“We cannot recommend Lisa highly enough! We were initially very anxious about leaving Luna in someone else’s care after a previous bad experience at a dog kennel. Luna is a sensitive Vizsla—she can be nervous around other dogs, cautious around men, and isn’t comfortable around children—so finding the right sitter was incredibly important to us. We travelled 70 miles to make this work. From the start, Lisa was brilliant at building trust and forming a relationship with Luna. We were especially impressed that although Luna can be unsure around men, Lisa’s partner took the time to patiently build a bond with her, which made a huge difference. One of the things that really stood out to us was that Lisa only cares for one dog at a time. This gave us real peace of mind, as we had seen other sitters taking multiple dogs at once, which wouldn’t have suited Luna. While we were away, Lisa kept us regularly updated with photos and videos. This meant so much to us, especially as it was the first time we’d been apart from Luna for such a long time. The updates truly reflected Luna’s personality, and it was clear she felt comfortable, relaxed, and happy. Luna was exercised brilliantly, with plenty of great walks—perfect for such a high-energy dog. Lisa also maintained Luna’s usual routine, which really reassured us and helped ensure a smooth transition back home with no disruption. When we collected Luna, it was obvious how happy and settled she had been. She was relaxed, affectionate, and clearly had formed a strong bond with both Lisa and her partner. About: I have always had contact with dogs, cats and hamsters ...as a child and as a dog owner for 12 years, previously my family over the years owned Yorkies, Poodles,West Highland Terriers, Germany shepherds. Charlie My Cavashon passed away at the age of 12 years, unexpectedly, his doggy companion Tea Cup Yorkie Daisy misses him desperately, she is 14 years. Charlie was a well behaved dog well traveled too and would go everywhere with me and my partner as does Daisy. Charlie was raised from a puppy and attended training classes, he was devoted to me as I was to him. If a cafe, restaurant,garden centre isn't dog friendly we wouldn't visit. I currently work part time and do some volunteering at the dog trust. I have the time to walk your dog, and if they are good travellers in the car I would take your dog on some lovely walks. My home is their home I have a large fenced safe garden lots of grass, there is a furbaby female teacup yorkie who is 14 years. she would love some company. I don't have a crate.

“Mark and Helen looked after Simba as if he were their own dog. We were so happy knowing Simba was being so cared for in every way while we were on holiday. We can't recommend them high enough, we met with Mark and Helen before Simba's stay any worries we had about taking him to stay there were gone completely after chatting with them. Simba's a 10 year old dog set in his ways everything was accommodated with smiles and like it was completely normal. Anyone leaving their dog with Mark and Helen will be as happy as we were. About: I have looked after various dogs when their owners have gone on holiday. I have a lot of experience dog sitting and want to do more of this in my spare time. I am unavailable Tuesdays and Thursdays with voluntary work but other than that I have a lot of spare time to dedicate to looking after dogs. About: After begging my whole life, I finally was allowed to get my own dog back in 2021. I got Ivy (my dog) as a puppy and completed all her training by myself. I think I’d read just about every dog training and behaviour book on the market so I could give Ivy the best environment possible. While I got very lucky with Ivy’s temperament, I have been a sitter for reactive dogs before. One dog in particular whom I have walked on occasion (but mostly did home visits) was very reactive and anti-social. I did meetings with the owner present to ensure the dog was comfortable with me before completing home visits alone. While on walks, it was imperative to keep this dog away from all other dogs, especially off-leash ones. I picked routes that ensured encountering minimal other people, and when we did come across other dog walkers I simply moved a fair distance off the path and held Frankie’s (the dog) attention using treats and positive reinforcement. By ensuring she kept her focus on me until the people had passed, it kept her reactivity to a minimum. Her reactivity was triggered by fear and anxiety, so avoidance of such situations meant that she was comfortable and therefore a pleasure to walk. I have experience sitting/walking dogs of all ages (including puppies and seniors) and feel comfortable with all breeds/sizes. I’m currently a university student, and with summer coming up I will have plenty of free time! I recognise the importance of reliability within pet-care and can promise to communicate my availability in advance. I have a fenced garden and space for a crate if necessary (however you would have to provide this equipment). Apart from larger equipment (like a crate/car cage, etc.) I can provide most things myself, such as food and water bowls, toys, treats, leash, etc. However these are mostly there as a ‘just in case’ option, as it is always better to use equipment your pet is already familiar with to avoid any discomfort or stress.

About: Hi, my name is Alix. I am 24 years old and live in a ground floor flat in matson, Gloucester. I have 2 children, 3&5 years old. I also have 4 cats who have been the first encounter for many dogs which I am happy to do with the owner here if your dog hasn’t been around cats before. I also understand that sometimes dogs and cats aren’t the best of friends so I’m happy to keep them separate if needed. I unfortunately don’t currently drive so you would need to bring your pooch to me. Caring for dogs is a passion for me. I took a break from dog boarding for a while but now on the hunt to make more doggy friends and help out owners! I have been dog boarding for 3 years now and cared for dogs of all ages. My children are used to dogs & my partner has 2 Staffordshire bull terriers at his mum’s who my children see regularly. I also have a jack russel and a jug at my mum’s who I absolutely adore and grew up with. I have my own fenced garden and will definitely take your pooch on walks at our local field! I currently have two pups, an energetic, young (and very greedy) chocolate lab called pickle and my polite senior shih tzu called chops, who I have cared for since they were puppies. My family and friends always rely on me to look after their pets as I always jump at the offer! I treat my animals as if they were part of the family, with love and compassion. I also have experience looking after cats, bunnies and chickens ❤️ I am currently studying my masters in landscape architecture at the university of glos - but this is something I mostly do from home so I have lots of free time to look after pets too. You will be staying with my two fur babies: pickle and chops, who are very friendly and great with other dogs - both quite submissive in nature and will give you space if you need it. I have a large secure fenced garden next to the beautiful forest where we go for daily long walks. Chops is a senior boy so a walk around our land is even enough for him most of the time. I live with my parents who work 9-5 but are also dog lovers and can help me out on weekends/days off. I enjoy walking with the dogs but equally enjoy a chilled out snuggle on the sofa!

About: I have been around dogs since I was 7 when we got our first dog (a staff cross German shepherd) and continued to be around them throughout college and university where I studied animal management. About: I previously had a husky for ten years who had no recall and was reactive, so I’m used to walking dogs on leads and hiding behind trees if needed! 🙈since I lost my husky last year I’ve looked after friends and family dogs at weekends which have ranged from spaniels to labs to Hungarian vizla. I love having a dog in the house and like to make sure they feel at home and give them lots of attention and walks. I currently work full time in the week so can only offer weekend stays. About: After begging my whole life, I finally was allowed to get my own dog back in 2021. I got Ivy (my dog) as a puppy and completed all her training by myself. I think I’d read just about every dog training and behaviour book on the market so I could give Ivy the best environment possible. While I got very lucky with Ivy’s temperament, I have been a sitter for reactive dogs before. One dog in particular whom I have walked on occasion (but mostly did home visits) was very reactive and anti-social. I did meetings with the owner present to ensure the dog was comfortable with me before completing home visits alone. While on walks, it was imperative to keep this dog away from all other dogs, especially off-leash ones. I picked routes that ensured encountering minimal other people, and when we did come across other dog walkers I simply moved a fair distance off the path and held Frankie’s (the dog) attention using treats and positive reinforcement. By ensuring she kept her focus on me until the people had passed, it kept her reactivity to a minimum. Her reactivity was triggered by fear and anxiety, so avoidance of such situations meant that she was comfortable and therefore a pleasure to walk. I have experience sitting/walking dogs of all ages (including puppies and seniors) and feel comfortable with all breeds/sizes. I’m currently a university student, and with summer coming up I will have plenty of free time! I recognise the importance of reliability within pet-care and can promise to communicate my availability in advance. I have a fenced garden and space for a crate if necessary (however you would have to provide this equipment). Apart from larger equipment (like a crate/car cage, etc.) I can provide most things myself, such as food and water bowls, toys, treats, leash, etc. However these are mostly there as a ‘just in case’ option, as it is always better to use equipment your pet is already familiar with to avoid any discomfort or stress.

Luna is a sensitive Vizsla—she can be nervous around other dogs, cautious around men, and isn’t comfortable around children—so finding the right sitter was incredibly important to us. We travelled 70 miles to make this work. From the start, Lisa was brilliant at building trust and forming a relationship with Luna. We were especially impressed that although Luna can be unsure around men, Lisa’s partner took the time to patiently build a bond with her, which made a huge difference. One of the things that really stood out to us was that Lisa only cares for one dog at a time. About: I have looked after various dogs when their owners have gone on holiday. I have a lot of experience dog sitting and want to do more of this in my spare time. I am unavailable Tuesdays and Thursdays with voluntary work but other than that I have a lot of spare time to dedicate to looking after dogs.
