Great service. Charlie isn't the easiest dog to look after but Meisha made us feel at ease and reassured to leave Charlie with her. He was well cared for and looked after like he was her own dog. Would definitely book with her again

Shelby and her partner were really attentive with our Daschund, Minnie. Minnie is a really needy dog and suffers from separation anxiety but settled really well with Shelby:) she was really well looked after whilst we were away for the weekend and could relax knowing Minnie was well cared for. highly recommend Shelby to care for your dogs!

We’ve definitely struck gold finding Lucy. She gladly helped us out with a last minute request and we met up for a walk and visited her home just 2 days before we needed her to look after Monty. We knew straight away that she was the perfect dog sitter for us. She is very professional and her obvious love of dogs shines through. She reassured us with photos over the 2 days and Monty came home a very happy boy. We were happy too and will definitely be dropping him off for another stay soon. We can’t recommend Lucy highly enough.

Antonia cared for our retriever x Loki and took such great care of him. From the moment we dropped him at her home we were kept informed with picture updates and felt completely reassured the whole time. She took him on long walks and he always looked so relaxed and happy. He came home very contented, if not a little sad to be back! We will 100% use Antonia again! Thank you!

Simone took excellent care of my high energy 13-month-old working line German Shepherd Storm while we were away, Storm has lead reactivity and separation anxiety but Simone handled him perfectly, even when he barked initially Simone handled it with perfect calm confidence and made him feel safe and settled. She took him for plenty of walks and kept him cool in the heat, we came back to a well taken care of comfortable happy puppy, I can’t recommend Simone enough, we will certainly be booking her again in the future! Thank you so much Simone! 😊

Many thanks to Yvonne for caring for Rosie so well over the weekend. It’s the first time Rosie has stayed there . I was nervous as Rosie is a miniature dachshund and is a real Mummy’s girl . But Yvonne invited us to her house for a couple of visits before I finally left Rosie . The stay went wonderfully, with lots of photos of Rosie having cuddles and belly rubs . Thanks Yvonne , Rosie will become a regular visitor xx

About: I have grown up with animals all my life! Mainly dogs but a lot more smaller animals too🤍 I currently have 2 of my own German shepherds which are my babies and love other doggies being around too. I work from home which means your dog will have a home away from home with us 🫶🏼 I work from home most days mainly Thursday Friday but I work flexible days! I look after family pets and they fit into mine and our dogs schedules with no issues 🤍 We have a fenced Garden which is big enough for 4 dogs and is cleaned daily! We also live in a new estate so it’s very quiet which means the dogs are never stressed with noise other than themselves 🐶 - if I am in your home I will treat it exactly how you wish and make sure your pet is happy !

About: I’ve had dogs in my life since I was 10 years old, so caring for them comes naturally to me. Over the years, I’ve experienced all stages of a dog’s life — from energetic puppies to gentle senior dogs — and I’ve learned how to adapt my care to meet their changing needs. I have a deep understanding of canine behaviour, routine, and comfort, and I take pride in providing a safe, loving environment where dogs feel relaxed and secure. I’ve cared for senior dogs with mobility issues, medication needs, and age-related health concerns, and I always approach this with patience, attentiveness, and compassion. As a healthcare professional, I’m confident in recognising subtle changes in behaviour or health, which can be especially important for older pets. I treat every dog like a member of the family, and my goal is always to give them the same love and care I give to my own Cockapoo. As a full-time professional during the week, I focus my pet care services around weekends — when I can give your dog my full attention in a calm, relaxed environment. My own Cockapoo is a big part of my daily life, so I’m used to balancing routine, exercise, and affection — and I bring that same level of care to every dog I look after. On weekends, I’m fully available for daytime sitting, walks, and overnight stays, making sure your pet feels comfortable, safe, and well looked after while you’re away or enjoying a break. I also offer occasional evening availability during the week for walks or check-ins, depending on location and my work rota. Whether I’m caring for your dog in my home or visiting them in yours, you can trust that they’ll be treated like one of the family — with a warm, secure environment and lots of tail wags guaranteed. Your dog will be welcomed into a calm, dog-friendly environment where they’re treated like one of the family. My home is clean, secure, and thoughtfully pet-proofed — with no access to hazards, and always supervised playtime. I stick to familiar routines and ensure each dog gets plenty of exercise, rest, and positive attention. I only take in a small number of dogs to ensure each one gets the love and care they deserve, alongside gentle socialisation with my Cockapoo (if appropriate). I can easily crate your dog if required.

Peppa had a lovely stay with Cat. Was reassuring that she had one to one care. Cat sent updates to ensure us that Peppa was happy. Cat is a lovely lady who we were happy to leave our precious border terrier with, who we know has her own character and can be moody at times. We have already booked with Cat again🐾❤️

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
