About: Hello, my name is Alessandra (Ally) and I am an energetic and responsible dog enthusiast! I've spent a lot of my life living with dogs, looking after other people's pets, and walking and sitting dogs of all shapes and sizes. I fully understand what a big deal it is to trust a stranger with your dog. If you’d like to chat on the phone or speak to people for whom I have previously dog-sat/-walked please just ask. I usually work from home. I therefore have lots of flexibility to look after your four-legged friend and head out for walks as they need. I have an multi-floor, safe apartment - your dog is free to roam around and enjoy themselves. If sitting at your home, I'll make sure your pet has their normal routine and follows house rules :)
About: I’m comfortable with all dogs however, my experience is mainly with larger dogs. I’ve grown up caring for Dobermans, American bulldog crosses and, Staffordshire bull terriers. I have experience waking, feeding and bathing dogs in addition, I can train dogs to complete basic tasks and potty train. I’m currently a student meaning, I have plenty of spare time to look after and keep your dog entertained. It also means my weekends are available for work. I wouldn’t be able to care for dogs within my own house since I’m renting however, I am more than happy to care for your pet in your home and go on long but familiar walks
About: I am a caring and responsible animal lover with experience looking after dogs and cats of different ages and personalities. I regularly care for my neighbour’s dog and have experience with dog sitting and dog walking, ensuring pets receive plenty of exercise, attention, and companionship while their owners are away. As a cat owner myself, I understand the importance of providing attentive and reliable care. I currently have two cats and am experienced in meeting their daily needs, including feeding, play, and maintaining a comfortable routine. In addition, I previously worked as a call operator for veterinary clinics, which gave me valuable knowledge of animal health, wellbeing, and common pet care concerns. I understand the importance of recognising when an animal may need extra attention and following owners’ instructions carefully. I am dependable, patient, and committed to making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while in my care. Whether it’s a walk, a home visit, or overnight care, I will treat your pets as if they were my own. I’m not currently working so I have a lot of free time and can easily fit pet care into my routines. I can pet sit from all hours. I don’t normally pet sit in my house as I have 2 cats but I can pet sit at the owners home. I can take your dog on long walks at any time.
“Emma was very professional and communicative throughout. We got photos of our cat at each drop-in which reassured us he was happy with her visits. Would very happily book her again!”

About: I grew up surrounded by dogs and my parents have a collective 6 dogs that I have lots of experience tending to. I have experience working at a dog boarding business that typically has around 8-10 dogs at any given time. I helped with the dogs and the boarding business when I was living back in California and I still do whenever I go home. Because of this I have dealt with many types of dogs. I have taken care of puppies and administered medication for aging or sick dogs. The dog boarding business I have experience with has a gated property in the woods and do not kennel their dogs so I am used to having dogs around and in the house constantly and dealing with the needs of many dogs at the same time. I have done a lot of housesitting. This includes two families whose whose farms I used to housesit for for up to three weeks at a time. They both had cats, a large dog, chickens, a garden, and an orchard. One also had horses and the other had goats. Because of this I am very comfortable taking care of large properties and dealing with farm animals. I am also comfortable managing dogs around farm animals. I have also cat sat for 2 weeks for a family with two cats (one of whom was elderly and needed medication and lots of attention). I work remotely so I can work from your home and watch your animal during the day I currently work from home full time and have a fairly flexible schedule so I can come take care of your pet all day while I work. I am able to provide them with as much care as they need during the day while I work. I am organised and very good at following the instructions you set out for the care of your pet. I am not able to watch pets in my own home due to a no pets contract but I can come and upkeep your home for you while watching your pet I am an expedited house sitter and can make sure your house is given just as much care as your animal. I have experience watching large properties and a large number of animals and following strict instructions for the upkeep of both.

About: Ive always had a dog and I am also loved by cats, I love giving them attention and like it too. You're leaving your baby in safe hands coz when Im with pets they become my world. I feel I understand animals well, even though they can’t communicate in the same way we do—perhaps it’s my biologist’s instinct. I truly enjoy spending time with them and would be delighted to care for your beloved pets. As a PhD student, I have a self-managed schedule, which allows me to dedicate quality time and attention to pet care. I also see this as more than just a side role—it’s something that brings me joy and a sense of calm, almost like therapy, while ensuring your pets feel safe, loved, and well looked after. As I have lived in the past in an area where wildlife is common, I always took extra precautions to keep pets safe, including ensuring they remain indoors after 6 PM, even for short strolls. I also carefully check the environment to remove any sharp or hazardous objects. Most importantly, I pay close attention to their behavior and cues, making sure they feel heard, understood, and comfortable at all times.
“Larissa is a lovely young woman who made fast friends with my cat, Flash. She followed my instructions to the letter, including sending us adorable photos and videos on a regular basis. We came back home to find a calm, happy, well-feed kitty. We will definitely be using her again!”

About: I’ve been around animals since I was about 2 years old and I’ve had pets at home since I was 8 (cats and dogs). 🥰 My family even adopted a stray dog when living abroad (in India ) and trained her from scratch. It was a lengthy but very rewarding process. It taught me a lot about dog psychology and training. We often used to foster dogs before they went into their forever families or did dog sitting for dogs to stay at our house overnight. I really love all animals, I am very patient with pets and very attentive to their needs. I am a full-time MPhil student but I am very happy to take care of your pets (for doggy walks, drop in visits and house sitting) whenever I am free. I am usually available during the evenings and on week ends ☺️ I can completely understand how daunting it might be to leave your pet at home while you are away. I will always try my best to make your pet as comfortable and happy as possible 💕 I listen to their special needs, whether they require special exercises to remain occupied or frequent belly rubs! 😻 Please let me know about your pet’s routines and I will adapt accordingly :)
About: I have a level 3 qualification in animal management. I have also grown up with German Shepherds and have previously had 2 dachshunds. I am experienced in looking after large breeds , and reactive breeds as our family dog was reactive to people and dogs due to his past . I raised two dachshunds which has given me experience in puppy training and dealing with puppy biting , toilet training , and the different needs a puppy has. I thoroughly enjoy training dogs and have a keen interest in dog behaviour and psychology . I have attended years of dog training and obedience classes to learn more about different training methods and techniques. I have also completed a level 3 qualification in animal management in which I have studied animal nursing, husbandry, behaviour, and more. I have a few years of experience dog sitting and cat sitting. I also grew up with cats and have had experience looking after them. I’m currently on a gap year, so free a lot of the time! I’m travelling a little so will be away some weeks, but know this in advance. I can’t accommodate your pet in my home as I don’t live in pet friendly accommodation. In your home I would provide enrichment and physical exercise to keep your pet entertained. Then we can have some downtime if they need it, and depending on their comfort around me, maybe some strokes!
About: PLEASE NOTE: FROM 18TH JULY WE WILL HAVE A YOUNG GOLDEN SHEPHERD PUPPY IN THE HOME. KEEP IN MIND WHEN BOOKING. We are Kate and Ben, a professional couple in our late 20s providing dog services in central Cambridge. I have always grown up with dogs and I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes. We used to have a gorgeous Bernese x border collie called Fig and caring for her has been a joy and a privilege. We have also hosted a number of dogs in this house and are confident looking after anyone who might need a sleepover! We are very flexible so just drop us a message and we can see what we can do to help! At the moment we are only providing weekend dog services with the potential for week nights in the future. Noone works weekends so we are free to look after your pup. Our house is in the mill road area with lots of great grassy spaces nearby. Our garden is off the road but opens onto a passageway that leads to other gardens so we only take dogs out for wee breaks on the lead. Fig had complex medical needs around food so we'll happily accommodate any requests you have. Our house is comfortable and very dog friendly with plenty of space to play or just curl up for a nap.

“Taja was a wonderful and very reliable cat sitter. She took great care of our two cats, and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. Communication was easy and she was very considerate and gentle with our cats. I would happily recommend Taja to anyone looking for a cat sitter in Cambridge!”

“Olivia has looked after my very young Cockapoo puppy twice now. She came to meet us before she started her visits and us a warm. Kind and relaxed, animal lover with good knowledge and experience of caring for dogs. She is punctual and sends detail updates and photos during her stay. She has my full confidence.”

About: Hello! My Martyna and if I had to choose the biggest love of my life, I'd choose dogs (choice not easy - have a boyfriend who is a good cook!). I am a scientist working for the University of Cambridge, which means I am pretty flexible when it comes to hours of dogsitting/dog walkies and can help you out pretty much at any time of the day. I have been surrounded by dogs my whole life (at family home, mostly dachshunds, newfoundlands, rottweillers and terriers - yes, we have a huge yard and yes, my parents are also dog-obsessed); in fact, I am a proud owner of Pancho, the friendliest mix of border collie and terrier any dog (or human) has ever met. Because of Pancho, I have recent first-hand experience with puppyhood and training, but I am able to care for dogs at all of the stages of life. I work from home everyday. I have a dog myself, for whom I provide play and walks multiple times a day. If your dog likes other dogs companionship, great - I can introduce him to Pancho and we can all have great time together. If they are more of an introvert/prefer human companionship, I am very happy to provide them with separate walks and playtime. I have three medium-sized gardens around my property, where the dogs can play and relax during the day. Depending on the weather, I can provide longer outside walks throughout the day, or only at specific times (for example, with the heatwave, I would stay in the garden and play with the dog here, with constant access to shade and fresh water, as well as possibility to go home and rest in coolness when that's preferred; I do that with my dog Pancho, where I take him out for long walks in the early morning, and evening).
About: I’ve been caring for dogs for over 3 years, starting with my own pup and extending to friends, and family pets. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and personalities, from energetic puppies to older companions who just want gentle walks and cuddles. I believe every dog deserves patience, kindness, and lots of love, and I always do my best to make them feel safe and happy. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, or quiet company, I enjoy giving pets the care and attention they need. My schedule is flexible, and I can usually adjust to fit your pet’s needs. Whether it’s morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening cuddle time, I’ll do my best to be available when your pup needs me. Your pet’s safety is my top priority. I follow instructions closely, from feeding routines to leash rules, and I never take risks with a dog’s well-being. Walks are always on secure leashes, doors and gates are double-checked, and I keep a close eye on pets at all times. I believe that being strict about safety is the best way to build trust—so you can feel confident that your pup is in caring, reliable hands.

Imogen replied to my request for a sitter straight away to let me know she was available. It was short notice so I was delighted she could come to mind my dog whilst I had to go out. Imogen let me know when she was close and arrived on time. She was really lovely and my dog liked her straight away too. She did not cry when I left which is the first time ever. Imogen did a great job of looking after my dog who was happy and very relaxed when I got back and had clearly bonded with Imogen. I’d be really happy for Imogen to look after my dog again again and would highly recommend her as a reliable, kind and caring pet sitter

Pauline was absolutely amazing with my dad's dog tyson. She done a weekend for us while my dad was in hospital and tyson had the best time! She sent photos and videos over after each visit which was lovely. Highly recommend Pauline, we will definitely be using her again! Thankyou

Railey and Tom are lovely people . My pet babies had a wonderful time and would wait by the door for them . Alphey slept quite good in the night after the walks. It’s quite difficult to leave pets and houses to strangers in charge while you are away . But they absolutely rocked ✨ would recommend them 💯.
Beatriz and her partner took amazing care of my pooch during a drop in visit while I was out all day. They followed all the instructions I left and made sure that he ate and toileted before they left him. He was a very happy boy when I got home, thank you so much. Would definitely recommend!

It was great having Maisie walk the dogs this week. She arrived on time and was ready for a walk with a lively cocker spaniel! We had done a meet and greet the week before so they were both very happy to go with her. I had complete confidence that she could manage an older dog and a younger livelier one and I'll definitely be using Maisie again

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
