own dog if that's something which floats your boat! She is a very well trained dog that has endless experience with helping other dogs, by giving them an example to follow if needed.
“Our dog loved his time with Angela. She ensured he had plenty of walks, gave him lots of attention, and played endless tuggy. Angela stayed in regular contact, sent lots of photos and updates. She kept the house clean and tidy and I would highly recommend her if you are looking for an experienced, confident dog walker.”

About: I have taken care of many dogs and other animals , however I don't think my lab when I was a kid counts. I have a terrier mix who is reactive I have helped care for since she was 6 months old, she is now 9. A rescue and my beloved baby. I also recently had my family buy a German Shepard who is currently 8 months old, and consistently help to keep her entertained, many fun walks alongside my Terrier mix and overall just have had the great experience of watching her grow into her personality! I also have a cat who has lived with me for the past 2 years and my sister recently got rats which I also help care for. Back in April 2026 I looked after my uncle's three schnauzer's, one of which was a diabetic and needed insulin ever meal, and also 2 needed medication every day also , so if you have dogs with health needs I am more then able to accommodate that ! And at the end of May 2026, I looked after my aunts dogs, a cockapoo and a crazy but lovable cocker spaniel. Many walks with those two spent mostly getting soaked and throwing a very wet ball. I have no work currently, and if I do get work it'll be part time! Looking after pets is something I really enjoy , and I believe any and all pets should be able to get the care they deserve ! Currently I have no other obligations, so I am free to come look after your pets whenever you need. Keep to routines the pets know! It can be confusing for a pet to have someone they don't fully know coming out look after them so I know sticking to the routines they are use too is a big way to help them feel more comfortable and safe. Same with if a pet has any medical issues and such, I would stick to routines with that too so they get what they need daily. Ensuring I have my eye on them when walking or if they out in a garden to make sure their safe is something else I ensure I do .
“What a wonderful experience! Martina could not have taken better care of Twix & sent some many pictures & updates on her stay. We would not hesitate to welcome her into our home again.”

About: I have about 5 years experience looking after my mother in-laws dog. He is a cross between a labrador and a husky, he was rescued from the streets of Romania, at 4 months old. I feed him, give him treats, I change his water, take him out for walks & I play with him. At the moment I'm available immediately to come & look after your furbabies, whether it's a visit or pet sitting overnight. I'm really looking forward to sharing my love for them all. I will only be able to visit your home, as I have 3 cats of my own. This way I can pay them more attention in your own home, or take them for walks if this is their normal routine.
About: I’ve always loved animals and grew up with pets, but my real hands-on experience began when I rescued my Spanish Greyhound, Luna, in 2020. She came from a difficult start. Found on the streets and never having lived in a home, so building her confidence, routine, and trust has been an incredibly rewarding journey. She’s now a happy, well-adjusted dog and a huge part of my life. Through caring for Luna, I’ve developed a strong understanding of patience, consistency, and reading a dog’s behaviour, especially with more sensitive or nervous dogs. While I’m at the beginning of offering pet care professionally, I regularly look after pets for friends and family, and I genuinely love spending time with animals of all personalities. I know how important it is to feel confident leaving your pet in someone else’s care. It’s not just about walks or feeding, it’s about trust, routine, and making sure they feel safe and happy. That’s exactly what I aim to provide. I’m reliable, attentive, and will always treat your pet as if they were my own. Whether it’s walks, drop-ins, or pet sitting, I’m here to give you peace of mind and your pet the care, attention, and affection they deserve. I currently work full time so the majority of my availability would be in the evenings during the week, I also have availability all day over weekends. I have a fenced garden and have my own dog that is very sociable with others to keep them company on walks. I’m also happy to visit your home and spend time with your animal in their own environment as I know not all dogs are comfortable in new places.

About: I have dog sat for my friends and i have also walked my friends dogs for them quite regularly. I have also looked after family dogs for days in a row. I am currently a primary school assistant, however i work one hour a day usually in the morning every week, i also do event work but this is not consistent and normally work in the evenings finishing around 10-11pm. I also work in a cafe every saturday starting at 9am and finishing at 4pm. I can easily care for your pets as I have had pets of my own, my family is also very pet orientated and have quite a few dogs within my extended family which I am able to look after and make them feel comfortable.
“Wow what a find Christine was! Was great before we went and absolutely fantastic while we were away. Sending daily update’s, be it a photo or video at least once a day. We were a little nervous to leave our fur babies as it’s the first time we have left them with anyone apart from our immediate family but wow would recommend Christine to anyone that needs your fur babies to be looked after in their own home. 5 stars 🌟 all the way.”

Millie is an absolute gem of a find. Bertie took to her immediately, her knowledge of dog care, training, behaviours and welfare is fantastic. Here care for Bertie is second to none absolutely first class and five star. She has worked on his separation anxiety with super results. Can’t wait for her to return. Her daily updates and photos have been incredible and we highly recommend her for your dog. On every level of dog welfare, care and love for your special friend. Thank you Millie 5⭐️ ❤️❤️

Our dog loved his time with Angela. She ensured he had plenty of walks, gave him lots of attention, and played endless tuggy. Angela stayed in regular contact, sent lots of photos and updates. She kept the house clean and tidy and I would highly recommend her if you are looking for an experienced, confident dog walker.

Sabrina is a true gem. She came round for a preliminary visit to meet Bertie before she stayed at my home to look after Bertie, who instantly bonded with her. We had a good chat about and I felt very comfortable and confident with leaving Bertie in her care. She sent me regular updates with photos too and reassured me that Bertie was fine and coping well at home especially with this recent heatwave we have had. She left the house clean and tidy and watered the plants for me. I would definitely recommend Sabrina to look after your pets and your home. I will certainly be using her again. Thank you so much Sabrina

What can I say other than Louisa is 10/10 fantastic. As soon as I met her, I felt completely at ease that I was leaving my babies in the hands of someone kind, trustworthy, and loving. We just got back from a weeks holiday away, and were kept up to date with all their adventures and fun. We have historically been let down with pet sitters, but I wouldn't think twice about booking Louisa again as she is a rare combination of being trustworthy, sensible, and also a lovely person. The pets (and us!) look forward to seeing you again!

I honestly can't recommend Zak highly enough. Although Bennie (staffy rotty cross) is a big softy at heart, he can be a boisterous handful - he's still very young and loves to play. Zak made an effort to meet Bennie beforehand and understand all of his needs, he was incredibly attentive and Bennie adores him. Zak looked after Bennie in our home and we felt completely at ease knowing he was with him, he sent photos letting us know Bennie was having as good a time as we were. Zak was the perfect house guest and I'm so pleased we've found someone trustworthy and genuine who Bennie felt right at home with...I don't think he missed us at all :) Thanks again Zak

Danielle came across very professionally throughout, she was quick to respond and took the time to come over and meet us and our dogs before the booking. On the day she arrived on time, and took into account all our instructions. Our dogs were very happy with her and well looked after!

It was an absolute pleasure to have Reece dog sit over the weekend! He was wonderful with Stan, who can be a bit difficult with new people, but they got on straight away and it really put our minds at ease knowing we left him in such great hands. The house was left spotless and we will definitely be using him to look after Stan again :)

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Northampton walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Northampton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
