“Phoebe looked after our two dogs while we were away and did a fantastic job from start to finish. Both dogs were happy, well cared for, and clearly comfortable in her company. Beyond the dogs, she went well above what we’d expected. The house was immaculate when we got back: tidy, organized, and everything just as we’d left it. She also watered the plants and took care of feeding our other animals, so we came home to a household that had clearly been in very capable hands. Phoebe is reliable, thoughtful, and genuinely trustworthy, the kind of sitter you can leave in charge and not think twice about. We wouldn’t hesitate to have her back, and we recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone looking for someone to care for their pets.”

“Martina is our new angel! She was amazing from before her dates even started and only continued to amaze there after! Martina came out and walked with the dogs before the start date so that they felt more comfortable when we left. She actually came over at 2:30am when we left so they’d be less stressed as wee left, even though I assured her it wasn’t necessary. She went above and beyond in every interaction she had with the dogs and us. Martina provided comprehensive updates everyday, which is was very reassuring for us whilst we were away. She even noticed medical requirements that arose on one of my dogs and after consulting me, started to provide care according to my wishes. Even kept the house clean when we said she didn’t need to. Cannot recommend enough, one of the most conscientious dog carers we have ever used and I’ll definitely be leaning on her for dog walks and boardin in the future as the dogs clearly love her. Many thanks Martina”

About: I’ve been around dogs and small animals my whole life. Growing up, our family had a Springer Spaniel named Buster (from my birth until I was about 5), a Black Labrador Retriever named Roly (until my teenage years), and a Beagle named Millie. In my twenties I helped care for three dogs full-time with a former partner — two Golden Retrievers (Shadow and Luna) and a Newfoundland (Koda) — plus three rats for three years. I’m passionate about all animals and nature, and I love spending time with pets — giving them walks, playtime, feeding, and the individual attention they deserve. I’m experienced with different breeds, sizes, and energy levels, and I’m always eager to learn more about each pet’s unique needs. I work a 4 days on / 4 days off shift pattern (6am–6pm). On my off days I’m generally fully available, though I’ll update my calendar for any specific busy times. On work days I can accept walks and drop-ins from 7pm, but nothing after 9:30pm as I need to sleep by 10pm for my early shift. I’m flexible for evenings and weekends when possible and always communicate clearly. I provide care in the pet owner’s home only. I’m very attentive and follow all instructions carefully regarding feeding, walks, playtime, and any medications. I’m experienced with different breeds and always prioritise the pet’s comfort, safety, and routine. I can give regular toilet breaks and plenty of attention during my visits.
“So SO happy that we found this wonderful couple. Trixie has a fantastic time and is treated like one of the family. We couldn’t be happier. Please don’t ever give up doing this. Thank you xx”

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life and can’t imagine a home without them! I studied Animal Management and I’m passionate about providing safe and loving care for every dog in my care. I also have a 5 year old Labrador who keeps me active daily! Because I work from home with a flexible schedule, pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I’m able to give dogs plenty of attention throughout the day, whether that’s regular walks, playtime breaks, or just being there to keep them company. My flexibility also means I can adjust to your pet’s specific needs and routines, making sure they feel comfortable and cared for at all times. My home is a happy, safe space for pets, complete with a fenced garden for running, playing, and exploring. I love spending time on walks and understand the importance of dogs having a safe space along with following their routines. I’m more than happy to accommodate to meet your dogs needs.

“Luke came to meet us and our dogs Bear and Aura before our agreed date. He kept in contact with us and was punctual and polite. Made us feel at ease knowing he was there and although for a short stay the dogs were looked after. I would recommend Luke as Bear is a fussy dog but accepted Luke which is a thumbs up. Would use again in the future.”

About: Hi! I’m a caring and responsible dog lover who has been a dedicated dog owner since April 2020. Although I don’t have formal pet sitting experience, I have hands-on experience caring for my own dogs every day — including raising a few newborn puppies. This has made me especially patient, gentle, and attentive to dogs’ needs at every stage of life. I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pet. I will treat your dog like my own family member, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved at all times. Pet care is already part of my daily life as a dog owner, so I easily incorporate it into my routine. I am available after 4:30pm on weekdays and all day on weekends. I also work from home one day between Tuesday and Thursday, which means I can offer daytime care and keep your dog company instead of leaving them alone. I have a flexible schedule during these times and can provide reliable, attentive care, ensuring your pet receives plenty of companionship, supervision, and love. I specialise in caring for pets in their own home, where they feel most comfortable and secure. By keeping your pet in a familiar environment, I help reduce stress and maintain their normal routine. I carefully follow all instructions, stay attentive to their behaviour, and make sure they feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for at all times. This approach is especially beneficial for dogs who are anxious, shy, or simply prefer staying in their own space. I’m also happy to provide regular photo and video updates for your peace of mind.

About: I grew up around dogs and have extensive experience caring for them. I regularly look after dogs for family members when they're away on holiday, so I'm comfortable with different breeds, personalities, and routines. As I work from home three days a week, I have the flexibility to check in on your pup throughout the day, whether they need care, company, or a walk in the morning, afternoon, or evening. Being a dog owner myself, I understand the love, attention, and care our dogs deserve. I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs, and it would be a pleasure to care for your pup while giving you peace of mind that they're in safe and caring hands.

About: I have always looked after animals since a young age. I have a family Springador who is now 9 years old and a 2 year old Cockapoo who is also a family dog (but do not live with me). I miss going on more regular dog walks so I am looking forward to meeting lots of new fur-friends! I love being outdoors and regularly go on walks - so why not exercise the dogs at the same time! I work from home so I enjoy getting out and about during the week and at weekends. I work from home 4 days a week and regularly go on walks either in the morning, at lunch or in the evening (depending on the weather). I am also around at weekends. I have a secure grass garden and hard floors downstairs. There is also space for a crate or dog bed and the house can be made dog-friendly when required.
“Chelsea took great care of our puppy Maui. Professional and prompt communication, Chelsea reassured us and kept us updated whilst we were away for the day. Maui was very happy to be left with Chelsea and very relaxed and happy upon our arrival.”
“Luke is really good with dogs, he knows what they need, what they like. Cooper is big blind boy but we knew that we can go on holiday with clear mind. He also cared about our garden which we highly appreciate. Cooper absolutely love Luke! He is missing him already. We can recommend Luke if anyone needs help with dog!”

“After an initial meet & greet with my dogs, Zoe was able to help on fairly short notice. The dogs were happy and walked when it was cool enough, and the house was well kept - very happy to have had Zoe, and will be looking to use her again.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Daventry choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
