“Holly was fantastic looking after our border collie and updated us with pictures and videos. It was a super hot weekend and she even had our dog in the paddling pool with her daughter. He came back a very happy tired dog!”

“Elaine is a lovely kind woman who took care of my dog Sully at short notice. She was very reassuring and sent me daily updates on how he was doing, treating him like one of her own. Can’t thank you enough and would happily use her services again in the future”

“Matthew and Greta were very friendly with good communication from the start. We met prior to the booking so that they could get a feel for Bowie and have a chat about his needs and his character etc which put me at ease. They have a lovely home and Bowie told me that he enjoyed his stay very much. Thank you both, Charles”

“Katia and James did a great job taking care of Twix while I was away. Communication was easy—they responded quickly to messages and sent a few updates during the stay, which I appreciated as I missed her so much. They were super attentive to Twix’s needs, and Twix seemed content, calm and well looked after when I got back, which is really all I could ask for. Would definitely use them again and recommend them to others looking for a dependable and caring sitter who won’t make you nervous the whole time you’re gone.”

“Our first time using dog boarding for mollie so I was unsure and uneasy about a few things and I can 100% recommend celine and Leigh, nice and easy drop off/pick ups and so friendly. I felt at ease knowing she was being well looked after the whole time, and had lots of photos and messages updates etc. Mollie will definitely be returning for our next holiday! Thank you!❤️”

“Maria was great with communication and we left our dog in good hands for 12 days with Maria when we went abroad for a family holiday. We had the opportunity to meet Maria and her dog Bambi at their home before making the booking to ensure it was a good fit for both sides and to discuss any concerns. Received plenty of photos and updates and on returning home our boy is very happy and has been well looked after, definitely recommend and will use Marias services again if needed”

“Jennie and her partner were fantastic with our 2 girly labradoodles While I was on holiday I felt bambi and raven were safe and getting the love they needed Jennie sent me updates every day with photos which really put my mind at ease I would definitely recommend Jennie she is a caring animal sitter who puts your pets needs first We will definitely be contacting Jennie for future holidays 🐶🐶🐶🐶”

You can be sure your pet will be looked after and cared for like our own 🙂 I currently work school hours and myself and my 2 children go for an hours walk almost every night so dog walking fits in lovely with what we already do. “Alison is a lovely lady who clearly adores animals. My boy has bad separation anxiety so I was worried about leaving him overnight and away from home. After our initial meet Enzo went to stay with Alison for a few hours a handful of times to get him used to being somewhere new and with someone new. He was totally happy and relaxed with her on his smaller visits and while I was away. Alison was so accommodating and helpful and we will continue to use her services in the future.”

“We had such a great experience and felt completely at ease leaving our little Pomeranian girl for two weeks. From the very beginning, it was clear how much they genuinely care about the dogs they look after. We visited before booking so our dog could meet them first, which really helped put us at ease. Their house was very clean and felt like a safe, comfortable environment for a small dog. Communication was easy and responsive throughout our time away, and they regularly sent us photos and updates, which we really appreciated. When we picked her up, she was happy, relaxed, and clearly comfortable with them — not stressed at all. It genuinely felt like she had been treated as part of the family. Leaving your dog for an extended period isn’t easy, but they made the whole experience completely stress-free. Knowing she was happy, comfortable, and well cared for meant everything to us. We’d happily leave her with them again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to other dog owners. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“10/10 cant recommend paul enough looked after my little dog spoilt her rotten and sent updates and photos will definitely use again great pup dates and walks all the time great family and ollie dog is beautiful aswel x”

“Sarah and Gerry looked after my timid girl like she was their own. As an anxious rescue dog she takes a while to warm up to new people and it’s such a relief to know she was cared for so well by this lovely couple in their lovely home. Communication was great with pictures sent too, I will absolutely be booking again knowing my girl has a home away from home.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs since being a little child. From being puppies to adult hood I have the experience and knowledge of how dogs can behave and interact. I have experienced many different situations which has given me the knowledge and skills to be able to overcome any issues effectively. I understand how dogs may react differently depending on the situation and how to manage this. I currently work from home full time 5 days a week on weekdays. This gives me more flexibility regarding my work life balance along with my home life. I also have access to a car. In order to care for pets in the owners home I will get to know the animal and have through interactions with them in order to access their needs. Conversations with the owners will also provide me with more information in order to care for them in the best possible way.
“Tina really helped us out with having Penny whilst we were away for 2 weeks! For such a long stay and to take on a reactive and anxious dog is a lot, for everyone! Tina made us feel so at ease when taking care of Penny, we received daily updates and pictures and saw first hand after her trial stay just how much Penny loved her stay. We would absolutely recommend, this was our first time leaving Penny and we couldn’t have asked for better! Thank you so much Tina! X”

“Brilliant. Very clear communication from Amelia. Having a giant breed dog we were concerned about finding the right person to look after Bard, but we met with Amelia in advance and she put our minds at rest. Bard was so happy after staying with Amelia. She understood his needs and looked after him brilliantly. Would totally recommend to anyone.”

About: Hello I’m Jane. I live in Barnburgh, Doncaster with my husband David in a spacious home with a medium sized, secure garden that is fenced off and locked at all times. I am leaving my 9-5 office job to become a full time dog walker. I am available through the week and also at weekends. I have owned dogs my whole life and they have always been a big part of my family. At the moment I have 2 dogs; Albus, and Dot. Albus is a 2 year old cockapoo and bundle of joy, he will be joining me on most of my walks as he doesn’t leave my side. Dot is a 9 year old small lurcher and will occasionally join me but you’ll find them mostly chilling in the sun, enjoying a quiet life. I decided to become a dog walker to turn my passion for dogs into a career that I love. I have experience with a variety of breeds and personalities. Every dog is different, that’s why tailor my services to meet the unique needs of your pet. I work on building amazing bonds with the dogs I care for and trusting relationships with my clients too. I offer 1 hour dog walks as well as day care and overnight stays. Each service will begin with a free consultation with you and your dog. Whilst in my care, your dog will have access to my garden and my spacious kitchen area, which is where your dogs will sleep during overnight stays. I am happy to offer a pick up and drop off service. Please note, I will not walk more than 5 dogs at one time and will not keep more than 2 dogs overnight. I am fully insured, highly experienced, DBS checked and first aid trained. I can also offer basic dog training if requested. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends, Jane. After recently giving up my office job I am now available for all services required on a full time basis, during the week and weekends. I have secure, medium sized, locked garden that your dog will have access to. I have three dogs that are very welcoming to new pets. I also have added space to crate and/or separate if needed.

From the start of this process through to collection of my dog Wednesday, every request was met. A meet and greet was arranged and I left knowing my choice was the right one. Updates were provided as requested, leaving me with a good feel about choosing Matthew and Greta. I know when I collected Wednesday that he had been well looked after at a good family home….thank you to Matthew and Greta. John Davies.
Huge thanks to Jade for looking after our chi. She was kind reliabl and kept us updated with lovely photoswhich gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear our dog was happy and well looked after and we came home to a relaxed and content pup. We’d definitely recommend Jade and would happily book again!

Katie was very accommodating to our all of our needs regarding Milo staying with her. She kept us updated with regular updates during his stay......which was very reassuring with him being a young dog and having never stopped with anyone else. We can recommend Katie & will not hesitate to use her again in the future when the need arises.

Annabel is an absolute dream! Rufus stayed for 2 nights while we had plans, and I could tell by the photos sent that he was having such a great time and was happy and living his best life. He was so well looked after, and Annabel kept his routine perfectly. He enjoyed walks with Nala the Labrador for company too. I’d definitely recommend Annabel, and won’t hesitate to let her look after Rufus again, seeing how much he loved being there.

Amazing 🤩, perfect home for our little doggie 🐶. Kátia was able to accommodate my request at short notice after a mix up and communication was fast and friendly. Lovely lady I would 10000% recommend and will definitely use again when I need care. X thanks you Kátia xx

I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog . Madison kept me updated with photos and messages, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Yorkshire and the Humber may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
