Pet care experience

SEN TA and Dog Lover

Hi, I’m Joel. I’m a Teaching Assistant in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) setting, regularly involved in outdoor activities and Forest School sessions. This means I’m at my happiest outdoors, rain or shine, and I’m used to managing a variety of unique needs with patience and a calm, positive approach. Working in an SEN environment has taught me how to read body language and learn to provide care for each individual’s needs - skills that translate perfectly to dealing with our furry friends! Whether your dog is a zoomy explorer who loves adventure or a more nervous personality who needs a gentle, patient companion, I can adapt my walking style to suit them. Why choose me? * DBS-Checked: I hold a current Enhanced DBS through my school role. * Genuine Love For The Outdoors: Spending most of my work and free time outside, all year long. * SEN Expertise: I’m highly patient and experienced with 'big' personalities and complex needs. * Reliable & Responsible: I’m used to following strict safety protocols and routines. * Experience with reactive/nervous dogs: Growing up at home with rescue dogs with challenging behaviours, learning to nurture and understand dogs both confident and nervous. Reach out with any queries you might have and I’ll respond as soon as I am able. Initial meet and greets with dogs are completely free as I’ll be eager to get to know the dogs before we set off on our first walk together!

Safety, trust & environment

I can commit my full focus and attention towards your four legged loved ones, as I get as much joy being around them as they hopefully will around me! I have a very calm demeanour which I like to think helps the people and dogs around me feel the same way too.

Joel is reliable and caring. Your dog will always be safe with him and look forward to seeing him. He has always had dogs around and knows their wants and needs. I would happily leave my dog with him with complete confidence.

Joel is a natural with dogs! He has years of experience handling dogs of all temperaments and sizes with care and compassion. Whether it’s an energetic large dog that needs a long walk or a gentle medium-sized dog needing companionship, Joel handles them with patience and confidence. He is reliable, attentive, and puts the pets' needs first. Highly recommended!
