“Savanna was great, helped me out last minute and took such great care of my cat while I was away, took the time to feed, fuss and play with him. Great communication, regular updates and always a picture or two to show me what he was up to. Would definitely book again!”

“Sammy was amazing, she booked us in at short notice as our previous sitter was unwell. She met our dog before and discussed what we needed. She also agreed to let my son’s dog out at the same time. She was very prompt and sent photos of the dogs happily playing. We would defiantly contact sammy again if we need someone.”
“We had a very last minute need for some help and Ro was more than happy to assist! She communicated amazingly, sent pictures, did everything we asked and asked questions if she didn't know. She has done brilliantly and we will definitely keep her in mind when we need help again.”

About: Hey, Im Issy, a Christchurch local. I’ve grown up having many pets - dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs ⭐️ Being around animals has always felt natural to me. A few years ago, we adopted Suki, a rescue Sharpei/Staffie (lives with my mum). She’s a strong, energetic girl who requires longer walks and a solid routine. Clear communication is really important to me. I’ll always respect your instructions on training or routines, and I’ll always keep you updated with photos and little check-ins. I’m familiar with secure walking spots around Christchurch, Bournemouth and the New Forest. I live by the beach and spend a lot of time outdoors and would to share that with your pet. I have quite a flexible work set up. I work from home most days. I can work from cafes, community spaces or anywhere with steady secure internet! I do occasionally have to move about for work but am usually not out longer than few hrs. If I were caring for pets in your home, i would like to understand all of your pets needs aswell as house instructions/ safety requirements. Your pet will be treated as if it were my own, I’d do my best to keep to its routine to avoid any upset and provide a calm environment with lots of attention and cuddles!
About: I have had pets all my life. My most recent dog was a German Shepherd who we had since he was a puppy. I am familiar with administering medication. As a family we really enjoy showering love on all animals. We are a very active family always going on walks and adventures and love the companionship of a furry friend. I work from home, I very regularly give dogs a cuddle and letting them out into the garden for a toilet break. I often take them out at lunchtime for walks either at Hengistbury Head or at the beach which is on our doorstep. Once the family return from school/work they are more than enough cuddles available for pets!! My daughter is aged eight and my son is aged 11 and they are very familiar and considerate when interacting with animals. I have a good sized fenced garden. Where the dogs are perfectly safe to run around. We are experienced in crate trained dogs, and feeding range of food from Raw to kibble.

“Lovely to meet Carys and Harrison before we went away. They asked everything they needed to know and set up a way to communicate while we were away. We received updates every evening and it was clear that they genuinely liked looking after the cats.”

About: I grew up with a loving English Bull Terrier who was truly part of the family. He set the bar for how fun, gentle and full of personality dogs can be -also helping with family friends conquering their fears of dogs and we still laugh about his antics today. In recent years l've looked after friends' and family's dogs while they've been away, making sure they're fed, walked, played with and properly cared for. I absolutely love going on long walks, so having a four-legged pal to join me is always a joy. I'm a naturally caring person and I'll make sure your dog feels safe, happy and like they're having their own little holiday too. Im in full time employment split up over the week however, my hours are very flexible during varying Monday - Friday just get in touch and we can find a time that works perfectly. I'm really careful and attentive when it comes to pets. I always want them to feel safe, comfortable, and settled. I follow whatever routine you already have in place, keep an eye on things, and make sure the environment is calm and secure - doors checked, no hazards around and plenty of time spent making sure they're happy - treating them with the same care and patience I'd give my own.
About: I've been doing house sitting, primarily with dogs but also with cats, chickens, sheep, ponies and even a parrot on another platform for nearly 3 years and have built up a strong 5* profile there. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to show any of that here so I'm shamefully undercutting everyone else until someone let's me prove the value that many other pet owners already know :) In terms of what might set me out from all the other amazing house sitters I keep hearing about, I guess it would have to be technology so if you want a digital dog diary or a live webcam feed so you can check in, I'm your guy. I've also worked with dogs on improving their walking on lead skills, waiting for food and basic commands. I will also happily water plants, rake leaves, mow lawns or any other general upkeep you would like doing. I enjoy the company of dogs, that's why I got into this originally but I'm also trying to build up an outdoor adventure business to help get kids to go explore the outdoors so if you select me, you'll also be supporting that business and for that, I am eternally grateful! :) When I'm not doing creating outdoor adventures, I do geeky things involving a laptop so as I set my own schedule, I'll be available for all your doggies needs as and when they arise. It can be upsetting enough for dogs when their owners are away so I just try to keep things as familiar as possible with the added benefit of extra company on tap. Dogs sense temperament in people and I'm pretty chilled so they tend to feel comfortable around me quite quickly.
“Debbie is a wonderfully dog sitters. She always double checks my doggy is sorted before leaving. She even took my washing in! Ha.. My dog loves her visit and I don't think you could ask for a bigger dog lover who would care for your dog. Thoroughly recommended ?”

About: My passion for dogs started when I was growing up around dogs of all kinds. Over the years, caring for pets has become second nature to me. It is something I truly enjoy. Today, I provide trusted care for the pets of busy owners, making sure every dog gets the attention, exercise, and love they deserve. I am available most times of the day. Morning walks, lunch time walk or evening walks. I will always try work out a suitable time that fits us both. Whether it’s dog walks, cat visits, feeding, litter changes, or simple home routines, I can be flexible. House sitting is also no problem, and I’m happy to keep your pet’s schedule consistent and stress free while you’re away. I am great at walking dogs for as long as required. We will play their favourite game too. From big to small dogs I know how to handle them. If your dog is very energetic then we can even go on a jog. For cats, I keep their space clean, follow their feeding and litter routines. It is important to give them a calm and gentle environment.

“The most lovely holiday mum to my little Bart! I came home to a very happy and looked after little chat! Christine went above and beyond, and truly looked after him like he was her own! Thank you so much for your help, and I will definitely be rebooking when I go on my next trip!”

“From the moment we contacted Klaudia to look after our kitten she was accommodating to our dates and times around the Christmas holidays. We had left it last minute, so it was a huge relief, especially as it's our first pet and it was a new situation for us. Klaudia kindly came to visit before the first booking to meet Earl, and I could immediately tell she was kind hearted and cared about animals. Klaudia went above and beyond for us and we will contact her every time we are away, don't hesitate to book her to look after your furry family!”

About: Hello everyone, originally from Prague, I started walking my neighbours dog at age 7. Then age 12 I finally got my own dog and he was amazing of course 🐶 Moved to UK in my twenties and career and London lifestyle left me years without a pet. Three years ago I moved to lovely Dorset and started discovering New forest through the dogs eyes. We are living by the beach which was my dream so doggies staying with us have plenty of walks and waves 🌊🌲🐕 I work part time as a support worker so I am flexible and availlable 🙏 Also my partner works from home, so we dont leave a dog alone 🐶 We often take the car and explore new areas and walks..... 🐶🌲🌊 Building the trust and respect one walk at the time. Love to play but rules are to be followed, especially in overnight stays 🤭🐶🛏 Owning a big apartment with 1 min to year around dog friendly beach 🌊 Also doggy park 4 mins walk and always happy to drive for new friends 🐾

About: Hi, I'm Bella! I'm a genuine animal lover and offer a safe, loving home where your dog will be treated like part of the family. I work from home, so your dog will have plenty of company throughout the day and won't be left alone for long periods. We have a friendly 5 year old small dog called Henry who loves having canine friends to play with, and three kind, dog loving children aged 9 and above who have grown up around animals and understand the importance of being gentle and respectful. I know how difficult it can be to leave your pet, so I'll make sure you receive regular photo updates and messages to give you complete peace of mind. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playing in the garden, or simply curling up for cuddles, I'll do my best to keep them happy, comfortable and following their usual routine. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member and giving them a home from home experience while you're away. I work as a beautician from my home, in our converted garage. So I am around all the time and in and out of the house, I can follow your dogs routine, to keep them comfortable and safe. We have a lovely friendly Chorkie, called Henry, who will keep your dog company too. I follow your dogs normal routine as closely as possible as I think this helps them feel more settled. We have a fenced garden that dogs have access to throughout the day.

“Mathilde was a hit with all of our ‘fur family’. They were happy and content when we returned. I’m sure they will be happy when Mathilde looks after them overnight next week.”

“We couldn’t be more happy with Kate as she’s been looking after our 2 boys, Stewie (2 year old rescue Dachshund) & Biggles (6 year old Jack Russell). Pro-active communication, lots of photos (which we love) & an obvious connection with the two dogs which she clearly loves (and they love her). We couldn’t recommend Kate more.”

“Sophie is absolutely lovely, She popped in to meet my 4 dogs ahead of my mini holiday. My dogs all loved her, even my grumpy boy who doesn’t like anyone. I am very happy now knowing my dogs will be happy with Sophie whilst I’m away.”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Christchurch
Nicki was fantastic!gave generously of her time to meet and chat over our needs while our usual dog walker was away on holiday. She was punctual and could be trusted with accessing our property while we were out at work. Our border terrier loved seeing her and going for walks. Can highly recommended Nicki, clearly a dog lover. Thank you.
I couldn't recommend Avery enough. I was quite worried about leaving Smudge because she's become very attached to me as her only caregiver as I live alone with her, so she is very shy and nervous around other people. Because of that, I wasn't sure how she would settle, but Avery put my mind at ease straight away. She sent regular, detailed updates about how Smudge was doing, including her behaviour, eating, and little bits of progress she was making. It was so reassuring to receive these updates and know that Smudge was being looked after. What amazed me was how much Smudge seemed to come out of her shell while she was with Avery. She's always been very cautious around people, but Avery clearly took the time to build trust with her and make her feel safe. Since coming home, Smudge seems much more confident and relaxed around others, which is something I never expected. Avery was kind, reliable, and genuinely cared about Smudge's wellbeing. It was obvious that she treated her as if she were her own pet. I’m so grateful for the care and attention she gave Smudge, and I wouldn't hesitate to leave her with Avery again in the future!

Sammy was amazing, she booked us in at short notice as our previous sitter was unwell. She met our dog before and discussed what we needed. She also agreed to let my son’s dog out at the same time. She was very prompt and sent photos of the dogs happily playing. We would defiantly contact sammy again if we need someone.
Sophie was my cat’s butler whilst we were on holiday. My cat can be a real Madame but Sophie listened to our recommendations about how to deal with Penny. By the end of the week Penny was seeking fuss and attention as she had been left to come to her. Sophie was patient and helped her build trust. I would definitely recommend and would book her again.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
