Tahiana was absolutely wonderful looking after our dog, Socks, while we were in Cambridge for the weekend. From the moment we met her, it was clear how caring and lovely she is. She kept us updated throughout with regular messages and photos, which gave us complete peace of mind and allowed us to relax knowing Socks was in such good hands. She really took the time to get to know Socks and made sure he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. It was obvious from all the updates that he was having a fantastic time—and when we got back, he was relaxed, happy, and clearly had formed a lovely bond with her. We wouldn't hesitate to book with her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, reliable, and attentive dog sitter. Thank you so much again, for taking such amazing care of Socks!

Eva was amazing as always. She took great care of Happy, and she didn’t seem sad at all during my absence. Eva kept me updated daily, and I’m very grateful to her for that. Both Happy and I can’t wait to see her again soon. Also, thank you so much for the lovely Christmas gift!❤️ Wishing you and Daniel a wonderful Christmas. XXX

Ralph was completely faultless. He stayed at our house to look after our disabled French bulldog Ivy for a weekend. We were somewhat apprehensive about it all but on meeting him we were filled with confidence and the experience was great. Not only was he excellent with Ivy, who requires very specific care, but he was incredibly clean and left the house as if he hadn’t been there. Nothing bad to say and will definitely been requesting him again.

In one word : extraordinary! It was the first time we were leaving our dog in the UK while travelling abroad and we were looking for someone to look after her at home. Lily is very shy with strangers and she adopted Rocio after only a few visits. She took the time to come by so that Lily could get used to her and the outcome was brilliant! We were a bit stressed out at first but Rocio has been reassuring the whole time, keeping us updated everyday through messages and pictures. And she left our house clean and tidy. Thank you again Rocio, we will definitely book you next time to sit Lily.

About: Ive always had a dog and I am also loved by cats, I love giving them attention and like it too. You're leaving your baby in safe hands coz when Im with pets they become my world. I feel I understand animals well, even though they can’t communicate in the same way we do—perhaps it’s my biologist’s instinct. I truly enjoy spending time with them and would be delighted to care for your beloved pets. As a PhD student, I have a self-managed schedule, which allows me to dedicate quality time and attention to pet care. I also see this as more than just a side role—it’s something that brings me joy and a sense of calm, almost like therapy, while ensuring your pets feel safe, loved, and well looked after. As I have lived in the past in an area where wildlife is common, I always took extra precautions to keep pets safe, including ensuring they remain indoors after 6 PM, even for short strolls. I also carefully check the environment to remove any sharp or hazardous objects. Most importantly, I pay close attention to their behavior and cues, making sure they feel heard, understood, and comfortable at all times.

About: Since I was a little there was always a dog or a cat in my life. I love all fury buddies and they bring me so much joy. I’m working two jobs in town of Cambridge. I’m available to do walkies after 5pm or stay and doggie sit when you need to take time for holidays. My working days vary but on my days off I’m very flexible. I have a fenced garden and my flatmate owns a female german shepherd who loves to make new friends. She is very gentle when playing and scared when few smaller dogs surprises her with attention.

About: Professional feline handler, former veterinary assistant and current kitty mom at your service! Hello, my name is Sanna and if there's one thing I'm crazy about, it's cats. I have my MSc at the Royal Veterinary College and Zoological Society of London researching animal epidemiology and welfare. Although I am a crazy-cat-lady, I love animals in all degrees of fuzziness; I also have experience with and am available to sit your dog/rabbit/ferret/tortoise/snake/chinchilla/etc. I am new to Cambridge, having just moved from London and previously Seattle, WA (USA) where I worked at the city's first cat cafe. As a Feline Guardian of the Cat Kingdom for over two years, I solely cared for 25+ cats per shift (with simultaneous medical monitoring and public education). At this position, I organised and administered adoption placements; while working there, I helped the Seattle Meowtropolitan Cat Cafe increase the city's adoption rate by 20%. I am fur-tunate to have helped rehome over 150 cats. Additionally, during my Bachelors I worked with Banfield Pet Hospital as a veterinary assistant and accordingly I am qualified for simple medical procedures. When it comes to caring for cats... you can say I've done that be-fur. Let me tell you a tail.... I have owned three cats in my life: a pair throughout childhood and my current fuzzbaby, Tobias. I rescued Tobias within three days of moving into my first apartment (I know, three days is way too long without a cat), who suffers from a variety of pre-existing medical conditions (9 total specifically) and has now officially outlived his life expectancy by four years. He has transformed into a thriving travel companion with the most radi-claw purr-sonality and by this point has likely lived in more states and countries than the average person. I am feline paw-sitive about the paw-sibility of caring for your best fur-end and flat. You must be thinking... you've got to be kitten me with these puns. I can promise my feline skills are better than my ability to tell jokes, there will be no cat-astrophies and I will move meowtains for a purr. Paw-lease consider me!

Melisse did a terrific job of sitting our darling dog for a week while we were overseas visiting family. We love our girl (GSD/Husky), but she is definitely a handful, as she can be a bit reactive towards other dogs on walks and also has complex medical needs (epilepsy) that require her to take multiple medications twice per day. Given all that, we always get nervous when leaving our dog with a new sitter, as we need someone quite responsible to look after her. Melisse did awesome during the sitting -- she is clearly super comfortable around dogs (even big ones!), followed our instructions perfectly, and it was clear she really cared for Bijou and enjoyed spending time with her while we were away. She was good about being in touch daily and sending cute pics, as well as asking questions when things came up. We would highly recommend Melisse as a responsible sitter that can definitely handle animals with complex needs.

Berkant was absolutely phenomenal taking care of J while we were out of town. Before the booking, he came by to introduce himself and took J on a walk, then returned the day before to go over J’s routine and take him on a longer walk. During the stay, he visited four times a day and walked J for 30 minutes to an hour each time. He sent photos, videos, and updates after every visit, which gave us complete peace of mind. I cannot recommend Berkant enough and will definitely be booking with him again.

Charlotte did a fantastic job catsitting/housitting with our cat. Reggie has multiple medications to manage, and Charlotte did a great job sticking to her medication schedule and following the different protocols. We have a slightly needy/fiesty cat, which she dealt with wonderfully. I think she may have also left the house cleaner than I left it! I'm so grateful for all the care and support she provided over the full week and all of the updates she provided. I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for a cat sitter! Thank you so much Charlotte!

But Kleo came to meet JB twice before we left for our trip, which really helped. Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Cambridge on Rover is £40.25 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,174 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Cambridge. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Cambridge walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cambridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
