“Eva was amazing as always. She took great care of Happy, and she didn’t seem sad at all during my absence. Eva kept me updated daily, and I’m very grateful to her for that. Both Happy and I can’t wait to see her again soon. Also, thank you so much for the lovely Christmas gift!❤️ Wishing you and Daniel a wonderful Christmas. XXX”

“HUGE thanks to Jirka for taking care of our chocolate brown Labrador Bear. Jirka was thoughtful, kind and very flexible - adding feeding our cats at the last minute - and it was clear that Bear had been very well cared for. Bear was a very content dog when he came home. Thank you Jirka!!”

About: I’ve loved and cared for dogs my whole life, from raising my own to helping family and friends. I am patient, reliable, and attentive. I enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality through walks, play, and companionship. I currently work full time, but I have flexibility for daytime walks or quick check-ins. I’m also available most evenings and weekends for longer walks, pet care, or house sitting. I always follow your pet’s routine to keep them comfortable and happy. I’ll make sure they get plenty of walks, attention and care, while also respecting your home and keeping everything clean and tidy.
“After being let down by two previous dog sitters Vanessa was great, she is reliable, took great care of our Labrador and took her out for walks, sent pics and videos of her playing so we knew all was well. Highly recommended!”

About: I’m a PhD student at the Uni, proudly owned by a 6-year-old cat. I’d love to offer cat-sitting help in a thoughtful, gentle, and endlessly patient way. I truly believe good communication between cat owners and sitters is essential—because our fluffy family members deserve nothing less than royal-level service. Let’s team up to keep your little furball happy!
“Kleo provided exceptional care for our dog Jellybean. It was our first time leaving JB with a sitter since rescuing her just a few months ago so, naturally, I was a little nervous. But Kleo came to meet JB twice before we left for our trip, which really helped. She was super communicative the whole time (1 week), sending us photo and video updates and checking in with any questions about JB’s routine. Kleo also took great care of our house. We would 100% leave JB with Kleo again, and would highly recommend her for pet and house sitting!”

“Yi-Hao was the absolute dreamiest person to look after griff whilst I was in Cambridge for a gig. Griffy was so happy to hang. Went above and beyond and left our Airbnb in better state than we left it. Would highly recommend !!!”

About: Ive always had a dog and I am also loved by cats, I love giving them attention and like it too. You're leaving your baby in safe hands coz when Im with pets they become my world. I feel I understand animals well, even though they can’t communicate in the same way we do—perhaps it’s my biologist’s instinct. I truly enjoy spending time with them and would be delighted to care for your beloved pets. As a PhD student, I have a self-managed schedule, which allows me to dedicate quality time and attention to pet care. I also see this as more than just a side role—it’s something that brings me joy and a sense of calm, almost like therapy, while ensuring your pets feel safe, loved, and well looked after. As I have lived in the past in an area where wildlife is common, I always took extra precautions to keep pets safe, including ensuring they remain indoors after 6 PM, even for short strolls. I also carefully check the environment to remove any sharp or hazardous objects. Most importantly, I pay close attention to their behavior and cues, making sure they feel heard, understood, and comfortable at all times.
“Ralph was completely faultless. He stayed at our house to look after our disabled French bulldog Ivy for a weekend. We were somewhat apprehensive about it all but on meeting him we were filled with confidence and the experience was great. Not only was he excellent with Ivy, who requires very specific care, but he was incredibly clean and left the house as if he hadn’t been there. Nothing bad to say and will definitely been requesting him again.”

About: I am a responsible, patient, and caring person who truly loves animals. I have experience taking care of dogs and cats with different personalities and needs, including energetic pets, shy animals, and senior pets who need extra attention and comfort. What makes me different is the love and attention I give to every pet. I understand that pets are family members, so I always make sure they feel safe, happy, and comfortable while their owners are away. I can help with daily walks, feeding, playtime, companionship, basic care, and maintaining the pet’s routine. I am also attentive to details, organized, and reliable, which helps pets feel calm and secure in my care. Pet care fits very well into my daily and weekly routine. I have a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate consistent time to walks, visits, and overnight stays when needed. On a daily basis, I am available in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings depending on prior arrangements. I make sure to plan my day so I can fully focus on each pet without rushing, giving them the attention and care they need. I always prioritize safety, trust, and comfort when caring for pets. I follow the owner’s instructions closely, keep the environment clean and secure, and make sure pets feel calm and comfortable at all times. I supervise them carefully, provide fresh water, food, walks, and attention, and treat every pet as if they were my own.

About: I have loved dogs and cats (and all the other animals!) since I was a kid, as I grew up on a small farm. I always enjoyed their company, and they seem to enjoy mine ☺️ I had a black lab called Brian in my adult years and a cat called Simba. My heart broke to pieces twice when I lost them. I have always been actively seeking dog and cat sitting opportunities, especially before and after Brian. My longest dog sitting was nearly 6 months long, and I still go to visit him whenever I can as we have formed a lovely bond. I currently work for a company producing smart devices as well as other products for dogs (soon cats, too!), so I am very familiar with the dog & cat world and their welfare is very important to me (as well as all the other animals!). I work full time in a 9-5 office role, but I am based mostly from home and generally have a good degree of flexibility throughout the week, with the occasional exception when I need to be in the office or attend meetings elsewhere. This means I can usually fit pet care easily around my schedule. For dogs, I can provide walks before work, during my lunch break, and again after work, as well as plenty of companionship throughout the day. I enjoy being active and spending time outdoors, so daily walks and quality time with pets fit naturally into my routine. My goal is always to make pets feel comfortable, cared for, and relaxed while their owners are away. I usually care for pets in their own home, as I find they are happiest and most comfortable in familiar surroundings. For dogs in particular, this almost always means that I stay in the owner’s home so they can keep their usual routine and enjoy the comforts they are used to. I am happy to discuss having a dog stay in my home if needed. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always look after both pets and homes with care, respect, and attention to detail.
“This was the second time Francesca looked after our puppy and she has built up a really nice rapport with Olive- lots of nice photos of them going for walks and Olive was so calm around her. Highly recommended!”

“Hooper was so happy to see Larissa again, and was certainly taken great care of. Larissa was super considerate that she stayed longer until my husband was home. Really really grateful for her kindness.”

“Zoe was absolutely fantastic taking care of our two dogs while we were on holiday. Gave us daily updates regarding the dogs and what they had been up to so that we didn’t worry. The house was in perfect condition when we returned. Could not recommend her enough. Thank you Zoe.”

About: I have lots of experience walking and sitting all ages sizes of dog (with a particular soft spot for spaniels!) as well as looking after cats. I'm a recent graduate, working part time and studying independently. I have plenty of free time and miss my pets at home. Until I can get my own, I'm very happy to sit for other people's cats and dogs. I have a large fenced yard, and I'm right by Grantchester meadows for walks. My home is pretty dog and cat-proofed, but we don't have a crate etc.
“Berkant was absolutely phenomenal taking care of J while we were out of town. Before the booking, he came by to introduce himself and took J on a walk, then returned the day before to go over J’s routine and take him on a longer walk. During the stay, he visited four times a day and walked J for 30 minutes to an hour each time. He sent photos, videos, and updates after every visit, which gave us complete peace of mind. I cannot recommend Berkant enough and will definitely be booking with him again.”

Francesca took excellent care of Pixie, including multiple walks, lots of attention and tons of cuddles. We had regular updates and fun pics sent our way throughout the day. So cute! Francesca was a very respectful and considerate house sitter, too, and we will definitely be booking with her in the future.

We really appreciated Sophia sitting for our two boys when we stayed in Cambridge. Without her, my wife and I wouldn't have been able to attend our son's graduation together. Sophia was very flexible, as when we initially booked we did not know the exact times, and needed to change slightly. She was very friendly and punctual, and we recommend her as a sitter.

Charlotte did a fantastic job catsitting/housitting with our cat. Reggie has multiple medications to manage, and Charlotte did a great job sticking to her medication schedule and following the different protocols. We have a slightly needy/fiesty cat, which she dealt with wonderfully. I think she may have also left the house cleaner than I left it! I'm so grateful for all the care and support she provided over the full week and all of the updates she provided. I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for a cat sitter! Thank you so much Charlotte!

Lucia, set with my dog and two cats and I loved that she shared updates frequently, was clear and open in her communication, asked if anything was not clear from my side. She took great care of my pets and my house that was left in great condition. Thanks a lot, Lucia

Tahiana was absolutely wonderful looking after our dog, Socks, while we were in Cambridge for the weekend. From the moment we met her, it was clear how caring and lovely she is. She kept us updated throughout with regular messages and photos, which gave us complete peace of mind and allowed us to relax knowing Socks was in such good hands. She really took the time to get to know Socks and made sure he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. It was obvious from all the updates that he was having a fantastic time—and when we got back, he was relaxed, happy, and clearly had formed a lovely bond with her. We wouldn't hesitate to book with her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, reliable, and attentive dog sitter. Thank you so much again, for taking such amazing care of Socks!

Kleo provided exceptional care for our dog Jellybean. We would 100% leave JB with Kleo again, and would highly recommend her for pet and house sitting!

Rocio was amazing with our two dogs. She spent quite a bit of time with them beforehand in a meet and greet so that they were comfortable with her in the house, and quickly built a positive bond with them. Rocio was extremely professional and attentive, and I would definitely recommend her if you are looking for someone to take care of your doggos!

Simply can’t recommend Emma enough! She was absolutely incredible with my nervous pup, who warmed up to her really quickly. We met for a few play dates prior to the house sitting, and it was clear Emma knew how to be around and support anxious dogs. I could tell my dog felt safe and relaxed with her ❤️ She also sent me regular photos of him while I was away and kept me updated on how the little chap was doing. She was incredibly respectful of our home, as well! So grateful we found her!

I had such a great experience with Ivory! She was incredibly kind and sweet with our girls and made me feel so comfortable leaving them in her care. She sent thoughtful updates while we were away, which I really appreciated, and it was obvious they were being well loved and taken care of. I would absolutely recommend Ivory and hope to book with her again in the future.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Cambridgeshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
