“Ellie massively helped us out at relatively short notice when we really needed a sitter to pop in and check in on our kitty for a couple of days over the Christmas period. She was wonderful - really organised, easy to communicate with and highly trustworthy considering we hadn’t really had anyone pop round for drop in service before. Our cat seemed to really like her and enjoy her company - would 100% recommend and ask for her help again. Thanks so much! Xx”

“Eleanor is an amazing pet sitter. She is so kind-hearted, professional and caring. Our 2 young cats warmed up to Eleanor instantly and were really happy in her care. All their needs were met and our home was well taken care of. We received regular updates with many adorable pics and felt very assured and grateful throughout the whole experience. I highly recommend Eleanor for any of your pet sitting needs, she is so caring, trustworthy and knowledgeable.”

About: As a pet owner, it is important to provide your pet with proper care and attention. This includes ensuring they have a balanced diet, regular exercise, and access to fresh water. Grooming, including brushing and bathing, helps keep them clean and healthy. Providing mental stimulation through playtime and toys is important for their well-being. Lastly, showing them love, care, and affection contributes to their happiness. I will tailor their care based on their specific needs. I'm currently working part-time, so I'll have plenty of time to play with your pups! I'm available for boarding on weekends, and weekdays talk to me then we can arrange time. As a pet care provider, safety, trust and the environment are my top priorities when caring for animals in both my home and the pet owner's home. Here are some key aspects of how I look after their well-being: 1. Security: I create a safe environment by pet-proofing my home or a designated area in a pet owner's home. This includes removing any hazardous items, securing electrical wiring, and ensuring there are no harmful plants or substances within reach. 2. Trust: Building trust with animals is essential. I take the time to get to know them, understand their needs and provide them with a calm and nurturing environment. I use positive reinforcement techniques to reinforce good behavior and build a strong bond with it. 3. Environment: I strive to provide animals with a comfortable and stimulating environment. This includes providing comfortable bedding, access to clean water and a designated place to eat. I also provide toys and engage in interactive play to keep them mentally and physically stimulated. 4. Regular exercise: I provide animals with regular exercise tailored to their specific needs. This may include walking, playing and other physical activities to keep them active and healthy. 5. Feeding: I follow the pet owner's instructions regarding feeding schedule and dietary requirements. I ensure that meals are delivered on time and that food is properly stored to maintain freshness and prevent contamination. 6. Hygiene: I maintain good hygiene by regularly cleaning and sanitizing the pet's living area, including its bedding, litter box or other designated area. I also follow personal hygiene rules, e.g. washing my hands before and after contact with animals. 7. Communication: I maintain open and transparent communication with the pet owner. This includes providing updates on your pet's welfare, any concerns or observations, and promptly responding to any questions or requests you may have. Overall, my goal is to provide animals with a safe, comfortable and loving environment, whether that is my home or the pet owner's home. Their well-being is my priority and I make every effort to ensure that they are happy and healthy while in my care.
About: I’ve grown up with small dogs, needing the typical love and cuddles. My boyfriend has a husky so I’ve learnt more about bigger dogs who need more attention, especially a reactive husky who has bounds of energy! I am a supply teacher who needs an excuse to be out in nature more. My boyfriend lives in America and I had to come home to England temporarily, walking dogs helps close my exercise rings and to keep me sane whilst I miss him! I would care for a pet by giving them my presence. Giving them love, making sure water bowls and any food they need has been replenished and getting their energy out on walks!
“Charlotte was fantastic with our cat, Maggie - she gave us regular updates & really put our minds at ease, she can be quite a nervous cat but seemed really settled when we arrived home, like we’d never been away! Thank you Charlotte! Xx”

“I arranged for Bethany to drop in for an hour and walk our Patterdale Terrier when we were out for the day. She came to meet him a couple of days before and asked about his routine etc. She came on the day as arranged and walked him and fed him. She sent updates and asked questions regarding his food, and let us know he was all good. Thank you - very happy x”

About: Hi, I'm Luisa! I'm originally from Spain and have been living in England for almost 11 years. Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, I grew up surrounded by dogs, pigeons, parrots and more, and I currently share my home with a 10 year old cat. EXPERIENCE: I have taken care of animals from friends and family, mostly dogs, cats and rodents, but I have accrued 3 years of experience as a professional dog sitter. After stepping away for a while to focus on other jobs as a chef, sales assistant and marketing executive, I'm now back to pet sitting while I study towards a career in Psychology (for humans), although, my interest in behaviour and wellbeing also extends to animals. DOGS: I'm a dedicated self-learner. During the time I wasn't actively working as a sitter, I kept studying canine behaviour, following professionals who stay up to date with current research and apply it through positive reinforcement, a training and care approach based on rewarding good behaviour rather than punishing unwanted behaviour. I'm not a dog trainer, but this knowledge allows me to understand much better dogs' body language. OTHER INFO: - My fees can vary depending on your needs as well, costs are lower if you need more frequent visits and 60-minutes walks. Get in touch for a personalised quote! - While I'm looking after your pet, I'm also happy to keep an eye on your home. This includes watering your indoor and outdoor plants, collecting your post, and alternating lights or curtains so your home looks lived-in while you're away. All at no extra cost, just as part of the service. - I can administer basic medication, both topical and oral. - I'm able to reply to messages quickly. - Please note: I have a cat who isn't used to being around dogs, which is why I'm not able to offer overnight boarding at my own home. However, I do offer house sitting at your home. TRUST & SAFETY: Free Meet & Greet: - Before your first booking, I offer a free introductory visit so your pet (and you!) can meet me, ask any questions, and feel comfortable before we start. No pressure, no obligation. - Photos & videos included in every service, so you can see how your pet is doing. Key safety: Keys are stored securely and privately, never labelled with your name or address. I'm happy to use a key safe or smart lock if you have one, and keys are returned or securely stored between visits, whichever you prefer. Emergency protocol: If your pet needs veterinary attention and I can't reach you, I will take them to the vet myself. Insurance & DBS check: I'm currently in the process of arranging public liability insurance and a Basic DBS (background) check, both of which I consider essential for the trust this job requires. I'll update my profile as soon as these are in place. I currently work from home starting up my online business and also studying for a Psychology career, so I have a flexible schedule and can usually reply and arrange visits quickly. I'm available for drop-ins, walks, and house sitting throughout the week, including weekends, just let me know your routine and I'll adapt to it. About: Hey, I'm Hannah , and I'm passionate about caring for animals! I've grown up around pets my whole life, including dogs, cats, and even goats, thanks to my dad. While I’m just starting out as a dog walker and pet sitter, I’ve learned a lot about responsibility, patience, and how to keep animals happy and healthy. I’m reliable, enthusiastic, and excited to give your pets the love and attention they deserve while you’re away or just need to get nose deep in some work or self-care. As for cats, I grew up with a family cat who had kittens, and I’ve helped care for my friend’s cats (and dog) while she was on holiday. My aunt has two cats, and my girlfriend has a cheeky ginger cat who loves Dreamies (and always begs for more!). While I’m just getting started professionally, I have plenty of hands-on experience from growing up with animals. I’m reliable, patient, and happy to care for your feline friends, making sure they’re safe, comfortable, and loved. Let me know how I can help care for your furry friends! I'm a bit of a night owl, so don't worry if you have late or odd hours. I'm happy to fit you in whenever possible. I will make sure I familiarise myself with the layout of the house and where all important items are, will photos frequently of your pet(s).
About: Ever since I was old enough to look after our family pets I have loved doing so. Growing up I was mainly surrounded by terriers with some exposure to working collies. At the age of 23 I got my own dog, a German Pointer who I have cared and trained solely for. Weekends and evenings are going to be most suitable at the start of the new year but over the Christmas period I have more flexibility to work around your needs. I will care for your pet as you see fit and ensure to cause as little change to their routine as possible to avoid any unnecessary stress
About: *Please note I am currently unavailable throughout July due to work commitments. I will be available again from August and able to respond to any future requests from then - best wishes* I’m a new member here at Rover.com but I’m certainly not new to pet sitting or providing care to a variety of animals. I have experience in both pet sitting and house sitting; caring for animals ranging from dogs, cats, horses, exotic birds, rabbits, sheep, cattle, chickens, goats and pigs. I love to meet and care for animals of all types and I am flexible and adaptable to treat your pet in the way they need, meeting the individual requirements of your furry-friend. I hold an NVQ Level 2 in Horse Care and have previous experience of working with nervous pets. I currently work from home and for the first time in my life; have found myself with no pets at home, leaving my commitments free to care for your pet. I can be flexible to fit around your schedule/requirements and often can be available to step-in if animal care is needed last minute. Please contact me, I am happy to help and get a booking arranged. I am flexible and adaptable to provide individual care for every animal. Please contact me about any requirements your pet may have, animal care will be tailored to the needs of your pet. I am very happy to continue light training, if this is something you are working on with your pet. When house-sitting I can provide basic homecare tasks e.g. plant-watering and being at the address to receive deliveries and during my stay I will upkeep the standards of your home. I understand it can be difficult to leave your pet when you have to be separated – previously I have provided photo and text updates and video calls to pet owners to ease this situation and bring comfort, feel free to ask if you would like this to be provided. Meet & Greets can then be arranged prior to your booking, so I can understand your companion’s needs and giving opportunity to go over care instructions - so you can relax when you’re away.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Lincolnshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
