“I can’t say enough amazing things about Indre! She watched Millie and Ellie for the first time this past weekend, and wow — she was absolutely wonderful. From the beginning, she genuinely cared about the girls and made me feel completely at ease. She kept me updated throughout the weekend, sent lots of pictures, and asked thoughtful questions to make sure they were happy and comfortable. She even took them on extra walks without me asking and stayed longer so they wouldn’t have to spend as much time alone. It was so clear that Indre wasn’t just “watching” them — she genuinely cared about them and treated them like they were her own. That means everything to me. Millie and Ellie were happy, well cared for, and clearly loved having her around. I would absolutely recommend Indre to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, attentive, caring, and willing to go above and beyond. We will definitely be booking her again! ❤️🐾”

“Elinor was fantastic house sitting our 7 month old golden retriever puppy over the 3 days! We were delighted with the care she gave our golden retriever puppy. Puppies can be quite a handful, but she was patient, kind, and clearly cared for her as if he were her own. We came home to a happy, relaxed puppy and a tidy house, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. She kept us updated with messages and photos throughout our trip, and her communication was excellent. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring house sitter, and we’d happily ask her to sit for us again.”

“Larissa spent the day with Rupert today and we couldn't have been more relaxed. Her frequent updates and care for him made it easy. Rupert looked really relaxed too! We will definitely use Larissa again when we need dog sitting again. Thanks, Larissa!! ❤️”

“Kleo provided exceptional care for our dog Jellybean. It was our first time leaving JB with a sitter since rescuing her just a few months ago so, naturally, I was a little nervous. But Kleo came to meet JB twice before we left for our trip, which really helped. She was super communicative the whole time (1 week), sending us photo and video updates and checking in with any questions about JB’s routine. Kleo also took great care of our house. We would 100% leave JB with Kleo again, and would highly recommend her for pet and house sitting!”

“Sophie is amazing with Tilly and knowing she is in safe hands makes me feel a lot better. We book Sophie any time we need help with Tilly and she is always amazing and Tilly adores her. So glad we found Sophie.”

“Zoe was lovely and very punctual both for the meet & greet and also the booking. Zoe was very sweet natured and I felt Marnie was in very good hands. Communication was excellent. Would book again!”

“Philippa and David looked after Eddie my anxious, sometimes reactive Labrador for 8 days in July. They were fantastic with him. They seemed to understand his needs and the unpredictability of his reactivity which can be challenging for me, let alone someone new. They kept me up to date with photos which were appreciated. I came home to a very happy Eddie who had been well looked after. They left the house spotless. I would definitely recommend David & Philippa and will certainly be using them again.”

“Berkant was absolutely phenomenal taking care of J while we were out of town. Before the booking, he came by to introduce himself and took J on a walk, then returned the day before to go over J’s routine and take him on a longer walk. During the stay, he visited four times a day and walked J for 30 minutes to an hour each time. He sent photos, videos, and updates after every visit, which gave us complete peace of mind. I cannot recommend Berkant enough and will definitely be booking with him again.”

“Jirka was great with Marvin, came to meet us the weekend before the arranged day to pet sit. Kept in contact with us throughout the day sending pics and vids - lovely lovely guy!! Thanks Jirka!”

“Yi-Hao was the absolute dreamiest person to look after griff whilst I was in Cambridge for a gig. Griffy was so happy to hang. Went above and beyond and left our Airbnb in better state than we left it. Would highly recommend !!!”

“Zoe was incredible with Sunday. Sunday had a great weekend. Zoe kept us informed throughout her time with Sunday and sent lots of photos. Also Zoe kept our house well cared for and the place looked great when we returned. Can’t thank Zoe enough for looking after our home and dog so lovingly.”

About: I treat every dog like family, the same way I care for my own beagle who has been with me for 4 wonderful years. Back in my hometown, I also grew up with a Labrador who is now a 14-year-old senior, so I understand the patience, gentleness, and extra attention older dogs need. Alongside that, as a family we have run pet boarding with different breeds like retrievers and Shih Tzus, which gave us first-hand experience in handling dogs of all sizes, personalities, and energy levels. Whether it’s playful puppies or calm seniors, we adapt to their needs—long walks, cuddles, or quiet companionship. I am attentive, responsible, and genuinely love dogs. You can trust that your pet will feel safe, happy, and loved while in my care. Pet care is part of our daily routine. Both my wife and I work from home, so we take turns looking after the dogs throughout the day. This means they get regular walks, playtime, feeding on schedule, and plenty of companionship, so your pet is never left alone. We’re flexible with hours and can provide full-time or part-time care depending on your needs. In our home, pets are treated like family. We ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment with supervised playtime and plenty of attention. When caring for pets in a client’s home, we respect their routine and follow all instructions carefully feeding, walks, medications, or any special care,so your dog feels secure and stress-free.
About: I have had pets my whole life and love animals. I’ve grown up caring for dogs, cats, horses and chickens. As well as taking care of my own pets, I’ve done paid work including cat sitting, babysitting with dogs and general house sitting. I’m available on week days and weekends for the next two months. I’m happy staying overnight to look after pets, but cannot currently host pets at my house due to having my own dog who gets unsettled. I’m happy to cater to your pets needs, whether it’s staying in and keeping them company, or taking them for long walks. I’m happy around all pets of all sizes!
“Patricia is a fantastic cat and house sitter who we wouldn't hesitate to contact again. She was engaged and communicative from our very first contact on Rover. She took an immediate interest in our two cats, and we could quickly see she was at ease around cats and very comfortable handling them. She kept us updated with regular photos and videos of our two cats, was confident giving medications to our one cat that needs them, and asked relevant questions about their care and routine that gave us confidence that she would look after them well. Thank you so much, Patricia, for taking such great care of our cats - we'll definitely be in touch for future cat + house sitting needs!”

Abbie was a lovely carer for our two dogs and kept our home neat as a pin. She took the girls on adventures every day and had snuggles, sending us daily updates with photos and letting us know all the news. We would highly recommend her as a responsible and kind dog sitter. Two paws up!! ❤️🐶🐶

Indrė looked after my German Shepherd x collie Rocky for 2 nights and did an absolutely incredible job. Her communication is excellent and she stuck to the schedule and routine provided really thoroughly which is exactly what he needs; I felt really confident that Rocky was in good hands and came home to a happy dog! Indrė is extremely trustworthy and lovely and I will definitely be asking her to come back!

Jasmine was a great communicator, punctual and very warm and friendly. My dog liked her immediately and it took her all of two seconds to curl up and fall asleep next to her! Got some lovely pics throughout the day, per my request, which was a great reassurance that Juno was happy and being well locked after.

Francesca took excellent care of Pixie, including multiple walks, lots of attention and tons of cuddles. We had regular updates and fun pics sent our way throughout the day. So cute! Francesca was a very respectful and considerate house sitter, too, and we will definitely be booking with her in the future.

We really appreciated Sophia sitting for our two boys when we stayed in Cambridge. Without her, my wife and I wouldn't have been able to attend our son's graduation together. Sophia was very flexible, as when we initially booked we did not know the exact times, and needed to change slightly. She was very friendly and punctual, and we recommend her as a sitter.

Lucia, set with my dog and two cats and I loved that she shared updates frequently, was clear and open in her communication, asked if anything was not clear from my side. She took great care of my pets and my house that was left in great condition. Thanks a lot, Lucia

But Kleo came to meet JB twice before we left for our trip, which really helped. Simply can’t recommend Emma enough! She was absolutely incredible with my nervous pup, who warmed up to her really quickly. We met for a few play dates prior to the house sitting, and it was clear Emma knew how to be around and support anxious dogs. I could tell my dog felt safe and relaxed with her ❤️ She also sent me regular photos of him while I was away and kept me updated on how the little chap was doing. She was incredibly respectful of our home, as well! So grateful we found her!

Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Cambridgeshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
