“Danuta and her family were so accommodating and kind, making sure Floki’s first night away from us was comfortable and reassuring. They went above and beyond to help him settle in and have fun. We’d be delighted for him to stay with them again — their location and flexibility made everything easy and stress-free for us.”

“Barra had a wonderful long weekend break with May - full of walks, playtime, and downtime as appropriate. She also learned some great new behaviours from May, such as how to sit at the curbside and the 'touch' tip. As a new and protective dog owner of an 8 month old, I had complete faith in May and could see how happy and well looked after Barra had been when I came to pick her up. I also learned some new skills in looking after Barra myself. May (Ping Yan L.) is a calm and compassionate person and her love of dogs and care for them shines through. I was able to enjoy my weekend away with complete peace of mind. May also sent me messages, photos and videos of how Barra was doing. I only go to Cambridge every few months but know that Barra now has a real companion there and very much look forward to booking May again.”

“Lauren is fantastic and highly recommended. My dog often seems a bit stressed when he's come and had such a good time during his 10-night stay with her. Lauren kept us updated throughout and sent daily videos and photos of him enjoying his walks.”

“I have an elderly dog with multiple health issues and a complex medication regime. For this reason she cannot be left alone for long and I was very anxious about leaving her. I need not have worried. She had a fantastic week with Erin and Andrea. After her first trial visit, as soon as she saw there street, she was pulling to get to their door - very excited. Erin and Andrea made additional notes to mine and coped with the routine without a hitch. They contacted me during the trial nights to ensure they had fully understood, and for clarification on something I had overlooked. It was lovely to receive their updates and be able to see that my dog was loving doing her usual things. And I was able to relax knowing my dog was in capable and caring hands. I cannot recommend this couple more highly.”

About: What sets me apart is my flexibility and genuine love for animals. I work from home, so I can provide care throughout the day, including for pets that need extra attention or companionship. I'm also able to drive, making it easy for me to travel to your home. I've cared for pets with separation anxiety, high-energy dogs that need long walks, and pets that require more frequent care and supervision. I'll always make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and comfortable while you're away. Working from home allows me to provide flexible, attentive care throughout the day. Whether your pet needs multiple walks, regular playtime, companionship, or extra supervision, I can easily adapt to their routine. I understand that some pets experience separation anxiety, so I'm happy to spend extra time with them to help them feel calm, safe, and comfortable while you're away. Every pet receives plenty of love, patience, and individual attention. While I'm unable to host pets in my own home because I have a cat, I'm happy to care for your pet in the comfort of their own home. Staying in a familiar environment helps reduce stress and keeps your pet in their usual routine. I'll make sure they receive plenty of attention, playtime, walks (if needed), and lots of love while you're away.
“Absolutely everything you would wish for from someone looking after your dog. Thank you, Julia! Kind and reliable, understanding about Gus’s quirks, plus easy to arrange the plan with. Hopefully see again you soon :)”

“Suey is a wonderful dog sitter. I received regular updates and photos during my dogs stay with her and her partner, which made me feel reassured knowing my dog was safe and well looked after. Thanks Suey!”

“Kinga was fantastic and I would recommend to anyone. She kindly took our late booking and asked lots of questions, making sure our boy would be as comfortable as possible. Our dog got along great with Rai, he is definitely missing her a bit after going home! It was clear that our dog was in great hands and had a good time with Kinga.”

“Mariana and her family were very welcoming. She provided tons of pictures while I was away and even left with a gift from her lovely daughter . The pups had such a great time and I would recommend and use her for my next vacation.”

About: Hi there, I had a cat called Sylvester and a black Labrador called Rocky growing up. Both lived to very old ages. I have since been a cat sitter for multiple cats, boarding at homes for different families, and a dog walker and sitter for a friend’s dog, Tovey, from when she was a puppy onwards. I work from home Wednesday-Friday and am generally at home on the weekends. If you have a dog I would take it on walks to the park and river. I have a ground floor flat with a fenced garden. With a door directly into the garden your pets can wander inside and outside while remaining in a safe environment.

“Max was an absolutely amazing host for our nervous dog. Him and his partner took great care of Thor and made us feel so comfortable and happy leaving him there overnight. They were really accommodating and gave lots of updates of him having a great time.”

“Buttercup had the most wonderful time with Teresa on her first-ever non-family overnight boarding experience. She was so well looked after and I received fantastic photos of her enjoying herself.”

“Gareth took wonderful care of our pup. We can usually tell in pictures if our dog is stressed or anything like that and the multiple daily pictures from him assured us she had settled in and felt comfortable quickly! They took daily walks and was very communicative and quick to respond! Would definitely reccommend!”

“Our little puppy Bailey was well cared for while my family were out of town. Zhong provided great updates along the way to let us know he was doing well. Thank you again for taking in Bailey!”

“We keep on rebooking with Stella as she and her partner take great care of our dog Astrid. She sends us updates and our dog doesn’t want to leave their place when we pick her up! Thanks both so so much 🙏”

“Flora had a lovely stay with Caroline. Caroline sent me lots of updates and photos which was great to see. Caroline had a very easy way with Flora and clearly had a lot of experience with dogs. I would recommend Caroline and definitely use Caroline again!”

Right from the meet and greet session, and throughout Willow's stay with Nova, she made us feel at ease, continuously reassuring her of Willow's wellbeing and status on food, walks, cuddles through messages and photos. She patiently took time to understand Willow's personality, preferences, medications and schedule. It was amazing to see Willow settle in so easily with Nova and her partner in just under a day. Highly recommend Nova to even nervous fur parents.

This was Rai's first longer stay away from us since we have adopted her just over 3 months ago and needless to say we were a little nervous leaving her behind. However, we didn't need to worry! I'm very happy with how well Lauren looked after Rai. Lauren is very communicative, approachable and friendly and clearly cares a lot about the pets she looks after. Rai came back home content and happy, having enjoyed 2 weeks on her own holiday! I would have not hesitation to use Lauren again and would recommend her to others.

Sol was brilliant. I booked very last minute for a 7 night stay, and she was so welcoming and kind. My dog can be quite anxious in new places, but Sol handled it patiently and kept me updated throughout. He seemed so relaxed and happy when I picked him up, and it was clear he’d been well cared for. I thank you so so much! We were at ease leaving him with her :)

This was our first experience with Rover since relocating to the UK. Rocio was very helpful and flexible to accommodate our pups needs and was happy to have a couple of meet and greets prior to their stay. This was great as it helps all of us get comfortable with leaving them with a new person. Rocio provided lots of updates and photos during their stay and it was clear that our pups were with very happy with the arrangement. We highly recommend Rocio and we will be using her again in the future!

Kinga was fantastic and I would recommend to anyone. She kindly took our late booking and asked lots of questions, making sure our boy would be as comfortable as possible. Our dog got along great with Rai, he is definitely missing her a bit after going home! It was clear that our dog was in great hands and had a good time with Kinga.

Danuta and her family took brilliant care of Phoebe. She sent us regular updates, including photos and videos, which made us feel very reassured that Phoebe was receiving excellent care and enjoying her stay with them. We will definitely bring our dog back again if we ever need to leave her in someone else's care. Highly recommended!

Kat did a wonderful job caring for our labradoodle, Otto! She is a dog lover and very knowledgeable about dog care and dog behavior. We met Kat twice before deciding on using her services. On the day of pickup , Otto greeted Kat like she was a long lost friend with multiple kisses! We were very reassured about leaving Otto with Kat after that greeting. Communication was excellent between us and Kat. Kat was flexible in addressing Otto's needs. She was very careful with Otto's daily routine during the recent hot spell in the UK. Otto returned to us happy ,and in wonderful shape . I am sure he will be excited to see Kat and her dog CJ again on his next visit. Thanks Kat!

We are so incredibly grateful to have found Poppy! Since she has extensive experience with rescue dogs, she was the perfect match for our highly anxious Bal. From the very first moment, Poppy gained our trust, and we never looked back. Poppy has an amazing ability to read a dog’s unspoken language; she anticipated Bal’s needs before we even had to mention them. We had total peace of mind throughout our entire holiday. When we picked Bal up, she was not only happy but visibly braver and more confident. We know she’s going to miss Poppy and her sweet dog, Casper, dearly. If you’re looking for a caregiver who truly 'gets' dogs, look no further!

Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
