“Our toy poodle, Maui has been with Hayley for 17 days and she has been amazing the whole time. I had updates every single day, lots of photos and videos and she just loved him and took care of him like it was her own. I was very happy and I definitely recommend Hayley to anyone who likes a pet sitter who goes the extra mile.”

“This was the first time for Bess to stay away from home after being with us as a rescue throughout Lockdown and we were worried as to how she would be but we needn’t have worried. Linda is a very experienced greyhound owner and gave her lots of love and attention . Although it was only for 2 nights it was great to get photos and a message from Linda too. I am sure that next time Bess will be happy to stay with Linda again! It is so nice to have peace of mind when your “fur baby” is left in such capable hands!”

“Thank you agan for looking after Cookie. Caring, loving home. Looked after her like real family. Can't thank enough you guys. Will use again and will recommend you to anyone who wants a great dog sitter.”

We had lots of pupdates with pictures and could see our fur baby was really cared for. We will definitely be using these lovely people again and would highly recommend them.”

“Janet and Bruce are absolutely brilliant! They took care of my two mixed-breed ladies for one night. They took them on lots of walks and gave them all the attention and affection they needed to feel calm and at ease. I felt completely at peace knowing my dogs were in such caring hands. I highly recommend Janet and Bruce to anyone looking for trustworthy, attentive pet sitters!”

“It was my first time using Eszter and she was brilliant. She came round to my house to meet the dogs beforehand. My dogs are rescue and unfortunately were unsettled during the night (absolutely no fault of Eszter) but she reassured me that this can happen occasionally. I was sent lots of photos during their stay and I felt they were very well looked after. Would definitely recommend this lady”

“Alba loved her stay with Maria, and we loved knowing she was being so well looked after while we were away! Maria provided pictures and updates throughout and Alba looked so happy in every one. 10/10 would recommend :)”

About: I've been around dogs my whole life and have experience caring for family dogs. Looking after dogs has always come naturally to me, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with them, whether that's going for walks, playing, feeding, or providing companionship. I understand the importance of keeping pets safe, happy, and comfortable while their owners are away. You can trust that your dog will be cared for with patience, attention, and the same love I'd give my own family pets. I’m currently working part time. I’m available all day Mondays, from 1pm Tuesdays, all day until 4pm Wednesdays, all day until 5pm Thursdays, all day Fridays, from 3pm Saturdays and all day Sundays. I may have things planned on the weekends but I will put that on my calendar in advance. I am also starting college in September to do dog grooming so Friday timings may change! I have a fenced garden which is big enough to throw a ball and a have a play. I also have a dog who would love to have a playmate come round and keep her company! I make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while in my care. Whether in my home or the owner's home, I follow their usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any specific care instructions. I provide plenty of attention, companionship, and exercise, while ensuring pets have a clean, secure environment. I understand that every pet is different, so I take the time to learn their individual needs and personality to help them feel comfortable in my home.
“Loki was so well looked after! He loves Tom and his family, and is always excited when we turn into their road. Tom sends updates regularly so that we don't worry. Can't thank them enough.”

“Dolly had such a good time she literally didn’t want to come home and just went over to stare at her new bff Trixie longingly instead of being wildly excited to see me as I hoped 😂 Rachel and Jason were excellent with her, she had all the beds (human included) to choose from, and many lovely walks and adventures, communication was excellent throughout, I received many pics and vids which was so reassuring to know she was having such a great time! Even received a lovely diary of her stay at the end! Can’t fault in any way, will 100% return next time I need a sitter, thank you so much Rachel Jason and Trixie!”

“My Golden Retriever puppy had a wonderful stay with Jess and was very happy and serene when I picked him up. Jess sent me regular updates and took my puppy on lots of walks. I'm looking forward to organising another sitting.”

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
