What can we say about Martina very friendly and professional went above and beyond really especially for the times she arrived to care for Daisy. Martina is lovely and was very good with Daisy who appeared very happy in the photos that Martina sent to us which reassured us she was being well looked after and Daisy had plenty of excercise. Daisy is very much in the moment when walked Martina was unfazed by this and has taught her some great manners so thanks for that. Daisy loved Martina and had a great time and she was looking for her this morning when we got up so that's a big plus. It was the first time we had left Daisy so was slightly nervous but there was no need she was in good hands and I will definitely be asking for Martina next time we plan a trip. Thanks again Martina your a star.

About: Hi! I’m a caring and responsible dog lover who has been a dedicated dog owner since April 2020. Although I don’t have formal pet sitting experience, I have hands-on experience caring for my own dogs every day — including raising a few newborn puppies. This has made me especially patient, gentle, and attentive to dogs’ needs at every stage of life. I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pet. I will treat your dog like my own family member, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved at all times. Pet care is already part of my daily life as a dog owner, so I easily incorporate it into my routine. I am available after 4:30pm on weekdays and all day on weekends. I also work from home one day between Tuesday and Thursday, which means I can offer daytime care and keep your dog company instead of leaving them alone. I have a flexible schedule during these times and can provide reliable, attentive care, ensuring your pet receives plenty of companionship, supervision, and love. I specialise in caring for pets in their own home, where they feel most comfortable and secure. By keeping your pet in a familiar environment, I help reduce stress and maintain their normal routine. I carefully follow all instructions, stay attentive to their behaviour, and make sure they feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for at all times. This approach is especially beneficial for dogs who are anxious, shy, or simply prefer staying in their own space. I’m also happy to provide regular photo and video updates for your peace of mind.

Colin and Cris are fantastic. We have just returned from a 2 week holiday overseas and they looked after our 5&1/2 year old Sprocker Eddie. I get concerned about leaving him as he’s a nervous boy as was born during Covid. However Colin and Cris have been amazing with him and so I have been confident while being away that he’s been so well looked after and really happy too. They gave him lots of different walks each day, played with him and gave him plenty of cuddles. We were sent lots of photos and videos while we were away too which was so lovely to receive and so reassuring of how happy Eddie was. I totally recommend Colin and Cris to look after your pets. They are a really lovely couple who look after your dog and their needs incredibly well but also look after your house really well too. We will definitely look to book them again. They’re amazing 🤩 Thanks so much Colin & Cris 😊

About: I’ve been around dogs and small animals my whole life. Growing up, our family had a Springer Spaniel named Buster (from my birth until I was about 5), a Black Labrador Retriever named Roly (until my teenage years), and a Beagle named Millie. In my twenties I helped care for three dogs full-time with a former partner — two Golden Retrievers (Shadow and Luna) and a Newfoundland (Koda) — plus three rats for three years. I’m passionate about all animals and nature, and I love spending time with pets — giving them walks, playtime, feeding, and the individual attention they deserve. I’m experienced with different breeds, sizes, and energy levels, and I’m always eager to learn more about each pet’s unique needs. I work a 4 days on / 4 days off shift pattern (6am–6pm). On my off days I’m generally fully available, though I’ll update my calendar for any specific busy times. On work days I can accept walks and drop-ins from 7pm, but nothing after 9:30pm as I need to sleep by 10pm for my early shift. I’m flexible for evenings and weekends when possible and always communicate clearly. I provide care in the pet owner’s home only. I’m very attentive and follow all instructions carefully regarding feeding, walks, playtime, and any medications. I’m experienced with different breeds and always prioritise the pet’s comfort, safety, and routine. I can give regular toilet breaks and plenty of attention during my visits.

Mel is an experienced dog owner and therefore I had no reservations leaving Loki with her. She took time to understand his personality, commands, likes and dislikes and was adaptable to make sure he had a great stay. The excitement he showed seeing her after their intro meet was clear he had a great time. He was definitely spoilt and would absolutely book with her again !

Luke is really good with dogs, he knows what they need, what they like. Cooper is big blind boy but we knew that we can go on holiday with clear mind. He also cared about our garden which we highly appreciate. Cooper absolutely love Luke! He is missing him already. We can recommend Luke if anyone needs help with dog!

About: I have always looked after animals since a young age. I have a family Springador who is now 9 years old and a 2 year old Cockapoo who is also a family dog (but do not live with me). I miss going on more regular dog walks so I am looking forward to meeting lots of new fur-friends! I love being outdoors and regularly go on walks - so why not exercise the dogs at the same time! I work from home so I enjoy getting out and about during the week and at weekends. I work from home 4 days a week and regularly go on walks either in the morning, at lunch or in the evening (depending on the weather). I am also around at weekends. I have a secure grass garden and hard floors downstairs. There is also space for a crate or dog bed and the house can be made dog-friendly when required.

Jiahui looked after our 8 year old labrador while we were away at a family wedding, and we can't praise her highly enough. She is very polite young lady who obviously loves dogs and cared for ours and kept her happy , and sent us lots of photos and information to let us know how things were going which was much appreciated. We would have absolutely no hesitation in using her again in the future !

About: I grew up around dogs and have extensive experience caring for them. I regularly look after dogs for family members when they're away on holiday, so I'm comfortable with different breeds, personalities, and routines. As I work from home three days a week, I have the flexibility to check in on your pup throughout the day, whether they need care, company, or a walk in the morning, afternoon, or evening. Being a dog owner myself, I understand the love, attention, and care our dogs deserve. I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs, and it would be a pleasure to care for your pup while giving you peace of mind that they're in safe and caring hands.

Volodymyr is an interesting man with a very calm personality which suited our energetic Staffy-Cross well. He gave us regular 'pupdates' and followed our instructions to the letter. He also left the house immaculately tidy (actually even tidier than he found it). Would certainly recommend his services.

FAQs for House Sitting – Daventry

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Daventry on Rover is £34.5 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 1,462 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Daventry. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Daventry walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Daventry choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
