“Sarah and her daughter were absolutely wonderful with our pug!! Providing us pictures everyday and they have a great park near their house where Luna was able to play! Highly recommend!!”

“Our toy poodle, Maui has been with Hayley for 17 days and she has been amazing the whole time. I had updates every single day, lots of photos and videos and she just loved him and took care of him like it was her own. I was very happy and I definitely recommend Hayley to anyone who likes a pet sitter who goes the extra mile.”

“Evellin is great and clearly loves to be around dogs. Ernie settled in quickly, was walked daily and well cared for, and I could tell he enjoyed his holiday too! We had regular updates and a few pictures, which was very much appreciated. Highly recommended!”

“This was the first time I’ve left my puppy overnight and I was apprehensive. Linda calmed me on our initial meeting and when it came to leaving her. She kept me updated and sent lovely photos. Paisley was extremely well cared for and spoilt with attention. I would certainly ask Linda to look after Paisley again and would highly recommend her to all.”

“Thank you to Jakub’s lovely family for looking after Toby so well. They are experienced and flexible, it was easy and worry free leaving our dog with them, we appreciated the regular updates and know Toby was treated like one of the family. I will definitely rebook Jakub in the future if we need to go away without Toby. Highly recommended. Thank you.”

“Ayesha was absolutely amazing. She stepped in and accepted our booking for a 2-night overnight stay with less than 24 hours’ notice after another sitter cancelled at the last minute, which was such a relief. Our dog has separation anxiety and usually struggles being left with new people, but from the moment we dropped him off it was clear he was in safe, caring hands. Even after a difficult first night, Ayesha handled everything so patiently and professionally, and he settled really well the following day. She kept us updated throughout with regular messages, videos, and photos, which really put our minds at ease. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate sitter.”

“Wonderful family to look after your dog! We Had lots of updates and our dog Terry made himself at home with Sarah and family very quickly! In fact I’m pretty sure he copped a strop when we bought him home because hes been missing his little friend Rudi. Thank you so much for having him, would definitely recommend and would definitely use again 🙂”

“Carla and Jim looked after our dog Mila for us, they are really friendly & professional. They welcomed Mila into their home with their dog Marlow and she couldn’t have settled better. Carla and Jim looked after Mila perfectly, they sent us regular updates and photos of how Mila was getting on, so whilst we were away we knew that Mila was safe and happy. We would highly recommend Carla and Jim, they are caring, kind, thoughtful and really accommodating. We will definitely be using Carla and Jim again as we feel completely happy and safe leaving our dogs with them. Thank you again x”

“Phoebe had a lovely time with Jan and Bruce, They took time to get to know her and I was able to enjoy my week away knowing that she was in safe hands and being very well looked after. From the regular updates and videos I could see that she was happy and relaxed 🐾 We will be repeat customers 😍 We”

“Eszter has taken amazing care of Sadie this weekend. Loved all the pictures of sadie and her dog together ❤️ so very cute together. She sent lots of updates letting me know how Sadie was. Made me feel very relaxed and reassured knowing Sadie was in excellent hands. Will definitely use her again ❤️”

“Many thanks Jodie for looking after Daisy so well. We really appreciated the photos and videos you sent us while we were away and felt completely secure that you would keep her safe and sound which was of course really important to us. We would absolutely leave Daisy with you again.”

“We have never left our cockerpoo off with anyone but family! but Stacey was brilliant. Oliver had a lovely time with Stacey’s family, he loves children and other dogs so he was in his element! Thank you for giving us a worry free break where we knew Oliver was in good hands by receiving photos and messages throughout the stay. 10/10 service would highly recommend. Stacey also took this booking very last minute with very quick responses which is very much appreciated! Thank you for looking after Bobby !”

About: I've been around dogs my whole life and have experience caring for family dogs. Looking after dogs has always come naturally to me, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with them, whether that's going for walks, playing, feeding, or providing companionship. I understand the importance of keeping pets safe, happy, and comfortable while their owners are away. You can trust that your dog will be cared for with patience, attention, and the same love I'd give my own family pets. I’m currently working part time. I’m available all day Mondays, from 1pm Tuesdays, all day until 4pm Wednesdays, all day until 5pm Thursdays, all day Fridays, from 3pm Saturdays and all day Sundays. I may have things planned on the weekends but I will put that on my calendar in advance. I am also starting college in September to do dog grooming so Friday timings may change! I have a fenced garden which is big enough to throw a ball and a have a play. I also have a dog who would love to have a playmate come round and keep her company! I make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while in my care. Whether in my home or the owner's home, I follow their usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any specific care instructions. I provide plenty of attention, companionship, and exercise, while ensuring pets have a clean, secure environment. I understand that every pet is different, so I take the time to learn their individual needs and personality to help them feel comfortable in my home.
“My Golden Retriever puppy had a wonderful stay with Jess and was very happy and serene when I picked him up. Jess sent me regular updates and took my puppy on lots of walks. I'm looking forward to organising another sitting.”

“We were able to take Bailey for a pre-visit and happily went when it was time for us to go. The handover and pick-up was very easy and the family clearly love their pets. We would happily leave bailey with Kayleigh again.”

“Oakley has some quirks and Sarah managed these brilliantly, he looked very comfortable and happy. More than happy with everything Sarah did looking after Oakley for us, and would highly recommend! Thank you so much Sarah, it was lovely to know he was being so well looked after and seeing him enjoying his little self!”

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
