We cannot recommend Lisa highly enough! We were initially very anxious about leaving Luna in someone else’s care after a previous bad experience at a dog kennel. Luna is a sensitive Vizsla—she can be nervous around other dogs, cautious around men, and isn’t comfortable around children—so finding the right sitter was incredibly important to us. We travelled 70 miles to make this work. From the start, Lisa was brilliant at building trust and forming a relationship with Luna. We were especially impressed that although Luna can be unsure around men, Lisa’s partner took the time to patiently build a bond with her, which made a huge difference. One of the things that really stood out to us was that Lisa only cares for one dog at a time. This gave us real peace of mind, as we had seen other sitters taking multiple dogs at once, which wouldn’t have suited Luna. While we were away, Lisa kept us regularly updated with photos and videos. This meant so much to us, especially as it was the first time we’d been apart from Luna for such a long time. The updates truly reflected Luna’s personality, and it was clear she felt comfortable, relaxed, and happy. Luna was exercised brilliantly, with plenty of great walks—perfect for such a high-energy dog. Lisa also maintained Luna’s usual routine, which really reassured us and helped ensure a smooth transition back home with no disruption. When we collected Luna, it was obvious how happy and settled she had been. She was relaxed, affectionate, and clearly had formed a strong bond with both Lisa and her partner. We would 100% recommend Lisa to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and attentive dog sitter. You will not regret it—and we will definitely be leaving Luna with her again in the future!

About: I have always had contact with dogs, cats and hamsters ...as a child and as a dog owner for 12 years, previously my family over the years owned Yorkies, Poodles,West Highland Terriers, Germany shepherds. Charlie My Cavashon passed away at the age of 12 years, unexpectedly, his doggy companion Tea Cup Yorkie Daisy misses him desperately, she is 14 years. Charlie was a well behaved dog well traveled too and would go everywhere with me and my partner as does Daisy. Charlie was raised from a puppy and attended training classes, he was devoted to me as I was to him. If a cafe, restaurant, garden centre isn't dog friendly we wouldn't visit. I currently work part time and do some volunteering at the dog trust. I have the time to walk your dog, and if they are good travellers in the car I would take your dog on some lovely walks. My home is their home I have a large fenced safe garden lots of grass, there is a furbaby female teacup yorkie who is 14 years. she would love some company. I don't have a crate.

Mark and Helen looked after Simba as if he were their own dog. We were so happy knowing Simba was being so cared for in every way while we were on holiday. We can't recommend them high enough, we met with Mark and Helen before Simba's stay any worries we had about taking him to stay there were gone completely after chatting with them. Simba's a 10 year old dog set in his ways everything was accommodated with smiles and like it was completely normal. Anyone leaving their dog with Mark and Helen will be as happy as we were. They were fantastic thankyou so much to you both, such a lovely couple xxx

Kelly was a brilliant dog sitter, despite our concerns about leaving Shadow our active collie in kennels for the first time, Kelly quickly settled her in with some ball throwing around her extensive garden. She sent messages and photographs to re assure us that Shadow was happy and well cared for and gave her a lovely walk. Shadow was clearly treated like one of the family and we will certainly be asking Kelly to look after her again.

About: Hi, I’m Sonya—a lifelong dog lover offering a genuine home-from-home experience in the beautiful Forest of Dean. My home has direct access to the forest from the garden gate, along with plenty of secure outdoor space, giving dogs the opportunity to explore, sniff, play, and relax in a safe, natural environment. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities, and I’m confident handling both small breeds and larger, more energetic dogs. Every dog is treated as an individual, and I always adapt their care to suit their routine, personality, and needs. Whether it’s feeding schedules, medication, favourite walking routes, or quiet time, I’ll do my best to keep their stay as familiar and stress-free as possible. Dogs staying with me become part of the family rather than staying in a kennel environment. They receive plenty of companionship, enrichment, exercise, and opportunities to rest, all in a calm, structured home where their wellbeing always comes first. From September, I’ll be studying for a degree in Animal Behaviour & Training, building on my passion for understanding canine behaviour, welfare, and positive training methods. I’m committed to continually developing my knowledge so I can provide the very best care for every dog I look after. I know how difficult it can be to leave your dog with someone else, so I’ll keep you updated with regular photos, videos, and messages, giving you complete peace of mind while you’re away. I’m fortunate to be at home full-time, which means dogs in my care receive plenty of attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. I live in a peaceful rural location with secure outdoor space where dogs can safely explore, play, and relax. Every day is built around the dogs’ needs, including walks, enrichment, feeding, rest, play, and one-to-one attention. I’m also happy to follow your dog’s usual routine as closely as possible, helping them feel settled, comfortable, and at home while you’re away. Your dog’s safety, wellbeing, and happiness are always my highest priorities. Dogs stay in a calm, structured home alongside my own friendly, well-socialised dogs, where they receive plenty of companionship while still having space to relax if they need it. I supervise all interactions carefully and separate dogs whenever appropriate, such as during mealtimes, rest periods, or if a dog simply needs some quiet time. Owners are very welcome to bring their dog’s own bed, crate, blankets, or favourite toys to help them settle into a familiar routine. My home is surrounded by secure rural land, giving dogs plenty of opportunities for safe outdoor exercise, enrichment, sniffing, and exploration. Every dog is treated as an individual, and I’ll always follow any instructions regarding feeding, medication, exercise, training, or preferences to ensure they receive the highest standard of care.

About: After begging my whole life, I finally was allowed to get my own dog back in 2021. I got Ivy (my dog) as a puppy and completed all her training by myself. I think I’d read just about every dog training and behaviour book on the market so I could give Ivy the best environment possible. While I got very lucky with Ivy’s temperament, I have been a sitter for reactive dogs before. One dog in particular whom I have walked on occasion (but mostly did home visits) was very reactive and anti-social. I did meetings with the owner present to ensure the dog was comfortable with me before completing home visits alone. While on walks, it was imperative to keep this dog away from all other dogs, especially off-leash ones. I picked routes that ensured encountering minimal other people, and when we did come across other dog walkers I simply moved a fair distance off the path and held Frankie’s (the dog) attention using treats and positive reinforcement. By ensuring she kept her focus on me until the people had passed, it kept her reactivity to a minimum. Her reactivity was triggered by fear and anxiety, so avoidance of such situations meant that she was comfortable and therefore a pleasure to walk. I have experience sitting/walking dogs of all ages (including puppies and seniors) and feel comfortable with all breeds/sizes. I’m currently a university student, and with summer coming up I will have plenty of free time! I recognise the importance of reliability within pet-care and can promise to communicate my availability in advance. I have a fenced garden and space for a crate if necessary (however you would have to provide this equipment). Apart from larger equipment (like a crate/car cage, etc.) I can provide most things myself, such as food and water bowls, toys, treats, leash, etc. However these are mostly there as a ‘just in case’ option, as it is always better to use equipment your pet is already familiar with to avoid any discomfort or stress.

About: Hi, my name is Alix. I am 24 years old and live in a ground floor flat in matson, Gloucester. I have 2 children, 3&5 years old. I also have 4 cats who have been the first encounter for many dogs which I am happy to do with the owner here if your dog hasn’t been around cats before. I also understand that sometimes dogs and cats aren’t the best of friends so I’m happy to keep them separate if needed. I unfortunately don’t currently drive so you would need to bring your pooch to me. Caring for dogs is a passion for me. I took a break from dog boarding for a while but now on the hunt to make more doggy friends and help out owners! I have been dog boarding for 3 years now and cared for dogs of all ages. My children are used to dogs & my partner has 2 Staffordshire bull terriers at his mum’s who my children see regularly. I also have a jack russel and a jug at my mum’s who I absolutely adore and grew up with. I have my own fenced garden and will definitely take your pooch on walks at our local field! Please get in touch if you’re interested. :).. I’m currently unemployed so always at home. Monday & friday I do school pick up and drop off, however if your dog isn’t very good with being alone I can bring them along or I can find someone else to take my daughter to school on the odd occasion if need be of the 2 days I usually do and I will stay home to ensure your dog isn’t left alone. As long as i have notice i can ensure we’re home all day if need be for your dogs anxiety I am in a ground floor flat, I have my own fenced garden and a field nearby which dogs absolutely love to go and have a run around. I keep dogs on lead for safety. Dogs will be welcome to come on the furniture and sleep in the bed unless the owner requests otherwise.

About: From belly rubs to long walks, your pup gets all the love and care they deserve while you’re away. Living in the countryside with river walks and fields on my doorstep, this allows for easy access for your pups to get the fresh air and exercise they need whether on a lead or free! I also have an enclosed back garden so they can come and go inside/outdoor - as they prefer. I work from home so can be with them throughout the day and won't be left alone for long periods. I work from home so will be with your lovely furballs throughout the day and can be taken out as as when required. I do not have young children. I do not have any other animals loving here currently (as I also travel fairly regularly) but I have lots of visitors! I have an enclosed garden and a very friendly, clean and modern home where dogs and cats are allowed on the furniture and make themselves settled and at home

About: I have hands on experience caring for a range of pets. I currently have two pups, an energetic, young (and very greedy) chocolate lab called pickle and my polite senior shih tzu called chops, who I have cared for since they were puppies. My family and friends always rely on me to look after their pets as I always jump at the offer! I treat my animals as if they were part of the family, with love and compassion. I also have experience looking after cats, bunnies and chickens ❤️ I am currently studying my masters in landscape architecture at the university of glos - but this is something I mostly do from home so I have lots of free time to look after pets too. You will be staying with my two fur babies: pickle and chops, who are very friendly and great with other dogs - both quite submissive in nature and will give you space if you need it. I have a large secure fenced garden next to the beautiful forest where we go for daily long walks. Chops is a senior boy so a walk around our land is even enough for him most of the time. I live with my parents who work 9-5 but are also dog lovers and can help me out on weekends/days off. I enjoy walking with the dogs but equally enjoy a chilled out snuggle on the sofa!

About: I previously had a husky for ten years who had no recall and was reactive, so I’m used to walking dogs on leads and hiding behind trees if needed! 🙈since I lost my husky last year I’ve looked after friends and family dogs at weekends which have ranged from spaniels to labs to Hungarian vizla. I love having a dog in the house and like to make sure they feel at home and give them lots of attention and walks. I currently work full time in the week so can only offer weekend stays. When I’m home at the weekend there’s nothing more I enjoy then going on dog walks. About: I have been taking care of other peoples pets since I was 15, when I started to walk a neighbours dog, soon other neighbours asked for help with dogs, cats, rabbits and also puppy pop ins and dog sitting. Then 19 years ago I became a dog owner myself. I work from home so I began to look after friends, family and neighbours dogs. I absolutely love dogs, I treat every dog like they’re my own, even if I’ve just met them for five minutes… I am giving kisses. (only if they want them of course) I have a senior dog myself and I looked after a senior dog for a few years so I have experience in older dog care, also having raised three puppies myself so I have knowledge in puppy care. I can promise lots of love, safety, trust and of course kisses. After I walk my dogs at 6.30am… My days are for furry friends either on dog walks, pop ins and house sitting. I have a couple of regular friends but still plenty of space for new friends ☺️ I’m currently not offering boarding due to my sweet girl (elderly lady) dealing with dementia, I need her environment to be calm. House Sitting… I was a babysitter for 10 years for 5 different families, I did some over night stays during that time. I also cleaned at a couple of private houses for 2 years whilst I was studying and I have experience of being a house-sitter.. therefore I am very aware of respectful behaviour when in someone else’s house. I will not share your location or any information regarding your home with anyone. I will keep things clean and tidy up after myself. I don’t smoke or drink. I always take my shoes off. ☺️

About: Hi, I’m Georgia. I've been animal-obsessed ever since I can remember. Since my Nan & Pop's labradors that sparked it all, I've looked after animals of all shapes and sizes. From my flock of runner ducks, three cats, to living on a farm with horses, goats and cows. In the last two years I've regularly cared for two senior dogs. Walking, exercising, bathing, grooming, playing and of course cuddling. Dogs > humans all day! I've got three cats of my own, all rescues; one moggie and two bengals. I love hanging out with them, playing, and setting up enrichment activities for them to explore. I treat every animal as my own, their safety and experience being my top priority. Whether your pup(s) love a lazy day on the sofa, long walks through the forest, a playdate in a secure dog field or a high energy brain stimulating training session, I've got you covered. Need your chickens checked whilst you're away? No problem. Looking after new feline friends, litter box cleaning, feeding and playtime whilst you're holidaying? Just let me know. Why choose me? ✨ Young professional seeking companionship and new friends, who doesn’t have their own dog due to shift work ✨ I’m reliable and a good communicator; youll be confident pups will be in safe hands whilst you are away. Don’t worry you’ll get (maybe too many) photos of our adventures. ✨ DBS checked and references provided on request ✨ Your pup will come home exhausted and happy, most of all clean! Your home will be exactly as you left it I work two days a week (shift work), therefore, my availability will change from week to week. Outside of those times, I can be completely flexible for you and your pets. In your home and whilst out on walks, I will ensure your pup(s) safety at all times. I'm happy crating, using slip/clip/halti leads or anything else that is part of your current routine for your dog. Exclusively indoor cats? I can ensure your feline friend stays safe at home.

About: Background Having grown up with pets throughout my life, including dogs, cats, and small animals, I am a passionate and experienced animal lover. I previously worked as a pet sitter through a platform in Australia called Pawshake, where I cared for dogs of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments. This experience helped me become confident handling pets with a wide range of needs and personalities. About My Services I am available for dog sitting in your home for both short and long stays, including feeding, walking, playtime, and companionship to help keep your pet comfortable and happy while you are away. I offer dog walks seven days a week, including weekends, and I am flexible with timings, including later evening walks if needed. As a passionate runner, I am also happy to offer both short and long runs for energetic dogs, depending on their fitness level and needs. Walks and runs can range from 30 minutes to over an hour based on your pet’s routine and preferences. Additionally, I am comfortable administering oral and ear medications if required. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions, I would love to meet you and your pets! I have recently moved home for a period of time, so my availability for petsitting is full-time. I can dedicate all day to walking, playing and spending time with pets as needed. Following the owner’s guidance, I prioritise the safety and well-being of every pet in my care. I have experience working with anxious dogs and take all necessary precautions to ensure they feel calm, secure, and comfortable at all times. Where a dog is sensitive to busy or stressful environments, I choose quieter routes and off-peak times for walks to ensure they remain comfortable and relaxed.

About: I jave now been a professional pet sitter for just over 5 years although i have been looking after animals my whole life personally, life just wouldnt be the same wothoit them. This is my full time job and so I wont need to be out in the day and only home at night. I can cate for your animals full time. Your animals are your whole world I am very aware of this and deserve the very best. My background before pet sitting was a NHS nurse for 12 years and did 4 years in the Royal Air Force so I was trained to pay attention to every detail. I can transfer alot of my nursing skills to the animals so I have trained in animal first aid/cpr and have previously saved a dog from chocking. I have no problems giving medications, taking the animal to the vets or dressing wounds. I can deal with all size of animal small or large I'm small but mighty 😄 🤣. I will keep to all your schedules and will only offer the best care. I will send updates and photos daily unless the client asks me not to. My only requirement is that clients are honest about thier dogs behaviour or any issues so I can take all proper precautions. As well as rover cover i also have my own public liability insurance. I absolutely love animals and will give them my all to make sure they are happy and healthy 😊 This is my full time job so I can be in the house with your pet for most of the day. Reach out if your stuck last minute I send regular updates with written communication and pictures. I am very conscious of satfey of the animal so I always make sure I leave the house secure.

Kristen was absolutely brilliant with Bilbo She welcomed a meet and greet session and made sure Bilbo was comfortable with her pets. I instantly felt comfortable in leaving our four legged family member in her care. She kept me updated with pics and how he settled on the first night. I would strongly recommend Kristen and would be looking to re book in the future.

About: I had a rescue labrador for 10 years and am now keen to help look after other doggos. I have worked in animal rescue centres and been trained on doggie first aid. I'm very calm and gentle with animals, and will be a responsible care giver for your beloved canine. I work from home half-days on Fridays with flexible hours, and am generally free on weekends. I'm very flexible around timing and happy to work around your pet's needs. We have a fenced-in garden and live on a quiet street just off the canal path and near several great fields and walks. Can provide dog beds and are flexible on whether dogs are allowed on furniture.

George and his mum took great care of shadow again. He is a 14.5 year old black lab who craves company in his old age and wants to be around people constantly. George and his mum totally saw this and shadow had a great holiday with them whilst we were away. We will always send shadow to stay with them as a first choice. Thanks again

We would have given Joyce 6 stars if we could :-) From our first contact through Rover.com Joyce has been very helpful, even providing coaching on how best to use the site. Our boys are 6 years old and this was the first time they have stayed with away form home. Joyce was brilliant with the boys and us. Joyce's communications before and during the visit we excellent and the boys were very well looked after by Joyce and her lovely family in their beautiful home. I cannot rate Joyce highly enough and would fully recommend Joyce to anyone seeking a caring environment for their cherished pets.

Max and family took excellent care of our dog and kept us updated on all their adventures. They are clearly very fond of dogs and very knowledgeable about them. It was so reassuring to leave our dog in the care of a loving, fun family and to know that she was going to have a fantastic time.
