“Maxie was great with our rescue, he struggles with anyone outside of his pack and Maxie understood this, she gave him the space he needed and tried some positive reinforcement with him! Although he was still too shy we felt so comfortable leaving him with her!”

“Leah has looked after my dogs for the last 2 weeks. I had such a lovely time knowing that they were well taken care of and happy. I had regular pupdates, including photos and videos to show that my dogs were having a great time. I also came home to clean bedding and towels and clean home”

About: A former veterinarian now clinical animal behaviour student at the University of Lincoln with 10+ years of pet care experience across multiple species. Experience with petsitting and providing medical care to animals before the start of my veterinary career then moved to a dedicated veterinary practice for the last 8 years. I love being around animals and just watching and caring for them brings me so much joy! Through my recent education, have developed a better understanding of pet and this aids my motivation to be a pet sitter as I feel like with my experience and knowledge, I would make the experience for the pet wholesome and pleasurable and this in turn would help pet owners to be at easy that their pet is in good hands. I consider myself friendly, open and honest when it comes to my interactions with the pet owners and believe it is important to keep clear communication between us while also making sure they get timely updates and pictures of their pets. I understand this even more as I myself have had pets all through my life and even seeing a photo of them can bring me so much joy. Currently, I own 2 senior dogs, 1 rabbit and a newt back home but in the past I have also owned cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, fishes and birds. I currently live on rent in a house with a dog so I cannot keep animals in my accomodation so would be looking to exclusively pet sit through overnight stays or drop-in visits. I can provide overnight stays on all days. Drop in visits through the day, all days of the week. Walks included in visits usually but would require a trial walk before the visit. I cannot bring pets in my accomodation. At a pet owner's home I can follow any practices the pet is used to whether it is being left in a crate or a specific area of the house before I leave. I can also provide medical care and follow routine and specific medical instructions if needed. I also accommodate requests for watering plants and any other specific house care instructions if within my capacity. I am adaptable and resourceful with my methods and would make any experience for the pet a positive one with keeping comfort and happiness as a priority. I also find it very important that the pet's routine should be as similar to what the owner's would normally do if they were home making it minimally stressful for the pet.
“Highly recommend Miriam for overnight pet sitting! She took great care of our golden retriever, took him out every day to play fetch, and kept us informed with photos/videos and daily updates.”

About: I’m a true dog lover, if there is a party I’m the first to sit with a dog and have a comfortable chat, and pat. I was very fortunate to have 17 years with my first baby, a miniature schnauzer, who I adored. The last 5 years of his life required a lot of extra care due to heart problems, and extreme sensitivity to most food. That being said, I’m good at giving medication, and have the extra patience and perseverance to make sure the dog has his proper medication in a calm, loving way. Before my dog was poorly, he was a high energetic gentleman, who loved his 3-4 walks a day. I through enjoy a pets company and like them to feel comfortable, and pampered when in my care. I am the first to volunteer to furbaby sit if any of my friends are going away, and have asked friends if I could borrow their dogs for a nice walk. I currently work remotely (at home during the day) and have two young children in their first years of school. Working from home lets me be a companion with your pet, with breaks for play, breaks in the outdoor garden area, and a nice walk (or two). I have a small high stoned wall garden with a patch of grass, and I always walk with a lead when on public pathways, usually in quiet neighbourhoods, or public parks.

“Monika was great. Met up prior to a house sit and she is lovely and friendly. The cats warmed to her and I was kept up to date as to there progress over the weekend. I would happily have her back to look after my fur babies. Thank you Monika!”

“Yet again, Bik did a great job looking after our boy. Excellent updates through the week, and we came home to a happy dog and looked after home. It really helps put our minds at rest knowing he's been looked after (including getting roast chicken treats!)”

“Elizabeth and Kaelin went above and beyond when looking after my old lady especially when it was their first time looking after her and at short notice. She had a poorly claw and cone on and I was concerned they may not feel comfortable cleaning her paw. They sent me several updates with pictures and videos which was lovely. Upon my return they have stripped and remade the bed, left the house spotless and even bought me some milk so I could have a cuppa after my late flight! Would highly recommend and will be using again!”

“Harriet was wonderful with Luna and Luna loved her. Luna was extremely well looked after and Harriet obviously loves dogs and enjoys her time with them. Harriet also looked after our house including putting the bins out at the appropriate time and everything was left in excellent order. I would thoroughly recommend Harriet to pet sit in their own homes. I would be very confident to have her come to Luna sit again.”

About: I’ve grown up with all kinds of animals, but dogs are my absolute favourite. I have taken care of my own dogs, but friends and neighbours also rely on me to take care of their pets. I always make sure to account for the needs of the pets in my care, whether they need a walk, a bathroom break, or a tummy rub. I also have a supportive family that also loves dogs. The dogs in my care have a totally supportive environment. Pets in my care always have priority. I will only agree to take care of dogs if I know that I can put them first. I have a fenced garden and a supportive family. Dogs will have access to most of the house - wherever they feel most comfortable. It is a non-smoking house. The stairs can be dog-proofed if required.
About: I have bred 2 healthy and angelic flat coat retrievers, and have cared for many dogs. Put simply, I think dogs are THE BEST! Have a natural ability to develop good relationships with our four-legged friends. I have achieved Level 4 certificate in professional pet sitting, dog walking and dog daycare. Leaving your dog with me will not only offer care, but will be mentally stimulated, receive much attention, and be adored. You will of course receive regular updates with pictures. I can offer your family member constant care, and am almost always free to do so. Developing relationships with dogs comes as second nature to me. There are few dog breeds that I have not experienced caring for, and am confident handling larger dogs. I do not have any pets at my new London home. My two flat coat retrievers, Fleur (mother) and Bridie (daughter) are being looked after by my parents and running free around the fields of Somerset!

About: I have a degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare from Hartpury University. I also have 2 dogs and 3 cats so I have experience dog and cat sitting and dog walking. “Maggie was so lovely - she came to meet the dogs before looking after them! Great communication and the doggies loved her!! Thank you so much for taking care of them xx”

“Charlotte has been amazing, she kept us up to date with photos and msgs of Bailey. This is the first time we have left him with someone other than family, he was fussy and happy when Charlotte arrived and was the same when we came home. We would definitely use Charlotte again!! Thank you for the wonderful care you gave our pup.”

About: Hi all, My name is Raquel and I am Canine Behaviourist. I have my small Business called Treat and Trail - Canine Wellness where I offer training along other services. In addition, I worked as an assistant Canine Behaviourist at Fern Ember Dog Behaviourist. My approach follows the Thinking-Dog method, build around making all pups feel comfortable, calm and connected. The idea behind this is all about the dog’s wellbeing, their safety and comfort. I previously worked as a dog walker during my time as a student, specialising in high-energetic dogs, tailoring walks to their needs and combining running sessions with enrichment activities. I owned different breeds and temperaments, from puppies to adults and seniors, including reactive dogs. Furthermore, I am comfortable with big boisterous dogs, small fearful dogs or socially anxious dogs. All of them deserve to enjoy a caring space with free of judgement where their only concern is about how much fun and care will receive. I have full availability and can take care of your canine companions. I own my home and I only share it with my two-years-old staffy cross, Freya. We are big adventure explorers and love finding muddy walks, climbing, swimming, running and jumping obstacles. I completely understand how nerve-racking it is to leave your dog with a stranger, either for an hour or a night. For this reason, my approach would always be to include a free of charge meet and greet with the dog parents, take a walk in the area together and discuss all your concerns. My priority is for your dog and yourself to feel relaxed and trust that your dog is in good hands. Additionally, I am fully insured and DBS checked. I have a fenced garden with lovely views to the dog park. My dog, Freya, and I are less than 10 minutes to the common, and we are ready for an adventure, as mentioned. If your dog is staying a night, we will need to prearrange a meeting with my dog, Freya and trial night to understand if your dog feels comfortable and wants social interactions. If booking my services as a dog-walker, I will take your dog individually if requested.
“Abigail was absolutely amazing with our Labrador Paddy over New Years Eve while we went to a wedding. She was super responsive and we felt very reassured by all the photos we were sent of their time together. She stayed in our house for us so Paddy wasn’t unsettled and she left everything perfectly tidy and neat. Thank you!”

Harriet was wonderful with Luna and Luna loved her. Luna was extremely well looked after and Harriet obviously loves dogs and enjoys her time with them. Harriet also looked after our house including putting the bins out at the appropriate time and everything was left in excellent order. I would thoroughly recommend Harriet to pet sit in their own homes. I would be very confident to have her come to Luna sit again.

Again fabulous from Miriam G. Sadly we didn't see her this time but had messaged during the time. Lexie was very happy. Lexie had plenty of exercise as well. Great service from Miriam and the house was spot on. I just texted her when we landed and said we be back in an hour but get on your way. Definitely will use Miriam again when the need arises Julian and Lexie
We would highly recommend Leah! We have 3 cats and 3 dogs, who Leah cared for and walked while we were away. Leah ensured we had photos and updates daily. We have an elderly dog who struggles to settle but he, and the rest of the animals, were settled, happy and content on our return. Thank you, Leah!

Christy house sat for us and looked after Piglet and Pumba our 2 sausage dogs. She was super responsive when booking and looked after the boys so well - sending updates and taking them for lovely walks which they enjoyed. She also watered the indoor plants and put our chickens to bed going above and beyond. She and her partner left the house in an immaculate condition and the boys were both well looked after. We will definitely be using Christy again and highly recommend.

Anya was fab!! House sat our 10 year old jackapoo. Anya came and met us all a few days beforehand and was very calm and relaxed with Poppy. Poppy seems to have had a lovely time while we were away and has been spoiled. Anya bought some treats and left them for her. Would recommend Anya to anyone and will definitely use her again.

Ellie was an absolute delight to work with. Came and saw our pets before the stay and looked after them and the house and all was good. We were able to enjoy our daughter's wedding with full peace of mind. Would heartily recommend Ellis to anyone wanting pet cover- thanks Ellie!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Lincoln walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lincoln choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
