About: I am a caring and responsible animal lover with experience looking after dogs and cats of different ages and personalities. I regularly care for my neighbour’s dog and have experience with dog sitting and dog walking, ensuring pets receive plenty of exercise, attention, and companionship while their owners are away. As a cat owner myself, I understand the importance of providing attentive and reliable care. I currently have two cats and am experienced in meeting their daily needs, including feeding, play, and maintaining a comfortable routine. In addition, I previously worked as a call operator for veterinary clinics, which gave me valuable knowledge of animal health, wellbeing, and common pet care concerns. I understand the importance of recognising when an animal may need extra attention and following owners’ instructions carefully. I am dependable, patient, and committed to making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while in my care. Whether it’s a walk, a home visit, or overnight care, I will treat your pets as if they were my own. I’m not currently working so I have a lot of free time and can easily fit pet care into my routines. I can pet sit from all hours. I don’t normally pet sit in my house as I have 2 cats but I can pet sit at the owners home. I can take your dog on long walks at any time.

About: I’ve been a devoted pet parent for many years. My cat is 6 years old and my dog is 5 years old, and caring for them has taught me how important it is to understand each pet’s unique personality, emotions, and needs. My cat is a sensitive rescue who had an eye infection when I first adopted him. Helping him recover taught me patience and the importance of respecting a pet’s boundaries and earning their trust. My dog once became unusually quiet and uncomfortable, and I quickly realised something wasn’t right. I took her to the vet, where she was diagnosed with pyometra and received treatment in time. That experience reinforced how important it is to notice subtle changes in behaviour and wellbeing. These experiences taught me how to notice subtle changes in behaviour, appetite, energy levels, and mood. I understand that pets can’t tell us when they’re uncomfortable, so careful observation and quick action are essential. At the moment, my cat and dog live with my former partner in my home country, and I’m not yet in a position to bring them to live with me. I miss caring for them every day, which is one of the reasons I joined Rover. I would love to share the same patience, attention, and affection with other people’s beloved pets and make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m self-employed and have a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide reliable pet care throughout the week. I currently offer dog walking, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and companionship services in Cambridge. To ensure I can give your pet the attention they deserve, I kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice whenever possible. This also gives us enough time to discuss your pet’s routine and specific needs before the visit. Your pet’s comfort and safety are my top priorities. I have experience caring for both cats and dogs and pay close attention to changes in behaviour, energy levels, appetite, and mood. During visits, I make sure pets have fresh water, follow their feeding routine carefully, and receive the attention, playtime, or quiet companionship they need. I believe every pet is different, so I adapt my approach to their personality and respect their boundaries. I also provide updates and photos whenever requested, so you can feel reassured while you’re away.

About: Hello, my name is Alessandra (Ally) and I am an energetic and responsible dog enthusiast! I've spent a lot of my life living with dogs, looking after other people's pets, and walking and sitting dogs of all shapes and sizes. I fully understand what a big deal it is to trust a stranger with your dog. If you’d like to chat on the phone or speak to people for whom I have previously dog-sat/-walked please just ask. I usually work from home. I therefore have lots of flexibility to look after your four-legged friend and head out for walks as they need. I have an multi-floor, safe apartment - your dog is free to roam around and enjoy themselves. If sitting at your home, I'll make sure your pet has their normal routine and follows house rules :)

About: Ive always had a dog and I am also loved by cats, I love giving them attention and like it too. You're leaving your baby in safe hands coz when Im with pets they become my world. I feel I understand animals well, even though they can’t communicate in the same way we do—perhaps it’s my biologist’s instinct. I truly enjoy spending time with them and would be delighted to care for your beloved pets. As a PhD student, I have a self-managed schedule, which allows me to dedicate quality time and attention to pet care. I also see this as more than just a side role—it’s something that brings me joy and a sense of calm, almost like therapy, while ensuring your pets feel safe, loved, and well looked after. As I have lived in the past in an area where wildlife is common, I always took extra precautions to keep pets safe, including ensuring they remain indoors after 6 PM, even for short strolls. I also carefully check the environment to remove any sharp or hazardous objects. Most importantly, I pay close attention to their behavior and cues, making sure they feel heard, understood, and comfortable at all times.

About: I have over 30 years of experience caring for pets, including both dogs and cats. Animals have always been a central part of my life, and I truly understand how important they are as family members. Over the years, I have cared for up to three cats at a time, including sibling cats, and I am very comfortable managing multi-pet households. Since living in the UK, I have continued caring for both cats and dogs, including pet sitting in owners’ homes as well as hosting pets in my own home. I also have experience caring for pets with medical needs, including administering medication, helping with recovery routines, and providing gentle, attentive care when they need a little extra support. I am calm, responsible, and very attentive to each pet’s personality and needs. Whether your pet is playful, shy, elderly, or needs medical care, I always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your pet is being cared for as if they were my own! Pet care fits very naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I work from home, which allows me to be fully present and flexible in my availability throughout the day. Because I am at home most of the time, I can provide regular attention, feeding, playtime, and supervision without pets being left alone for long periods. This also allows me to adapt easily to each pet’s individual routine and needs. I am generally flexible during weekdays and weekends, and I am happy to accommodate both short-term and longer stays depending on availability. My lifestyle is calm and home-centered, which makes it ideal for caring for cats and dogs who need consistency, companionship, and a relaxed environment. I provide a safe, calm, and loving environment for all pets, whether in my home or in the owner’s home. I work from home, which means pets are never left alone for long periods and receive constant care and companionship throughout the day :) In my home, I live in a ground-floor flat with direct access to a large, secure internal garden. This gives pets a safe outdoor space to enjoy fresh air and gentle exploration under supervision. I also live very close to several parks, which is ideal for dogs who enjoy walks and outdoor time. I always make sure pets feel comfortable, relaxed, and safe, and I carefully follow their usual routines, feeding schedules, and any special instructions provided by the owner. Whether caring for pets in my home or in theirs, I treat every animal as if they were my own, ensuring a calm, secure, and loving environment at all times.

About: I grew up surrounded by pets: 1 dog (a goldie), 3 cats, 2 hamsters, 2 birds. And all this in a city flat. So I know what it needs to make things run smoothly: frequent, early and late dog walks, feeding schedule, cleaning, etc. I took care of different types of dogs from small to large, old to young: poodles, airdale terrier, Foxterrier, English setter, mixed breed. My parner‘s family‘s dogs (goldie, English setter, mixed breed) were very old and we sitted them for several days. I am a PhD student and can work from home - or anyone else’s home as long as I have WiFi. All I need is to know briefly in advance. My meetings tend to not go longer than 2 h. I have experience with many different types of dogs and can adapt to the dog’s personality. If the dog is young and active, I can go for long walks, play fetch, etc. if the dog is older I’m happy to go for short walks. I am very diligent so would follow owner instructions most accurately.

About: I grew up with dogs and cats at my parents home. My very own first pet as a teenager was a mixed breed black Pomeranian and I had a cat too. In later life my husband and I had a pure breed White German shepherd for 5 years or so and we then started a family and later had two moggies. We still have one and she’s over 19 years old. I’ve always loved dogs and cats 😍 I’m free during the day, seven days a week. But I do work in the evenings from 6 to 11pm or so six days a week from Tuesday through to Sunday. I’m happy to care for your pet in your home as I have an elderly cat that is not used to other cats or dogs.

About: I’ve been around animals since I was about 2 years old and I’ve had pets at home since I was 8 (cats and dogs). 🥰 My family even adopted a stray dog when living abroad (in India ) and trained her from scratch. It was a lengthy but very rewarding process. It taught me a lot about dog psychology and training. We often used to foster dogs before they went into their forever families or did dog sitting for dogs to stay at our house overnight. I really love all animals, I am very patient with pets and very attentive to their needs. I am a full-time MPhil student but I am very happy to take care of your pets (for doggy walks, drop in visits and house sitting) whenever I am free. I am usually available during the evenings and on week ends ☺️ I can completely understand how daunting it might be to leave your pet at home while you are away. I will always try my best to make your pet as comfortable and happy as possible 💕 I listen to their special needs, whether they require special exercises to remain occupied or frequent belly rubs! 😻 Please let me know about your pet’s routines and I will adapt accordingly :)

Imogen replied to my request for a sitter straight away to let me know she was available. It was short notice so I was delighted she could come to mind my dog whilst I had to go out. Imogen let me know when she was close and arrived on time. She was really lovely and my dog liked her straight away too. She did not cry when I left which is the first time ever. Imogen did a great job of looking after my dog who was happy and very relaxed when I got back and had clearly bonded with Imogen. I’d be really happy for Imogen to look after my dog again again and would highly recommend her as a reliable, kind and caring pet sitter

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
