“May is an excellent dog sitter. She is very knowledgeable and made sure that Jake had a lovely time with plenty of walks and play. Her communication is great and she sent us regular updates with pictures and videos. I recommend her highly.”

“We are so incredibly grateful to Suey for how she looked after our dog. This was a very last minute booking and Suey was so gracious through the whole process. Ettore was well looked after, happy, all his needs were met and my husband and I were worried that he wouldn’t want to come home! Thank you so very much! We will most certainly ask Suey to look after Ettore again!”

“Absolutely everything you would wish for from someone looking after your dog. Thank you, Julia! Kind and reliable, understanding about Gus’s quirks, plus easy to arrange the plan with. Hopefully see again you soon :)”

“Tahiana was amazing with our puppy! She is a kind lady and she definitely played a lot with my dog as it takes a lot to wear her out and she was tired when we collected her 😄 We will definitely be using her again. Would definitely recommend for future dog sits!”

“We keep on rebooking with Stella as she and her partner take great care of our dog Astrid. She sends us updates and our dog doesn’t want to leave their place when we pick her up! Thanks both so so much 🙏”

“I am so grateful to Patricia and her lovely family for taking such great care of Button, my 17year old Jack Russell. Because of his age he has some problems. Patricia listened, understood and kept my dog very happy. She was so caring and so loving to him. When I picked him up after over a week he was calm, his fur felt so soft and he was very content. Absolutely would recommend her and her family to take care of your pet. Alex J”

“Gabriela did an amazing job looking after my cat for 2 weeks while I was on holiday. I will definitely go back to her next time. She sent regular updates and pictures multiple times a day. My cat is usually very shy but she warmed to Gabriela very quickly and looked like she had a great time! I cannot recommend her strongly enough.”

“Zhong took good care of my dog, keeping me updated regularly with photos and videos, which gave me so much peace of mind. Mocha was taken on walks, and seemed very happy in their care.”

“I have an elderly dog with multiple health issues and a complex medication regime. For this reason she cannot be left alone for long and I was very anxious about leaving her. I need not have worried. She had a fantastic week with Erin and Andrea. After her first trial visit, as soon as she saw there street, she was pulling to get to their door - very excited. Erin and Andrea made additional notes to mine and coped with the routine without a hitch. They contacted me during the trial nights to ensure they had fully understood, and for clarification on something I had overlooked. It was lovely to receive their updates and be able to see that my dog was loving doing her usual things. And I was able to relax knowing my dog was in capable and caring hands. I cannot recommend this couple more highly.”

“Golnar provided a wonderful example of how a dog sitter should be Golnar provided several daily updates about my dogs and I felt happy for them to be looked after by her I cannot thank her enough”

“Bibiana was very prepared and experienced looking after dogs. The garden was perfect for my cocker spaniel to run around. I would have liked to have seen a picture of my pup settled in but he was only there 1 evening over night to be fair.”

“Jack had such a lovely holiday with Lauren, we were worried he wouldn't want to come home! Lauren kept us up to date with video of him having lots of fun with other dogs and looking quite at home and relaxed in Lauren's home. Highly recommend!”

“Max was an absolutely amazing host for our nervous dog. Him and his partner took great care of Thor and made us feel so comfortable and happy leaving him there overnight. They were really accommodating and gave lots of updates of him having a great time.”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Cambridge
This was our first experience with Rover since relocating to the UK. Rocio was very helpful and flexible to accommodate our pups needs and was happy to have a couple of meet and greets prior to their stay. This was great as it helps all of us get comfortable with leaving them with a new person. Rocio provided lots of updates and photos during their stay and it was clear that our pups were with very happy with the arrangement. We highly recommend Rocio and we will be using her again in the future!

Thanks once again to Steve and Mel for looking after Portia over a long weekend. Although excited to see us when we picked her up, it was clear that Portia enjoyed her stay in Milton. It's good to see that she and Sam rub along well together. Not every dog is relaxed about welcoming intruders into their home!

Gigi has had the best time with Patricia, and is honestly one of the best sitters that my dog has been with. Patricia was very patient with GiGi and so gentle and sweet with her. Patricia is very aware of animal behaviours and can handle difficult dogs very easily, she gave expert advice in addition to her amazing care. I would highly recommend Patricia!

Maryelly was incredibly flexible, caring, and dedicated to making sure my dog had a great time during her stay. My girl Luna is a bulldog, and Maryelly was very attentive to make sure that during the hottest days of the summer, she was taken care of. I'd highly recommend Maryelly to anyone looking to make sure their pet has a loving carer!

Erin was a great sitter for Ollie, I booked very last-minute as his regular sitter had to be away at very short notice, but everything worked out really well. I think Ollie had a super time, especially spending time with Erin and her lovely black lab. Thanks so much.

Namita was amazing with my dog! She was sweet and patient, especially with my dog that is anxious upon meeting strangers. Namita sent lots of photos and videos throughout the stay, so I could see my dog was happy and relaxed. My dog also loved her large garden! I highly recommend Namita to anyone looking for a kind and trustworthy dog sitter.

James was fantastic. For our first international trip, James made sure to keep me updated anout my two dogs especially when we had an unexpected vet requirement right before drop off. I appreciated all the pictures and look forward to booking with him again in the future!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
