“Tina was an amazing sitter for our pup Stella - reliable, caring, and incredibly accommodating throughout. She made everything easy for us, we felt completely confident that our dog was in great hands. Would happily book her again and highly recommend Tina!”

About: A highly responsible and compassionate professional with 17 years of experience as a Teaching Assistant(TA) and Higher Level Teaching Assistant(HLTA), now transitioning into professional dog walking and pet sitting in my home or yours. A lifelong owner with extensive experience caring for dogs, cats, amphibians and aquariums with a proven ability to manage complex behaviors, including, grooming, exercise, dietary needs and medical care. I applied advanced positive reinforcement techniques to raise and fully train a Labrador and family (Cookie who died 17) companion to a high level of obedience and socialization. Alongside many other beloved babies over these many years. There would be a tailored approach to meet the unique needs of each of your cherished pets , much like adjusting walking or sitting styles for different breeds and temperaments, physically active and capable of managing high-energy breeds in all weather. . DBS-checked, holder of a clean driving license (currently without a car), and deeply committed to the safety, exercise, and happiness of animals in my care. After 17 years working in education, of which I left to travel the world. I now do some part time retail work in Cambridge city center. This is a 0 hour basis and open to negotiation when I work. Which of course means I am available 7 days a week. Looking after your four legged friends is about fitting into your routine and theirs. I live next to the River Cam, which makes me nearby to all the local commons for your furry friends to run and have space. I also have a fenced and gated back garden for security and welfare of our fur babies. I do also own a cage should that be the way your pet is accustomed, nevertheless everything else would have to be provided by you and the way your babies are cared for is customized by how you/they like it. Unless emergency care/ last minute, I recommend/prefer a meet and greet before any decisions are made, to see how we fit.
About: Hi there, I had a cat called Sylvester and a black Labrador called Rocky growing up. Both lived to very old ages. I have since been a cat sitter for multiple cats, boarding at homes for different families, and a dog walker and sitter for a friend’s dog, Tovey, from when she was a puppy onwards. I work from home Wednesday-Friday and am generally at home on the weekends. If you have a dog I would take it on walks to the park and river. I have a ground floor flat with a fenced garden. With a door directly into the garden your pets can wander inside and outside while remaining in a safe environment.
“Sam had another brilliant stay with Golnar. We could tell from the updates that he was happy and settled, and very well looked after by Golnar and her husband. Lots of play and attention and Sam's next stay is already booked in. Thank you!”

“Gabriela did an amazing job looking after my cat for 2 weeks while I was on holiday. I will definitely go back to her next time. She sent regular updates and pictures multiple times a day. My cat is usually very shy but she warmed to Gabriela very quickly and looked like she had a great time! I cannot recommend her strongly enough.”

“Gareth was an amazing sitter and provided Sabrina with a cozy, friendly home while we were away. He provided updates multiple times a day with pictures. This was our first time leaving Sabrina and our minds were at ease while she was at Gareth’s. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend Gareth.”

“We received many photos and videos of Cyrus, which really helped put our minds at ease. Cyrus is clearly enjoying the summer camp (we like to think of this care as a summer camp!). We would definitely recommend Liz to anyone looking for care for their dog. We’ll definitely book again in the future.”

“Gemma and her dog Herbie were really lovely and I felt very relaxed to leave our dog Bonnie with them both. Communication was excellent and Gemma sent regular updates and videos/photos which was very thoughtful. I would definitely recommend and I hope Gemma is available next time we need someone to take care of Bonnie!”

“This was the first time Ottie had been left in the sole care of somebody who were not her 'humans'. Understandably, I was very nervous and worried about leaving her for a week with somebody new, disrupting her routine. However, it's clear to see she has been well looked after. James sent regular updates making me feel reassured whilst we were away that she was perfectly fine and happy. I think it's safe to safe that Ottie enjoyed her own little holiday and I would not hesitate to ask James to look after her again. Thank you so much.”

“My cat Graham stayed with Justyna and she took such great care of him! She sent me lots of pictures and videos of him and he looked so happy in all of them. Justyna and her partner are both so lovely and I felt really happy leaving Graham with them and I know he was getting lots of attention!!”

“Dora has looked after Nala a few times and Nala has been very happy in her company. Nala isn’t the easiest dog and Dora cares for her as if she was her own. Would highly recommend Dora!”

About: Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I have grown up with dogs and now own the most wonderful cavapoo, Callie, who is just over 1 year old. I have been looking after dogs in and around Cambridge for the last year and a half on other platforms and would love to meet new doggos and humans through Rover. We got Callie as a puppy and so are well aware of the needs of young puppies and I am more than happy to do dog training whilst your companion is in my care. My last dog lived to the grand age of 16 and so I am also sensitive to older dogs and making them comfortable. My work is flexible and so I can look after dogs as and when required with very few exceptions from weekly work commitments. Weekends and evenings are always free. I own my home which has a good sized garden with 6-foot fence. I live opposite a play park and so are not close to any busy road. With my own dog I am relaxed with where she goes - on sofas, beds, etc. She does sleep in a crate but we have also had dogs sleep on the bed with me as well.

“Sol was brilliant. I booked very last minute for a 7 night stay, and she was so welcoming and kind. My dog can be quite anxious in new places, but Sol handled it patiently and kept me updated throughout. He seemed so relaxed and happy when I picked him up, and it was clear he’d been well cared for. I thank you so so much! We were at ease leaving him with her :)”

About: I have had a wonderful Yorkshire Terrier for the past 10 years, I grew up with him and often looked after him while my parents were away. I also started walking the dogs of neighbours and family friends around the same time. I love dogs and enjoy spending time with them so dog walking and dog sitting was a natural choice for part time work whenever I was back at home from university. I have now finished my degree and have a lot more free time to spend with furry friends! I am currently available all day until the end of August, I start work again at the start of September and will usually finish around 3pm, so evenings are doable. I am very flexible regarding hours. My garden is fenced and my dog is not currently living with me (he is at my parents), so I have a very safe and secure environment. There are some great parks in my area for walking as well as a spacious interior that stays cool in the summer for your dog to relax in.

About: I have cared for dogs, cats, horses and all sorts of pets most of my teenage and adult life. I’m comfortable administering medication and providing careful senior care, as well as hitting the park with your dog for many many ball throws. My partner has owned dogs for 8 years and is dog crazy, they seem to love him too! We both work hybrid, and are happy to care for your pet during day, evening, overnight and weekends. We can visit locally by foot and with car. We have a quiet flat overlooking midsummer common, so have a wonderful huge green space right outside our window for endless ball throwing, sniffing, and bounding around.
“Larissa was great with our dog Mo. He was happy and well taken care of while we were away, and she sent regular updates during his stay. Would rebook again with Larissa in the future.”

About: What sets me apart is my flexibility and genuine love for animals. I work from home, so I can provide care throughout the day, including for pets that need extra attention or companionship. I'm also able to drive, making it easy for me to travel to your home. I've cared for pets with separation anxiety, high-energy dogs that need long walks, and pets that require more frequent care and supervision. I'll always make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and comfortable while you're away. Working from home allows me to provide flexible, attentive care throughout the day. Whether your pet needs multiple walks, regular playtime, companionship, or extra supervision, I can easily adapt to their routine. I understand that some pets experience separation anxiety, so I'm happy to spend extra time with them to help them feel calm, safe, and comfortable while you're away. Every pet receives plenty of love, patience, and individual attention. While I'm unable to host pets in my own home because I have a cat, I'm happy to care for your pet in the comfort of their own home. Staying in a familiar environment helps reduce stress and keeps your pet in their usual routine. I'll make sure they receive plenty of attention, playtime, walks (if needed), and lots of love while you're away.
“Lauren was amazing - took Remus on lots of fun looking walks and sent us videos and picked him up and dropped him off at our house as a special request! Thanks for having him!”

“Wade and Michelle took amazing care of our very nervous and quite high maintenance dog, Cookie. They very kindly met Cookie in advance, and during the stay sent regular updates and photos of them on walks and snuggling on the sofa. They are a lovely family and we will be using them again.”

Caroline and her partner were absolutely lovely and took such great care of Cooper! 🥰 He was clearly very happy and comfortable with them, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such caring hands. I’d happily leave Cooper with them again and would definitely recommend Caroline to anyone looking for someone kind and trustworthy to look after their pup! 🐶

Gabriela took great care of our family pug. She clearly loves dogs and has a very gentle and caring attitude. She was also extremely responsive and gave us updates with pictures twice a day! We will definitely use her services again in the future . Thank you so much Gabriela!

Roxy had a fantastic time with you over the 3day boarding! Thank you so much for providing such lovely updates and sharing how she had settled and what she has been up to. You gave us so much reassurance and thank you for taking the time to make sure Roxy has the best stay possible!

Sol was brilliant. We were at ease leaving him with her :)

Patricia was a fantastic dog sitter. She was friendly, reliable, and clearly loves dogs. Oreo warmed to her very quickly, which immediately put our minds at ease. She kept us updated throughout, so we always knew how Oreo was getting on. I'd happily recommend Patricia and would definitely book her again.

This was our first experience with Rover since relocating to the UK. Rocio was very helpful and flexible to accommodate our pups needs and was happy to have a couple of meet and greets prior to their stay. This was great as it helps all of us get comfortable with leaving them with a new person. Rocio provided lots of updates and photos during their stay and it was clear that our pups were with very happy with the arrangement. We highly recommend Rocio and we will be using her again in the future!

Thanks once again to Steve and Mel for looking after Portia over a long weekend. Although excited to see us when we picked her up, it was clear that Portia enjoyed her stay in Milton. It's good to see that she and Sam rub along well together. Not every dog is relaxed about welcoming intruders into their home!

Maryelly was incredibly flexible, caring, and dedicated to making sure my dog had a great time during her stay. My girl Luna is a bulldog, and Maryelly was very attentive to make sure that during the hottest days of the summer, she was taken care of. I'd highly recommend Maryelly to anyone looking to make sure their pet has a loving carer!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
