“Stanley our gorgeous Yorkipoo had his first little holiday with Andrea and thoroughly enjoyed himself. He settled straight away which is testimony to Andrea's love of dogs. We will definitely be booking again and would highly recommend.”

“Millie was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She replied to all my messages quickly, and was very thorough to make sure that Maggie's routine wasn't too disrupted and her stay was as comfortable as possible. She was very reassuring of my worries about leaving a crazy puppy with someone new for her first night away from home, and even met up with us beforehand so that Maggie could meet her and see the house before she went to stay overnight. She sent regular updates and pictures throughout the stay, and I could see that she was really settled and having a great time getting lots of walks love and attention! I would definitely recommend Millie, and Mags can't wait until I next go away so that she can go and visit her new best friend❤️”

About: As a pet owner, it is important to provide your pet with proper care and attention. This includes ensuring they have a balanced diet, regular exercise, and access to fresh water. Grooming, including brushing and bathing, helps keep them clean and healthy. Providing mental stimulation through playtime and toys is important for their well-being. Lastly, showing them love, care, and affection contributes to their happiness. I will tailor their care based on their specific needs. I'm currently working part-time, so I'll have plenty of time to play with your pups! I'm available for boarding on weekends, and weekdays talk to me then we can arrange time. As a pet care provider, safety, trust and the environment are my top priorities when caring for animals in both my home and the pet owner's home. Here are some key aspects of how I look after their well-being: 1. Security: I create a safe environment by pet-proofing my home or a designated area in a pet owner's home. This includes removing any hazardous items, securing electrical wiring, and ensuring there are no harmful plants or substances within reach. 2. Trust: Building trust with animals is essential. I take the time to get to know them, understand their needs and provide them with a calm and nurturing environment. I use positive reinforcement techniques to reinforce good behavior and build a strong bond with it. 3. Environment: I strive to provide animals with a comfortable and stimulating environment. This includes providing comfortable bedding, access to clean water and a designated place to eat. I also provide toys and engage in interactive play to keep them mentally and physically stimulated. 4. Regular exercise: I provide animals with regular exercise tailored to their specific needs. This may include walking, playing and other physical activities to keep them active and healthy. 5. Feeding: I follow the pet owner's instructions regarding feeding schedule and dietary requirements. I ensure that meals are delivered on time and that food is properly stored to maintain freshness and prevent contamination. 6. Hygiene: I maintain good hygiene by regularly cleaning and sanitizing the pet's living area, including its bedding, litter box or other designated area. I also follow personal hygiene rules, e.g. washing my hands before and after contact with animals. 7. Communication: I maintain open and transparent communication with the pet owner. This includes providing updates on your pet's welfare, any concerns or observations, and promptly responding to any questions or requests you may have. Overall, my goal is to provide animals with a safe, comfortable and loving environment, whether that is my home or the pet owner's home. Their well-being is my priority and I make every effort to ensure that they are happy and healthy while in my care.
“Julie and her family took wonderful care of Conkers. Before he stayed we did a meet and greet where Julie really took the time to ensure she knew all about Conkers and his needs. I received daily updates of him looking happy and comfortable and he was well tired out and relaxed when I picked him up. I would absolutely book in with Julie again.”

“100% recommend Paul, our lab Ember was exceptionally well looked after and had a great time. I received lots of updates so I always knew how Ember was doing. Paul's dogs Thea and Bently are lovely and the three of them played really well together, I think Ember may be missing their company now. Paul is prompt with responding, and gives them a home away home, we will absolutely be booking again for future trips.”

“Chael has stayed with Hayley on previous occasions and as always he has been made to feel very welcome and has had a great time. Hayley is always our first choice when Chael needs a sitter, and Chaels first choice too”

“We are so happy we chose Anitha to look after Yumi for us for 5days. We have never left her before, and wanted her to stay in a loving home. Anitha and Raj certainly provided that, along with thier 2 fluffy boys oreo and teddy 🥰. They provided regular updates with photos and videos, wich was very reassuring for us. Yumi was having so much fun, we stopped worry about if she was OK, and instead we wondered if we would get her home 🤣. We can't thank them enough and we will definitely be using Anitha again for any future trips. And possible play dates.”

About: Hi, we’re Toby & Chloe. We have taken care of dogs beforehand and Chloe has had dogs all of her childhood, we have a very large garden with plenty of space to run around and a very friendly family! Chloe is always around on weekends, so it's two carers for the price of one. We work through the week and are happy to have dogs over the weekend. We are a very loving couple who want dogs in the future but don't have a stable schedule yet through the week. We love walking them and enjoy sharing our weekends with furry friends! Our home is surrounded by walls and gates so is safe for dogs to run and play freely, we have a very large garden and there is a quarry to walk to and let them off their lead nearby. We are always around on weekends so can make our schedule to suit if we have a furry friend or not.
“Bear had the best time with Helena- she catered to all his needs and gave him lots of love and snuggles! Communication was great also and lots of picture updates. Will deffo use again when needed. Thanks Helena x”

“This is the first time we used Rover or in fact left our boys with anyone other than family, and I have to say Adam was brilliant. He let us visit for a meet and greet which immediately put us at ease and it meant the boys were somewhat familiar with their surroundings when we left them with Adam a few months later. During their stay Adam sent us pictures and videos aswell as little updates on what they’d been up to. I would 100% recommend.”

“Our two dogs loved staying with Sara, they seemed very comfortable from the minute they were introduced and throughout. Sara was great with updating us and we would recommend her services :) thanks again! 🐾”

“100% will book again! Both dogs was amazing while there, normally my pup luna is a bit shy but she really took to and was happy while there! Loved how many pictures I was sent and response time! When they looked after them it was my wedding day and we was unsure about leaving the dogs but honestly we felt 100% happy and comfortable doing so and our wedding day was so relaxed with us knowing our dogs was safe and looked after!”

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Yorkshire and the Humber may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
