“Our 2 Cockapoos were so well looked after by Lindsey and Karl. They settled quickly and we got lots of updates whilst we were away. Lindsey and Karl stepped in at the last minute after a new sitter cancelled last minute and we are so grateful they did. Would highly recommend them both as our lovely dogs can be quite discerning but they loved their stay.”

“Emma has been amazing with Wilbur our 9 month old pup. We were extremely worried about our first time leaving him but after our first visit to meet Emma we knew he completely in safe hands! Emma made sure we had regular updates and lots of photos and has really made him one of her own this last few days! Big thankyou Emma and family! X”

“Thank you Antonia for looking after Harvey once again - he loves coming to stay with you and always seems so happy and relaxed in the pupdate photos and when I pick him up. Your pupdates are much appreciated and give me great peace of mind. A big thank you ... I'm sure Harvey is counting down the days until his next exciting home from home holiday with you 😁🐕🐾”

“Zuzanna was lovely, she wanted to know my Dogs routine, needs etc my dog is special needs and Zuzanna was able to support Max and he settled well with her. I would definitely book Zuzanna again and recommend her.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better people to look after our dog, Layla. From the very beginning, it was clear that she was in caring, capable, and genuinely loving hands. Caroline and Andrew took the time to understand Layla’s routine, personality, and little quirks, which made a huge difference. We received regular updates, photos, and messages that gave us complete peace of mind while we were away—it was obvious Layla was happy, relaxed, and well cared for. Layla wasn’t just “looked after”—she was treated like part of the family. We’re incredibly grateful and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the couple to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, attentive, and truly passionate about dogs. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of Layla—we will definitely be booking again!❤️”

“Our dog, Isla, has just had her first overnight stay with Joe and Helen. First impressions are excellent. Both Joe and Helen are very experienced in looking after dogs with quirks! Photos were shared during her stay and it was obvious from these that Isla was very relaxed and had made herself at home. We will definitely book Joe and Helen again. Huge thanks 😊”

“Archie had a lovely time with Jessica and Jonah and their dog Hula. It was a last minute booking but that wasn’t a problem. Jessica sent regular updates and photos and I know Archie was in very good hands. A lovely couple who genuinely care for their four-legged lodgers! Will definitely use again next time. Thank you so much!”

“100% will book again! Both dogs was amazing while there, normally my pup luna is a bit shy but she really took to and was happy while there! Loved how many pictures I was sent and response time! When they looked after them it was my wedding day and we was unsure about leaving the dogs but honestly we felt 100% happy and comfortable doing so and our wedding day was so relaxed with us knowing our dogs was safe and looked after!”

“This was our first time using Rover but we are extremely happy with the care our dog recieved from Neil and his daughter. Neil sent us updates throughout the day and was very kind when I had messed up the booking! Definitely recommend.”

“Barney has stayed with Alastrina several times now, and as always, her service is absolutely fantastic. I can’t recommend her highly enough as a dog sitter—she truly goes above and beyond!”

“Annette and Jamie could not be any more reassuring or lovely. My 6 month pup Rascal instantly felt at home and confident. Both clearly know so much about dogs and their lovely yorkshire terrier Tinker was very kind to share his toys. We feel so much happier knowing we can go on holiday soon and he's had some day care and trial overnight stays somewhere he will be clearly given so much attention and care. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Annette or Jamie. Thank you for making a busy time that little bit easier. 😊”

“After Sarah agreed to look after Henry. We went to meet her and her husband Bob. Henry took an instant liking to both. We went back for a second meet, Henry ran straight upto them and into the house and made himself at home. I had no doubts what so ever leaving him with Sarah and Bob. Sarah sent photos of Henry, he looked happy and at home. I can't recommend Sarah enough to look after your dog. He will be so well looked after. Will certainly be booking Henry in again. Thank you very much Sarah and Bob for my worry free weekend knowing Henry was with you.”

“Sophie was amazing. Looked after our Cacau as if she were her own. It made leaving her so much easier when going away on our holiday abroad. She kept us up to date with pictures. Cacau had a great time with Lily and all the family. Thank you so much! ?”

“Highly reccomend Michael and we will certainly be going back. My Luna is a very excitable, high drive dog who is not for everybody but Micheal handled it amazingly. Couldn't be happier with the care that was given.”

“Linnet was, again, fabulous with Bear - he was so excited to see her again which tells you everything about how well she cares for pups in her care! Frequent photo/video updates too. If you want a sitter who will treat your fur baby like their own then look no further :)”

About: I have grown up around dogs and regularly have my mum’s dog to stay for up to 2 weeks at a time. I trained my family dog when she was a puppy and continue to recap her commands with her. I also have looked after my friends cats when she goes away by checking in a few times a day to feed and play with the cats and ensure they get time to go outside. I am a hybrid worker so have the flexibility to wfh. My hours are flexible so I can ensure I take dogs on long walks during my lunch break and that they are fed and played with at periods throughout the day. I have a fenced garden with plenty of grass and space to go to the toilet and run around. I live at the end of a cul-de-sac so very safe area with no cars passing by and a main road is a bit of a walk away. I allow pets on the sofa and have a plenty of blankets to cover furniture with so don’t mind them jumping up.

Colin and his family was very nice and flexible, we needed to drop Luna off a bit earlier and there were no issues! Colin was sending a lot of updates and photos, we knew she’s in good hands, she’s had fab time!! Thank you again, we will definitely book you again! 😊

This is the first time we have used someone other than family to look after Luna so we were a little worried if she would settle but we have been extremely pleased with Brandy and Family who took excellent care of Luna with regular updates and photos,We will definitely be very happy for Luna to stay with Brandy again and are hoping to book with them again very soon

Sara was absolutely amazing with my dog! She looked after her for 12 days while I was on holiday and treated her like her own. I got regular updates and photos, which made me feel so comfortable knowing my dog was happy and well cared for. She was also really understanding when I was late picking up due to traffic. My dog came home relaxed and happy — I couldn’t recommend Sara more!

We was anxious as a family with the prospect of having to find a place for our fur babies to board for a weekend. However our meet and greet with Michelle really put us at ease. She was very welcoming to us and Oreo and Myla from the moment she opened her door to us. The dogs went in very wild as If it was there home. Myla embarrassed us with giving a present to Michelle as soon as we got there and Michelle was so not fazed by it. When the weekend arrived for us to leave them there they went in happy and excited happy to bw back. Michelle let us know that they had settled well and where happy. I would definitely use again the dogs seemed as though they where looked after very well.

It was a relief finding Tasmin, Strudel had the best time and I was kept up-to-date each day with pics, videos and messages on Strudel's stay. I felt very confident and happy that Tasmin took great care of Strudel and made her feel like one of the family! THANK YOU TAZ!! 🙏🏼😍

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
