“Sandra went above and beyond when our train was delayed meaning we would struggle to pick up the dogs on time and she drove the 30 mins each way to drop them off at my daughter’s house. Both dogs seemed to have enjoyed their time with Sandra. Such a shame she is over an hour away from my home.”

“It's been the 1st time of ever using this kind of service Dainora has been amazing, I was able to notice that Sasha had an amazing time with them, she never showed any kind of anxiety. I'm definitely be using her services again and will highly recommend it to anyone who needs it”

“This was our first time using a dog sitter, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience! From the start, communication was great, and we got daily updates with pictures and videos of him playing with the other dogs — that put us at ease knowing he was enjoying himself. He came home happy, tired, and clearly well cared for. We’ll definitely be booking again!”

“I picked Rummy up from his most recent stay with Kane. As per usual, Rummy had the best time. I don't think he wanted to leave just yet! Kane and Stephen treat Rummy as their own and I recieve daily updates when i'm away. The relief knowing my boy is safe and sound is priceless when i'm on holiday. For me, Kane is the only option outside of family that I would consider when I need someone to have Rummy.”

“Ralph had a lovely time with Lisa family, he got on really well with Maggie! Lisa was really good to send photos and messages to keep us updated throughout his stay which make you feel less stressed about your doggy away days ! I would highly recommend using Lisa dog caring service! We’ll definitely be booking again !”

“Carla and Jim looked after our dog Mila for us, they are really friendly & professional. They welcomed Mila into their home with their dog Marlow and she couldn’t have settled better. Carla and Jim looked after Mila perfectly, they sent us regular updates and photos of how Mila was getting on, so whilst we were away we knew that Mila was safe and happy. We would highly recommend Carla and Jim, they are caring, kind, thoughtful and really accommodating. We will definitely be using Carla and Jim again as we feel completely happy and safe leaving our dogs with them. Thank you again x”

“Our dog jack stayed with Tom and his family for a weekend, Jack was recovering from an operation which hadn't healed very well and needed medication. Tom looked after him extremely well and gave us lots of updates putting us at ease. Jack seemed extremely settled with him. We will definitely be asking Tom to look after Jack again when we're away I'm the future. Couldn't be happier”

“Katie was fantastic, her communication throughout was brilliant, she was very reassuring as this was kato's first time away from home we was regularly updated with pictures with how he was getting on, Katie's dog Kali is a beautiful dog and was so good with Kato considering he is only a puppy, her expertise and experience with dogs is clear to see, would strongly recommend booking with Katie, you won't be disappointed!”

“We left our teenager Saluki cross (Remy) in Gerrard’s very capable hands over a weekend. He was attentive to Remy’s needs, taking him out regularly for exercise and excursions around London. He also provided regular updates with photos and videos of all the fun they were having, keeping us at ease. We’d love to book with Gerrard again in future!”

“Shaun and his family looked after my dog so well - he had a wonderful time. They are very caring and they were very happy to walk and play with my dog. I am very grateful and I will certainly be calling on them again. Thank you!”

“Ruby had a lovely stay with Evellin over a couple of days. She had lots of walks and was a very happy dog when I came to collect her and Evellin was very kind and caring. I would definitely book her in again when the opportunity arises and would thoroughly recommend her. Sally”

“Cheo's first overnight stay with little Pumpkin at Ayesha's. So welcoming and friendly, Ayesha's ok too!!😉x Feedback during her stay assured us she was happy with her new playmate, he's just a youngster at the moment but she's still very lively and full of energy overload. We were assured that she knows to be gentle with him though, so all good. Anyway, see you both soon. Love and kisses 💕x”

“Mandy was amazing and I would have no hesitation in recommending. The only challenge was the dogs didn’t appear to be as excited as they normally are when I return which speaks volumes! I also really appreciated the regular updates, photos and videos.”

“Right from the start of my enquiry to booking Sarah was a pleasure to deal with! My dog had a lovely time and I got daily updates and pictures!! I can’t recommend Sarah enough and will definitely book with her again! Thank you Sarah and Family!”

About: I have just said farewell to my 15 year old Springer Spaniel and whilst I am not yet ready for a new companion I would love to look after your dog whilst you're on holiday. I recently retired and so available to take care of your dog all day, every day. I am used to walking 5+ miles a day and your pet will get at least 3 walks per day (if required/heat permits) and will be rarely left alone (if Sitting/boarding/day care). I have a fenced garden at the bottom of a quiet cul de sac, and live nearby a large orchard for safe (on lead) walks. Crate and dog bed available and covers on furniture if cuddles are required. I can accommodate 2 dogs from the same family at my home. I will decline bookings if we already have a dog with me.

Where to start! Migle is a lovely, friendly, and warm person. I've never left my dog Jess, with anyone but family members. This was a big deal for me to trust someone else with her for 4 days and she put me at ease, kept me constantly updated with photos and videos. Jess was settled and super happy which made me feel so comfortable. I will 100% be using Migle again in the future.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
