After having never boarded Rummy in someone else's home I was a bit anxious but after conversing with Kane and then taking Rummy and seeing where he was staying those worries evaporated. Rummy settled in straight away. Kane kept me updated a couple of times a day and asked what my preference would be for the number of updates which I thought was very kind. When picking Rummy up he was pleased to see me but I could tell he'd had a great time. I have a very content dog and will 100% be using Kane in the future.”

When I arrived to drop Doris off to my embarrassment within 10 minutes she was sick not once but twice on the living room floor, I couldn't believe it but both Billie and her partner were chilled about it, they understand Bulldogs which definitely helped. Throughout the time Billie texted me photos and messages about how my dog had settled in nicely and how Doris didn't like her partners guitar playing which I found hilarious and so did they (I think). If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee.
