“Lucy had a great time! We appreciated seeing videos of how she was doing. Especially the updates of her on her walks, she seems very content (& snoozy) afterwards. Thank you for having her :)”

“Suey is a wonderful dog sitter. I received regular updates and photos during my dogs stay with her and her partner, which made me feel reassured knowing my dog was safe and well looked after. Thanks Suey!”

“Can’t recommend Danuta and her family highly enough - they sent loads of beautiful pictures of really wonderful walks, to the point where we were worried Charlie would want to stay there! Will definitely use again, thank you very much!”

“I had only good experiences in rover so far, and mostly gave 5 stars to every person that took care of my pets. May gave a different meaning to 5 stars! She took my puppy Lola and took care of her like it was her own, designed a schedule with activities and gave her the attention a puppy needs (playing, stimulating activities, hygiene, etc). I have to say my puppy was better trained in every aspect when she returned home. In the end, May still gave us a document with tips for training. May was also very accommodating with late booking modifications which I cant thank enough! It was a fantastic experience and I plan to repeat it!”

“Gareth is a great dog sitter! He provided great care and attention during Jojo's stay. Gareth kept us updated with regular photos and messages. He was also very responsive and attentive to Jojo's needs, especially when she unfortunately developed a stomach bug. He took her to the vet and administered the necessary medication. We would recommend Gareth to anyone looking for a reliable and responsible dog sitter. Thank you Gareth!”

“Absolutely everything you would wish for from someone looking after your dog. Thank you, Julia! Kind and reliable, understanding about Gus’s quirks, plus easy to arrange the plan with. Hopefully see again you soon :)”

“Rocio was wonderful caring for our large labradoodle! She provided us with regular updates, and we appreciated her taking the time for a meet and greet. We will definitely request for her to watch our dog again!”

“Such a lovely couple. I have an elderly dog with complex health issues which requires a demanding routine with lots of medication. They were absolutely brilliant with her on her first trial sleep-over. She had a lovely time and didn’t seem to want to leave. I feel totally confident to book her if whilst I’m away on holiday.”

“Rachel did an amazing job of looking after my elderly 13 year old dog and my bouncy 6 year old. She was excellent at updating me with photos of the dogs so that I knew they were happy and settled. Rachel was also extremely fast at responding to my messages which I really appreciated. It was clear to me that Rachel and her partner are very comfortable with dogs and looking after them. My dogs settled quickly and had lots of cuddles. I would definitely use Rachel again and would highly recommend her.”

“Kat was just who we needed for our dog Pepper. She has a clean home and a lovely dog of her own, Oscar. Oscar and Pepper got along well. Pepper was there for 5 days and seemed happy when I picked her up. Kat was very good with her communication and shared an update every now and then when I requested. I highly recommend Kat.”

“Thank you for looking after Ciri really well and for photos update you’ve sent us while she was with you, she seemed very happy and had lots of playtime with other pup. And lots of cuddles too 🥰. We’ll definitely contact you again next holiday xx”

“Ecehan is fantastic with Ollie - he absolutely adores her and I think the feelings are mutual! ;-) Always a fantastic experience in dealing with her, great communications, easy and flexible drop-off and pick-up. A+++ dog sitter/carer...”

“Stella is very nice and responsible, sending me pictures and texts during the whole time. Bagel had a nice time with her and we will definitely let her to stay again for the next time! :D”

“Our dog had a great stay with Sam and Harper - she came home happy and relaxed. They kept in touch very conscientiously, providing lots of pictures of our girl. We’ll definitely book with them again. Thank you!”

“Thank you Teresa for looking after Bess so well again and having her stay for her first night with you. ❤️ it was so great to have the photos come through and to know she was in safe hands. Thank you.”

About: I'm an experienced dog and cat sitter. I grew up taking care of my cats and my family's dog which taught me how to properly look after them and make sure that they feel loved! I moved to Cambridge in 2023 and since then I have pet sit (both cats and dogs) for several people, and I'd love to care for your furry friend too! . If you chose me to look after your pet, I'll provide pictures and updates, as I know how stressful being away from them can be. Whether you're going away and need someone to care for your pet for a few days, or you just need my services as a dog walker, I'd be happy to have the opportunity to be the one to care for them. Taking care of animals brings me genuine joy and I assure you that your pet will be treated with lots of love! I have recently finished my sixth form studies so I'll be completely free to take care of your pets for the time being. However, during the moth of May I'll be only available to walk dogs or provide drop-in visits. On the days 17, 18 and 19 I'll also be able to provide doggy day care (1 day). Starting June, I'll be able to dog and cat sit normally. I live on a lovely flat that I only share with my mother. It has enough space for a small or medium dog or a cat to be happy and comfortable and live peacefully without disruption. We also have access to a private garden and there are several parks nearby that are perfect for walks.
“Lisa was wonderful to work with! She watched both my dogs over 4 days and was extremely communicative. I also received some happy photos and videos which really allowed me to enjoy my time away. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve taken care of friends & families dogs - I love animals and live alone in a two bedroom flat, so there is plenty of space for a pup. I also have an outdoor green area for walks. I work full time during the week but I am available from 5pm in the evenings to take your animals on walks. I am at home on weekends, so can look after all day / night! I live in a spacious two bedroom apartment with a locked balcony door. Safety is my number one priority always. I am attentive and caring, and generally a very observant person. Happy to provide references if you need and make any adjustments. By profession, I am a scientist :)

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - South Cambridgeshire
This was the first time we have left Lola with anyone and we’re very nervous about doing it but Jacob really made us feel at ease. We received regular updates and photos on Lola and this helped to put our minds at rest. I would recommend Jacob to anyone looking for a dog sitter. He was brilliant - we will be using him again.

May has been amazing all the way. What a gem! She's incredibly knowledgeable about dogs and we were super happy with her. She gave us updates with photo and video and had worked out a great routine with our doggy Reed. We had great peace of mind knowing she was taking such great care of our dog. She continued training with him and made great progress teaching him new skills with her knowledge having trained a therapy dog. She also shared tips for us to continue reinforcing his training which were really helpful! Highly recommend.

I have an elderly dog with multiple health issues and a complex medication regime. For this reason she cannot be left alone for long and I was very anxious about leaving her. I need not have worried. She had a fantastic week with Erin and Andrea. After her first trial visit, as soon as she saw there street, she was pulling to get to their door - very excited. Erin and Andrea made additional notes to mine and coped with the routine without a hitch. They contacted me during the trial nights to ensure they had fully understood, and for clarification on something I had overlooked. It was lovely to receive their updates and be able to see that my dog was loving doing her usual things. And I was able to relax knowing my dog was in capable and caring hands. I cannot recommend this couple more highly.

Danuta and her family took brilliant care of Phoebe. She sent us regular updates, including photos and videos, which made us feel very reassured that Phoebe was receiving excellent care and enjoying her stay with them. We will definitely bring our dog back again if we ever need to leave her in someone else's care. Highly recommended!

Kat did a wonderful job caring for our labradoodle, Otto! She is a dog lover and very knowledgeable about dog care and dog behavior. We met Kat twice before deciding on using her services. On the day of pickup , Otto greeted Kat like she was a long lost friend with multiple kisses! We were very reassured about leaving Otto with Kat after that greeting. Communication was excellent between us and Kat. Kat was flexible in addressing Otto's needs. She was very careful with Otto's daily routine during the recent hot spell in the UK. Otto returned to us happy ,and in wonderful shape . I am sure he will be excited to see Kat and her dog CJ again on his next visit. Thanks Kat!

Mariane and her family are truly amazing Doggysitters 🐶 Such warm, caring, and lovely people. Our dogs already start wagging their tails as soon as we enter her street because they’re so excited to go there 😊 Her little daughter is also incredibly sweet and gentle with the dogs. You can really feel how much love and care they give them. Highly recommended!

We are so incredibly grateful to have found Poppy! Since she has extensive experience with rescue dogs, she was the perfect match for our highly anxious Bal. From the very first moment, Poppy gained our trust, and we never looked back. Poppy has an amazing ability to read a dog’s unspoken language; she anticipated Bal’s needs before we even had to mention them. We had total peace of mind throughout our entire holiday. When we picked Bal up, she was not only happy but visibly braver and more confident. We know she’s going to miss Poppy and her sweet dog, Casper, dearly. If you’re looking for a caregiver who truly 'gets' dogs, look no further!

Alfie certainly enjoys his time with Ecehan. He remembers her house as he’s been there a few times now and gets excited as we approach. This was the first long stay but he’s definitely enjoyed it and has come back looking happy and well. Ecehan provides regular updates/videos and it is clear from them what a great time Alfie is having. This included zooming around playing with other cockers, a beach trip as well as quieter moments resting after a busy day. Thank you Ecehan!

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
