“Shelby and her partner were really attentive with our Daschund, Minnie. Minnie is a really needy dog and suffers from separation anxiety but settled really well with Shelby:) she was really well looked after whilst we were away for the weekend and could relax knowing Minnie was well cared for. highly recommend Shelby to care for your dogs!”

“Antonia cared for our retriever x Loki and took such great care of him. From the moment we dropped him at her home we were kept informed with picture updates and felt completely reassured the whole time. She took him on long walks and he always looked so relaxed and happy. He came home very contented, if not a little sad to be back! We will 100% use Antonia again! Thank you!”

“I cannot recommend Lucy (and Alex) highly enough. They are fantastic dog sitters, super communicative and really looked after my dog Loki during his stay. They even accommodated a very last minute booking which was a huge help for me personally. If you need a sitter in the Sheffield, Chesterfield area then definitely look them up.”

“Great service. Charlie isn't the easiest dog to look after but Meisha made us feel at ease and reassured to leave Charlie with her. He was well cared for and looked after like he was her own dog. Would definitely book with her again”

“Karen was a perfect person to care for our Border Collie, Siân. She has a wealth of experience with and understanding of dogs, but she is also very kind, welcoming and accommodating. She really took care to think what would be best for Siân. Moreover, we really enjoyed meeting Karen and wish we lived closer to be able to have her as a regular person in our and Siân's lives!”

“It's been an absolute pleasure to leave Lola with Sue, she is such a lovely lady and took such good care of Lola. We are very confident that we have found the right person to leave Lola with whenever we need to. I actually think Lola didn't want to come home. Thank you Sue”

“Many thanks to Yvonne for caring for Rosie so well over the weekend. It’s the first time Rosie has stayed there . I was nervous as Rosie is a miniature dachshund and is a real Mummy’s girl . But Yvonne invited us to her house for a couple of visits before I finally left Rosie . The stay went wonderfully, with lots of photos of Rosie having cuddles and belly rubs . Thanks Yvonne , Rosie will become a regular visitor xx”

About: Ever since a child we’ve had family dogs and cats. At one time we had 4 dogs, 12 cats, 2 horses and a 50 Holstein heifers! I love all kind of animals, wide knowledge with different breeds of dogs. I have veterinary care knowledge, and experience in dog behaviour. I’ve currently got two dogs, one cocker spaniel and one Labrador. They’re full of energy, happy and enthusiastic. That’s exactly what I love about them! I work full time on a dairy farm, available in the mornings and evenings. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I am available all day to allow dogs to board. I have two fenced/walled gardens which are thoroughly secure. I have two dogs at home, they are dog friendly and love to play. Toilet breaks are available 0-2 hours. We live on a farm, so therefore there’s endless fields to walk through safely.
“Fabiana is a fanatic host. It's clear that she pays a lot of attention to each individual dog and their needs. She took the time to get to know our dog and made sure he was introduced nicely to her own dog, home and family. Our dog had a great time and we'll be booking again with Fabiana soon!”

“Simone took excellent care of my high energy 13-month-old working line German Shepherd Storm while we were away, Storm has lead reactivity and separation anxiety but Simone handled him perfectly, even when he barked initially Simone handled it with perfect calm confidence and made him feel safe and settled. She took him for plenty of walks and kept him cool in the heat, we came back to a well taken care of comfortable happy puppy, I can’t recommend Simone enough, we will certainly be booking her again in the future! Thank you so much Simone! 😊”

“Gremlin had such a great time with Ellie and Liam. They took amazing care of him and we couldn’t be happier with how it all went. They took the time to meet him first as he can be anxious, quickly made him feel right at home and kept us updated throughout. We would definitely recommend them as sitters and would love to book Gremlin in again with them in the future!”

“Lucy had another fabulous stay with Danielle and Ryan, who she has completely fallen in love with! They absolutely cater for both her bouncy and cuddly sides, and take great care of her. Due to challenging circumstances at our end, they offered to extend Lucy's stay, which was extremely appreciated. We have already rebooked!”

“Kristel & Lewis were so welcoming, put us at ease immediately, yet most importantly went out of their way to make sure all of Bentley's needs were met, providing photos and video updates along the way, showing they truly love all animals! We can't thank her enough and will be using again when we next can't take Bentley with us. Thank you Kristel & Lewis ❤️”

“From the very beginning, Isabel and Spencer were kind, reassuring and genuinely caring. They took the time to understand Rock’s needs and treated him with so much love and patience, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It was great for Rock to have the opportunity to stay with another dog. He and Sonny got on really well, and it was lovely to know he had such good company during his stay. We’re sure Rock had a wonderful little holiday of his own! Thank you both for looking after him as if he were part of your family. We are so grateful for everything you did and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for exceptional dog sitters. We hope Rock gets to see you all again soon!”

“I had the pleasure of having Nichola look after my little Teddy for one night this past Friday, and I couldn't be more impressed with the level of care and attention he received. From start to finish, Nichola demonstrated a genuine love for animals and a commitment to ensuring Teddy's comfort and wellbeing. Nichola's communication was fabulous, providing regular updates and even sending adorable photos of Teddy enjoying his time under her care. This not only reassured me but also allowed me to relax and enjoy my time away, knowing Teddy was in capable hands. What stood out the most was Nichola's understanding Teddy's 'specific' needs (bed time water and snuggles!). She took the time to learn about his routine, dietary requirements, and favorite activities. It was evident that she went above and beyond to make Teddy feel at home. I highly recommend Nichola's dog sitting services to anyone seeking a responsible and caring pet sitter. Teddy had such a positive experience that I wouldn't hesitate to entrust Nichola with his care again in the future. Thank you, Nichola, for providing Teddy with a home away from home!”

Buddy has been to the kennels in the past when we couldn’t arrange with close family, but we had a terrible experience. Never again we said. So we began looking for the right person. Meg came to meet us and buddy on a cold icy morning, which doing so spoke volumes as she gave up her own time. Meg asked all the right questions and it was sealed when buddy leaned against Meg, which is his way of showing he trusts someone. After a couple of day boarding successes he stayed for a few nights last week and after de briefing us, Buddy said he had a great time. We had plenty of updates. Thanks Meg ☺️👍🏻 Thank you.

Shelby was absolutely wonderful with Sky. From the moment we met her, Sky was relaxed and comfortable, which gave us great peace of mind. Shelby was fantastic at communicating throughout Sky’s stay, keeping us updated regularly and sending lots of lovely photos. It was clear that Sky was having a great time, and when we picked her up, she looked so happy and content. We couldn’t be happier with the care Shelby provided during Sky’s sleepover. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone kind, caring, and trustworthy to look after their furry family member!

Antonia was absolutely brilliant from start to finish! I booked with her at very short notice and dropped by dog off without a meet and greet (my choice) but my dog settled straight away. I received pictures and updates throughout the weekend and picked a happy doggy up! I was also a few hours later than anticipated but Antonia was very understanding. Thanks so much Antonia, I highly recommend you :)

Wilf had his first sleepover at Nicola’s and seems to have loved every minute. No anxiety and slept through the night despite it being his first night away from us since we got him. Feel really reassured now that he’s fine staying away from home when necessary. Nicola did everything to accommodate his routine, sleeping arrangements, new food, and aslo gave him the meds he’s on this week. Thankyou! ❤️

Amazing! Our 15 year old dog Penny had a great time staying at Claire's house for 3 nights. Claire provided provided detailed updates regularly with plenty of photos. She also drove to our house to collect Penny's food that Amazon delivered after we left for our trip. We wouldn't hesitate to book with Claire again and highly recommend her.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
